DS went to school with his pants on backward today. I do not have high expectations for the day.

On the bright side we are slowly garnering volunteers to review my RFP.  We can’t compensate them and it’s a significant ask so I find it hard to ask people, especially since they are mostly strangers.  Supervisor knows some of them, which makes it a little easier.

Macy is such an asshole. She just looks for things to bark at. She messed up my new curtains barking at a dog walking down the street. It's one of the ones the neighbor was trying to gift me the other day.

I just booked a long weekend away, for early December. friends had an extra ticket to a charity event show in Rehoboth Beach, DE. while I wasn't able to use points (JetBlue doesn't fly to BWI), the fare wasn't awful. they are picking me up at the airport on their drive, and we also have a free place to stay for the weekend. after yesterday's bullshit, that was a nice mood booster this am. K and I chatted a bunch last night, but I didn't want to book flights on my phone.

Jet Blue conpletely abandoned BWI around covid. Not sure if they are still holding gates or not. We flew them to Orlando in 2017. In 2018 the only option was to connect through Logan which was a no thank you. I think in 2020 they pulled out completely.

Also what grown ass adult takes out the trash and doesn't put another bag in or pick up trash on the floor? I guarantee you he only took the trash out because you were irritated. Why is it so hard to understand the concept of picking up after himself?

I would have strangled him by now. You're so much more patient than a lot of us would be.

Crane being used to cut tree in our town crashed into roof of the house. Truck also turned over luckily no one was hurt
We had tree taken down last month and crane was used. Many tree companies using them now. Maybe safer?? than climbing the tree and cutting and sending big branches down by ropes

Right?  How was she supposed to react?  Start singing a cleaning song while all the birds and deer in the area come to help her tidy up?   Any sane person is going to be pissed when they open up a dryer of what is supposed to be clean clothes to find tobacco everywhere.  

That would have been the last thing DH ever said to me.

You don't want to be fussed at about garbage on the floor or your cigarette exploding in the dryer then either clean up after yourself/empty your pockets or be single.  Just because Mister's mom seemed to enable and cover up for every fault his dad had does not mean that Pink should have to follow suit.  That is NOT a healthy relationship model. Also newsflash it is 2024.  Pink is a modern woman he needs to get his head out of ass and be a modern man. 

As my FIL told DH once when we first got married it's the 21st century. Your wife works too get off your ass and do housework.   I really loved FIL in that moment.

And as if shit can't get worse, my work project that is due tomorrow blew up last night. Analyst and I were on until way too late in the midst of me trying to parent. Frickin' model runtime is something like two hours and kept bombing out. I've been telling my boss for months that we need more technology capacity and he just sits on his ass. This morning he threw me under the bus to chief actuary for not having results ready and I let it be known that while I was embarrassed for not being ready it was not my fault and explained in detail once again the problems. Everyone wants to know why our group continually runs behind on projects and ends up in fire drills. So we've spent hours going over processes and approvals and my analyst and I keep saying pay to upgrade the tech or figure out why it's so slow.

As of 3 pm tomorrow, analyst and I are walking away from project as we're both on vacation next week. Our managers can compete what's left and then maybe they will understand the tech complaints.

And why did the universe only let me have <12 hours rejoicing and recouping from finally gaining custody of Teen and then have the rest of the week continue to be shit?!

Well my housekeepers just walked in, so...

And got a call from orthodontist that we missed DD12 appt which is clearly on the calendar. I told them to make my number secondary and call DH as primary incl about today as these monthly appts were fully handled to him in Feb.

Only Teen made it to school today. DD16 is still dizzy from vertigo but I also busted her on her phone at 11:45. DD12 had nightmares throughout the night - recurring one where someone is burning her cat. DH left for work while both were still clearly asleep and should have been up. Unexcused absences floated thru the system alerts bc I was prepping for work mtg. He texts and has the audacity to ask why they weren't at school. I said ask them or pay attn to their struggles. Well why are they unexcused. Um, bc you have to call them in. That man asked me for the school numbers. Hung right up on him!

It's funny how the mental load starts out. We're expected to know how to do everything and I know for me I like solving problens and getting things done. I thought everyone did everything. It took me way too long to realize that wasnt true. It's way less funny how we're supposed to hold their hand and walk them through basic tasks that we just figured out with a bunch of empathy and understanding because they've never had to do it before.

I have not been able to get hold of the guy who did the waterproofing of my foundation and was supposed to be working on the lawn this fall.  Texts not answered and calls go to voice mail.

Started sleuthing around yesterday.  He is in prison for domestic violence.  Arrested twice since the last time I talked to him and also got shot and refused to cooperate with police.  

So I'm going to remove the review I wrote and write him off.  

I don't want him back here.

They fly nonstop to KC. Just saying.
