How are you, Bob, and your dad holding up NomoreDramaQ1015?
I know you're all in shock and running on adrenaline, but I do hope each of you will be able to get a little sleep tonight as hard as that will be to do.

(Would a mealtrain or setting up a contact to forward gift cards be helpful? We’re not local enough to drop by with a home cooked meal, and we can’t make it not have happened, and many of us would feel better if we could feel like we were doing something that might make your or your dad‘s life a little easier in the short term Umm.sure. I'd be all right giving my contact information to someone. I'm not uses to being the one given help.
We know We also know that just because you can manage just fine all by yourself, doesn’t mean you should always have to do it that way. That said, I‘m probably not actually the best person to organize a broader effort, so I will open it up to volunteers if anyone who is less stone age and more reliably on the boards wants to take point?

I have been hungry for chicken, hubs nor DD don't really like it. So tonight I fried 5 chicken drumsticks. Then I put a can of mushroom soup and half a can of milk over it and simmered it. I ate 3 of them, really good. I froze the rest of the package, there are 4 more in it. They were only a $1 a pound, so $2.91 for all of them.
DD and I went to town, to the bank, post office, lunch, then home. I also had the meeting with her case manager and behavioral person today and that went well. After I got home from town, I mowed the yard. Had to pick up quite a few limbs but managed to get it done. It took me till 8 from 5. It's 70% chance of rain tonight and 50% the next day, then rain day after day after day.
I'm sleeping downstairs one more night, I have the beds stripped up here, need to finish drying the bed clothes. Tomorrow washing linens from downstairs and DD's. Want to do the mattress pads and everything. I do periodically.
I also want to mop the ceramic tile in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room.
My throat is sort of sore again and I start coughing. Going to try the throat spray and see if that helps, it's very uncomfortable. I think I'm trying to come down with something.

I will gladly coordinate Y Ma'am support for Drama. NomoreDramaQ1015, just PM me when you get a moment. I'll start a thread for everyone who would like to participate, so the particulars don't get lost in this one.

Good morning, you beautiful albeit invisible people of Y Ma'am. I hope your Thursday is unblemished by unsolvable problems, that you receive unexpected appreciation and that you enjoy dessert.
Today I'll be unloading the cargo van, trying to figure out where to put All.The.Stuff. and then returning said van. If you yourself ever need to rent a vehicle to move a larger load, I recommend a cargo van. They have a huge capacity and are much easier to drive than the box trucks otherwise available from Penske and UHaul. The vans are in short supply so if you know you'll need one, make arrangements asap.
Also today, my daily trip to the hardware store. This time for a short hose to connect to the dehumidifier in the basement, and a utility knife to cut tape on the multitude of boxes. I guess I'll put out on FB marketplace free boxes, come and get them, to get rid of as many as I can. I know I must have at least 150 boxes, many the tape-free banker's boxes.
At some point in the near future all the moving and unpacking will be done. I've got to find medical providers for DH, and at least a PCP for me. I've already found us a psych practice, well-staffed, near by that takes Medicare. Then I'll tend to the gardens which are withering in the current drought.
BTW, if you expect to need a bed in the near future, I can recommend an adjustable one. They really are good to have.

Laughing is good. Allow the tears too. And I'm proud of you for saying yes to us YMers. Your remembrance ideas are lovely. I'm taking notes. You and your girls are welcome in StL any time. My house has guest space that is yours for the asking. Betting we are a long weekend drive apart. Lots of free/cheap family stuff to do. When friends use my house as home base, I follow their lead on how involved they want me as tourist guide. I'd have some explaining to my DH about my internet friends but whatev. Dear Theo has cracked the door by being a lovely pen pal with DD10. Your DHs invite might be lost in the mail Post office might find it, but only if you make a special request depending on his behavior. Might I suggest that you continue to vent in the new thread that Fin sets up. This way you have space and can choose to see our replies or safely come to what you are you doing to escape.

Today I had my medical exam for my permanent resident visa. $400 right there. I also had a podiatry appointment, $75. I’m not getting the boot off any time soon. Ultrasound showed another small partial tear, in addition to the original. Damn it. Plantar fascia problems are no joke.
Pink, that is some scary shit your DD is dealing with, through no fault of her own. I’m mad for her, it bothers me so much when people try to control others, they feel like they gotta run it all.
I miss popping in here more, I’m so sleepy after a full day at work I can barely stay awake.

(Could someone please tell me who Bob is? Is it DQ's brother?)
My summer respite is over. I'm heading to work today. We're having DS#2's big bday dinner tonight. His birthday was last week, but DS#1 tested positive for COVID, so we pushed the dinner off to today. DS#1 had very few symptoms, and it looks like Miss Grandbaby didn't get it.

Too many acronymns on here to keep all the characters straight! I figure his first name is generic enough it's not a big deal to use it.

We got rain last night, first in awhile. I think all the landscaping we are having done is going to b3 happier. We have planted an apple tree and the tree is protected by a fence which is the equivalent to a deer Fort Knox. It has probably quadrupled in size since planted.

The lady from DHS did go talk to DD and the kids this morning. Yesterday when DD spoke to her on the phone DD told her she had a good idea who contacted them because she’s been having an ongoing problem with somebody harassing her.
So this morning, the lady got out her notepad and asked DD to tell her about what she mentioned yesterday. DD told her about the girl coming over and kept punching the DGD2’s father in the face in DD’s front yard and showed her screen shots of what the girl has been saying and doing to harass DD ever since then.
DD thinks that since the lady was the one that brought it up, and took notes as DD was telling her what was going on and showing her screenshots and playing voicemails, that it was pertinent information.
The accusations were so vile, pretty much guaranteed to get them to investigate. That they have seen DD verbally and physically abuse the children, that the baby is often covered in bruises, that DD has a lot of men coming in and out of her home and the baby screams whenever her diaper gets changed, implying sexual abuse.
The lady wanted to get a good look at the baby to look for bruises and take pictures, DD ended up taking DGD2’s dress off so the lady could see her whole body, and of course there were no bruises, scars or marks anywhere on her. She met the other 2 children, and of course they had no visible bruises or anything either, I’m sure she looked at whatever their clothes didn’t cover.
Anyway, when she was leaving, she told DD the case will probably be closed. I sure hope so!

A coworker who had a baby earlier this year just came back to work. She had to have a talk with child services in the hospital because she had tested positive for opiods, from eating a poppy seed muffin (I thought that was a myth?). She said she can laugh about it now but it was hella scary.
