'I know how to check oil in a vehicle, and I’m pretty sure I can figure out where to put oil in one. But I am being ornery ' and want Mister to put t he oil in the Jeep instead of doing it myself. Isn't the weaponised incompetence that the women complain about? NO! Me being ornery about the Jeep and the oil, is a reaction to all of the bullshit I’ve been dealing with from Mister during the last couple of years. I owned a house and cars years before I even met Mister. And I took good care of my house and my cars. I am not incompetent in any way regarding taking care of my shit, nor do I pretend to be now, with Mister. I know you have a son, but have you ever been a homeowner and had to do all the things I’ve had to do as a single parent with children, taking care of of a house and cars, and children and pets, all at the same time, when everything was on you to get done and make things happen? Had to work a job where it mattered that one of the benefits was being able to have health insurance for your child(ren)? Idk, so I’m just asking, because that is part of my own history. And because I’ve done all of that BY MYSELF, that is why I said before I even met Mister, that I can do bad by myself, I don’t need a man to help me not be okay or better. There are reasons for why I’ve done what I’ve done IRT to the Jeep and the issues with it burning oil, but I don’t feel like I have to explain all of that to you, so I won’t. I am just going to say that you are very wrong about it being “weaponized incompetence”. I don’t play those kind of games and because I so often feel like I am surrounded by crazy people, I constantly check myself to try to make sure I’m not the one being crazy. So the me that I really want to be, just wants to say that you are mistaken with your perception. The other me, that is less mature, I had to fight while I typed this reply.

My cancer surgery is coming up soon, where they will remove a goodly portion of my lungs. But guess what? I'm getting a KITTEN. It may invigorate Sushi, who does his best to impersonate a doorstop. He doesn't play at all. Only liked this ti let you know I saw your post. for the upcoming surgery.

Watching youtube videos on how to put a new belt on the snowblower attachment I bought this summer. I was (mostly) rocking swapping over the tractor from it's summer to winter gear until I hit this glitch. Not sure what moron designed having to remove the guard plate and pulleys to put a belt on, but apparently that's what I need to do. The worst part is the damn thing weighs 300 pounds. Hopefully it's nice this weekend because I'm putting it on the back burner until then, partially because I don't have a pulley puller, and partially because I just don't want to deal with it right now.

It's creepimg up The wee kit is black as coal and too young to be taken from his mother. Sushi never liked other cats but at 18/19 may have mellowed with age. "I keel you! I keel you dead! Oi screw it, is tired. Come and curl up underr arrm..is cold." Yes, he speaks with a Russian accent.

Would you believe we got another box from Amazon, its a password protected lithium lock that you can also access with your phone, sells for around $6. I reported it too. Son thinks its a scheme called brushing. Never heard of it before. Since they are sending stuff and amazon is telling me to keep it wish it were things I could use. I checked my credit cards, also changed email address and password on Amazon.
Grandson stayed over night and today with us. Today I was fixing lunch and he asked if he could help me. I told him he sure could, he is 9. He sat the table for me and put most items on it except the hot things. I was afraid he might burn himself. He even fixed DD's salad for her. What a sweetie he is. We sure love him.
He was going to wake me up at 9:30, he started to come around my side of the bed and I heard Smoke meow at him. He was asleep on my feet. He tried again and didn't try another time. Oh dear, now a guard cat. I got up not long after that. Darn cat.
We went ahead and got me a new laptop. That one has been dropped 2 or 3 times on the hardwood and something is wrong with it even son couldn't fix it.
He thinks some people like him are going to get sent to Ukraine. If there are contractors in those places they have to go too. He was in Kuwait a few years ago. I hope this does not come about. I really can't imagine that happening when someone is likely to pull us out.
I wanted cookies tonight, so I made some quick easy sugar cookies. Ended up only eating a couple but hubs and DD dived in. They were pretty good.
The modular will be inspected this week so once that is past there are some items we want to buy in case we get the tariffs enacted.
The flooring is one and I already said countertops.

I won't get the kitten until after the surgery. It wouldn't be fair to the people looking after Sushi.....toilet training and all that. Yes, it may be gone, but there were a LOT of kittens.
There was an 8 year old tabby...looked well-fed and well-loved. ONE DOLLAR! Made me cry.

I just got a scare, it was 10 oclock and this is a gated community. Our doorbell rang. I thought maybe an Amazon package, they deliver all hours. I got hubs up and he went outside, nothing. I have no idea how that could have happened. Someone could come up from the woods behind us I guess, but there is a creek and stuff back there and its raining and cold.
Weltz, why didn't you get the 8 year old, poor baby likely noone will take it. I can't go look at animals, if I did I would have a house full of cats.
Hubs and I wanted to get curtains up so noone could see us in here. Now I'm glad we have. I think I will also put some up on the patio doors and the outside glass door in our bedroom too. I wanted to feel so safe here, now that kind of spoiled that. Hoping maybe the cats hit something on the doorbell plug in to make it chime.

I'd love to take the 8 yr old boy, but I'm going for the tiny kitten so Sushi won't kill it. He does not play well with adults. He may have some empathy for teeny miniscule kittens. They don't pose much of a threat regrding the sharing of resourses.

I hope he doesn't do that to the little one, sometimes adult males will kill a kitten. I hope they get along.

Hubs and I take our vehicles to have oil changed anymore, we keep on schedule. He used to always do it and did in the tractor, backhoe, and stuff. But he said his truck has other pieces to take off and he doesn't want to mess with it. I haven't put enough miles on this car since I've had it and have only changed the oil once when I brought it up here. I think it still has a thousand or so to go. Don'e think we ever had a vehicle that used oil. He is meticulous about maintaining vehcles.
As far as tires we get Michelins, they cost more but they wear really well. Best tire on the road as far as I'm concerned.
I updated our savings bond list. We cashed in quite a few, but I kept the higher earning ones and they are doing well. Can't wait to get the money from this sale to replace some of what we spent on this. We need to look into lowering the price on the Indiana house again.
And I need to get to bed, going to paint tomorrow and its 1:30AM, yikes.
My hands hurt so bad, arthritis, that even typing sometimes hurts, holding a paint brush does too after a bit. My aunt had it so bad she got to where she was in constant pain. Then she got a bleeding ulcer from the meds and had to quit them. She said that is when her life got so bad for her, feel that is coming for me too, along with my back.

Maybe it was the person using your address as a drop off point. If you are there when they deliver, refuse the package. Might make the scammer move on.

Good morning, busy invisipeeps, running your lives. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope this day brings you hard cider and warm cornbread and that you hear a very funny joke. We all need some cheer. We're in Albuquerque. Once it's light out we'll go see some of the sights including a federal preserve with tiny dinosaurs of all sorts, including spoon billed cranes and eagles. It's cold here. They had a snowstorm last week and got about 6", maybe more. It is really nice to be here. I couldn't take any pics yesterday due to first the rain then the travel. So here's one I took about a year ago at the beach:

I am going to go to my Christmas card list and remove my friend's name. She was always very good about exchanging cards until the last few years when she got sick. Some years she sent them and some years she did. So another name of my list. This one hurts. I removed all of my local stations from Dish. I'm calling them tomorrow to see if I can buy out my contract and be done. DVR doesn't work and I don't want the service. I would rather pay the lump sum and be done. If there is a fee to do it, I will unhook the equipment and not use it and put it on my calendar when the contract is up so I can cancel it. I'm thinking You Tube TV might get me the best bang for my buck? I'm waiting for Black Friday deals. Since I no longer care about cable news shows, they are not a consideration. I enjoy my Peacock and want to watch it. As you look into services, if you find some that don't discourage account sharing, I'd have no problem taking the cost or splitting it esp if it streams our bball games

Teen is now officially 17! 364 more days to go til freedom!
Overall I think her bday was pretty great. DH got her flowers and a Bluey balloon which I know she bragged about on Insta.
She bought herself a sash and tiara and paraded around school in them in her new bday fit which was a smart sweater and new dark wash jeans.
Her gf was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's a couple months ago and was having an off day, missed school but her mom allowed teen to come over after for 3 hours. Dinner plans with her aunt and gma got cancelled, still need to circle back on why and set up another time for gma at least.
We pivoted and booked an escape room, I drove 50 mins each way to pick up and drop off her fav cousin. Her older brother got a ride to the room and DH drove 45 mins each way to take bro to where he is currently staying. Was most of us first time in escape room. DD12 got really into it and teen said we should take her and some friends sometime soon.
While we were returning cousin, teen was blasting some tupac in my van and apparently I was bouncing my head with one hand on the steering wheel so I'm never gonna live that down. I thought teen was either going to pee her pants or fall out the car, she was laughing so hard. I did manage to ask her if my poor white self was at least on beat. That brought her to laughing tears. Poor cousin wasn't sure if she should laugh but teen said don't worry white mama dishes it as good as she takes it.
She's having a dozen friends and cousins for sleepover Fri night complete with matching silk women's pajamas and DH is going to don a set for all of our amusement.

Attempting a training this morning but they are having horrible buffering issues. It is an interesting topic but it's continually interrupted. They are supposedly fixing it.

CG2 - any chance the packages are somehow related to the previous owners? Also, you might consider lights and cameras at the outside doors. I did that a few years ago in California after middle of the night door knocking and it made me feel so much better alone.

So I applied for FEMA assistance after the flood. I was reading that the average payout over the last ten years was about $5000, and I assumed that was for a total loss. In my mind, I was expecting maybe $2500. I just got the email that they approved us for $18,000. I am floored and I am grateful. Also, they were very fast. It won't cover all our losses, but it sure does help a lot and I'm breathing a sigh of relief right now.

Morning all. Bring on the coffee. Another night of tossing and turning. Need to have a very productive day at work. Way too much to do and not enough time. That's not good at all. You seem to be having too many of those kind of nights and you need some decent sleep for a change. Have you ever tried Melatonin? Just a thought, but it "might" help.

Exhausted and awake since 5am today after waking up at 5:30 yesterday. Yesterday morning was bilateral knee injections which are already helping but the extra fluid feels funny and steroids interrupt my sleep.
I feel like a walking injection site because it's lower back, shoulders and knees every 3 months. Risk factors aside, I have more mobility with far less pain and less need for meds. All were over a month late so going from the kitchen to my bathroom became a study in extreme pain. BCBS messed around giving approvals for injections because of an out of state issue as we are literally three houses from the state line. We are extremely rural with only my PCP local. Closest in state specialists are 250 miles away which raises other coverage issues. Yet out of state specialists are 20 to 45 miles away along with the preferred hospital. Being as all were a month late, inflammation returned and it takes a few on-time rounds to get maximum relief. My lower back has been especially bad this time.
Thank you for listening to me mutter and complain about my BCBS woes. I really hate their BS. The worst part is none of the policies from any company look any better for next year! I may have to somehow move to Utah. J has been being so difficult and annoying of late, that an actual move looks better and better every day. Main problem with that is I have been looking for several months and have found only two acceptable places - one rental and one for sake. 🤔
I have a PCP appt at 8:20 and monthly pain mgmt tomorrow then I hope to have several days off for a quick trip home to California before it starts up again with pulmonologist, rheumatologist and monthly pain mgmt again. Wash, rinse and repeat. It"s a good thing I don't work anymore because no time. I'll

My heart goes out to you and yours and I can't imagine all that you lost and the cleanup work you've been doing is daunting. Keep up the good fight! So glad you were approved for a large amount that gives you some breathing room.

I don’t want to do a lot of things, but I do them anyway, including stuff around the house that he should’ve done, but didn’t.
