I did have fun with someone who believed they were putting litter boxes in schools for kids who think they are Furry.

I said that is not very inclusive where is the newspaper for dog furry kids?

Do they have ceder chips available for the Bunny/Mouse/Rat/Guinea Pig furry kids?

Where the heck do the fish furry kids go to the bathroom?!  What about kids who identify as lizards?

Can I use the litter box if I don't identify as a furry but really don't want to wait in line for a stall in the woman's bathroom?  


They were pretty pissed at me for not taking it seriously.


You can tell the people who believe these things do not have children or grandchildren and haven't stepped inside a school since they graduated. .. or ever.  Unless they are doing a really good job of putting all the litter boxes away in the janitor's closet at night I can safely say I haven't seen a single one.

I have a friend who is certain another friends school gives a special recess for furry kids. She's otherwise pretty normal but every time it comes up I'm like come on.

Well I voted. I did what I could. Now I need to try to stop panicking. It's out of my control unfortunately.

When I checked my mail, about an hour ago, I found ALL the mail boxes WIDE OPEN. Not individual doors, but the whole bank of mail boxes. Like the carrier left them open. They had mail in them. But who knows if mail is missing?

I live in a large complex, with lots of apartments. So I took pictures of what I saw.

I also ran into a guy, in the elevator, who had an armful of mail. Maybe 6-8 inches high, or more! More than would fit even in a parcel locker.

I called and notified the USPS. They were shocked. As was I. Someone is supposed to be coming to secure the mail boxes.

DD was at a recent school board meeting for the tiny school district where 3 of my grandkids attend.  We are talking a 1 school district.  That school has around 600 kids from preschool - high school.  The topic was the growth of the school and accommodating more students.  DD told me that there was one parent there who wanted to know what the school board was going to do so that the school wouldn't turn into one of those schools that had litter boxes.  Unfortunately stupid exists everywhere.

This cousin's mother works in an elementary school.  This cousin sent her child to school today in his Maga gear.  Poor kid had no choice.  His mom was so proud of him.

I renewed our electricity plan today and ended up having a 30-minute chat with the service rep explaining the issues of the Texas power grid.  She works at their out-of-state headquarters and has heard many stories about our energy problems, so I did a soup-to-nuts explanation of energy politics, infrastructure challenges, and everything else that impacts us here.  

I also had a solid conversation with someone from the local electric provider who received the email I sent to our councilmember about recent outages.  I have him on speed dial now.
