I'm so sorry about your mother- things seemed hopeful before.

And I'm glad you're finding the minister a help.  Back when you were angry at Dr. Doom and some of the other clueless people, you'd threatened dire consequences if clergy showed up.  I know clergy who have served as hospital chaplains and they've dealt with all kinds of rage, grieving, confusion, etc.  They don't try to comfort you with useless platitudes and just try to be present in whatever form you need.

Oh drama, my heart is breaking for you, and I've never even met you.  I'm so, so sorry.  I know exactly what it feels like to go thru a parent seemingly recovering and then losing them traumatically...and I didn't even much like my dad.

As for your DH, if you're not going to call a sibling in the middle of the night to watch your kid/their niece so you can support your grieving wife, then what emergency will it take?!  FFS man!  I'm so outraged for you.

Now I feel some type of way about “living in sin”, and I’m not sure what to do about it. We both say we are stuck with each other, but I still have trouble wrapping my mind around getting married. But I also don’t want to keep sinning in God’s eyes. At this point, I may have deflected and avoided so often that Mister doesn’t even want it anymore.

Anyway, that is some of the stuff that was on my mind yesterday.

I have the same kind of relationship with God. I'm baptized catholic but don't really attend church or do what I'm supposed to do as far as catholic beliefs. I live my life for myself and just try to be an overall good person.

I don't believe that you have to get married because "it's what you're supposed to be doing." I feel like when it's time for you to get married you'll be so ready that you'll feel it so strongly you'll want to throw yourself in head first. In my experience with things doing something because you feel like you're supposed to or because it's the logical next step doesn't work out so well. JMO. Carry on.

I rarely discuss religion, as it is a personal experience to me. But if you can believe your God things accepts things that most bible thumpers do not, like homosexuality or female equality, why stick on the "living in sin" issue? Shouldn't we expect religion to evolve just like everything else?

By Monday evening I was exhausted (but I attributed that to the intensity of the work day). By Wednesday morning I thought I had strep throat. DH brought home a COVID test that mid-morning; it was positive. By the following Monday (Memorial Day) I felt better but still exhausted. I tried to go to work on Tuesday (which if we start with Sunday being Day 1, that makes that Tuesday Day 10), but I only made it until noon. I took another test Wednesday morning (Day 11) and I tested positive. 

All completely anecdotal of course, but also why I have no good answer for you.

So, our computers at work are down. Read about Taz, UC, and Andi’s Covid concerns and was texting DS. Suggested he get a covid vaccine-He said “I see no point in getting the vaccine.” I just found an Ant crawling on my leg. Hope he originated from work, not my home.
