Talked to J last night. All 3 are sick with something. They said it's probably Covid but they are not going to test. I am happy I decided not to go to Toronto for my birthday. So J was telling me the ages of his daddy and mommy and himself. He wrote them on a wipe erase board. Then he asked me how old I am. He wrote it on the board. Then he said "that's a really big number!" He was playing a game about the solar system. He was quite disgusted because it had Pluto on it as the 9th planet and Pluto is not a planet.

I've been sick for about 10 days. I thought it was Covid, but it was seasonal flu. I felt like I was hit by a Mack truck. When I inquired about getting a flu shot, it was too early, and they weren't doing them yet. Get your flu shots, people!

The patio looks good after the bleach rinse, and it no longer smells like bleach. My car looks good after a decent washing. We will start spreading fresh mulch later. I picked up some additional Halloween decorations this morning.

Up and guzzling coffee. I have about 3 halves of crab legs and assorted legs that detached to pick today. This was leftover from last night. Last time we did this, I bought 8 crabs and it was a bit too much. The 7 crabs I bought this time weighed a bit more (same price/lb) so they must have been bigger as the price was $10 more. Loooove crab, but it is such a stinky mess to prepare and clean up. We had shards of shells all over last night.
Looks like fall has moved in. We have a 70% chance of rain and it’s gotten chilly out. I think dinner tonight is going to be crab cocktail, leek and potato soup with homemade biscuits. Interesting combo!

Electricians are here replacing my front lights! They even have electrical outlets with them for easier electrical plug in as needed. I could use power tools in the side yard!

Maybe I should do that. I know better than buy a gun because I would most likely use it on myself so I have a little pry bar to throw at people. Hot sauce would definitely be more painful than the bottle of antacids I keep by my bed. This is me. I would be long gone if I owned a shot gun. I have nothing to throw at people. I have laughed at the idea in my mind of an 80 plus person having the awareness to get a gun out of a drawer and actually shooting someone before they get shot. There will never be a gun kept in my house. I have a 380 automatic and will not hesitate to use it. Trips to shooting range keeps me sharp! One bullet in chamber and four in clip. No guarantee I’ll win in shootout but I’ll try to make it an even fight.

I got back from San Antonio last night. I had a good time. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk, and I never got back in a vehicle until it was time to go back to the airport. I walked for miles though, all over the Riverwalk and the surrounding area.
The first day, we got to our hotel around 7am, and me and the young lady from Nashville basically walked around until 9pm. Neither of us had been to sleep since we’d gone to work the morning before.
I really enjoyed the Riverwalk. Our 3rd day, we did the tour on a boat that takes you around the area.
I got pranked my second day. A big potted plant had appeared on the side walk next to our hotel. I was walking past it by myself and the plant came to life and scared the crap out of me. It was a man camouflaged as a plant. So I might end up on the Internet eventually. I’ve seen those videos before on FB.
The last night, we were getting drinks “to go” at a bar on the Riverwalk next to our hotel. A young lady B, was with us, it was her first time attending the seminar. B got into it with the bartender and I thought we might have Tom fight our way out. I’d given her a $20 bill to pay for my drink, so she could order mine with hers, since the bar was so crowded. The bartender put both drinks on the young lady’s card and kept the $20. B started off politely correcting the bartender, but she had a nasty attitude and kept calling us bitches while she was pouring another customer’s drink while we were waiting on the manager. That’s when B got unruly.
The manager came, straightened it out, said he’d talk to the bartender, and offered us free shots. We drank our shots and left with our drinks we’d bought. If not for that incident we might have stayed for a minute, because they were playing good music and people were having fun.
We hung out until about 3am Saturday night, so of course I was looking crazy when I had to get up yesterday morning to check out.
It was a nice break from home and I did enjoy myself.

It's gonna be 32 degrees here on Wednesday morning. Time to walk out on the deck and decide which plants get to come inside for the winter. I always keep my standard cut jasmine inside. It smells divine when it blooms. I have some tropicals Sis gave me - I might keep them. I have limited space for these guys. By February they will look pretty sad and I will be heartily sick of watering them! But today everyone gets inspected for stowaways - I do not want to bring any wasps or stink bugs inside!!!

Took Abby to see Coraline the musical yesterday at The Rose. She said it was boring because it followed the book instead of the claymation movie. Theatre does not seem to really be her thing which makes me sad. Maybe when she gets older. Gwen will see a show with me every once and awhile. I feel like I have very little in common with my kids, which isn't a bad thing because they should have their own interests and be their own people but it can be a bummer to not have kids interested in sharing things with me. I was hoping at least one of them would be a drama kid. I really enjoyed the play myself. I wouldn't say it's in my top 10 but it was enjoyable and I really liked the actress who played Other Mother. none of my kids are likely musical. it's a core part of me. it is what it is. they also don't like my hobbies. i try to flip it though and see that there are new things i can try to strengthen our relationship. though i won't be getting into mtg . and who your kids are now ....they may not be that in the future.

They decided to play video games instead. the peanut and i red to get through the last episode. i'm ready to move on without her.

In other news, Saturday afternoon, Mister sent me pictures of 2 busted tires and scratched up wheels on the Mustang. I immediately called him and said WTF. He said he was waiting on a tow truck. I said “What the hell were you doing”. He said “Mustang stuff”. So of course I wanted to know wth “Mustang stuff” was. He said he punched it and the car went sideways instead of straight and he hit the curb. He was very calm about it, I was more upset than he was. He said he considered not telling me because he figured I’d fuss at him, but he had to order new tires and they won’t be in until Wednesday, so I was going to see it anyway when I got home. Hopefully the damage to the wheels is just cosmetic and they aren’t bent. I said “well, it’s your car and you’re the one that’s gotta pay to fix it. So the only thing imma say is you better figure out why it went sideways so you know how to prevent it from happening again. You’re lucky you just busted your tires and didn’t have a real wreck”. We already knew it will fishtail on turns, but not that it would go sideways if you’re going straight. So now he’s sad that he’s off work today and the weather is perfect, but he can’t go out and play.

Scenario: You’re called for jury dury for the month. It states to check after 6:00pm on the Friday before you’re due to start. For the first 2 check-ins, they state you aren’t needed for the following weeks. When you check this past Friday after 6:00pm, it hasn’t been updated for the coming week. I checked again this morning and still not update. Do you go to jury duty in the morning?
What would you do?
FWIW, I’m still going to check to see if it’s been updated. Also, can’t call because it’s a holiday so court is going on.

They shouldn't but they do. It was really bad in the 80's and 90's. You eventually learn to steer the car to correct that, but it does and has happened. Be thankful you don't have to pay for the tires and re-balancing. I am also glad you refused to drive his "baby" and it was him that jinked the curb. I'm glad you got some time away just for yourself. It sounds like you had a decent bit of fun.

We went in for hubs visit today. He has a small mass on an adrenal gland and a small gall stone. They are going to do a cystoscopy to see what it is and of course watch it. The doc is doing it. As he said the exams and catscans did not show the cancer was as extensive as it was which is unusual. Turns out the PA urologist is from Bloomington, Ind and hubs and he even knew some of the same people. Hubs really liked him. And he is only 52 and said they found he had prostrate cancer and had surgery in Feb of this year. Wow, a young guy. And they are sending hubs to a endocrinologist also. But all this is close by 15 minutes away so very convenient for everything. Will be so much easier to take care of ourselves longer. We are starting to get more comfortable with the medical care here, I think we will be ok. And if its something serious they get you in quickly.
And I see why they would want hubs back on that job, he has worked on it twice already and they kept running out of money. Graft is so bad it sucks things dry in those countries. He thinks China is putting money into it, its a refinery in Angola. To be seen. I can't believe he asked the doc about it, he said no problem can work around his times home. Hummmm
I'm making progress on my windows. Going to see if I have some brush cleaner and clean a window or two with that, then wash, bet that does it. At least I finally know what the problem is.
I have a rose thorn in my finger, been digging on it with a single edge razorblade and got some of it out. Doesn't look like there is anything there but I can still feel something, will have too get a needle and dig a bit further, have antibiotic creme on it. And I have the same issue, my left thumb locks up and folds into the palm and I have to pull it out. When painting It happens to my right thumb too.
It's cold out today. I just thought of the trees being pines here and not turning. They are starting to turn and its going to be beautiful. We haven't had a truly beautiful fall back home for some years now.
Lots to do, need to get ready for DD's doc visit also.

Do your instructions say to call before showing up?
Likely the holiday has messed this up. If you've always had a recording before, I continue as always. Lawsuits do get settled at the last minute, sometimes even during trial. So keep checking.

I do have a 3 year old and a 13 year old.
There are instructions to call or look online. I’ve done both and the message hasn’t been update for this coming week.

We had 0 homicides in Tumwater last year but lots of property crimes. Olympia had 1 murder in each of 2020 and 2021, didn't see 22 and 23. It's pretty safe here.

Things said to my dogs. Jackson walks into the kitchen. "Whatcha doing baby GET YOUR TRIFILIN ASS OUT OF THE TRASH BEFORE I BEAT YOU!" That escalated quickly. He just looked at me like "whatever" and went in the other room.

Ugh! I'm remembering today why I rarely go to Hobby Lobby. First, they ran an ad in the Sunday paper advertising 50% off on a bunch of Christmas items, including paper plates, napkins, etc., so I went this morning to pick something out early. That shipment hadn't even arrived at the store. Then, I find one item not originally on my list that I'll get since I made the trip, and they have only one, slow cashier working. Some manager came up & began to ring up a few people, but then she left, so I'm guessing I waited about 20 minutes to purchase one item. I'm not going back anytime soon.

At the time, the only vehicles I've ever seen that flipped over & landed on their roofs were Mustangs. I think they're very attractive cars, but that cured me from every wanting to own one. I'm glad Mister didn't get hurt, but tell him to NEVER "play" with a Mustang in the snow. They just don't hold the road.

If not for that incident we might have stayed for a minute, because they were playing good music and people were having fun. We hung out until about 3am Saturday night, so of course I was looking crazy when I had to get up yesterday morning to check out. It was a nice break from home and I did enjoy myself. I think I stayed there the last time I was in San Antonio. Back at that time, I knew where the good places to eat along the Riverwalk were located. It's been so long now that I'm not sure that the good places are still in existence.

I like musicals, but have to drag TD to them. We saw both Les Mis and Wicked while in London. He was ok with Les Mis but didn't care for Wicked. I wanted to go to Mama Mia, but that was a no go for him.

Not to scare you, but many years ago I lived near a highway. OMG THIS!!! I watched a Mustang slide through a major intersection sideways and there was very little snow on the ground. He couldn't stop at a red light, and slid through 5 lanes of traffic. I don't know how the oncoming traffic was able to avoid hitting him. I was following behind him up to the intersection and was watching how little control he had of his back end, so it didn't surprise me that when he tried to slow down for the light that the brakes did absolutely nothing for him. TD will not drive his Miata in the snow.

Yeah, but nobody lives there. 27,000 and 57,000. More coyotes than people. Just how I like it. That would drive me batty. My mom.was saying something about this one day. She was saying how she doesn't understand why someone would want to live in the country. I told her those people probably don't understand why one would want to live in the city. Different people have different preferences.
