Really annoyed. I wa dogsitting this weekend and told them I was going to be out of town today so they told me to just put him back in their house and they'd be back early afternoon. I put him in their house at 10am and knowing they were usually late, had another neighbor let him out a couple times this afternoon. Now it's 11pm and they're STILL not home and they haven't texted me or answered any of my texts either. The food they gave me ran out and I don't know where they store it so he didn't get dinner tonight...although by the looks of it he broke into his treat container today and ate them all, so he's probably not starving. I thought I should just bring him back to my house, but I have a class tomorrow and have to get to work earlier than normal, so I don't know what to do besides check early morning if their vehicles is there and at least let him out again. I wouldn't offer to dogsit for them anymore. Let them pay to kennel the dog next time.

Hugs Drama. First day of new job, 8 hours of webex orientation scheduled that I can’t miss and ofc DS wakes up full of snot and with his mildly goopy eye now glued shut. DH has him at the pediatrician, but we don’t have the new insurance info yet (supposed to be retroactive to today at least). DH is on a business trip Wed and Thurs too...suppose I should be glad it’s not today At least we’re all negative for covid so far I need to stay negative until I pick up new computer equipment tomorrow at the very least. I hope he's back to normal quick! August has to be the worst month to start a job. Summer plans, school starting, and doctor appointments mean every week I have something during work hours I have to step away for. It doesn't help that I'm cramming in all possible appointments before starting new insurance and a new deductible, but I wish I had moved in July or could wait until September.

Just enjoying our time off". While your dog is freaking locked in the house for 15 hours? I left him in there at 10am because they said they'd be home in the early afternoon and he'd be fine until they got home. Sure am glad I got another sitter to cover for me in the afternoon while I was gone.

I'm really trying to be more zen but that kind of stuff makes it very challenging.

My throat and cough are worlds better today but I feel physically exhausted and out of breath. It really feels like asthma where there is just a weight on my chest this morning. I'll still work on getting the dog walked, then rest. I don't have any real work to do at current job. I'll probably talk to boss about letting me go now instead of at my 15 year anniversary next week. Determine if you have any benefits that kick in at 15 years. You don’t want to lose these for a few days I received medical benefits from a former job caused I worked there for 15 years.

I'm so mad at myself. I got a speeding ticket (5 mph over), this morning. Not sure why he chose me, instead of the person I was following. But he had to pick one. Ugh.

If it makes you feel better, DH & I were traveling near a community having a bike rally (think Harley Davidson). We had a bunch of motorcycles blow past us on the highway, and who does the cop pull over but DH. I guess it's safer for them to pull over a middle class male in a family car, than a biker.

I didn't think they pulled you over for 5 mph over. Maybe it was faster and he cut you a break on fine/points by writing 5?

Can’t get in to see the dentist until tomorrow. I’m taking way more ibuprofen than I should.

Remember my BFF in the hospital with the idiot alcoholic gigolo boyfriend? He's giving her cat away while she's in the hospital. She once told me that if she had to choose between her cat and Ricardo, that Ricardo would be history. Asshole isn't capable of looking after a cat, and he's going to look after a post-op patient with brain trauma?

He was homeless and hanging around our apartment complex, hoping someone would take him in. I can't take him....Sushi is about 15-16 years old, hates other cats, and just wants to sleep all day. I'm not going to take him in at the detriment of my own cat. The adoption will be permanent. I don't know what kind of hold this asshole has over her. He must have a magic penis which grants wishes when you rub it and spits out gold nuggets. Nobody likes him. Nobody. Even her own family had him banned from visiting her in the hospital.

We made it home, none the worse for the wear. Apparently DH woke up with a lot of arthritis pain and would rather snap at me than tell me. Whatever, he’s ready to forgive and forget now, so I guess I’m supposed to think alls well that ends well. I’m ignoring him and doing chores in another room. It’ll all be fine eventually, I just need some breathing room right now.

I maxed out pto accrual and vesting at 6 years. If I come back within a year (and likely longer) they'll reinstate those 2 items.

Vacation begins! Today is drive from KY to GA, staying with YDS, then tomorrow to parents house in Miami. DD and family will be there Wednesday, then Friday off to FL Keys.
ODS got a big promotion at work. He also finally cut his “Covid pandemic” no haircut hair. I told him he looked much better, and younger. And that hi a good thing since he just turned 30🤪

Now I'm really annoyed about the dog thing. She texted me that he broke into all his treats and his probiotic allergy meds and ate them all. I said "Oh no, I had set them on the table and thought they'd be fine". She's like "I warned you he will eat everything off the counter if given a chance". Uh...no you didn't. I have every text message you sent me and that's the only way we communicated the last month.
He was hungry. I couldn't find his food (they only sent enough for up to Sunday morning) and he's normally always been crated when I watched him before, but they must have gotten rid of the crate because now he's just loose in the house.

Tell her then maybe she should have been home prior to 12 hours later than they said they would. She also can board her dog next time. She is ultimately responsible for her dog, not you. I don't even know her and I'm pissed off.

In case anyone was wondering, I've managed to turn the claim for the overaged driver from denied to not denied. These people drive me crazy but oddly I still love my job.

Dh's job was bought out and he's reading through new employers employee manual which includes things like: Employees must immediately tell employer if pregnant or diagnosed with Aids. Employees will be placed on a leave of absence if called for jury duty and not paid. The employer may call the court to request employees dismissal from jury.
Kinda hoping this makes him look for a job closer to home.

Even her own family had him banned from visiting her in the hospital. I am so sorry for your BFF and everyone having to deal with asshole robbing her blind. The no-one-under-55 policy at one local luxury senior complex here actually saved a tenant from a similar situation. She had frequent multi-night visits from a "companion" many decades her junior who finally moved in. Her neighbors did not want to rain on her parade but they started noticing a change in her personality, that she wasn't wearing some of her usual jewelry, and Junior started coming to the pool by himself and hitting on other ladies, so they alerted the management. Turned out the young man was well known to law enforcement across the Southwest for having victimized many wealthy women. He would befriend them, strip their jewelry boxes and bank accounts and move on with a new identity to a new location.

Last I heard, the pregnancy thing was only allowed for a very limited set of hazardous exposure circumstances for which the employer might have liability. I think AIDS/HIV reporting is even more limited. Maybe they will update the manual for Covid and monkeypox soon. Do the poor serfs have to turn their pitiful jury duty pay (here it's $8/day) over to the employer?

Local Nextdoor site has someone offering 2 ball pythons plus cage and supplies for $100. One male and one female snake so I suspect maybe she saw breeding and decided to get out of snake ownership. They are absolutely beautiful creatures so I hope they find a good home.

I can't imagine not supplying extra in case they were unavoidably delayed (car trouble, late flights). What did they expect would happen when they arrived so late? I've always said I was animal-friendly but never wanted the responsibility of a pet. They don't deserve this one.
