Home for lunch and sitting in the sunshine. Having a frazzled morning—all attributed to being a girl—so I’ve made myself more coffee.

I caved and turned on the heat this morning. it's 58 degrees out and raining sideways. I'm also having a grumpy girly day, which probably adds to me not being able to shake this chill. 🥶 what I really want to do is just crawl into bed and stay there til the morning.

New question: I want DS to have access to things like his birth certificate, passport, etc. I also want him to have his bonds. Without having to ask us. Should we get him a little safe for his apartment? I had drawer that locked in the dorms, and then I had a little footlocker that I had a padlock to. What say you? I just got DS a fireproof/waterproof bag for that stuff.
The bad part about small safes that aren't built in and are easy to carry off is that unless they're well hidden they're the first thing to get grabbed in a robbery. I have a big safe that would be hard to run off with and I still leave it unlocked so if someone breaks in they can see all that's in it is car titles and birth certificates and the abstract for the house. No cash or anything of value to anyone but me, but I still want it protected from fire.

Ugh. Bill the Dog has something gross on his face. It’s either a mole or a dried glop of food. Or both.

Huh. I definitely failed at that part. I still have all the paperwork. Including DS’s navy discharge paperwork. 😳😳😳😳

My first encounter with calling my credit union and AI answered the phone. Just give me the phone tree. I didn't need the operator. I put the extension number in. AI didn't recognize and said call back later. I called that number 13 times today to talk to someone two times. That is unacceptable.
The operator the AI transferred me to didn't care to listen. The insurance agent I was trying to talk to did listen and said the bank is asking for feedback. So why didn't the operator listen and provide feedback. Once I got started, I told her about the 9 bank statements when I only need one. She said I was the 3rd customer today to complain to her, an insurance agent, about that problem.

At 22 he can be responsible for his own passport and birth certificate. If not, it's not like they can't be replaced.

Getting ready for the landfall of Milton. I am east coast FL, but we will get some effects. Most of our shutters are in place (it's too dark and depressing to do them all now) and the outside stuff is done. Car was serviced today, did a quick run to pick up printer ink on the way back home. Sheets and towels laundry is done; clothes will be washed tomorrow and I will run the dishwasher also. Car has a full tank of gas and we have meds, food, water and pet stuff. Important paperwork is in a plastic sealed bag and in a safe place. We will clear the patio tomorrow.

hugs, Nancy. check back in when you can. Hopefully it's not awful for you on the east coast.
I've got a bunch of friends in and around Tampa that have me worried this time. Last storm, it was the couple that left Tampa and moved to Asheville.

It's been mid-60s and sunny lately, and the rest of the week should be the same. this just isn't fun today.

This head cold is quite unpleasant. I have not been very productive today with a sinus headache and my nose running non-stop.

I’m heading from Houston to Tampa. Just in time to evacuate tomorrow sometime but I wanted to get home for very good reasons that I’m sure no one but me cares about. I’m delayed a few hours but I will get home tonight.
