Jackson must have been having one hell of a dream. He was laying there twitching with his teeth out and growling. He never growls. Not even when Macy is growling at him. I took my phone off the charger to film him to send to T1 but he woke up.

It’s about that size but doesn’t look exactly like that picture. His is a Husky. So wait, boars don’t need tits? Are female boars called something else? Or do they not need tits either? They are called sows. Unless they are called wild hogs or javelinas in which case both sexes are called a dangerous PITA. Also called delicious if killed young enough and cooked right Both sexes are great mixed 50/50 with venison in sausage. There is this British guy on TikTok who is basically touring America. He was somewhere down south, I don't remember where and encountered wild boar. He was trying to pet them. Everyone in the comments was like "NOOOOO!"

Today is inspection day. Hopefully this is the laat one. I really like this house. I'm trying to figure out what color to paint. Everything is warm toned, so going with something warm. Was thinking a burnt orange, but pale if that makes sense. There is a ton of natural light coming in, so I want the vibe to be light and airy. Thoughts? one of the things I love about the tan I have in my huge open space is that it adapts to warm and cool really well. my accent colors in a previous place were brick red, where I have aquatic blues and that sort of thing. I used the same tan. it's Haze by Behr, but my painter here color-matched it with Ben Moore. I can text you a pic of the paint sticker, if you're interested. just lmk ETA: wait, I misread you the first time. you mean pale burnt orange as how you're leaning. I was offering my tan as a "pale" color in general. offer still stands if you want it anyway.

Wow just heard NYC Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by the feds. Around 6 heads of agencies including police and education also have been indicted. They’ve resigned and probably mayor tomorrow Yes. We're supposed to hear why today I think. I'll bet it's related to the Diddy thing. Is anyone else following that? I'm so invested!

Adams being charged by Feds with getting large amounts of travel expenses from Turkey. Then getting a Turkish embassy building approval despite fire dept having problems with building ( thinking FDNY also trying to shake down), Sort of listened to news conference and they said the corruption has been going on for many years before he became mayor I’m very cynical but why now? Something to do with Adams keeping trying to get help from the White House with the massive costs of housing feeding schools medical etc of the many thousands of migrants? No help just ignored Corruption is rampant in NYC

Oh Chloe, praying Bill turns up. Misplacing a pet is only slightly worse feeling that misplacing a kid. bean29 if it helps, my DH always under-reacts when one of our cats goes missing. Simon found a dog yesterday, on the highway. He scooped him up, pulled over and started calling the number on his collar. Nobody was picking up. Finally, a woman answers, and comes to get the dog. Track marks all over her arms, but the dog seemed well fed, so Simon relinquished the dog. Medium sized dog, very cute.

I have a meeting at 1pm and then will head home. Schools are closed today and tomorrow and Atlanta is bracing for Helene because the forecast is for wind gusts of 75-90 mph. Atlanta is known as the "city in the forest" because we have so many trees. The worst is expected overnight and I just hope no-one gets hurt and we don't lose power.

please check in when you can, gs11rmb. I've been talking to my friend T today, she's been tying stuff down all day at her place. she's NW of the airport, but I'm not exactly sure which town. I know we take 285 to the airport. I was surprised to hear the storm had intensified, I'd been under the impression it was still Cat 1.

I'm feeling better about the work situation today. I had a solid call with the financial planner this am, and I'm settled there with my taxes questions. I'm going to leave my 401k where it is until I know where I'm going, and then I'll decide whether to roll it into whatever new one or move it to the IRA the FP currently manages.
my packaging engineer reached out via Teams to ask if I was attending either of the upcoming quarterly meetings at our sites in PA, since she'd be travelling from Ireland to attend. I said no, I wasn't travelling, and I haven't really broadcast this....but.... and I thought she was going to cry. so that made me feel appreciated, for sure. we chatted for quite awhile, and are definitely going to keep in touch. I'd love to cross paths with her again, we have worked very well together.
I found a workaround to get my resume off the laptop quickly, I sent it internally to a teammate with a request for feedback. he sent it back to me from his phone and I have saved it to the tablet I'm making this post from now. I have a couple tweaks I want to make to it before I throw my hat in for the three jobs I've found so far that look promising. one is a QA role like what I've been doing, except focusing solely on the artwork for the finished packaged goods (hybrid). another is a little more technical and involves qualification of process equipment (on-site), and the one that popped up this morning is a fully remote lateral move to another company. fingers crossed something lands!

I couldn't pull up the color on the Behr website this morning, but when I put the shade name straight into Google, it came up. Haze (ICC-22) you've been here to see it up against the sea blues and the rest of the nautical colorings. here's the listing pics from my old condo. you can scroll through to the living room pics to see the same tan up against my brick red couch and chairs, and other stuff. link

beige-ish colors can be tricky. I can't stand any that have a yellowish or pinkish hue.

DH and I had resigned ourselves to the reality that Bill the Dog had gone off to a corner of our property to die. Bill the Dog is 16 -years-old. This is definitely something we’re prepared for.
We looked a lot of places but we have an 1.5 acres so didn’t have enough time to look under every bush before we had to leave for work.
DH went back home at 10:30 to look again. He saw that a door to our “under the house” area was open. It’s like a basement, but it’s completely dirt floor and the distance from the ground to the base of the house varies from a few feet to ten feet.
Billy had fallen in there but he is alive and all in one piece.

Quick grocery run this morning and community meeting tonight with 40+ politicians making a pitch for our love and votes. Up at 5:30 for long bus ride to College Station to tour the American GI museum followed by lunch at a Cajun place. Nothing too exciting for the weekend, just cleaning, cooking and laundry. I can't believe Tuesday is October 1, September was a crazy fast month

Workday survived, including scary/obnoxious meeting and findtime sh!tting the bed in front of collaborators-scheduled the meeting anyway, ha. I hate microsoft. I also spent an hour cutting someone else’s ridiculously detailed report down to something vaguely resembling the high level overview it was supposed to be. That was satisfying. I did resort to taking a full ‘azepam (legit prescribed and all) towards the end though. And I think that’s probably the right choice. Felt myself spiraling, did something about it. Much happier now

Passing that test was 60%
I got 24%
Got the rejection email two minutes ago.
I want to cry I feel like I'm back in HS where every test just reinforced how stupid I actually am.

Drama, repeat after me. YOU ARE NOT STUPID. You were trying to pull things out of your memory from way back when. I can't do that with lots of things I learned in high school, college and grad school. Please don't be so hard on yourself.

Riding out Helene in a hotel along with several people from my building. Still have power but that’s probably not going to last forever. Hopefully able to go home tomorrow as I’ve been watching my neighbors cat while she’s in the hospital! I left a clean box, plenty of water and food but of course I feel nervous. I know cats are independent but he’s my responsibility. I’d be safer in my building as I’m on the 7th floor and my car is on the 2nd floor but I’m in zone A so evacuation is mandatory.
