Gomez went on the lam 3 times when I lived in my apartment.  I printed out a LOST CAT notice with a description of the brat and hung one on all the mailboxes.  Each time, I got a call from where someone had last seen him and I was able to retrieve the brat.  Get as many eyes looking for him as you can.  

Last time, I had no more than hung up the last notice and I got a call.  Yep, it was him.  I grabbed him, threw him into my apartment and then had to go around taking down all the notices.

My workday today was “interesting”. A few months ago, a lady that worked on the evening shift got a job working in my area, on my shift. I’ve worked with lazy people, but I’ve never worked with someone that didn’t at least try to pretend they worked.

During our whole 8 hour shift, we only got done what should have taken maybe 3 hours, MAX. That wench that I had all the problems with a month or so ago, was in charge today. I didn’t want any shit from her, so I made it clear to her all day that I was it the problem. I told her that normally I would go help get things moving (and I do, even though I don’t have to), but I’d already been over there and she was lounging and scrolling on her phone, so while I don’t mind helping, I’m NOT going to do her work for her.

I load what I’ll call widgets into a machine, and they travel to the other part of my area, to be sorted into one of about 100 containers, according to what kind of widget it is. I pick up every single widget that gets processed, to send them to the other part of my area, and a lot of them are heavy. When I was hired, I was required to be able to lift and carry up to 70lbs. 

But where the widgets go to, where the lady was working today, there are robots that pick the widgets up and put them in the appropriate container. So, at most, she has to pick up maybe 1/4 of the widgets I do, and that’s only if the robots are being whiney bitches that day. So, hell no, I’m not going to pick up those same widgets I’d already picked up once to send them over, because she’s playing on her phone, or just literally sitting down chilling. 

Today was really unbelievable. A couple years ago, they had a contractor come in and replace all the lights on the workroom floor. If the lights don’t detect motion for about 20 minutes, they turn off. At one point today, the lights went off, which made it clear she wasn’t even over there. They stayed off for at least 20 minutes, until the wench supervisor walked through there. Most of us have enough sense to keep the overhead lights on, even if we aren’t actually working. You don’t have to be close to an area to see that it’s dark, which means nobody is in that area. This lady clearly just does not care.

The wench supervisor was just filling in this weekend so our real supervisor could have his days off. But she ended up calling him because the other lady just refused to work, so now our real supervisor is coming in tomorrow, on his day off. What we needed to get done today, was left over from what should have been done yesterday. We didn’t come anywhere close to finishing yesterday’s work (even though we could have if the other lady would’ve actually worked), so never got to today’s work. 

Idk what’s going to happen tomorrow, but as long as nobody says anything to ME about today, I’m good. Even though I don’t like the wench anymore, as hours went by, I went over several times and did stuff to get things moving, even though I’d kept saying I wouldn’t. I didn’t do it for her, I did it because I get paid to move widgets, and they weren’t moving….. even though it wasn’t my fault. But there was only so many times I would do her work for her while she played on her phone or just plain disappeared, so we still didn’t get much done.

I’ve moved a LOT more widgets many times, running the whole area by myself. In the ‘hood, people that play dominoes believe and say that  “ALL money ain’t good money”. At work I say “all help ain’t good help”. It’s true. I’d rather do it all myself, which is really the work of 2 people at minimum, and at least 4 if you really want shit to happen, than work with someone that’s playing crazy and not working. Besides the fact that even though I’m lazy……I’m not a thief, and I prefer to do the work I get paid to do……….. being busy also seems to make the workday go by faster.

My job is basically to follow instructions. I make as much or even more in some instances, than a lot of people that have more responsibility than I do. My base salary is also more than a lot of people who have college degrees. I am very grateful for that. I am grateful for my job and income, period, even though I’ve never really liked the work I do. I’m not ambitious enough at this point in my life, to try to increase my income, because I know that will come with more responsibility. If I really wanted to increase my income, I could just work some OT and make 6 figures, and I would still have no responsibilities beyond just doing MY job.

I lost Dali Thursday night-Friday morning.
My mother left the balcony open overnight. He jumped out. We've been looking for him, calling him, posted on Facebook and local lost pets websites, let the neighbors know so if they see him to alert me.

We haven't found him and I think he's gone.

I feel like someone has hit me with in the head with a very heavy object.
I feel like I'm in a nightmare and I'm going to wake up any moment, but no, this is my reality.

I told my mom a couple of weeks ago I have to microchip him but busy with work and activities I didn't get around to do it.
Of course I'm kicking myself for not doing it.
My mother is kicking herself for forgetting to close the balcony.

Right now, I'm going to bed. I took a sleeping pill, which I never do. But I havent slept since this happened.
I'm angry at mom, angry at myself, at the world in general and also with people who try to help but make stupid suggestions, recommendations, etc.

First of all Im worried about him.Second I'm worried about myself. He changed my life and gave me such a positive presence, company, etc.
It's hard for me to grasp this.And I can't believe life can be so cruel, for one mistake since I got him. I've always been careful. It was one time my mom wasn't careful.
Most cats find their way home but he doesn't?
I hope I can get a few hours of sleep.

Lol @ myself. I just looked at the purchases on the card to see when I last used it. It was at the theatre. We went to a musical production of The Full Monty last Friday night. I put them in my little black purse to take with me that night instead of taking my normal purse.

I'm going to be leaving as soon as we can after renting a car at this end. A rental, so we can leave it in Virginia when we return in the cargo van (I hope!) or 12-foot truck (I'm afraid it will be) on Tuesday. Hope to get to Maryland early enough for dinner with DD.

The hotel we're staying at tonight is a Hilton Doubletree. They offer e-check in and a digital key you upload to your smart phone. I'm going to try and get one as soon as they open up the function. You also pick your room before you get the key. And, you can share the key up to 3 times with other people. I hope it works.

The e-check-in works well.  The Digital Key works maybe 30% of the time without going to the front desk when you arrive.  It always seems there's something they need to do in the computer to activate it so you end up waiting in line anyway.  It works after that, though.  I was in a hotel last week that didn't have electronic keys and it was weird having to remember the plastic one.

The birds are back at the feeders.  I'd been gone for 4 days and they were all picked clean.  I feel so bad that this will happen next month when I'll be gone over 3 weeks.  The feeders are hanging for a roof 2 stories up and are accessible only from the windows of the enclosed porch so I can't even ask a neighbor to stock them unless they have a key.

No clue. We were on vacation 2 weeks ago (came back a week from today) so it could have be anywhere and I went back to work this week. I also have 2 kids, germ-cities. We are going to test our youngest as she’s had a cold all week. So far, DH and DD1 appear to be good. 🤷‍♀️

We just got rid of a CSR like that. She was working remotely and when my boss called her (during work hours) to fire her, she was asleep. She was completely worthless.
