If I'm not still sick I have a job interview on Friday at 3.
Fingers crossed.
I just don't think current job can say or do anything to undo the damage. Unlike J I am not willing to stick things out at this place for 15 years till they maybe finally reward me.
Not when I can get where I want someplace else.

Still processing the ridiculousness of the past couple of hours. Bio nut was 45 mins late to psychology appt for teen. She hadn't left her house yet when we arrived and teen texted her to confirm she was coming. Luckily doc still kept appt. I had called today and said that teen needed to be seen alone so nut couldn't take over appt. I reiterated that when we checked in. When nut arrived, doc came out and said mom or teen could come in first. Teen said mom go. Nut heads back, two seconds later, doc comes back out to reception to grab a box of tissues. Okay... 45 mins later, doc comes out and calls teen back. I've been keeping a chart of her episodes, meds, questions, doctors, etc that I printed for her to take in. Meanwhile nut marches up to admin and proceeds to make next appt says doc said 2-3 weeks so let's go for 3. What location? Oh, downtown well that pushes it out another week. What time? 10 sounds good bc sure, why not make us drive farther and have teen miss the most school possible. Oh and sure, I'll just continue to clear my work schedule for whenever suits you. Nut then disappears and I think oh great she left without telling teen bye and whew she left or ugh maybe she's waiting in the hallway with latest baby daddy. Teen comes out 30 mins later and nut slides back in so she must have been close by watching. Doc asks nut to sign off on release for her to talk to school. Also asks for release to talk to me. Nut actually says this ain't none of her business. Doc says it's best for everyone taking care of teen to be on the same page so think about it. I'd decided to wait to ask nut to fill out medical release for oral surgery when teen came back to waiting room to put nut on the spot and pressure her even though I hate to play that game. So I hand her paper and say teen needs you to sign this so children's hospital neurology can clear her for oral surgery by the end of the day or teen loses Friday appt which may have already been cancelled by their office for lack of response. Nut says I don't need to sign it because teen doesn't need surgery, she can just go back to main Medicaid dental place and they can pull it. Teen jumps in and says mom I've been there 3 times - once for consult and antibiotics, once to attempt to pull it, and once to attempt again with more senior dentist and they couldn't numb me enough. Nut says you haven't seen them, where was I? At which point I realize that she really wasn't aware of those appts bc she gave me medical proxy at the main Medicaid provider which happens to include dental, but I kept my mouth shut tight. Nut argued with teen and teen was like, mom I was in the chair screaming in pain both times and these teeth aren't coming out unless I'm put under. Nut says why do they need children's to sign anything. Teen says mom they need to know if my seizures are a problem with anesthesia. Teen also said I can't keep going to school in pain for this so just sign. Nut says okay and teen says sign here and nut says no, I'll take it and fax it. I said you can't just fax to number on form bc that's fax for oral surgeon not children's. She says have teen send me fax number. Teen says you don't even have a fax, just let Azucena do it. She got mad and said no. In the elevator she asks if teen is going back to school. Teen fibs and says yes. She'd only get back with less than an hour left and then it takes almost 30 mins to get back out of parking lot mess. Teen has been pushing for online school which I was 50/50 on because she's so social. Psych said not great bc it's too isolating and teen needs to train her brain to overcome episodes as much as possible. Seems like some psychologists are also therapists but not this one. Good thing I left her new therapist new patient appt ride for Sat. Realized that I haven't done any of paperwork for it yet or thought thru how to get nut's consent. Ugh! I'm on the fence of if I should follow through on hotlining some/all of this as medical neglect. I'd have to go on record as the caller and then I feel like I risk what little bit nut is working with us. I'm too nice, right? What say you?Gleefully going to send $750 first ambulance bill to nut. It came in teen's name to my address but she's underage so it can't be her bill. Really they just need the insurance form filled out and Medicaid will pay bill. I can't even with this. To me, bio nut is less mature mentally and emotionally than her daughter and is 100% intent on making this all about her. She even tried to hijack today's appointment and make it about HER issues while abdicating all responsibility for her child.

This month's water bill is $218 and no rain in sight unless something tropical develops late this month which I DO NOT want. Electric is $238. September always sucks bill-wise.

Nut took the paper and is supposedly faxing it in yet today which is likely too late given children's hospital would also need to send it to oral surgeon yet today.

Boston area is approaching a month since we've had measurable rain, which is nuts. the record is 44 days, says Google, but still. we've got overnight rain on the forecast for this week, I hope you get some NON-TROPICAL rain soon.

Soup, you remember better than me. I had forgotten all about that. I have to pull the docs out from the attorney to see how to word it.
I have so much going on with insurance changes I'm neglecting other things. But I'm getting there.
We have hubs supplement and paperwork coming from his pension but not his drug coverage yet.
Today I had Nexlizet transferred from back home and ended up with a 3 month supply for $0!! The agent transferring it said since I was in the catastrophic phase he would get me back in that, but I wasn't sure. Need to check Cigna and see, that saved me hundreds of dollars. They charged hubs a copay for his med so have to get that transferred. And realizing in October need to look again.
We went to the d u m p today to dispose of a piece of filthy carpet in the garage and paint cans left over from the other owner. We got rid of 10 gallon cans over at the d u m p for free. Then found we could do it several other places, one being Habitat for Humanity Store. They will take 20 gallons a day so now we know. That d u m p was the most well organized, cleanest place I have seen. Talk about impressive, I was shocked. It did cost us $16 for the carpet but that's ok, they did it by weight. We still have an old mattress to get rid of from the other modular and that is all the big stuff. Nothing is very far away here, think it was 11 miles to it.
We hit our meat market again for a couple of Ribeyes, sausage, bratwurst, and ground beef plus a big bag of french fries that hubs likes. The sausage was only $3.99 a pound, the extra lean ground beef $5.99, steaks $14 each and bratwurst $7.99 a pound. I still haven't made it to the seafood shop not far from it. And yes we are going to get a small 5 cubic foot freezer, nothing big like we had.
It is 62 out today and dreary plus drizzly so furnace on and warm in here.
I am lucky to still have my dear hubs and DD, they make me happy.

My Cherokee Purple tomatoes got a second wind about a month ago. Those tomatoes are ripening up now. DH and I just ate a couple for dinner. He wanted bacon and scrambled egg sandwiches. The tomatoes were extra! They are really good.
I think late summer tomatoes are sweeter. We will enjoy them while we have them.

azucena I have never been a parent but I can see that woman does not want to help her daughter. She isn't even trying to act in her best interest. It IS about her and not about her child. A child that is in pain because her mother won't sign paperwork. You and BT have a special relationship and she needs someone in her corner. You have been chosen to be that person. She trusts you. Sadly, she doesn't trust her bio mom.

The eye exam place was sort of funny today. I check in for my appointment and the person asks if I have insurance (already asked and answered on the forms I filled out online last week) and I said no, I'm self-pay. She says that will be $119 for the exam and I'm like "Okay, cool." After the exam I pay and didn't look at my receipt until I got home. She only charged my CC for $39! So I call and she says "You have XYZ insurance and they will pay the rest" and I'm "No, I don't have insurance, I told you that when I checked in, I've never had insurance in the 5 years I've gone to you etc." So she finally agreed to charge my CC for the remaining $80 and text me the receipt.

What is the age of medical consent where you live? Here in Quebec, it's 14. Any kid over the age of 14 can make their own medical decisions. That's why I was able to give Gardasil vaccinations to any child, 14 and up...whether the parents agreed with it or not. "Miss, my parents won't find out, will they? They'd KILL me they knew I was contemplating having sex, and I just want to protect myself." "No, they won't find out. I have to give you a Proof of Vaccination when you leave, but what you do with it afterwards is none of my business. Good for you, wanting to protect yourself." A lo of parents were from the Middle East and sex before marriage was unthinkable, and often severely punished. Sometimes, with death.

A child of Jehovah's Witness parents can refuse OR accept blood if he's over 14. I know it seems awfully young, but it can save lives.

I know I'm babbling about my new glasses but. I liked the ones I saw originally but then the awesome guy at Costco saw I was a little bit hesitant about the bright gold since I think silver looks better with my silver hair. So he goes prowling through his sample drawer and finds a paler gold version AND a version with a squared off bottom to the frame versus the rounded one I had tried originally which suits my face shape way better. DH was sort of into the bold gold, so the guy calls over a female staffer and asks her to weigh in on the color choice and she agreed with me that the paler gold works better with my skin and hair. And that's what I ordered. When three people say, "Mama, you are gonna look hot!" you know you made the right pick.

I get why you hope that not calling Nut in for medical neglect might have better consequences than calling would, azucena, but it's not working. Walking on eggshells in hopes for a better result does no good. Call. BT needs you to.

azucena I'd also continue to have the bills sent to her. Once she realizes that she's on the hook for those bills, I'm guessing she may well decide that oh well, she'll just sign the forms instead. You are an angel. Her credit is screwed and she's been using bonus teen's. Plus medicaid will 100% cover it if she just fills out the paper. I'd totally fill it out but she refuses to give us a copy of teen's medical card. Age of medical consent is 18 in missouri. One doctor a few months ago hinted at it being 16 for obgyn but not sure how that helpcars. Hotline call made. Didn't sound promising bc she hasn't technically made us miss Friday appt yet. And she's allowed to make the follow up psychology appt wherever is convenient for her. Doesn't sound like any of the facts I reported are enough to even make them call her and sternly tell her to do the damn paperwork. Tomorrow I need to update legal aid. Given they weren't able to help us when teen was hospitalized, I'm not holding my breath. They aren't supposed to tell me anything so I start each email with I know you can't talk to me, but I will be continuing to share key facts in the hopes that you can help bonus teen. Even sitting in waiting room today, I was legit vibrating thinking that woman could say teen come home with me now and we'd have a huge public spectacle on our hands. And I think there is a tiny, tiny part of teen that might consider it in the hopes that nut would do better. Softball for me tonight and therapy tomorrow.

You are keeping on with the pattern and making folks away/leaving a trail. That is good. It took me until I was nearly middle aged to understand that my mom wasn't changing and be OK with it. Or at least not so angry about it. Of course us kids want our moms to look at us and say "you motivate me to do better. I want to do better for your sake." I think especially with the mother/daughter thing. And of course, the inclination is for the child to assume there's something wrong with them that they aren't a good enough reason for a mom to make herself better. DS is my rock. DD1 made me want to be a better person. I was very angry at my mom for a long time after I had DD1. Why wasn't I ever good enough? Worthy enough? It wasn't until my dad died a few years ago that I truly realized in my heart of hearts that it wasn't me.

I threw in the towel at about 6 today.
The peanut had her MRI. Which got delayed because the orders weren't correct, and it took some time to get that straightened out.
I am done.

It's a very long journey indeed to understand it's not us. It never, ever was, but it's been in our heads for a long time and that's not easy to evict. If I had a child, that would be the one message I would want to share with her/he/them.

How in the world does one give a cat who does not like to touched ear drops twice a day?!?! So far, she has ear infections and is getting her anal glands expressed. Glad it's not me doing it! We'll find out about the kidneys on Thursday. Oi I feel your pain. Our semi feral cat has allergies and I'm the only person who make her take meds. Normally spring allergies but if not treated she has gets sinus infections and other respiratory issues. It is not pretty but I get it done. I mentioned to DH that she has been sneezing all day and not too interested in food so she likely needs meds. She still likes me most, but it is iffy.

This month's water bill is $218 and no rain in sight unless something tropical develops late this month which I DO NOT want. Electric is $238. September always sucks bill-wise. oh man, I don't miss water bills (the ones I was most likely to just forget to pay) since I'm on a well now. Boston area is approaching a month since we've had measurable rain, which is nuts. the record is 44 days, says Google, but still. we've got overnight rain on the forecast for this week, I hope you get some NON-TROPICAL rain soon. We are on a well too. The severe drought in VA this year has dramatically changed the PH of our water and we now have to upgrade our water softener. Which is enough $$, but add in having to reconfigure our utility room to accommodate means more $$. On the plus side I heard today that my promotion may go through next month. With DH still out on LTD I'd like to have that cushion.

I may have tried my first carbliss flavor that I don't like.
Black cherry.
I may have had some candy corn before it.
Perhaps that was not the best idea.

How in the world does one give a cat who does not like to touched ear drops twice a day?!?! So far, she has ear infections and is getting her anal glands expressed. Glad it's not me doing it! We'll find out about the kidneys on Thursday. Oi I'll join the vet fun. DS is taking one of our cats in tomorrow morning to get her ears checked. Animal bills are kicking my ass lately.
At least I cured my chicken. One of them anyhow. Now, I have another one with crop issues.

I found out that in 2024 once I'm out of catastrophic costs for drugs then its zero cost, so that was why my pills cost nothing. Apparently this is new this year. And the costs are to be that for the rest of the year. I only have 3 expensive ones the rest are very cheap.
That will sure help a lot of folks. I also read the max deductible they can charge is $545, that's what mine was. I'm paying a higher premium next year I think, it covers more. With Cigna there are 3 levels and I like their plans. I was able to go from my Cigna in Indiana to Cigna in Washington. The licensed broker that helped me made sure I did not have to meet my deductible again.

It has been zero costs once you are in catastrophic for years now. The donut hole is closing though.

Weltz after you pay something like $5k you are in the catastrophic phase, after $8k you get into the phase that drug costs are zero, a change this year with the inflation act apparently.
Soup my understanding is Medicare will pay for the glasses exam but not the glasses. That is what my eye doc did.
That is next for DD and I to get new glasses, I think I will try Costco and see what they offer. We have been paying $1000 each for glasses. And then I need 2 new caps. I've let it go because the dentist I used couldn't do it before I left. I gave the one appt to DD for her tooth as it was broken and had been hurting her. I took her to someone else and he said nothing was wrong with it. There was, so wanted her not to be in pain. Mine are not hurting yet, but dentist said don't wait to long as they will.
