So my cousin had a conversation with his friend for me. I told thank because I didn't want to be mean to his friend. I also told him that sometimes I hate that my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. He wasn't impressed.

Bonus teen just got a nasty text from her mom about how dare I reschedule her oral surgeon appt. Um, you mean the appt that I did all the legwork for including calling multiple times to get teen bumped up the cancellation list?! For a toothache that started while she was still living with her mom earlier this year but didn't bother to tell her because she knew her mom couldn't be bothered based on past experience. Guess that answers the lingering question of if she would sign over medical POA to make life easier. Oh and excuse me for calling to update oral surgeon with seizure diagnosis. You know something they might want to know for her safety under anesthesia. Also included was a rant about how I took teen on vacation two hours away without her permission because yanno that was probably the 'real' root cause of this 'seizure nonsense'. And sure it makes sense to text all this directly to teen instead of me - that's a totally helpful way to minimize teen's stress induced episodes. All this and she's technically still the school's first call if teen has an episode tomorrow at her first day back at school. Fingers crossed school social worker gets involved and accidentally misdials that number. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to take bonus teen to college fair complete with fully curated list of schools she should consider based on criteria that she and I brainstormed together while in the hospital last week. My blood is boiling and I might need to borrow our 2x4. Who's currently in possession? <end rant> I may have to drive there even I don't own a separate freezer.

If you want a tomato sauce that cuts the acid, Marcella Hazan's Bolognese uses a cup of milk, some carrots, and celery. For years I made this and served it with rigatoni and besciamella (béchamel sauce). Always got rave reviews.
It has to simmer 3 to 4 hours, so you have to be around to deal with that. Once you've got it to the simmer stage, you can use the crock pot to do the simmering.

I'm heading to bed shortly, expecting another bout of insomnia at 3am that isn't really that, since I'll have 6h of sleep under my belt by that point. I just chatted a bit with my sister about how to tact edit a text I need to send the crazy woman next door, since she has my number now. time to start creating a paper trail to protect LD. this morning, I spent 20min trying to peel him off my stockade fence while she sang opera in her backyard, while pacing ariund with her own dog. I wish I was kidding. would a reasonable person maybe stop for 5min to maybe help their neighbor remove a troubled animal? I even asked that, and she just kept fucking singing. I have no words for this woman, but if she has my cell#, I'm gonna start documenting the overly ridiculous like today.
have a good night, all.

I haven't been able to tie it to any food, but I definitely am having more trouble with acid indigestion as I get older. Last night, it got caught in my throat and was awful. I have found that eating a half dozen or so saltines help. Aw carp! That sounds like pregnancy all over again.

We got one shelving unit up with 4 shelves and put a lot of Christmas stuff on it. Hubs was tired so we quit. We hope to get another up plus the stuff we are taking off and I think I can get my car in the garage after that. Will sure help it stay clean. I want to put up a little screen and put my trash cans behind it instead of in the garage too.
And yesterday and today snake 7, 8,and 9. Two survived. Mouse 3 yesterday.
Hope hubs can paint the bathroom and our bedroom ceilings, then I can paint the side walls and likely the doors and baseboard in there. They scratched the door and frame up in there. That will be 2 rooms clean then I can do something in there about the flooring.
Grandson wanted to come over tonight but I'm tired. Hubs said we will likely have him Thursday night and the weekend. He said that is enough for me. It is while we are still trying to get the house in order. But neither of us is over the tiredness of COVID.
DIL had to go up and mow her nieces yard for her. They went somewhere and they were the ones that cared for her dogs and fish. It's almost to Seattle, son got home in time to get him.
We are both pooped out tonight.
I'm making stuffed poblano peppers for dinner.

I just kind of made up the recipe. Ground beef, yellow bell pepper, onion, rice with beef flavoring, then added mild salsa. I will add 4 cheese Mexican to some of the stuffing and also put it on top. Waiting for the peppers to soften, I'm boiling them. Takes the heat out too so DD can eat them. After prepping them will bake for 15 or so minutes so the cheese melts. Hope they are good.

I did not realize the extensive theater work he had done until I was reading his obituary.

I am not caught up on this thread, imma go back and read to catch up. Something is bothering me, that I have just briefly mentioned before. It is about how YD dresses, and when I did mention it andi9899 said that YD is an adult and too old for people to be concerned about what she is wearing. I understand and agree that even if a woman is butt naked, that doesn’t give anyone the right to mistreat or abuse her in any way. But at the same time, as a woman myself, and as a mother of a daughter, I feel like it is a bad idea for a young woman to be out in public in what is not much more than a bikini that would be worn at a pool or on a beach. I had a conversation years ago, with a relative that is older than me, and I told her that we (women) can be sexy with how we dress, without revealing all of our goodies for the world to see. For me, that meant that if I wore a top that put my (nonexistent without “help”) cleavage on display, my bottom half didn’t need to be exposed too. Or if I wore short shorts, my top half didn’t have to be nearly naked. My point was that a woman can be attractive and sexy without showing everything there is to see about her body. And that is what I am dismayed about with YD. I am sure that she would say that she dresses the way she does, just because she wants to. But even though I am old now, if we could have an honest conversation, I would tell her that I got plenty of action and attention from men, without me going out half naked and with my butt cheeks hanging out. It’s not really my business how she dresses, as andi pointed out. I am just stating the reasons that I have with how YD often dresses, which is my mind has more to do with her and her safety more than it does with me and my life. You have a right to believe what you believe. We all do. There are plenty of things the girls do that I don't agree with. I just have to keep reminding myself that they're grown and can do what they want. It sucks, but it is what it is. And how many of us still dress the way our moms/grandma's dressed when they were our age and/or the way they wanted us to dress? Styles change. Hopefully the idea that women's bodies are on display for men (no matter how they're dressed) is changing too. I'm not saying I've never been surprised by someone's outfit. I don't like super short shorts. But plenty of men run in my neighborhood shirtless (which I also find distateful) and no one cares or even really notices. They're arguably way more naked than any women I see but we're conditioned to think 1 is OK and the other isnt/is a character fault.

I just killed an enormous brown recluse. I hate living next to the woods but just put in an offer on a mostly wooded property. Make that make sense.

I’m not sure that this is not the in thing. At my niece’s wedding, I know of at least 3 boobs that escaped their dresses. This was a formal wedding. All of these were in the 24-28 age group, and NONE of them thought anything of it, just tucked the boob back in and went on their way.

Good morning, diligent invisipeeps, even as you suffer nose bleeds and indigestion while buying houses and shoes. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope your day goes beautifully and leaves you large and in charge of your life. Today I only have bringing DD to PT on the agenda, plus order more prints on canvas. There is one image that I sell pretty much every show that I have it printed on canvas. Need to get more. Yesterday was R&R, a Costco run and a pick up of Franklin the Dog. I took this a year ago in a deep fog:

So TD was up all night long. It might have been the 2 pots of tea we drank while waiting to check in. His sleep issues have really been a factor on this trip. Of the 12 days we’ve been gone, I’d say he’s gotten maybe 5 decent nights sleep.
When we were driving to Cork, he needed to pull into a parking lot for a nap. It was only a little over an hour drive. This is starting to have me seriously concerned at this point. We are supposed to drive the Ring of Kerry today, which is supposed to be a rather hair raising drive. I’d prefer him to do it better rested.

Yeah. It's like aww man. And also, he was pretty old. I didn't know he was 93. I also didn't know he was practically mute as a kid either. He lived a very long interesting life. On of my favorites is when he was on the Big Bang Theory. I bust a gut every time I watch that episode. "Let me guess you like Star Wars?" "Me too!" Apparently that was the first time Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones met in person. They were never on set together during the filming of the trilogy.

perimenopause question, for those a little older than me - I've had the weird sleep patterns for awhile now, among other symptoms some of you have mentioned. Shark Week hit yesterday, a full 2 weeks later than expected. is this just how it is now, that it arrives whenever? just curious what to expect. TIA.

Ovaries take turns, so if one starts slowing down, but the other is still on schedule, you will start noticing maybe 15 days between, and then maybe 30 days or 40 days. FTR, I never experienced common symptoms either when younger or when things started changing. I just considered the whole process an inconvenient royal pain in the a$$. I am 10 years done now, but last year I experienced symptoms of a prelude to a monthly event and that confused the hell out of me. I am trying to be delicate because guys do participate in this thread and not everyone is comfortable with the topic.

But yes, you can go longer stretches between your "monthly visitor". I actually had to go on medication, because instead of the curse lasting for only a week, I'd be dealing with it for 6-7 weeks straight, to the point that I'd be feeling faint. My hot flashes are still total a$$holes, and show up whenever they feel like it, usually in the middle of the night. My sleep pattern has been messed up for quite awhile, so just sleep when you can. Amazing how those naps you didn't want to take as a kid sound so good now.

I was always pretty regular. Then it started like every other month. Then there were almost 3 months where it was almost every other week, and then it just stopped altogether. I am at 3 years now. They stopped when I was 46. ETA - The hot flashes are seriously no joke. My worst symptom so far.
