I'm going to the in-law dinner tomorrow. At least as of right now I'm going to support dh. I could still change my mind. I'm still frustrated for a lot of reasons.
It was dh's birthday yesterday and his parents didn't say anything to him about it. They did call and ask him to go to the vet with his mom today which he is. They're probably going to euthanize their dog so I get they may be emotional but if it wasn't that it would be something else. Why pour so much money and energy (he's worked 6 days in a row, well over 60 hours now when he can usually barely handle 4) into people who give you only scraps and will never be able to validate or care for you the way he so desperately needs and wants.

DH told me to check for an appointment to get our new puppy neutered at the Wisconsin Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic this am. I have been trying to get an appointment for about a month, with no luck. I thought to myself, they won't have added anything on a Friday, but I checked anyways. They had two appointments left for December 6th. It is $250 for the Neutering, $16 for the one year rabies shot, then you can get Bordatella and DHPP for $16 each, and Microchip for $25. I have also taken my Dogs to MADAC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control) for Vaccines in the past. Both my older dogs are due for a Rabies Booster.
I asked DH if he wanted to wait that long, and he said take it.
We are not poor, but we save $$ where we can, I figure if you live high, you are just spending $$ that should be saved for your retirement years.

I say do it for your DH. I've been the child begging for scraps from your parents - it effing sucks, but it takes a lot to change that mentality.

I must be just barely a marginal human being. Granted, I can cook fish and like my concoctions but someone else better do the fish catching and cleaning or there will be no fish served.
Worse yet, there is that "letting your kids play in the rain" stuff. When we lived in Bangkok ISB (no, I do not mean irritable bowel syndrome, it is a school) had a baseball and a soccer season for the kids. The soccer season was during the rainy season and they only stopped practice and games whenever there was lightning. The kids were covered from top to bottom in mud on the regular. And this is where my marginal person/bad mom traits came into play: before any kid was allowed in the car to get back home I would hose them off with a garden hose. And I did not just do it to my kids, any other kid we took home (we had a company car available that came with a company provided driver) was subjected to the same treatment. No gentle dancing in the rain...a garden hose after or during a tropical downpour. Marginal at best as I said.

Paging andi9899. What would you do to conceal a bruise on the face? I have some tinted foundation powder, nothing liquid. Do I need to buy something? I don't want to put people off. Do you have a sponge to apply it with instead of a brush? It will give you better coverage. Sorry, I just saw this.

I went down a deep philosophical worm hole last night. A post about Freddy Mercury popped up on my Facebook feed. He would have been 78 yesterday. I did not realize he died in 1991. So then I looked up when ART therapy was brought onto the market. It was brought to market in 1995. If Mercury had contracted HIV just a few years later than he did he may very well have lived to see his 78th birthday. It was both disquieting and amazing to think about how short a time span that is between HIV being an automatic death sentence to the possibility of seeing old age. The more I read about how the HIV epidemic was handled it is just absolutely disgusting. So many more lives could have been saved sooner if we had gotten off our Puritan pedestal about it being a punishment for engaging in a homosexual lifestyle. I'm going to get political for a second but this is what Republicans want us to go back to in the name of "religious freedom". Many many doctors refused to treat gay men with HIV because they disagreed with the lifestyle and it lead to so much unnecessary suffering and death. Just so those doctors could claim the moral high ground. And this was all in my lifetime. That is the REALLY sobering part for me. Agreed 100% So many people could still be here today.

I chuckled at the first pic. We paid to have fake stone removed from the front facade of our built in 1979 house in Florida before we put it up for sale.

I think the price is a bit high for the updating that needs to be done.

Have an ATT tech coming sometime this afternoon to raise the outside cable so I don't get clotheslined, and made eye exam appointment for the 17th. Got load of laundry in the washer. Ate too much sushi for lunch but no regrets

Thanks a million.

Group prayer for my son appreciated. He has an actual job interview today and another one either next week or the week after (can't remember exactly).
The prayer is because if he doesn't start working soon I'm going to kill him.

I think the price is a bit high for the updating that needs to be done. It's actually not bad. It's in Overland Park where you rarely find anything liveable for under $300K. I'm still going to try to low ball it though.

lunch with S was delish, relaxing, and fun to catch up. I'm currently half in a food coma from what I ordered, and parked on the deck with men's tennis streaming on the tablet. at 330pm, the lawn guys still haven't gotten here yet. that's odd, and I'll be putting in a note with the office closer to EOB if they don't get here today. anyway, what I ordered was a fall special I saw on this restaurant's FB post earlier this week. butternut squash ravioli in a sage cream sauce, tossed with caramelized onions, cranberries, and sauteed chicken tenders. I ate more than I should have, but it was so delicious! we both had a pair of cocktails off the drinks menu while we sat for a couple hours, and played Keno as well. first, we both had a blueberry lemon drop martini. basically, they added blueberry puree to a typical lemon drop, with a half sugared rim. S had a limoncello martini after that was super tart (I tasted it) and I had their signature martini that was a bit too sweet for me. tasty, but I wouldn't order it again. it had a bunch of fruit juices and a fruity vodka, I can't remember exactly what. but it was a cloudy pink drink.

My parents forgot to acknowledge my sister's birthday one year after I moved here. She was quite hurt. Their only reasoning is they didn't know the date that it actually was. I do that now that I'm retired but mom had a calendar she looked at every day, so I don't know what the problem was.

I think last year dh's parents didn't acknowledge his birthday on the day either. Called him about random stuff (all about them) but nothing about his birthday. His sister has been forgotten on her birthday repeatedly.
It's frustrating on so many levels. Not the least of which is the emotional fall out that I spent 2 decades trying to compensate for. Dh needs to focus on himself to figure that shit out. Not keep focusing on them imo, but it's not my family. He knows I'm out of bandwidth and it wasn't something I could have fixed anyway.

I'm absolutely horrible with remembering birthdays. I need to make a point of putting them all in my Google calendar with reminders because eventually I will forget one of the kid's...I almost did this year when there was so much going on with the house around Carrot's.

I like the yard and it looks like access to it from the garage. At first I thought you'd have to run down to the basement to let the dogs out. I wish there were more pictures or a map of the layout, because they skipped a lot, the other bathrooms, the 4th non-conforming bedroom...

People forget my birthday sometimes because it's on Thanksgiving day that year. My mom forgot last time it landed on that day. I gave her so much crap. I wasn't mad, more just making fun of her forgetting her baby's birthday. My dad doesn't remember anyone's birthday because mom does it for him.

I have accomplished a few things.
The other day I remembered to clean the filter in the dishwasher, not terrible and as dirty as the other place but bad enough.
Also another realtor took pictures of our home, they are 100% better than the first. 8409 W State RD 58, Merom, Ind 47861 Sullivan County.
Today all clean bedding and I'm washing the other, trash out, and I'm off to the grocer. Hubs is doing ok, but he is not trying to do anything either, so I know he is not feeling well. But he will be ok
The dealer had someone interested in my car, haven't heard back. We are thinking of keeping it, son can sell DIL's car and I take the 2018 and bring it up and she takes mine. It will save them money, we will just take whatever they get out of hers in payment. Neither of us cares, we kept asking son and he couldn't decide. Both are very good cars.
Ok need to go do a couple of errands.

The evening will be spent with a volleyball match or 2 and watching Caitlin Clark play after that.
Just the kind of evenings I love.
