I make them on the regular. Next weekend I'll be making a ton of them! Do you deliver? I have a guest room, beautiful weather, a pool (actually there are two of them but they are small), proximity to SF and the Pacific ocean, etc., etc., etc Don't threaten me with a good time! I'll mess around and spend a weekend with you too! I feel like I should rent out weekends with andi. I work for food.

omg...how freaking cute is this girl. Get her! LOL You're going to say that no matter what do I post. I seriously want her, but don't know how to housebreak a puppy when I'm gone 10 hours a day. I'm willing to even pay a petsitter but I seriously can't find one in our town that lets you drop off like a doggy daycare. I've been looking! I freaking hate having to work. I'll hem and haw about this all night and tomorrow she will be gone.

My oldest works full time days too and leaves for college the end of August (although he his home on Fridays because he's 4 tens). Carrot only has a few more weeks before school starts up and he's going to be gone a lot of it. He leaves Sunday for a vacation with one set of grands and the others are taking him the week after that.

Very cute puppy, but I'm still trying to housebreak Lola. Guess who just left me another puddle in the kitchen? And I've been really good about getting her outside every couple of hours, too. D*mn dogs! It's a good thing they're so cute...

I have a full day tomorrow, mostly meetings. One big one that I need to prep for. I need to have polished talking points. I should have gone to bed earlier. I watched the live action mulan instead.

I am so lost right now. I was texting back and forth with my dad about my mom was taken for some tests. That was around 4:00 pm. My dad was still sitting down there getting increasingly upset. Nobody was in the department they all went home. So I called the room. They left my dad down there FOR THREE HOURS. My mom has been back in her room this entire time. HE.IS.PISSED. Pissed to the point where he was yelling at me about wanting to move her. I tried to talk to him but there is no talking to him. He's operating on three hours of sleep and is terrified he made the wrong decision. Mom is a mess on the medication and disoriented she said something about wanting to die today which freaked him out. Bob said not a good idea for me to go out there right now let him have his tantrum and hopefully they don't kick him out. I don't think they would agree to move her and surely when cooler heads prevail he'll agree that isn't a good idea in her condition. The nurse in her room when I called was just "Yeah that happens". WTF?! You could have at least apologized. I warned her that my dad is not going to be happy when he gets back up there and rightfully so. I said not one of you thought to fucking call down there? Or maybe whichever asshole it was operating the desk CHECK to see if someone was still in the waiting area? It's like when they lost Gwen for five hours. They were totally unapologetic concerning the stress they put me through. "These things happen". Uhh considering how much you fucking bill I think the least anyone can expect is you don't lose patients! I said you can't get yourself kicked out mom gets agitated if you aren't there she needs you. I am not sure he is listening right now. I am so tired and I have been crying since my dad hung up. I have no control over anything and can't help anyone. I am so sorry. My relative had surgery earlier this year (twice, actually), and both times he was the last surgery of the day. They forgot I was in the waiting room during the 2nd surgery, so I wasn't getting updates, or anything. The person at the front desk had gone home, and just on a hunch I called in to the hospital, and found out he'd been moved upstairs into a room. It's like, thanks for telling me. And, I wasn't the only one still in the waiting room, so I suspect I wasn't the only one "left behind". I think a lot of hospitals have reduced their staff so much that some are barely functioning. JMHO. That hospital isn't the only one I've had some issues with in recent years. How about sending a patient back to their nursing home, and not contacting family that they've left the hospital? I went to the hospital to visit, and he was gone. Of course, I was praying he hadn't died, but a quick call to the nursing home, and I found out he was back, safe & sound. No wonder I'm getting gray hair!

Audio book - Nightengale by Kristin Hannah. I have become a fan of audio books and miss them when I don't have one to fill time. So easy to multitask with.
I have read that in the past. Just finished reading the four winds, which was excellent too. I borrowed it from the library. I typed Library, and in my head, I am hearing “Library, Library, More than a Book…”

Hospital says this was happening last week but they thought they solved it. Clearly you didn't. Our health care is so broken and not just in regards to cost. I'm so lost. I'm really disturbed by my mom's comments I can't imagine it is real but what if it is? I can't stop turning it in my head. My dad is beyond broken. And I'm sitting here on the internet.

Good morning, extraordinary invisipeeps offering bits of your lives in Y Ma'am. I hope your Thursday gives you satisfaction and then respite from all your cares. Today for me is Pod Day! The Pod was not delivered yesterday after all. They said it was due to a truck breakdown but I'm wondering if it was staffing shortage. As long as it gets here today before 1:00 all is well. That's when family descends to unload it. DH is unhappy with me for not hiring muscle to do the heavy lifting. My DB1, nephews and DSis were adamant that they want to do this, that it's what we do, and we in aggregate are quite capable of doing it. Part of the issue for DH is that he doesn't have family like this, and part is that at 72 and not in great health, he cannot do as much as he would want, himself. I understand. But we are moving ahead as is. Now to get the Pod here. I hope, NomoreDramaQ1015 , you and your family are treated with respect, that your dad gets some restorative sleep and that your mom continues to improve. I am really looking forward to Andi's enchiladas at Chiver's. Where I lived in Maryland had a large Hispanic population and enchiladas, pupusas and tacos were widely available and delicious.

I'm trying to wake up and check my attitude, and get ready to head in to the office. I know where the building is, but I have no idea where to go to get my badge turned on. I also have no idea about parking, since I was told I needed to register my car and get a sticker. I registered, got no response about a sticker, and now I have an out-of-state rental car anyway. oh, and my boss texted last night to ask how I made out with everything, where I was staying and all that. I answered, and asked where he was (the street I'm on has like 15 hotels) and he said he's staying downtown to avoid the car rental mess. so does that mean he's not making an appearance this am and going straight to the boat? that's not going to help my attitude any, at all. I'm over this.

I'm trying to get software installed prior to training. Yes, I should have done it sooner. Silly me thinking if the office of the CIO sponsored the training that the necessary software would be in the software center for me to download.
I've been added to the group supposedly. The run command to force the refresh didn't work so I restarted.

I am so tired. So naturally I am buried alive in samples. Working in a lab being tired isn't an option. I'm having to work 3x as hard to try to control my dyslexia and ADD and I'm not doing a great job of it. This is another one of those times where I wonder if leaving academia was the right choice. I could have hid in the animal room most of the day and still been able to legit claim I was doing my job. I was just taking way longer doing it. If I don't keep running here I'll drown today.

I made it, and the office is really empty. I've counted 10 people so far on this floor, none of whom look even remotely familiar to me. tell me again why I had to come in? at least my one teammate (B) will be coming in. he texted me to say he had mixed up the bus times and that he would actually make it here first. so that's good. he and I are the sort of pair that shouldn't be allowed to sit together in quiet meetings.

Dad has calmed down. He told them they better fix his wife and she won't be coming back if she needs another artery cleaned he will be taking her to Nebraska Medicine.
He lodged a complaint which I agree with. I told him make sure he adds the night nurse if he didn't already because she was really rude to me on the phone and that is NOT something that you respond to with "Yeah that happens". I asked if someone could please go get my dad "Oh he'll figure it out and be back".
WTF bitch?!
I hope the complaint contains every swear word in existence and some new ones too.
I've told DH that while we DQs may be dramatic angry loud people he can be confident that I will fight for him and the kids come hell or high water. They cannot have a stronger advocate for them than me.

An angel from heaven, dressed in work clothes and knee-high rubber boots, showed up at 8:30 this morning to connect us to the City sewer line. I am going to take a shower in a few minutes, right after I try to get a mani-pedi appointment for this afternoon

Sleep deprivation is no joke. My dad was once hospitalized for a month after a surgery. He insisted my mom sleep in the hideabed chair and stay with him every night. It became obvious very quickly that mom was going to land in the hospital if she didn't get some sleep. We had a family intervention in the hospital room and sent mom to a motel room for two nights. What a difference some sleep made. Hospitals can be so taxing on the support person. Nobody goes to the hospital for a really good night's sleep. When my DH was recovering from his crash 3 years ago, I promised myself that I would eat at regular intervals and go to bed early every night just to be able to handle the stress. He was hospitalized for a month and I was there for most days. The anger and the stress was huge for me, but spending time in the waiting rooms with other families enduring tragedy, I was so thankful to be retired. Trying to support someone in the hospital while working and raising a family is massively difficult. Do your best to take care of yourself. Self care is health care!

On my first cup of coffee. Sitting out side on my front porch. Waiting for a custom cabinet maker. Not holding my breath though. This is the third time he’s supposed to show up and zero zip zilch the first two times. Triple digits again today on the topic of heat. Half-day at work today. Dinner with new neighbors. Well, we are the new neighbors.

Bob, J and I intervened on the resturant. We told him we were willing to run it. We can't afford to not be open but my dad doesn't need to be out there on top of everything else. Though pounding a Karen or two into the pavement may do him a world of good. I am intervening on no sleep come Friday. I said I will come up and spend the night. I don't think I'll get him to go home but I said you can sleep because I can stay up, at least until I crash or mom falls asleep. I made it clear I wasn't asking, I'm showing up. And I will bring dinner, whatever he wants.

When mom was hospitalized the last time, dad didn't want to leave. He needed to sleep. Mom intervened and told him to get out of there.
On New Year's Eve, DN2 and DN3 spent the night with Grandma in her room at the hospital so grandpa could sleep. DN2 was in college at the time and DN3 was at his first real job. Yes, they were home for Christmas but I know they each had New Year's Eve plans that didn't involved sitting in a hospital room all night.

I reached out to my dad's oldest friend, the one relative who has anything to do with us and lives in state, mom's best friend and Bob's best friend. IDK if any of them will take my hint but I told them Bob and I are exhausted. Dad won't leave the hospital. If any of the four of them are willing to visit or call it would be a HUGE help right now. Can't think of anyone who can help with the business at the moment. I suppose Bob could try one of our old coworkers but he works A LOT so it might not be feasible.

Trying to figure out who would get their CDL at age 82. Also wondering why someone thought it was ok to put them behind the wheel of a semi. Now we have a claim that is getting denied because the driver doesn’t fit the guidelines. What?!

Cabinet guy showed up, so hopefully that project will make progress! I'll post specifics about it in the home decorating thread.
