Hubs suggested Subway tonight and that's what I bought. Had to go to town to pick up scrips and got it too.
I am so tired today. I took all the trash out, had a bunch. And I did weed and 4 bags of mulch. It is hot and humid out there, so that was it. And poor DD had a problem, so clean up. I had just finished laundry, sigh. Oh well, some things can't be helped.

What?! I make fabulous enchiladas. I will make you some if you're ever in my city. that was a bad thing to remind me of, before you come here. I might put you to work lol... Honestly, I wouldn't be mad about it.

I lost my phone one time and found it in the freezer. I don't usually lose my phone - I listen to books in the car, and I always connect my phone to the sound system...so I never leave the house w/o it. When I got to bed, I plug it in to charge. If I use it, and it falls off the bed, I can find it b/c it is connected to the wall. Only problem is if I fall asleep while I am looking at something I might accidentally send a jibberish message to someone . One nice feature of my new car, is it sends me messages. If I leave my car unlocked or if I left it running, it would send me a message to my cell phone. How did we live before everything was connected? Alexa shows me when there is a package on my front step. I also connected USPS informed delivery, so I can see what I am getting in the mail today. I got one of those Faraday? boxes for my car keys, dropped my keys in it Sunday night and Monday Morning, I told DH I could not find my keys. He told me I think you put them in that box. Duh. The faraday box prevents a thief from cloning the signal from your key fob and steeling your car. I have had to rescue DH a couple of times b/c he locked the keys in the car with the ignition running. Luckily the newer cars will not lock with the keys in the car. DH and I both have left the keys in the door all night. I leave them in the door sometimes if I plan to leave right away. Not a good idea. I'm constantly chasing my phone around. I lose it at least once a day but usually way more.

Light bill this month $26.13
Outside light $10.93 Strike Guard 2.99 Sales Tax 1.52 Connection F 10.69
Total $26.13
Generated 134 more kwh, and generated extra last month, not sure how they are keeping track of that. Also they are saying estimated prior generation. Estimated?? it's right on the meter.

I'm really enjoying Pella, IA. It as a Dutch heritage and i thought they might get too cutesy with it for the tourists, but it's just a nice, well-kept small town with a lot of locally-owned shops in the main business district- far too many excellent bakeries, some good clothing consignment shops and two butcher shops. There are a few good places for jobs including Pella Windows HQ. I went out for a 10-mile bike ride this AM and may do 20 tomorrow.
DDIL's family rented a house and it's wonderful but the bedrooms are a bit crowded. Glad I got a hotel nearby. I'm taking the girls over to the pool soon.

It's not just Pella Corp that have good jobs (although that is where most of my family works), Vermeer manufactures agricultural and industrial equipment that pay well. People who work in the factory at either of those places retire as soon as they can because the job literally kills them.
Pella is known for it's bakeries and you must try the Dutch cookies. Jaarsma Bakery has been there forever.
I was born just down the road and spent 9 years of my life there.

The crew came and dug up to make new connections to the sewer line, but they could not connect us today. They said to go ahead and use the toilets and shower but it's just going to go into the open trench behind our house which is disgusting. I've only urinated once. I am filthy sweaty and need a shower, and tomorrow I will need to go #2 but I just can't deal with this.
The crew might have been able to connect us today but we got a rainstorm which we needed too. DH says we will spend the $20,000 next year to replace our sewer service line which is okay because that's a clear signal we are staying here.

Wow! So many have never tasted an enchilada?!? Yum! This Midwestern girl had her first one in high school. If any of you are making them, give me a call. Totally worth the drive. I make them on the regular. Next weekend I'll be making a ton of them!

Another evening on the deck with the grill going and music playing.
We’re trying something new, pieces of chicken breasts wrapped in bacon.

Audio book - Nightengale by Kristin Hannah. I have become a fan of audio books and miss them when I don't have one to fill time. So easy to multitask with.

I am so lost right now. I was texting back and forth with my dad about my mom was taken for some tests. That was around 4:00 pm. My dad was still sitting down there getting increasingly upset. Nobody was in the department they all went home. So I called the room. They left my dad down there FOR THREE HOURS. My mom has been back in her room this entire time. HE.IS.PISSED. Pissed to the point where he was yelling at me about wanting to move her. I tried to talk to him but there is no talking to him. He's operating on three hours of sleep and is terrified he made the wrong decision. Mom is a mess on the medication and disoriented she said something about wanting to die today which freaked him out. Bob said not a good idea for me to go out there right now let him have his tantrum and hopefully they don't kick him out. I don't think they would agree to move her and surely when cooler heads prevail he'll agree that isn't a good idea in her condition. The nurse in her room when I called was just "Yeah that happens". WTF?! You could have at least apologized. I warned her that my dad is not going to be happy when he gets back up there and rightfully so. I said not one of you thought to fucking call down there? Or maybe whichever asshole it was operating the desk CHECK to see if someone was still in the waiting area? It's like when they lost Gwen for five hours. They were totally unapologetic concerning the stress they put me through. "These things happen". Uhh considering how much you fucking bill I think the least anyone can expect is you don't lose patients! I said you can't get yourself kicked out mom gets agitated if you aren't there she needs you. I am not sure he is listening right now. I am so tired and I have been crying since my dad hung up. I have no control over anything and can't help anyone.

I’ve been craving lasagna for awhile now, but it’s TOO hot for me to want make it. So we compromised and DH made spaghetti tonight. It was delicious. We also had some antipasto that was really good. Now I’m parked on the couch with my feet up, relaxing after a crazy day at work.

I hope you and your dad can hang in there. Hard to notice things with that little sleep and this has to be overwhelming. I overslept today and was late to work as I was concerned as to how bad I would be if I didn't get any sleep. I hope your dad sleeps better tonight so he can deal with things better tomorrow.

Sorry, I was a little incoherent here. The City is replacing their sewer main that serves all the homes in my area. They were unable to connect our PRIVATE line from the house to their sewer main today. That left our PRIVATE line just dumping everything out into the very large hole they dug behind the house. We will probably replace our PRIVATE line from the house to the City sewer main next year because our line is 60 years old and deteriorating fast. I saw and felt our line today when the City folks excavated - it's a concrete line but feels much more like unbaked clay after sitting in the ground all these years. DH was so kind as to point out that our area gym opens at 5 a.m. so I can use the toilet there.

I don’t know what else to say. He's off the ledge he texted me a little bit ago. I told him I am supportive if he wants to move her and she is capable of being moved Nebraska Medicine is a good hospital. BUT I told him you're never going to forgive yourself if something happens in transit so sit on it. Patient Services showed up to do damage control. I asked him how long he has slept. 11 hours total. I told him you're not doing mom or yourself any good. I am willing to come up on Friday and I'll spend the night. He probably won't be willing to leave and I am not sure mom would be okay with it. I said I can come up and YOU sleep. I'll stay up with mom. I said you won't do mom any good crashing, she's going to start focusing on you. I can help. It's not like I can run the resturant Bob and J have that covered. I want to help.

Thanks for the explanation soupandstew. Makes perfect sense now, but sorry your property will be dug up again next year.
p.s. Don't forget to set your alarm for 5AM tomorrow.

My cousin with colon cancer works at Pella Corp and they have been great to her during her illness. She had a baby at 16. Her mother babysat so she could finish high school and attended community college. She then got the job at Pella and has worked her way up in the office. I think she is the only one that isn't working in the factory.

Hospital says this was happening last week but they thought they solved it.
Clearly you didn't.
Our health care is so broken and not just in regards to cost.
I'm so lost. I'm really disturbed by my mom's comments I can't imagine it is real but what if it is? I can't stop turning it in my head.
My dad is beyond broken.
And I'm sitting here on the internet.

Came home early from camping because dd wasn't feeling great. Her covid test was negative but dh came up positive. Really doubting dd results and will try to get her in for a rapid test to double check.
We had fun camping though.
