I’m a fluorescent Irish Fluorescent Irish- So blinding white first day on the beach hurts your eyes. Next day incandescent RED
Sun blockers have decreased the number of these in the wild but can be seen occasionally in a vacation spot. Sometimes amusingly with patterns of white hands on a mostly forgotten expanse of RED skin

I don't burn, but I tan big time. I try and stay out of the sun because I'll get DARK otherwise. My skin would match my hair if I'm not careful. Not me. I'm damn near an albino with brown hair. I have two colors, snow white and ruby red. I am white, on white. I rarely burn, but also don't tan. I've spent 10 days on a houseboat at Lake Powell, doing water sports all day, every day. I used baby oil, no sunscreen and came back white (I had a slight swimsuit line at the end.) The same thing happened when I went to Mexico. The people I went with were burned to a crisp, the first day! I've also tried tanning beds. It's embarrassing. So I no longer wear shorts. Old lady white skin is not attractive, in shorts! I hate it!

I also have two colors. Red and white. I am honestly amazed given how severely I can burn that I haven't died of skin cancer yet. This year I've been practically bathing in sunscreen. Both kids inherited DH's genes and can tan. I am so freaking jealous.

It's nice to watch Maddow and Amelia play with no hissing. I now think she was hissing because her mouth hurt and the rough housing made it worse. It was clear she wanted him to go away. Now she's game for rough housing.

Almost every year dermatologist takes off various amounts for biopsy. Former dermatologist used to take my freckled arm and put in next to my white smooth belly and say ‘ look what sun damage does’ Lady I know, but didn’t have effective sun screen when I was little. Glad she retired and I have a new dermatologist. He’s Indian and has pretty brown smooth skin. I admire the pretty smooth tan skin when Korean women are giving me a manicure. My cousins in Ireland have gorgeous milky white skin

I'm pretty white normally, but can get really tan, same with my older son, although his skin is more of an olive tone to begin with. Carrot? About the best he can do is freckle more.

I'm another one who is almost flouresent white. I saw almost because DD#2 is actually more pale than I am. I freckle easily. I'm the nerd who wears a sun hat and sunglasses plus sets her timer for every 90 minutes to put on sunscreen. I have tubes of sunscreen in each car and each bag.

I've put mine in the fridge and the kitchen sink and left them in the door all night and locked them inside my parents' house which blew because their key was on my keychain inside their house. I've also been really distracted/distressed and freaked out thinking I lost them and they are in the ignition. WITH the car running. ADD can be a bitch sometimes. I lost my phone one time and found it in the freezer. I don't usually lose my phone - I listen to books in the car, and I always connect my phone to the sound system...so I never leave the house w/o it. When I got to bed, I plug it in to charge. If I use it, and it falls off the bed, I can find it b/c it is connected to the wall. Only problem is if I fall asleep while I am looking at something I might accidentally send a jibberish message to someone . One nice feature of my new car, is it sends me messages. If I leave my car unlocked or if I left it running, it would send me a message to my cell phone. How did we live before everything was connected? Alexa shows me when there is a package on my front step. I also connected USPS informed delivery, so I can see what I am getting in the mail today. I got one of those Faraday? boxes for my car keys, dropped my keys in it Sunday night and Monday Morning, I told DH I could not find my keys. He told me I think you put them in that box. Duh. The faraday box prevents a thief from cloning the signal from your key fob and steeling your car. I have had to rescue DH a couple of times b/c he locked the keys in the car with the ignition running. Luckily the newer cars will not lock with the keys in the car. DH and I both have left the keys in the door all night. I leave them in the door sometimes if I plan to leave right away. Not a good idea.

I'm relatively pale but tan easily so exposed parts stay brown-ish all year. Years ago I worked in the sun for 5 straight days and I was an amazing deep brown when I came home.

Nothing to do with this woman is ever simple. I called back after talking to my dad and my grandmother doesn't have a fucking checking account on file. She said I can give her one and we can try but regulations may flag it. Normally they would need grandma to sign that yes this is her account and yes she authorizes her money to be put there. If it was an already established account on file or had been before. .. no problem. But the fact it is a "new" account is what will potentially cause it to raise flags because how do they know that this is grandma's account even though her freaking NAME IS ON IT. Then dad is on it so that raises potentially other flags. I am not going to ask him to try to go up there and remove himself because that would also need grandma's signature and he doesn't need that right now. Plus it sounds like no matter what we do if we try to do it the 2022 way the government is going to flag it. Thanks for protecting everyone from their own money! They also said they could send it directly to the home which HELL NO. I do not need them being sent that sum and then we have no real records they ever got it. Then something happens on their end and either we can't get it back OR they accuse ME of fraud. Which is part of what started this mess some ding dong "lost" my grandma's check and tried to say my dad embezzled it. Her account showed they cashed it several days before, it was their stamp on the check. The less messy way is I have a check for $17k sent to my house. Because THAT is secure. Then I have to drive all the way out to 108th and deposit the damn thing. I don't understand how my dad didn't end up right along side my mom. She might as well have set things up to where it needs to be delivered in a stage coach. I don't understand how she was getting distributions if she didn't have a checking account to wire it to. She couldn't possibly have been getting a check every month then driving to Millard to deposit it? I was quite close friends with our Corporate Counsel who retired about 4 years ago. His Dad was also a lawyer, and when he passed away, my friend was really Mad at him for the way he had everything set up b/c he could have set it up better to reduce the taxes owed. When my friend was trying to decide how to set up his own estate I told him to have his Son who was also an attorney find someone to do the plan. He said but he is a Bankruptcy attorney. I told him they always tell you to ask your Accountant or Attorney, so I am sure they have someone they do referrals to. His wife and his kids I think were very glad that was set up and the one that is a lawyer was telling me how they had to reline the shore with rocks at the lake property and re-install the pier and how expensive it was. I am sure he did not have enough $$ to pay for it himself and he said his Dad was not part of it at all, so he must have been able to access a trust to pay for the work. I keep telling myself I need to do some retirement planning, write a will etc, but have yet to find the time to do it.

I go white to red to tan. My arms tend to get the most of the sun and I came back from Europe with a watch tan this spring. Last year, we went to Belize, then 2 months later to the Maldives. I took the same sandals on both trips, and that was the first time I ever remember getting my feet tanned. My face always has sunscreen on it, and has since I started using it.

I'm going to vent here, if I may. Turns out my relative has an antibiotic-resistant infection, and NO ONE told me. Here I've been visiting him, protected with only my 2-layer fabric mask, while the medical team has been coming in & out of his room fully covered. I thought they were trying to protect him, but they were trying to keep themselves from passing on the infection to others in the hospital. Obviously, I'm not happy. I did some reading on this infection, and it can stay on surfaces for hours. God forbid I bring it home, or pass it on, unknowingly to someone who could be vulnerable. The good news is my relative is very slowly recovering. But he's not completely out of the woods yet. That is unconsciousable to say the very least. What the he** is wrong with these so called professionals? Seems to me we have enough to worry about with Covid still floating around and now Monkeypox spreading like wildfire in certain areas and now "medical idiots" could be exposing the population with yet another infectious disease.
I'm sincerely sorry you have this potentially huge problem to worry about on top of taking care of/worrying about your relative and hope you're able to stay infection free.
WTF, when my Dad had something like that, there was a warning sign posted on the door, and a cart with gowns, and foot coverings and gloves. Visitors were instructed to gown up before entering.

Whine whine. I have at least 4.75 more years of taking a drug that makes me have hot flashes.
It freaking sucks. They put someone women on for 10 years. Because I'm like "Is it a hot flash? Am I throwing fevers and has the cancer returned? Am I getting sick? Is something else wrong?"

I keep telling myself I need to do some retirement planning, write a will etc, but have yet to find the time to do it. You really should make it a priority to get a will at a minimum. You seem to have a lot of things going on financially and it will be a major mess for your children to untangle should the worst happen. An accident or sudden illness can happen at any moment. My cousin died without a will. Never married, had paid off house and car and lots $$$ in the bank. It took a couple of years for her estate to be settled. Everything went to her dad because, legally, he was the next of kin. While he got her house, it cost him his low income senior housing. Her house has steps and he has to mow and clear snow. These were the reasons he and his wife moved to senior housing.

drive-by whine. I'll join you today, gira.
I got all packed up, threw everything in the car, and went to leave. the damn car won't start. panels light up, radio works, windows operate. ignition won't turn over. because I needed this today? that was a worrisome text to the boss....hey, I'm working on it, but this is what's going on. he said I can expense a rental, which is about the only way I'd be able to get there at this point. I called my dealership, they don't have a loaner to give me so I can't get mine towed there to keep a few days til I come back home. so a rental it is, I guess.

I’ve never had an enchilada. Mexican restaurants here aren’t very good (according to California relatives) , not very many so never go What?! I make fabulous enchiladas. I will make you some if you're ever in my city. Thou shall not lie, thou shall not lie, thou shall not lie, BUT I LOVE ENCHILADAS - oh, the moral conflict these two statements have created for me

I make ok ones, but I miss the Tex Mex I used to get when I lived in Texas. Locally, we have one passable place, but I’m reaching the point of needing to go visit my friend in Austin for both Tex Mex and BBQ.

I have been trying to get through to the cardiologist to change hubs appointment, no go. Finally called the hospital and she said last week they had phone problems. Got news for them they still do. They tried transferring me, same dead end, no answering loop. Told hubs will have to go up Thursday or Friday if I can't contact someone. That could be tragic if you needed your cardiologist, damn.
A relative had on facebook they other day she was trying to get through and could not.
Need to move, little guy nor I got dressed today, nor DD. He slept till 10:30 and I could go to sleep now. Gray weather makes me sleepy.
It' only 78 out or I would take him to the pool, maybe it will be warmer tomorrow.
I am getting more and more lazy I guess. Need to vac, take the trash out.
Tonight is boiled shrimp, maybe salad, and frys.

Schnitzel with house made fresh pasta. Turns out, sauce is the term for gravy. So yes to the sauce gave me gravy, not tomatoe sauce. 😄

When we have to have PD for a private event you have to have 2 and pay them $15/hour. That's way more! I don't know what it is in Chiver's neck of the wood but $15/hr is minimum wage around here and I would definitely expect way more than that. However, I would check with the PD what their rate is just to make sure the tree company did not put an insane markup on the rate for "administrative cost" Minimum wage is most definitely not $15/hour here in my red state. The cops around here make about $40K to start which is only $19.23/hour on the city clock. $15/hr for a side hustle isn't bad.

I finally made it to my hotel about an hour ago. I logged in to work to see that nothing's blown up while I was offline, and poured myself a glass of wine while I check out local restaurants for K and I to choose from tonight. the snazzy Mexican place is the frontrunner so far.
