Tell him be an enlightened man and talk to her himself. It;s part of being a parent regardless of gender. I've been making DH have talks because I want the girls to know they can come to either of us He does and has talked to her. He wants her to hear a woman’s perspective also. But like I said, if she gets irritated with her Mom, she’s very unlikely to have that kind of conversation with me. Even though Mister is a man and knows how he was when he was younger, he didn’t do too well peeping the last boy out when we met him. He had Mister fooled and Mister was impressed. I was not impressed at all, and I did not like him, and told Mister so as soon as YD and the boy left, and told him why. When the shit hit the fan, the girls’ Mom told me that Mister had told her after we met the boy that I didn’t like the him. By then, it had been proven that my gut feelings about him were spot on. Maybe that’s why Mister asked me to talk to her, because my judgement was much better than his in that instance, idk. I just know that I’m going to continue to stay in my lane. I’ve been excluded in so many other things, if she won’t listen to reason, leave me out of that too. A dear friend in Colorado raised his 3 kids by himself. He met his wife and their mother when he was living in England. First son was born in England and another son and daughter here in the US. Apparently her parents had told her she was crazy before they got married. Turns out she was crazy and he took her back to England and he and her parents had her committed and she is still there today. He had told his daughter about the birds and the bees but he asked me to talk to her about menstruation since he is a man and has never menstruated. We talked at a bar where he was doing a gig. So a relaxed atmosphere. He always played in places where his kids could attend. She seemed to listen and said she learned a lot. Her dad wasn't there so I hope she did. She asked several questions. We did not talk about sex. Her dad had that discussion with her. No, her dad and I were not involved. We were friends. We liked going to concerts together and had some great times.

In the ignition? I don't know how old your DH is, but if he's old enough for dementia, I'd check the fridge or the pantry, too. Good luck! I've put mine in the fridge and the kitchen sink and left them in the door all night and locked them inside my parents' house which blew because their key was on my keychain inside their house. I've also been really distracted/distressed and freaked out thinking I lost them and they are in the ignition. WITH the car running. ADD can be a bitch sometimes. I lost my phone one time and found it in the freezer.

And I want to say how freaking awesome it was to have a doctor actually take time to TALK and teach us.
He drew my dad a picture to show the issue with mom's arteries. He walked me through how mom is recovering but how far she has to go WITHOUT throwing out dramatic numbers.
And this gut is one of the top cardio doctors in the area.
So apparently it is possible to be at the top AND a compassionate human being capable of explaining things to us lowly life forms.
I made sure to thank him for it. I also thanked the nurse he's been amazing. Especially since he's had to deal with us in the aftermath of some of those doctors.

Does Kiddo have any genuine health issues related to outside exposure that you know of? Pollen allergies, asthma, heart condition making him unusually vulnerable to overheating, sun related skin issues? If he does, his mother should have provided Mister and you with clear info on the health issue and how to respond to it. FWIW, it sounds like momma drama that she's used to instill fearfulness into the poor guy and manipulate others. Just saying She tells Kiddo he has bad allergies. He’s played outside most of the day before when all the children were here. No complaints or issues afterward. I don’t think he goes outside to play at all at home. She tells him he’s allergic to dogs, but they live with a dog, and he stays in Newbie’s face when he’s here. I’ve never even heard him sneeze. And if his allergies were so bad, you’d think she’d make sure she sent allergy meds with him. She sends everything else, including soap, lotion, and food. We keep children’s allergy medicine here, just in case though. He hasn’t ever needed it that I know of. He is also “allergic” to any kind of even mildly spicy food. And some other stuff I can’t think of right now. Let her tell it, there’s always something wrong with him. She use to take him to the ER at least once/month for any little thing, but I think she’s stopped doing that now.

I've definitely left my keys in the door overnight. on days that I'm not running the A/C and the side door is open all day long, I usually just leave the keys in the door when I get back from wherever. harder to lose them that way. so I just finally got the invoice from the tree company - I was not expecting the PD detail to come in at $1100. um, is that normal? I had two officers, and I believe there was a 4h minimum (the work didn't take the full 4h...). When we have to have PD for a private event you have to have 2 and pay them $15/hour. That's way more!

I don't know what it is in Chiver's neck of the wood but $15/hr is minimum wage around here and I would definitely expect way more than that. However, I would check with the PD what their rate is just to make sure the tree company did not put an insane markup on the rate for "administrative cost"

I can't stop listening to this song. Not my usual genre. Dead South This is wild. I would have never thought of cello and banjo as a combination, but it works. Impressed how he carries it. The lead singer's voice really works with the song and its catchy too. Thanks for sharing this.

I would like to go to one of their concerts. Apparently, all their fans dress up in white shirts, black pants and suspenders. Sounds like a hoot! i wonder where I can buy an Amish punk hat?

I googled amish punk hats and got a bunch of results. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. $20 and up.

Good morning, persevering invisipeeps, patiently unknotting the problems of your days. I hope your today is airy and breezy and all the vexations are born away.
Today at chez finnime my windows will be measured with precision before the new ones are ordered. Without wild optimism, they should be ready for installation around early October. Also, today the Pod will be delivered for unloading tomorrow with the help of DB1, DSis and 2 nephews.
Yesterday I spread the enzymatic cleaner down on the basement floor and left it covered with a tarp, to work its way down into the concrete. This should do it. Vanquishing cat urine is possible with enough effort.
In other news, the temperature outside broke its death grip on this area and has not risen past 82 the past couple of days. Before we moved here I looked it up and found the average for July and August is a high of 78. That's a 50-year average, but it is rising, clearly.
My arthritis is really kicking in today. Knees, hands and neck.

I'm up and pulling together toiletries and outfit options for tomorrow, since now there's a storm warning. I'm going to head up to the hotel after my 11am call. I'll decide then whether I want to find the office, figure out parking and getting my badge reactivated...or just wait til the am for all of that.

I snuck in working from home today. I'm punching out at noon for the day for a doctor's appointment and this was just less running around. Someday I'll get caught, but I figure if I'm sporadic about it my chances of getting away with it are better and the consequences less. My new boss was only my boss for a few months and was then promoted to corporate so nobody really checking in on me anyhow.

Atmosphere is everything. So is cost. I was in the best shape I had ever been in my life when I joined a gym that had an obscenely expensive membership (about 5% of my take home salary). I also paid each month, in person so my brain would associate that much money with the gym. In addition, those people were largely professionals, who went to look out and not a pick up joint. When I walked out, I looked like I had gone through the wringer…..and I had. I poked around on their website some more today. It’s $67/month for “premium” membership, which includes (among other things) access to all the different classes, at no additional cost. Otherwise, classes are $8 each. I don’t know how much regular gyms cost, and whether that is expensive or not. They also offer something where they watch your child(ren) for up to 2 hours as long as you are on the premises, at no additional cost. That’s not something I need, but I like that they offer it for parents who want to invest in their physical health and don’t have anyone to watch their children while they do so. 8 sessions with a trainer would be another $260something. So around $330 to work with a trainer for a month. I do believe I need the guidance of a trainer, at least for a little while. Mister use to lift weights and had the body to show for it. He’d stopped doing it regularly by the time I met him, but I remember being very curious about what was under his shirts, whether it was muscle or fat. I didn’t know at the time that he use to lift weights, but I was guessing muscle, and I was right. I’m a sucker for big “guns”, muscular arms. Swoooon. I’ve asked him many times to teach me how to get in better shape, but I guess he only knows how to do it by lifting weights (which he got rid of the last of them before we moved here), so that hasn’t happened. I am thinking I will go for it, sooner rather than later. That's not a bad price for what's included. You can get a weight set and watch lifting videos online. I made a mini gym in my house for about $1,000 if if you want to do it at your house and have the room.

Group exercise classes are an exercise is letting go of your ego. My ego is such that I am very easily embarrassed, so I would be VERY uncomfortable in a group exercise class. Even when I was taking yoga classes regularly, I always went to the back of the room….. fewer people to see me if I embarrassed myself somehow. Without going into further detail, I will admit that that is part of one of the many things I need to work on. I want to say something, and I hope I can say it without being offensive. If it is offensive, I will delete and sincerely apologize, because that’s not my intent. I’ve said for many years that I want some white friends. It seems like when white people go out to have fun, that’s what they do, have fun. Black people joke that most white people don’t have any rhythm when they dance, but what I’ve noticed is that white people seem to know how to have fun. They dance anyway, even if they are goofy and can’t catch a beat if their lives depended on it. I am more drawn to that kind of spirit, than the ones that just sit around talking about people instead of trying to have their own fun. When I go out somewhere where dancing is involved, I admire the people that just go for it, even if they aren’t good at it. I want to be like them. Dancing just because it feels good, regardless of what other people think it looks like. I can’t do that. I would be embarrassed. The part of my issue that I’m describing probably sounds silly. But there are other, deeper issues that pertain to the same thing, but I’m n willing to get into all that right now. The other people in the class don't really care if you mess up. It's to be expected. I do workout by myself and in groups. The camaraderie is pretty strong in groups you might make some friends. As far as white friends, I don't find them to be any different than my friends of color. I have friends of all colors and my lamest friend is white but I love her anyway. She's still a great person.

I’d be happy to be your uncoordinated fun white friend. ☝️ this. it's too bad you can't travel here in a couple weeks. I think the rainbow of you, andi and me could find some solid trouble around here. 😎😇 edit: that was meant for Pink. swamp and I are the same shade of pasty white girl. 🤣 but I feel like she'd be fun to tour the Cape as well. 🥂 I am so looking forward to this. I'm excited to finally hang out with you guys. I've met a few people from here but I'd love to meet more!

Hey, I’m rocking a pretty good tan for an Irish chick. No such thing as a tan on an Irish person. They go from red back to white. Unless you're black Irish. THEN you tan. I'm a lovely shade of brown so I'll match andi in a couple of weeks. I don't burn, but I tan big time. I try and stay out of the sun because I'll get DARK otherwise. My skin would match my hair if I'm not careful.

I decided to make the enchilada sauce for tomorrow night tonight while the leftover chicken lasagna was heating up. My house smells great, but I really want the enchiladas tonight. I’ve never had an enchilada. Mexican restaurants here aren’t very good (according to California relatives) , not very many so never go What?! I make fabulous enchiladas. I will make you some if you're ever in my city.
