And my dyslexia is kicking in big time. Why did I decide to go in a field that deals with numbers?

Monday Night Piano Bar had some technical difficulties so it was all guitar music, which is not the first instrument the artist learned. She is not totally comfortable with it. She ended with Paul McCartney's Mull of Kintyre, which is one of my favorite songs. I was singing along to the chorus and both cats took off. Not only can I not dance, but I can't sing. I tried out for choir in 7th grade and didn't get in. People I have told that to who went to school with me say "I thought everyone got in". Not me. I too didn't get in--albeit for me it was youth choir at church. I had no idea that people could actually tell the difference between notes plus could control how they made sounds. I can't read music and I can't tell if an instrument is out of tune. Just sing and play for me. Make me happy.

DH had someone come to give a quote on the rear stairs at our rental property. They are heaving, so need to be replaced. I am sure it will be pricey.
I did nothing but walk the dogs and watch a bit of Rachel Maddow's show last night. I also logged in to Quick books to make sure I filed the 941 for 2nd Quarter. While I was there, I entered payroll for last week. I really need to do a bit of decluttering every day. I did drop 3 pairs of shoes and a pair of Rollerblades at Goodwill on my way home though. Baby Steps.

Hubs said it rained all night. I checked the sump as I didn't hear it running and wondered if something is wrong. We actually have 2, one is a battery back up. The water wasn't running like I used to hear.
Hubs dug a channel in front to drain the lawn running onto the drive so it would go away from the house. And one of the gutters had not been in an underground pipe run ever, I guess. So he fixed that too, since it was on an uphill corner of the house and was running down directly on the foundation, I'm sure that helped too. All the other corners have underground drains away from the house. I always wondered why they didn't do that one?
Hubs says us being on a hill why we even have a sump makes him wonder. He said with the slope we have looks like to him it would drain if we had no pump down there. He said one day he is getting his laser out and see if it would. I told him why "fix" something that is working.
I have to take DD to doc at 1:30. Hubs is going to the funeral of the elderly relative. I wanted to go too, but didn't want to have to take the kids either. I will send one of the daughters a note to tell his wife.

This week can be over anytime. We're nearing the end of road construction hell here. They're putting in what's supposed to be the heaviest traffic roundabout in the state in our little town, heavy traffic because there are really only two main veins into this town and it's at their intersection that the roundabout is going. So, for the past two months there have been huge backups to get through this thing and I sometimes have to pass through it 4 times a day. This week is the culmination, we were basically told to avoid at all costs while they do the final work, so it's a big detour as there really are no alternate roads to take without going off into the hills in the country for many miles. Oh...and the hospital is at this intersection. People in trouble on the other side of the road have to take a 20 mile detour to get to the hospital. I'd probably just run across the road if it was an emergency!
Anyhow, crossing my fingers it's grand opening is Friday like they hope and I can move on from all this extra driving to just trying to avoid all the idiots that don't know how to use a multiple lane roundabout (or any roundabout for that matter).

DH: I'll wait to check on our credit card (fraud) until I have a work at home day. I can't call with the Missy or in the office. Me: At home, working, with the missy next to me watching tv and on the line with the cc company. <sigh>

YNAB has some glitches, and it's annoying me.
There are working on an adjacent property; they're clearing out all fo the trees and bushes on that portion of our fence line. I've suggested and given them permission to come our side of the fence. I think that will leave less debris on our side and not damage the fence quite as much. We could barely see that house two days ago. I now have a full view of it from my home office.
It'll be 108ºF here today. I'll need to water my flowers twice.

We're expecting rain here a bit later, so DS & I got moving early & did our errands this morning. The amount of road construction here is annoying. Much needed, but it can be tricky to get where we need to go. Oh well...

Grandson makes me proud, whether he will continue as he does or not as he gets older is to be seen. Today at Olive Garden, DD was waiting for us in the lobby, she had gone to the bathroom, Than grandson and I went. When we got out there he went over and got her hand for us to go to the car. He always does that with her when we go somewhere. I see people look and I wonder if he realizes it. But to me and her as long as it lasts, it is one of the sweetest things he does. His dad never did that and still doesn't say much about her. I think when he becomes a young teen that he may be embarrased by her, but we will find out as time goes on. Still for now, it warms my heart. What a kind young kid. Both my DH & DS still have that compassion for others - one is in his mid fifties and the other is late twenties. I don't think it will go away if it's innate. I hope that is the same for your grandson.

Got talking to Creighton off my list. She said they've gotten 90 forms in just the last three weeks. She said they are going to get them done before the deadline in October. She predicts somewhere in August is when most will be done.
Called to take care of grandma's stuff but hit a snag with that and need to double check before I do anything. I'm going up to visit tonight so if he doesn't get back to me it'll just have to be taken care of tomorrow. Grandma is the least of my worries right now. I'm not ignoring it because I can't but my priority is not her and the nursing home sucking her dry.
My priority is my parents and keeping my own life together right now.

Good morning, all.
Even though my phone was on vibrate. I got a call at 3am by my mom, trying to deposit a check that came to her house for me. At least it wasn’t a problem with the dog, which is why I answered. Then DD texted with an update on her quest for insurance. After that I couldn’t sleep because my mind was racing, and I’ve been up ever since.
Feeling very cranky already and not looking forward to going to office. I’ll have to think of some things I’m grateful for or something to look forward to so I don’t cry as I get ready for work lol.
I am scheduled for a 6am workout at the gym next door, hopefully I get the endorphins from that workout, otherwise I don’t know what I’ll do. I think TOM is in its way.

Agree, the other crap can wait, focus on your health and your loved ones right now. And sounds so silly but try to treat yourself like a little kid. Have dessert. Get lots of hugs, go to bed early.

The crew came and marked the sewer tap locations and I did my best sweet little old lady number on them. I think they took one look at our elaborately and expensively landscaped yard and said "Oh hell no!" and are going to bring the miniature backhoe in at the house behind me. There literally are NO 43" wide pathways from the front to the back of the property without removing lots of stuff and then replacing it, stuff like landscape boulders, flagstones, raised vegetable beds, sprinkler system, landscape lighting. They will take down about 15 feet of fence and remove one shrub and I'm cool with that. The poor guy was like "I'm so sorry but we'll have to take this shrub out" and I'm like "No problem, bye-bye big bush". I just hope it's done by sundown tomorrow but you never know on a big project like this.

Nothing to do with this woman is ever simple. I called back after talking to my dad and my grandmother doesn't have a fucking checking account on file. She said I can give her one and we can try but regulations may flag it. Normally they would need grandma to sign that yes this is her account and yes she authorizes her money to be put there. If it was an already established account on file or had been before. .. no problem. But the fact it is a "new" account is what will potentially cause it to raise flags because how do they know that this is grandma's account even though her freaking NAME IS ON IT. Then dad is on it so that raises potentially other flags. I am not going to ask him to try to go up there and remove himself because that would also need grandma's signature and he doesn't need that right now. Plus it sounds like no matter what we do if we try to do it the 2022 way the government is going to flag it. Thanks for protecting everyone from their own money! They also said they could send it directly to the home which HELL NO. I do not need them being sent that sum and then we have no real records they ever got it. Then something happens on their end and either we can't get it back OR they accuse ME of fraud. Which is part of what started this mess some ding dong "lost" my grandma's check and tried to say my dad embezzled it. Her account showed they cashed it several days before, it was their stamp on the check. The less messy way is I have a check for $17k sent to my house. Because THAT is secure. Then I have to drive all the way out to 108th and deposit the damn thing. I don't understand how my dad didn't end up right along side my mom. She might as well have set things up to where it needs to be delivered in a stage coach. I don't understand how she was getting distributions if she didn't have a checking account to wire it to. She couldn't possibly have been getting a check every month then driving to Millard to deposit it?

Mister asked me to talk to YD about boys and dating. I politely declined. If she doesn’t want to hear it from her Mom, she definitely doesn’t want to hear it from me. She and I don’t have the tension that OD and I do, but we still aren’t exactly close. I’m not involving myself in that.

Nice kitty. I mowed trails yesterday about an hour before the cam caught this guy. That is one beautiful kitty, however, do you think it is what got your chickens awhile back?

DH just informed me that they will dig up and expose the old line tomorrow but no one knows when they will place the new line and connect us up to it. Friday night play cancelled ($40 non-refundable, plus have to figure out something to cook that night since we were going out), no mani-pedi this month because I can't risk booking a non-refundable $90 appointment. Shower head died yesterday but I can't book the plumber to replace because I don't know when we will or won't have sewer service. Oh well. Also, may have to cancel the estate planning meeting because I'm not paying $300/hour to meet with an attorney when I might or might not have a bathroom for her to use. I'm beginning to see why the contractor's flyer said August 26 was the end date of the project.

The mountain lion is a gorgeous animal. They are, but this one is a bobcat. Much smaller...maybe 30-40 pounds. In this day and age of political correctness, you have to call it a Robertcat.

I'm going to vent here, if I may. Turns out my relative has an antibiotic-resistant infection, and NO ONE told me. Here I've been visiting him, protected with only my 2-layer fabric mask, while the medical team has been coming in & out of his room fully covered. I thought they were trying to protect him, but they were trying to keep themselves from passing on the infection to others in the hospital. Obviously, I'm not happy. I did some reading on this infection, and it can stay on surfaces for hours. God forbid I bring it home, or pass it on, unknowingly to someone who could be vulnerable. The good news is my relative is very slowly recovering. But he's not completely out of the woods yet. That is unconsciousable to say the very least. What the he** is wrong with these so called professionals? Seems to me we have enough to worry about with Covid still floating around and now Monkeypox spreading like wildfire in certain areas and now "medical idiots" could be exposing the population with yet another infectious disease.
I'm sincerely sorry you have this potentially huge problem to worry about on top of taking care of/worrying about your relative and hope you're able to stay infection free.

It;s part of being a parent regardless of gender. I've been making DH have talks because I want the girls to know they can come to either of us He does and has talked to her. He wants her to hear a woman’s perspective also. But like I said, if she gets irritated with her Mom, she’s very unlikely to have that kind of conversation with me. Even though Mister is a man and knows how he was when he was younger, he didn’t do too well peeping the last boy out when we met him. He had Mister fooled and Mister was impressed. I was not impressed at all, and I did not like him, and told Mister so as soon as YD and the boy left, and told him why. When the shit hit the fan, the girls’ Mom told me that Mister had told her after we met the boy that I didn’t like the him. By then, it had been proven that my gut feelings about him were spot on. Maybe that’s why Mister asked me to talk to her, because my judgement was much better than his in that instance, idk. I just know that I’m going to continue to stay in my lane. I’ve been excluded in so many other things, if she won’t listen to reason, leave me out of that too.

I am beat. So far, I've worked for 4 hours, took the missy to her first movie with the peanut, went bed shopping and paint sample procuring with DD1, and took care of the cc and clarified why the ortho called. I still have a lesson and I should get in a few more work hours. Then I get to do it all again tomorrow.

It'll be 108ºF here today. I'll need to water my flowers twice. Whoa. I read that as being 180°F there today! I wondered how you would ever survive! Although 108° is still extremely hot, hopefully you'll get through that a bit easier. Stay inside where there's a/c, as much as possible! Take care!

I went up to see mom. She's awake. She can't really talk with the CPAP machine on but she responded with hand gestures and shook her head.
They are hoping to take out the heart cath tomorrow.
One artery is open. One is partially open they hope to rotor rooter that once the catheter is removed.
One is blocked but the heart is rerouting itself so they aren't worried about that one.
The fourth is 100% blocked but cleaning that one wil come way down the road.
Not out of the woods but she's made quite a bit of progress.
