I timed my layover perfectly it seems. I had just enough time to go to the next gate and get Starbucks. Boarding for the next flight starts in a couple of minutes. wait, where are you going now? I meant to ask earlier. I think I saw something about Charlotte, aren't you usually in your time zone column? I just landed in Knoxville. I can't wait to get to the hotel!

Thinking about that young lady remind me of a lot of bs that has gone in at my job.
Sexual harassment has been a thing the whole time I’ve worked there. Between coworkers, and between managers and their employees. When it involved managers, the manager usually just got moved to another facility. A lady I worked with years ago, went and got an attorney due to a manager sexually harassing her. My employer paid her 10’s of thousands of dollars and moved the manager to another facility. That’s all they did to him, was move him to another facility.
This is just what I heard when all the supervisors and managers had to take some classes about 10 years ago, so I am not saying it’s truth. A woman in another part of the state won a lawsuit where my employer had to pay her 6 figures, because she had been reporting a coworker or manager (I don’t remember which) for sexually harassing her, and nothing was done about it, until she finally got an attorney that wasn’t afraid to take on the federal government, and she won her case.
4 or 5 years ago, there was a male employee that worked in my building. He was in his early 30’s and in great physical shape, tall and muscular. A lady around my age was obsessed with him. She use to try to touch him inappropriately and one day she did something (I don’t remember exactly what), but he told me that was the first time in his life that he’d ever had to actually use his muscles to get a woman off of him. She is taller than the average woman, probably almost as tall as him, and what we call cornbread fed, which refers to people from the country that are not “fat”, but not slim either, just what we call “thick”. So I could see him having to use his muscles to get her off of him, because she is not a small woman, and I could understand why he was so bothered about it and all the other stuff she use to do with touching him inappropriately.
It was sexual harassment period. Imo women do not get passes for sexually harassing a man. He very clearly wanted nothing to do with her, so she was out of line just as much as a man would’ve been for doing things like that to a woman.
He had been complaining about this lady for months, but most people thought it was funny, including his bosses. I did not think it was funny. To me, that was no different from a man being aggressive and touching on a woman that was clearly not interested in him. I told him that he has the right to not have to deal with that kind of shit at work, and that he needed to tell his boss that he was filing a formal complaint with all of the necessary paperwork about her harassing and touching him, to make them take it seriously.
He ended up resigning, and I don’t remember whether things got resolved with that lady before he resigned.

I'm just done with today, as it was a bucket of suck here too. Just a small piece of a bad day: I'm scanning & emailing paperwork to a county office, specific documents that they requested. They rejected the entire pile because they claimed one submission, DS's high school transcript, was older than requested. Excuse me?!? I'd ordered a new transcript yesterday, and if they had bothered to read the top of the transcript, it's actually dated "prepared" with yesterday's date on it. So, basically we paid for a new copy of his high school transcript for nothing. I don't understand why the government keeps asking for the same paperwork over and over again anyway. They could probably access a copy faster than I can, and I keep pretty good records. <sigh> Just pass the pitcher of margaritas...

Tired again, nothing new there. The for sale modular is now swept, bathrooms cleaned, fridge cleaned, and mopped. Anything hubs missed is on the patio. A lot of it can just go. We have the shed to clean but no issue for now, and could easily be cleared in a few hours. But my tail feathers are dragging. I wasn't over there long but it wears me out to vacuum. Just pushing and pulling on the sweeper tires me. I was tired before but COVID has really taken something out of me.
I swear, hubs is a social butterfly. Anyone walking by, he speaks too and ends up in a conversation, I swear we will know everyone in here pretty soon. He never used to be like that till he worked overseas all those years. We will know everyone in here before you know it, if they come by here.
The neighbor thought old fatty, Tigger, was a girl cat and expecting. He has a big pouch that hangs toward the back. Again I read purebred male cats get those even if he isn't one, he has it. Like my friend said in pictures their fur looks blue, yep.
Hubs had to go to the store for me. He is getting cabbage, milk, and drinks, I just can't face walking in there today.
DD and I had hotdogs for lunch, we seldom do, but pretty good for a change.
I could just take a nap.
Found one of the pictures I wanted to put over the fireplace. The niche is indented 3 frames deep so centerpieces it and has the spot light on it. It looks pretty but the other one I have that is a bit longer might look better, have to get it out of the packing and see. Both of them are paintings of scenes in Paris.
Now I need to email Habitat and arrange for them to pick up the furniture over there.
Later all.

For grins I want to note that of course the gecko would be way too big to be buried anywhere given he weighs less than 2 ounces, and his tail is about .25 inches wide. Trump would never be able to pull it off, so why should I think I can? Any family or friends with property you could ask? I couldn't throw a pet in the garbage so I'd have to bury it somewhere. I never worry about burying deep either. Our little gecko might have been under a few inches of soil. I don't think anything dug her up but if so, circle of life and all that.

I would never bury a pet at a rental. But that's me. I've also never had such a small animal. I would cremate, and have done that and still have the ashes.

Smoke just brought me a snake into the living room and plopped it down. It was still alive but not totally. He played with it for awhile, I told him take it outside. I doubt he understood me but he did. He doesn't normally bring them in.

Dh's job handles pet cremation for free as part of employee benefits so in addition to household pets, the ashes and clay footprints of chickens have made it to our pet cemetery shelf now. I think dh even had his flower horn fish cremated. I think it's a little much, but whatever.

The young lady that was sexually assaulted at work, just called me to tell me that the person that assaulted her has been arrested. Apparently the federal law enforcement officers she met with yesterday morning, interviewed the other 2 ladies that said he has been inappropriate* with them, the person that questioned the guy about why he was in that area and went with the victim to report what happened to her bosses, and the GF. All either yesterday or this morning. I am glad that the other 2 ladies were willing to speak to the officers even though they had not officially reported whatever he’s done to them. Those ladies don’t even really know the victim, they just happened to be around when she was making a commotion about not wanting to worknear the guy and said something like “him? Yeah he did x to me too”. I had forgotten that she’d said she did contact the city police when it happened. She didn’t know the guy’s last name or address, but one of the ladies he’d been inappropriate with knew what car he drove, and went and took a picture of his license plates for her to give to the police. When she met with the federal leos yesterday, they asked her if she’d contacted the city police. She said yes. They asked if she had a report number, and she did and gave it to them. Today they called and told her that he has been banned from the premises and if she sees him at work, to call them immediately and that she shouldn’t have anymore problems from the GF, but if she did, call them about that too. I don’t think I mentioned that he is married, and so is his GF. How the heck is he gonna explain this to his wife lol. Not that I care, just ooh wee! I told her that I’m proud of her for standing up for herself and not just letting it be swept under the rug like it seems her bosses were trying to do. She said that when she got bothered the other day about seeing him at work, and her boss not having said anything to her since she reported it, she was wondering who she could call for some advice, and she thought “Imma call MISS PINK”. And I’m glad she did, even though all I did was call somebody else that gave her good advice on what to do to make sure it gets dealt with. I hope they also spoke with her bosses IRT not following up on what she reported to them, telling his GF what the victim said happened, and letting him read the victim’s statement that she wrote and gave her boss about what happened. They need to be held accountable for all of that. *I use the word “inappropriate” IRT the other ladies, only because idk exactly what he did to them, and NOT because I’m trying to minimize whatever he did. I am so glad the latest victim had both the courage to report him and the smarts to reach out to you for guidance. I am almost as angry at the managers who further victimized her by telling the perp's GF as I am with the assailant. Far too often, those who should do their jobs just further victimize the victim. Thank you and the person you referred to for not letting her just be another voiceless, helpless victim of this predator. I am not almost angry at her managers, I am actually angry. The manager that told the GF what the victim said happened, is a woman. It shouldn’t matter, but the fact that she is a woman and did that makes me even more angry. That is one of the issues I have with managers at my job….. they talk too much. So that seems to be a *thing* in different work places. That is why, when I’ve been called to “the principal’s office” regarding my attendance, I still don’t tell them what’s really going on with me. I don’t have to tell them any of my diagnosis, so I don’t because I don’t want my personal business spread on the workroom floor. I did tell them what was wrong when I had a fracture in my foot earlier this year, because I didn’t care about anybody knowing about that. But my stomach and mental health issues, I have never talked about to anyone at my job, including my bosses. I just provide(d) documentation that I’d seen a medical professional and made sure those notes did not include anything about my condition or illness.

I doubt he understood me but he did. He doesn't normally bring them in. Omg. I'd die. For whatever reason, cicadas have decided to choose our deck, driveway and garage as places to go to die. A couple days ago, Mister sent me a video of Newbie trying to figure out what the strange creature on the deck was. It was a cicada that was dying but not dead yet. Newbie would not leave it alone, whether she was trying to put it in her mouth or using her paw to see what it would do. Yesterday a cicada startled me by zooming in the garage where I was sitting. It was dying. I used a broom to sweep it out into the garage. A small bird landed not far from the cicada and I stayed still and quiet….. it eased its way over to the cicada and tried to get it with its beak. The cicada made it clear that it wasn’t dead and the bird flew away.

Same, Pink. Same Do you feel like sharing why you are not having a very good day? I probably can’t fix it for you, whatever it is, but I can “listen” if that might help. Either way, I am sending good vibes your way, and lots of . Not much human contact. After I posted this, the cats got in to a disagreement over who was going to sit the highest on my chest. Amelia ended up pushing Maddow off of me. He then jumped over me and got my nose. That hurt. I didn't think it hurt anymore but it does when a cat claw swipes across tender skin. Trying to figure out a way to go to Toronto in October and do a couple of other things on the trip. A lot of stuff. Some can be solved easily. Some can't and some I need to stop thinking about.

We took our dog sitter to lunch today. Usually when we drop off or pick up Harriet, it’s a grab and run so we felt bad. She’s an older woman who is dog sitting for extra income. She spoils Harriet rotten, so know she’s well taken care of. Today, she had a gorgeous husky/pom mix she was sitting that was everyone’s bestest friend. I’d have dog napped him in a heartbeat.
Lunch was good, we went for Thai and it was quite good.

Made a quick veggie run at the small grocery, did a load of clothes, and I'm about 1/2 way through the brokerage statements. I fed my face with the sushi combo today so I have fish breath. I am so glad we're just a couple of miles from the Asian corridor because if I had to pick one cuisine to eat daily for the rest of my life, it would be Asian in all its varieties. Curious, what do you do with the brokerage statements?

Working on my new state fair food list.
The nice thing about having gone so many times is I have a picture of the grounds in my head which makes locating the new vendors easier.
Not sure we'll try them all but I like having them written down so I don't forget.
Then our favorites of course. I pre purchased Gwen's bucket of cookies this year. I got dad one too they probably aren't going and he's watching the dogs it's the least I can do.

There was a thing this evening with Mister appeasing YD regarding dinner.
He took her to get whatever to eat, and when they got back, he tried to appease me by helping cook dinner. I pretty much hate cooking, so I didn’t turn down the help. But I’m still bothered about the other stuff.
There has been enough other stuff that went sideways today (family stuff, MY family and not Mister and his family), that I don’t have much energy to devote to Mister and YD’s shit.
I am back to wishing today, that I could just throw my whole life away as it is right now, and run away and start over somewhere else, far away from here.
