Like MPL said, my husband pretty much does all the cooking in our house. Mac and Cheese is a well known comfort food. Idk about frozen chicken tenders, but a lot of people would be just fine with that meal. I used to buy frozen pizza rolls for DD b/c she liked to have them for a quick snack or meal occasionally. The FB post that sent me recently was "I WILL NOT BE ADDRESSING YOU BY YOUR CHOSEN PRONOUNS. IF YOU LOOK LIKE A MAN, IT'S SIR. IF YOU LOOK LIKE A WOMAN, IT'S MA'AM. IT'S NOT MY JOB TO VALIDATE YOUR MENTAL ILLNESS." A guy from my graduating class responded " Thinking of people as anything less than human is a mental illness. I said "Yeah, I was thinking the whole thing looked passive aggressive and rude. Maybe the mental illness is on the part of the one that thinks they can address someone anyway they want AND get a response from them." I have thought about unfriending the individual a lot b/c she is a big MAGA person, but for now I just paused her posts for 30 days. The good news this am is the Republican attempt to grab power away from our Govenor via Referendum, failed by like 57%, and Kamala Harris is polling well in many swing states. We have flies in our house. I am pretty sure this is because my DH insists on leaving the slider open with the screen door closed. There is a several inch gap in the screen b/c somebody (me) [img class="smile" src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png" alt="[img class="smile" alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png"]"] walked in to the screen door about a year ago. So this am he told me he is pretty sure that the flies cam in with the last batch of Timothy Hay I bought for the rabbits. The rabbits are in the basement along with all their supplies. There are no flies in the basement. They are in the upstairs mostly in the living center area. I told him there are not flies in the basement, and the problem was he insists on leaving the slider open. He told me I was wrong. Our windows and doors are almond color. A white replacement screen is less than $100 at Home Depot. I should just buy one and install it. I wanted to replace the whole door, but not sure what to do about the rest of the windows either. I saw a hack to get rid of flies was Pinesol. The original Pinesol, not the other scents. Try mopping the floor with that or cleaning the area around the window with it. Maybe the flies will go away. People swear by it. I have some Pinesol, I will try this tonight. I put out some diatomaceous earth this morning. Thaks for the suggestion.

I validated the "squeaky wheel" theory. I previously reported a non-working signal to the City and they closed the file, marking it corrected. Having personally determined on 2 separate occasions that the signal was still not working, I filed a second report. I suggested the investigating signal tech use the bathroom, get a large drink and an energy bar before sitting there waiting for the signal to work, and make sure someone else was going to get the kids from school because they were going to be there a very long time. Got an email this morning that indeed the signal doesn't function and that a work order has been submitted for repairs . Don't mess with an old woman with a keyboard and time on her hands.

I think we have finally won our pantry moth battle. It has been going on for a couple weeks, and every time we thought we had the source, another popped up a few days later. The mega source was an UNOPENED bag of oatmeal. They got into anything that wasn’t sealed, and my best guess is that they were brought in from a grain purchased out of one of those bulk bins. My sister loves those, so everything (including spices) needs to go from bags to airtight containers now. We had a battle with bird seed moths for almost a year. The ultimate solution was sticky traps that have a pheromone in it. We keep the bird seed in metal cans with lids downstairs near the garage doors. I was so paranoid they would get into stuff in the house. The bird seed is now in totes with sealable gasket lids. I have always kept various pantry items in bins of various sizes that have lockable lids with gaskets for years after the prevalence of pests in Florida. I just never imagined bird seed would be a problem.

heh. that's my favorite breakfast in the JetBlue terminal - Davio's Steakhouse has a lox platter on the menu for $17 or 18. toasted everything bagel, cream cheese, tomato and onion slices, capers, and a bunch of lox. it's huge, I've never finished it. but it's easily the most cost-effective thing in the terminal....until you add a peach bellini to it. That will likely be what I do in Charlotte if I have time during my layover. I've been so spoiled by nonstop flights lately that I loathe the idea of a layover. Last time TD and I ate in an airline terminal, we went to Qdoba’s for dinner. 2 chicken burritos and 2 sodas were over $50.

I just never imagined bird seed would be a problem. I went through that about a year ago. Horrible little moths blanketed the garage and I had to throw out a lot of seed ($27.49/20 lbs) and disinfect the sealed container.

Made a quick veggie run at the small grocery, did a load of clothes, and I'm about 1/2 way through the brokerage statements. I fed my face with the sushi combo today so I have fish breath. I am so glad we're just a couple of miles from the Asian corridor because if I had to pick one cuisine to eat daily for the rest of my life, it would be Asian in all its varieties.

Oh and I think Crestie is dead for real this time unless lizards can go Catatonic like people sometimes do. It is very hard dealing with a lizard without eyelids, no real clue with alive or dead on that alone. I'm going to ignore that issue until after groceries and after late lunch. Not sure what I want to do with the body. I would bury him except I do not have the tools to put his body deep enough, so he would probably become food for the feral cats or similar critters on the property. He wouldn't have died of a known disease, just dehydration and lack of mineral reserves in his head, so it's not necessary to bag him and throw him in the garbage ... which I hate to do but have done since I have been here. ETA - I tried to go to bed at a reasonable hour as I will be out for hours today and won't be able to do other stuff unless its off hours online etc. I ended up taking my bath anyway like 3AM or something. It did chill me out, so I did rest, but not sure about actual sleep and REM. A reasonable person would ask to borrow a small shovel from the maintenance person in their complex to plant a flower or such. Therefore you would have a tool to burry Crestie deep enough in a spot that you would be able to cherish Crestie's memory at your convenience. I'm not sure it's reasonable to bury animals on community property. Not to mention the difference in how deep you need to bury even a small animal body vs. a flower.

Went to get a pedicure this morning and strolled through Home Goods. I found some new towels that jumped into my cart and they’re being washed now.

Nor would I be amazed to hear that most (if not all) apartment complexes explicitly forbid burying dead animals on their property. With the turnover in tenants the place would become a veritable pet cemetery over the years!

I timed my layover perfectly it seems. I had just enough time to go to the next gate and get Starbucks. Boarding for the next flight starts in a couple of minutes.

And most apartment complexes don’t allow loaning out their tools to residents for any reason! Would not ask for any. I have my own trowel and two sets of Felco pruners along with half of the Smith & Hawken set I bought for my first home. I have the fork not the spade. Note to Nasty Woman this is a lizard that is eight inches long at best with half of it being its tail. I have buried lizards at my homes. They decompose pretty quickly. It would be weird for there to be more than a skeleton after a year. There are far bigger dead birds I've seen just walking the property. My two Koi went in the garbage double bagged because they had been attacked by crap in my tap water. Otherwise, they would have gone into my garden as fertilizer. It is not like I would be burying a cat or small dog for heaven sakes. The Koi were bigger than I expected. I thought they were six inches long, but it turned out they were 8 inches long at death.

For grins I want to note that of course the gecko would be way too big to be buried anywhere given he weighs less than 2 ounces, and his tail is about .25 inches wide.
Trump would never be able to pull it off, so why should I think I can?

Trump would never be able to pull it off, so why should I think I can? You still have to bury them Pretty deep to not get dug up or at least that has been my experience. I'm not about to do that on property that isn't mine which is what the post I was responding to was suggesting you do.

Just what makes you think that making an exception to "no burying animals on the property" just for you would be funny? Yea, yea, I understand Cresty is/was small but as a property manager I would be setting a precedent by allowing you to do this. And there is no way in h*ll I would be willing to do that for anyone! All the potential headaches coming my way just because you think it is ridiculous not to give you permission. Yea, right...

I have never lived in an apartment complex or a condo complex that would have allowed a pet of any kind to be buried on the property. If that is your plan, I hope the complex finds out and gives appropriate punishment. You are an adult. Adults are supposed to know how to follow rules when living in a communal living situation. I have the impression you are behind on your rent. Burying a pet of any kind just might get you evicted.

The young lady that was sexually assaulted at work, just called me to tell me that the person that assaulted her has been arrested.
Apparently the federal law enforcement officers she met with yesterday morning, interviewed the other 2 ladies that said he has been inappropriate* with them, the person that questioned the guy about why he was in that area and went with the victim to report what happened to her bosses, and the GF. All either yesterday or this morning. I am glad that the other 2 ladies were willing to speak to the officers even though they had not officially reported whatever he’s done to them. Those ladies don’t even really know the victim, they just happened to be around when she was making a commotion about not wanting to worknear the guy and said something like “him? Yeah he did x to me too”.
I had forgotten that she’d said she did contact the city police when it happened. She didn’t know the guy’s last name or address, but one of the ladies he’d been inappropriate with knew what car he drove, and went and took a picture of his license plates for her to give to the police. When she met with the federal leos yesterday, they asked her if she’d contacted the city police. She said yes. They asked if she had a report number, and she did and gave it to them.
Today they called and told her that he has been banned from the premises and if she sees him at work, to call them immediately and that she shouldn’t have anymore problems from the GF, but if she did, call them about that too.
I don’t think I mentioned that he is married, and so is his GF. How the heck is he gonna explain this to his wife lol. Not that I care, just ooh wee!
I told her that I’m proud of her for standing up for herself and not just letting it be swept under the rug like it seems her bosses were trying to do. She said that when she got bothered the other day about seeing him at work, and her boss not having said anything to her since she reported it, she was wondering who she could call for some advice, and she thought “Imma call MISS PINK”. And I’m glad she did, even though all I did was call somebody else that gave her good advice on what to do to make sure it gets dealt with.
I hope they also spoke with her bosses IRT not following up on what she reported to them, telling his GF what the victim said happened, and letting him read the victim’s statement that she wrote and gave her boss about what happened. They need to be held accountable for all of that.
*I use the word “inappropriate” IRT the other ladies, only because idk exactly what he did to them, and NOT because I’m trying to minimize whatever he did.

I am so glad the latest victim had both the courage to report him and the smarts to reach out to you for guidance. I am almost as angry at the managers who further victimized her by telling the perp's GF as I am with the assailant. Far too often, those who should do their jobs just further victimize the victim. Thank you and the person you referred to for not letting her just be another voiceless, helpless victim of this predator.
