I am so off kilter today. First it was the talk yesterday with my boss. I can't believe I can't even have freaking lunch or talk with a friend without her micromanaging me. I'm not paid on my lunch break so you don't get to say what I can and cannot talk about. Then I realized we are approaching or have crossed the date that my mom died two years ago. My brain blocked out the exact date and I choose not to find out which I easily could just flipping over the urn. It would have been my parents' 42nd wedding anniversary on the 14th. *I* didn't catch up till yesterday but I have been really off physically and couldn't figure out entirely why. My body knew. Then emotional vampire is back. That was nice while it lasted. Thank God I am going on vacation next week. I really hope I hear something from either of the jobs I applied for soon I am not sure how much longer my sanity is going to hold out. They keep finding new ways to fuck with my head.

I just came on here to say happy birthday to Gira before anyone else, but she already posted it! 🙃 I am also older than dirt today - AKA 39, which I guess I now have to remain forever. 😂 Also happy anniversary to daisylu! I turn 41 in December.

Coworker is leaving today in order to avoid the worst of the weather. That will put us back a little project wise, but oh well. And today is my 15th wedding anniversary. I took tomorrow off for a doctor appointment, so I may just check out when she heads out around lunch time. Happy Anniversary. It is my birthday. I am one year closer to being older than dirt. Yay! Happy birthday!

boo, MA lost today. 1 run game. I'm pulling for Maine tomorrow night, it's Portland. I like Portland. I'm not sure where in NH this team is from, but I don't really have connections to anywhere in NH. I do! It's Salem, NH. I don't care about them so it's all good. My very first American friend is from Salem, NH

I just weeded and trimmed for 45 minutes. It's 86 degrees (was already 82 at 6 this morning), 76% humidity and a feels-like temperature of 98. I'm drenched and stinky so a shower is happening soon.

Happy Birthday to Gira and Steph 08 and Happy Anniversary to Daisylu. NMD-Hugs, I hope you hear something + on your job search soon.
I am off kilter today and emotionally fragile - between work and the situation with my mom. I posted the latest in the Aging Parent Support thread.
Andi - hoping to hear you have an accepted offer to purchase soon, and hope CG sells one or both of the properties she has for sale.
Retirement sounds so good. Wish I knew we would be fine if I quit working. I think we will, but I am always overly conservative.
Oh, and on helping our kids - we paid for their living expenses during college. We helped DS with the downpayment on his duplex. I have to say I am very glad we did, as waiting would have resulted in a much higher interest rate. DS is now a forman on his job and making pretty good $$. He also will have some type of bonus/profit sharing going on. DD is doing very well. If she gets one of the jobs she just applied for, she will be dam close to $100,000 a year and still being under 30. She makes more than other co-workers b/c she says she is motivated by $$ so she works more. She is also very analytical, so she figures out which routes pay the best and drops and adds different trips. She did not get her smarts from me. I actually think she is smarter than both her dad and I.

Does anyone have any experience with/opinions on Whirlpool Refrigerators? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated!! I bought a whirlpool refrigerator in 1997. It didn't have an ice maker and I wanted one, so the appliance store installed one before they delivered it. The ice maker broke after about 10 years and I never got it repaired as the appliance store wasn't there anymore. The fridge was still working in 2010 when I moved, so I gave it to a friend. It continued to work for him until he passed away in 2018. So the refrigerator worked for a minimum of 20 years, and it may still be working. However I would recommend against getting an ice maker installed if it doesn't come with the fridge.

Does anyone have any experience with/opinions on Whirlpool Refrigerators? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated!! I have owned several Whirlpool refrigerators. Currently have a side by side that is almost 13 years old that I bought new. I have had zero issues with that one, other than it doesn't hold a big pizza box. I have a KitchenAid French door counter depth which is made by Whirlpool that is 7 years old. We bought a new appliance suite when we remodeled the kitchen. The ice maker control head crapped out last year and it cost me $275 to replace using the repair technician. Other than the ice maker, I have had no issues with that frig either. I have had many Whirlpool laundry machines and dishwashers over the years too. They are decent machines at a good price.

Does anyone have any experience with/opinions on Whirlpool Refrigerators? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated!! According to Consumer Reports, Whirlpool is the second highest rated, after Samsung. We used this to determine which induction stove to buy. We wound up upgrading the stove (for more $$$, of course) because the one I thought we wanted (and was also available thru Costco) did not have good temperature control at the lower range. IMO, that was an important enough feature for what I cook to pay a bit more for. If you have a specific model in mind, I can have TD check it out as he does have a subscription. ETA: A refrigerator will need to be our next purchase. Our current one (which is pushing 30 years old) keeps having plastic break off of it it’s so brittle. I expect the crisper drawers to crap out soon.

Thank you for that offer!! Don't have a specific model picked out yet. I really wanted a Frigidaire, but there is a 4 week wait time on the one I liked, so just started considering a Whirlpool.

I don't know how common it is around the country, but I have access to Consumer Reports through my library card. Log into my account, find the right page on the library website, and start doing research. Haven't needed to for years, but worth checking on to see if yours does too.

TD is reading about them now and said that the best any of the fridges on the market gets for owner satisfaction is 3/5. He said that most require repairs within the first 5 years and that ice makers and water dispensers is the most likely failing. We are still waiting on our stove. There was supposed to be a shipment to the west coast sometime this week, but not sure if our order is going to be in this batch. Luckily, the current stove is limping along ok - frustrating as shit, but still limping sufficiently to cook on.

Just gave TD the head's up about this. If he can do this, he can let his subscription lapse. I'd hate to know the number of pooled subscriptions there are between the 2 of us. We are careful not to duplicate though.
