Dd16 spent the rest of her bday week figuring out where she could drive each day.
After the library she headed to a coffee shop but of course got lost and ended up in a cute little downtown where she had to semi-parallel park on a busy street and then climb over and out the passenger side bc she was afraid of opening driver side.
Bonus teen went on a target outing and made a new rule that dd must use GPS 100% of the time after they went the wrong way to our closest target three times.

lurkyloo I've seen some edible glitter marketed for cocktails. It was near the tonic and other mixers. Fancy Sprinkles is the brand I've seen in store but I'm sure there are others.

I need to stop drinking so much Coke. I got to allowing myself one 8oz can s day but really upticked again with all the job crap.
Apparently my pop habit could gave roots in my ADHD because the caffeine gives me a dopamine hit.
I got a nice ice tea pitcher so I cam drink more of that. I like to make butterfly pea flower tea with lemonade.
Part of my attempt to fulfill my promise to the therapist and care about my well being more.
Plus as silly as it may sound I could stand to drop 10lbs. I'm at 119 which is the top of the range for my height. I'm sure Part is my antidepressant but more so I let my diet go to hell the last couple years as I used food to cope.
My cholesterol went up enough they want me on a low dose statin which I forgot to fill. Oops.
Good cholesterol is still good, overall is still good, triglycerides still perfect but the bad one ticked up enough that given my mom's heart issues she thinks it's not a bad idea.
Losing weight would help with that too. 110 is perfect I was underweight at 90.

I'm not off to a productive start today, oh well. I thought I was in for an early Walmart run, but instead discovered women's volleyball, gymnastics event finals, and the gold medal men's tennis match. I've actually got two browser windows going, both playing audio. I'm going back and forth between the gymnastics and tennis as needed. it's different. haha.
but, I've run a family pack of BSCB through he Instant Pot while I'm sitting here, so I have gotten something done today. 🤷♀️

Found a t-shirt at Spencer's that says "There it goes my last flying fuck".
Of course I bought it.
If I ever find another job I'm so tempted to wear it on my last day at my current job.
We have a stand alone Spencer's by Target.
It is what I would consider Hot Topic to be around the mid 00 before Hot Topic became a Disney store.
Spencers graphic T shirt selection is much better.
Hot Topic has better jewelry.

I've never been to a Trader Joe's although I've heard they have amazing stuff. The ones here are 10-12 miles round trip which doesn't sound like a big deal but that's on the surface in high density traffic with stop lights every 2 blocks or so. And the parking lots are notoriously crowded. I did try Sprouts once but the proteins we use were sold in giant packages like a whole side of salmon or 10 lbs of chicken legs so that didn't work for us. Every trader Joe's parking lot here is a shit show which is ridiculous because we have plenty of parking everywhere else. The kids love some of their stuff and it's a store I'd like to support but I think parking lots for golf carts in a society that drives SUV's is part of the business model.

I finally told my 2nd job they need to make plans without me. No specific time frame but warned that I might implode so hopefully she posts for the position soon.

Seriously, I thought it was just our Trader Joe's parking lot! I love the store but detest the parking lot. It's nuts all the time! Ditto. There are other stores adjacent to Trader Joe’s that I’d love to use, but the parking lot is so bad I avoid the whole thing. Between the lot and the store, the area is a huge nope for me. Last weekend we went to Winco. The fruit and veggie section is so poorly planned that that’s enough to turn me off. There are too many dead ends where you need to backtrack against the flow of cart traffic. The store layout makes NO sense, but the sticking point is cash or debit card only. I don’t normally carry that much cash and refuse to use a debit card. My sister’s debit card has been hacked 3x since she has been here (and I suspect this is the source since she has decreased use of it). She never lost anything, but it has been a hassle.

The parking was easy to find and most of the people in the store were stockers. Probably the easiest TJoe's shop I ever had. Certainly better than going on a Sunday.

My learn something new for today I really applaud TJ's ethic. Here, one of their stores is in a semi-historic old movie which did save a landmark from being torn down. But the postage stamp parking lot that worked for the old theater really doesn't work for a popular grocery chain

Trader Joe's saved the plaza and paid for all the rebuilding, so the older tenants did not have to, and welcomed them back. Which was really nice. A lot of the tenants were mom and pop places that could not afford the cost of a rebuild. But about the clowns-in-a-tiny-circus-car parking lot....

How ghetto is ghetto? Because from the pictures, it didn't look ghetto. Of course, when I hear ghetto, I think inner city Milwaukee, with houses boarded up, falling down, that the city is selling for like 60K. We lived in the ghetto in our current city from 24-34. It wasn't like inner city Milwaukee ghetto. We've move out of ghetto, and we're a few blocks away from something in between the ghetto and just fine. I always "drive" around in street view to get a feel for the area. It looks like an area people are fixing up houses, but it's a hodge podge. Within a block of that house in both directions there are boarded up houses and ones with bars on the windows and doors. I wouldn't pick anywhere remotely ghetto either, especially for a forever house, if the whole reason I was camped out in an apartment was to get away from the gun shots every night at my old place.
Correct. There was a shootout Friday night/Saturday morning down the street from my old house. My uncle was over at my grandma's house and saw one of them driving away. I don't know why she won't leave that house.

Climbed out of bed at 11. Cooking sausage for gravy, but really want to go back to bed. Hobbs & Shaw is on the tv. DH is hard of hearing and can't hear me debating who is hotter - the Rock, Statham, or Idris. Idris always wins.

Might be called Ballers. Might want to check it out.

I agree, water is gross. I gave my Brita and Pur water filter systems away. They didn't help me like water, or drink more of it. They may have made my ferrets like water more. I didn't ask. It is somewhat better cold out of the fridge but the taste is the same. I only made it to 48 ounces today and 24 of that was Diet Pepsi...but normally it would have been 48 ounces just of Diet Pepsi and 0 of water. It's a start. Just make changes as you can. They add up after a while.

On the topic of beverages, a lot of my mom’s health problems either disappeared or got better when she stopped drinking diet sweet tea. She drinks either water now or hot tea.

I cut soda years ago and am so glad I did. I have 3 cups of coffee, 3 cups of herbal tea, and water the rest of the day. I was pleasantly surprised when we moved here that the water tastes good, so I use a filtered pitcher in the fridge. I also have used fresh spearmint leaves in my water. That really ups the drinkability. I really enjoy cucumber or lemon (or both!) in water. I also cut out soda years ago and pretty much only drink water, seltzer, or unsweetened iced tea. Kombucha when I'm feeling spicy. Occasionally I'll take a sip of husband's soda. Waterloo's blackberry lemonade and raspberry nectarine are my current favorite seltzer flavors.

I had a hair appointment yesterday and I don't love the color. The ginger I had last time was awesome but problematic with fading and grow out so I asked to match more of my natural mouse brown with ginger highlights. I said some more real red and blond was OK too because the red would fade to the ginger but I think that's all that's there and my bangs are this dark burgundy red with a super light blonde behind it. I'm hoping a wash with lighten everything.

I love Trader Joe's. There's one five miles from me so I do a quarterly stock up. My work day ends at 3:30 so I tend to go on a weekday before heavy commute time begins. A TJ is opening 1.5 miles from my house later this year so I am screwed.

Noticing the rain started before 2PM and my rollator is out in it. Oh well, it is mostly waterproof. Will move it at least closer to coming in an hour or so. I hope.

There are at least three TJs within a few miles of my hone - I always say I live on the axle of a wheel with stores close by in all directions.
The TJ I frequent is in an older shopping mall. If I want to park right in front of the store it is a zoo but being in the shade is my priority so I walk a short distance and there is always plenty of room to park. I also don't go on early Saturday or Sunday afternoon, never have done that, so I am sure that helps as well.

I only drink water (usually with a liquid IV packet but often plain) during the day. I usually have a cup of hot tea in the morning.
I sometimes have a Body Armor Lyte or a Fairlife Protein shake if I'm at a kid's softball or basketball game.
I have never been a frequent pop (soda as some of you call it) drinker. Though I loved a good Code Red Mountain Dew in my younger years.

The inside looks nice. The layout is a little weird with the bathroom off the kitchen and having to walk through the living room to get to the dining room. The siding needs attention...paint at least...and they don't mention the roof age so I'd find out about that. No garage would bother me and the property taxes are high compared to the other ones you were looking at.
Love the patio area though!
