This Cathy shirt was a good buy.
It's oversized and comes down to my knees.
It's been a life saver It's been so freaking hot today.
Now if I could get away with claiming it's a dress at work...🤔

I went to the grocer and used the electric cart, it sure helps,l also masked. I didn't get much. Got DD some nacho fries, she likes those. I left the scratching post, litter box, and litter at the house. While there I did water most of the plants in front. They all need cut back, they have been allowed to get to tall and leggy. Will cut back this fall, just don't want it all dead right now. I have the sprinkler ordered, it will be here Tuesday and a timer. Some of the peoples grass patches there look like velvet, not a weed anywhere. We may have to dig a lot of these out and replace them. Nothing I can do right now but water and try to keep weeds out. This fall or next spring before I can do anything.
Down one side of the house are beautiful, purple rhododendrens, they are gorgeous.
I just watered maybe half an hour and came home, I'm done for the day. Really did nothing.
I swear I look like I've aged 10 years and feel like it too.

I am ready to come home. There's no desire to run away/escape from it.
I don't even remember the last time I felt like that.
It's probably been 13 or so years since I regularly felt like this.

I'm thinking of doing a hot oil treatment on my hair, its so dry and coarse as is DD's. We could both use one.

Annoyed I spent over $50 on a Brita pitcher and filters and I still don't like to drink water. All the reviews say "the water tastes so much better!". Uh...no...it tastes exactly the same as it does out of the faucet...like water. Oh well, at least I'm trying now. I have three diet apps going at the same time and they're all yelling at me about not drinking enough water. I may have gone a little overboard in joining diet plans. I agree, water is gross. I gave my Brita and Pur water filter systems away. They didn't help me like water, or drink more of it. They may have made my ferrets like water more. I didn't ask.

Had a rough couple of days. Not anything specific, just life in general. Pink, I know that Misters daughters have and do manipulate him. I hope he gets the child support stopped and would not be surprised if they don't visit much after that when he's not handing out the $$$ like they are nothing. That needs to stop so they can become adults. I hope Kiddo doesn't pick up that trait. He doesn't live in that household so hopefully he doesn't do that. Lurky, there were times when my sister tried through her kids to get mom or dad to do things. I didn't know until after the fact but she got her daughter to tell grandma she really didn't like the smell of smoke and it made her nauseous when she was pregnant. That was an attempt to get her to stop smoking. It didn't work. Mom told my niece then she would need to stay away while she was pregnant. Even my aunt thought that would get her to stop smoking but it didn't. If your son can make your son happier and he is happy with being around grandma, let him be around grandma. It's a horrible thing to try to get your parent to do what you know is right. I say that knowing that I will fight not living in my house to the last possible second and may choose my friend's way out. She decided life wasn't worth living after her husband died. She stopped doing anything about last Thanksgiving and starved herself to death. What a painful way to die. She emailed in her resignation when all of her PTO was gone. I appreciate the support so much but can’t like this post given the story about your friend Tonight she was happy bc her SIL brought her brother to visit, also complaining to me about OB being overbearing which a. duh, b. I’m really the last person you should be complaining to about him… I had some questions related to genealogy on the great-grandparent level, so that kept her happy going off on those tangents. Sadly, she probably is the last one available to answer those questions. Her one brother passed away about eight years ago and by all accounts the other one is is no shape to answer much of anything Apparently my one cousin just got married-I think she’s 40 and my mother has been complaining for about 39 years how painfully shy she is. My mother is now sour grapes-ing all over the fact that she wasn’t invited to the tiny destination wedding (which sounds like it bore an awfully strong resemblance to my own, see previous posts about this bone of contention). Pretty sure my tongue has holes in it at this point from all the biting I’ve been doing

It is somewhat better cold out of the fridge but the taste is the same. I only made it to 48 ounces today and 24 of that was Diet Pepsi...but normally it would have been 48 ounces just of Diet Pepsi and 0 of water.

I'm trying to get off the sodas too. I'm getting osteopenia in my bones and they said sodas are the worst. That the phosphorous in it takes the calcium out of the bones and I drink way to much. So I'm trying to order iced tea at times instead of sodas but its very hard. I'm sure its an addiction like smoking or drinking. But I keep trying. But the water at the new house tastes very good so over there I'm doing better. Here the taste is bad, I used the filter but its a pain having to fill it all the time. Wish we could get moved. But it was close to 90 again today, just to hot for me. It does cool way down at night though.
I had to use 2 tubes of hot oil treatment, my hair is so dry. Even though you wash with shampoo afterward I hope it doesn't leave it oily, kind of doubt it. I need to do DD's also, hers is even drier than mine. I sure hope by the end of the week we can get our hair done. I need dye and a cut bad, she needs a cut even worse then me. Once we get here and started need to get back on a schedule for our hair and everything else.

I might drink 2 glasses (8oz per) of plain water per year. I just can't make myself. I add lots of ice to drinks these days, which I seldom did before. I've tried to drink bottled water and flavored water. It's all just gross, IMO. Although, I agree, filtered is slightly better, if it's ice cold. Otherwise it's like drinking poison.

<sssssiiiiip> aaaaah! My weekend coffee mug is my dad’s green Mickey Mouse mug. We aren’t Disney fans, so this is the only Disney thing in the house. Dad and I both love green and we both love coffee. I miss him. I like to say I am having coffee with my dad on the weekends.

I cut soda years ago and am so glad I did. I have 3 cups of coffee, 3 cups of herbal tea, and water the rest of the day. I was pleasantly surprised when we moved here that the water tastes good, so I use a filtered pitcher in the fridge. I also have used fresh spearmint leaves in my water. That really ups the drinkability.

Just by thinking of him, as you drink coffee. A person isn't really dead, until no one remembers, or thinks of them. Otherwise, they live in your heart. Or at least, I like to think so. Cheers, dad!

Love the thought of having coffee with your dad! I’m going to have a cup with my Mom. and a glass of wine with my Dad. I inherited their dishes and glasses br]Dad made wine but he was a chemist and always had to ‘tweak’ it. He wanted to increase the alcohol content so moved on from grapes to prunes . More sugar in prunes so more alcohol but YUCK taste. Then he made a still in the basement to make brandy, also awful. He was too impatient to wait till it aged. Got Jerseyguy to try some ‘brandy’ a month after it distilled. Jerseyguy never tried any again and said he was happy to survive He helped his dad make beer when he was a kid Never drank much of any alcohol don’t remember him buying any. But he had fun making some.

I can not stand water like Hint - tastes like chemicals to me. We are on a well, and use bottled water. I do spruce it up with lemon, lime, different flavored mints that I grow, and sometimes a little ginger.

Good morning, you (invisible) beautiful people of Y Ma'am, developing water habits and cruising. Welcome to Sunday. I hope your sundae is delicious and all is well all day. When I lived in Maryland the Trader Joe's was less than 1/2 mile away. I learned to love it once I figured it out, which took some doing, since it's so very different from other grocery stores. I fell asleep after I got up at 2:00 this morning, then had to jump into my clothes to run down to the beach with Franklin the Dog. So I'm doing the morning backwards, posting here now then brushing teeth and eating a hard boiled egg before I do some grocery shopping. Had a headache yesterday that didn't quit until the very end when we went out for Italian food. It was hot for here, upper 80's in the afternoon. But the early morning was dark, gray on gray. I enjoyed seeing the waves and the primroses:

Now I'm going to have coffee with my dad. He's been gone now for 31 years. I miss him. From him I learned to drink my coffee 'regular' = with milk and 2 sugars. Now I drink it with cream and no sweetener at all. But regular is perfect for a 12 yo.

The birthday party sounds like it could not have been better, azucena. I loved reading about it and vicariously eating edible glitter and drinking unspeakable concoctions. I bet your DD could give lurkyloo's DS a run for his money on the mixers.

Sometimes slices sometimes minced - depends on how long it can sit. Ginger is good for the digestive system. I use it my herbal tea also.

My Dad did dandelion wine once. I forget what else. Home kits are so much better now than they were then. My XH made beer as did some of our friends. Some of it turned out pretty good but the bottling sometimes was spotty. Open a bottle for boiling brats in and sometimes lost a bit in the attempt.
Only got three hours sleep instead of 4, so I am not happy. Something went off around 6AM that woke me up but still do not know what it is. I also think my downstairs neighbor had some sort of alarm going off for a bit. Seems quiet now. I need to talk to complex mgmt. because when I finally got around to changing batteries in my Carbon Monoxide detector the contacts were messed up as the batteries had degraded in place. If I remember I might try to clean the contacts with something. I don't think I have rubbing alcohol anymore so maybe vinegar on a cotton ball?
Not a good day for Crestie. Almost feels like we went backwards a bit instead of micro improvements.

I've never been to a Trader Joe's although I've heard they have amazing stuff. The ones here are 10-12 miles round trip which doesn't sound like a big deal but that's on the surface in high density traffic with stop lights every 2 blocks or so. And the parking lots are notoriously crowded. I did try Sprouts once but the proteins we use were sold in giant packages like a whole side of salmon or 10 lbs of chicken legs so that didn't work for us.

countrygirl2 You might want to check the expanded recall on Boar's Head products - they have recalled over 7 millions pounds so far. Last thing your family needs is Listeria

We stopped buying soft drinks for the house several years ago, but will occasionally order a Diet Coke with lunch. I generally just get water and DH gets iced tea, we do hot tea at Chinese restaurants. At home it's water for me or unsweetened herbal tea. Sorry to hear about the osteopenia diagnosis countrygirl2. I guess the Premarin is not as protective of your bones as hoped.

I do better if the water is cold and/or has ice. I can force myself to drink it if it's super hot and I need it aka central Florida 9 months out of the year.

I went to the weird house today. It was like Narnia! There were so many hallways and different areas to walk through. The weird shower thing was strange. You walk from the living room through a bathroom to a hallway to a bedroom. Inside the bedroom is one of those deep sit in bathtubs. I don't know how you describe it. The deck was bad and the house smelled bad. It was like if you walked into a 1940s grandma house. It had modern touches like a dishwasher and granite countertops, but the rest was more dated than I have ever seen. Somebody's grandma lived in that house for decades and died there.

Dd12's bday party drink mix-ins bar is a huge hit. DD16 ended up having friends over too and the teens became the taste testers. Three of the theater guys are taking the ranking system very seriously and also suggesting the most hilarious names. Then it became about getting the worst score and dd pulled out the lemon juice and another ground up takis. The edible glitter spay is a huge hit and is being used on everything from strawberries to pizza. One tween might have some intensity poops soontakes. Meanwhile dh and bonus teen have a long awaited date night to see Kevin Hart. I am so very pleased to hear this, since finnime outed me I will let DS know that the Midwest branch of the Chicky Cola Club is up and running and am off to investigate edible glitter—I have some spray for cake/frosting but it never occurred to me to deploy it on the sodas

I love Trader Joes and shopped there frequently in grad school and living in CA bc those were convenient. The one here is an easier drive than yours (20 min, mostly highway) but I basically never go there because I prefer Wegmans for weekly shopping and we have several local stores for last minute or one off needs.

I thought the glitter spray had a liquid base but it's just loose glitter so my house is more sparkly than I'd like. Kitchen floor is also very sticky! Must mop today. When I went out to clean up, two of the teens had lined up their rankings across a whole picnic table of disposable shot glasses along with comment cards for each. The worst one said I wouldn't drink this even while sitting on the toilet. Cannot stop laughing!
