The recent posts about house buying made me realize that the second most important thing about a potential property besides location, is size and layout. Unless you have the land space and the budget to change the footprint of a property, you are stuck with the size and layout. It's one thing if a spare bedroom is a little tight, but realizing your main living and dining spaces don't work for you is hard blow and potentially expensive mistake. I'm learning a lot about avoiding problems when we eventually relocate

So I am supposed to have a virtual therapy appointment in the morning. I guess I need to call right at 8 AM because the link for the appointment has not been sent to me.
When I did the check in from the text they send out now, it said it's in person. Signed in to the portal and it says the appointment is virtual. I am not doing it if it's in person.
It's too late to call so I tried to send a message through the portal and it won't bring up the provider name or the department so I don't know what is going on. I do know that was down because of Cloud Flare. So I now have to set an alarm so I can get the link.

I'm learning a lot about avoiding problems when we eventually relocate When I looked at this house, my #1 criteria was a ranch with everything including laundry on one floor. I got it. The only stuff that is in the basement is the mechanical stuff. I was able to fix the bathroom so the shower is handicapped accessible and I love my new shower. ETA: I lived in 3 houses without attached garages. They had garages but I had to go outside to get to them. So an attached garage was a requirement.

I like it. Two things though: - it may not be a "forever" home with the master suite upstairs so definitely not easily accesible when you are older - I really don't know much about the weather in your neck of the woods but could the fact that the garage is not attached be a problem in winter time? If I get so old that I can't go up and down the stairs, I can always move downstairs. If I can't live alone anymore my caretaker can use the upstairs bedroom or I sell the house and put myself in a home. As far as snow, I don't do that anymore. It doesn't snow like that here anymore. If it did I just wouldn't leave the house.

I took a half day off work to get new tires installed on the Fridge at Sam's Club...despite the fact that I have brand spanking new tires for it in the garage on rims already. Don't ask. While I was waiting I did a grocery run and tried really hard to get only healthy stuff. I did get a box of pizzas and a bag of chicken nuggets for Carrot to feed himself when I'm at work, but outside of that, it was a cart full of fruits, salads, cheese, whole wheat bread, deli turkey and salmon...well...and Diet Pepsi because I'm not going that far off the deep end.

Is this round of covid more contagious? It seems like so many around me are catching it the last couple of weeks. School starts back here in about two weeks, so I'm really looking forward to the covid/strep/flu/norovirus combo circulating all at once.

Not so great news but we will be ok. We definitely have COVID. But the PA thinks we have passed the worst of it with the sweats and all. He said COVID right now is rampant. We are not hearing about that on the news.
We discussed Paxlovid but issues arose with all the meds DD and I take. We were going to have to stop quite a few of hers, not good, especially stopping eliquis during the treatment. She has chronic afib and that could mean a heart attack plus stopping other meds, so a no go. He and I agreed. She did not have a fever, good heart rate, oxygen, and low BP. She been stabilized for a long time and not wanting to disturb that right now with her between docs. Mine were all good too and with no fevers he felt like we were in no danger of being hospitalized. He said its about 5 days is when it is bad and we should be on the other side of it. I hope he is right. I think we will be ok.
It was the same with me, to any meds on the cannot combine list. So he wrote us a script for a drug called mulnupiravir, but he said its almost impossible to find. I have been calling and they also said its $1500, so need to see if our insurance will pay. Mine might but hers I don't know if some doc doesn't pre approve it.
So he gave us a cough suppressant which has already helped. That was one of our biggest issues is the coughing. Hubs is not meaning to aggravate me but he is asking me to do stuff I don't feel is necessary right now and I'm not being nice about it. I'm just tired and achy right now and don't want to deal with anything. And I have brain mush or COVID brain or something, I'm just not functioning right and I can tell it.
The med wasn't ready when I was there so son stopped on the way home from work and got it for us. He was in and out quick.
Kitties must not be happy, one of them upchucked on the only bed left there, hubs. So I know they are upset with all the changes and people and everything gone. Tig has done it on the floor but never on furniture. I wonder what they think is happening? Hubs is trying to get them ready to go I think on Friday.

Make sure you both get lots of rest, countrygirl2. Now is not the time to tackle projects. Just focus on your healing. I know too many folks who tried to do too much, too soon, and Covid smacked them down, so just relax and save your many projects for later.

But I so need to open bank accounts so I can move SS payments, then get our IDs so I can get DD to the Medicaid office so she won't run out of meds. I am stressing over this. They will likely cut her off Medicaid at month end and then the game is on of how fast I can get stuff for her done. And pray she does not get seriously iLL in the interim. I'm seriously stressing over this and trying not to.
That's my stressors and I have so many other things to catch up paperwork wise.

currently unwinding with a replay of USA/CHN women's volleyball, AKA a battle of the previous two gold medal teams. I've somehow managed to not find out who won this match, and it's as tight as expected.
tomorrow's going to be a frustrating day. I now have meetings scheduled during time I had blocked off to bring my car in for service and crank out online training fron the dealership. ugh. it's also going to be expensive, there's some periodic service I declined last time bc I just couldn't spare the time to wait. the odometer is just shy of 215k miles, and I'm rather enjoying not having a car payment, so I guess I'll be paying tomorrow. we'll maintained Mazdas regularly hit 300k miles, so I'm okay with this.

In all of the many Covid Conscious groups I am in, this particular version of covid is very contagious. The other problem is not everyone who has it is symptomatic. I don't know how Mich escaped.

Since you have confirmed that you have Covid, it would be very unkind for you to be running around doing errands. Do you have a respirator type mask to wear that you will leave on when you run the errands? Please stay home. Because the world has refused to change our behavior and the government has not helped the situation. Covid is raging in 34 states at the moment. The media doesn’t want to talk about it nor does the government. You will find tons of anecdotal reports and evidence from people who scrape wastewater data. Since the CDC does not require reporting we don’t know numbers. Your job is to get well without infecting others.

I think it's the door to that small side deck/porch in pic 21. oh, that makes sense. it's also your 2nd egress, since there isn't a door off the back of the house. I didn't go through the exterior pics earlier, I stopped at the tiny room upstairs. that yard is huge and nicely fenced in already as long as the twins won't jump a low one. Macy won't. Jackson most definitely will if whatever is on the other side is valuable enough to him to chase. He'll jump it in a hot second. Macy won't even jump a baby gate. It's a no. I drove past it and it's too close to Leavenworth Rd for my liking. It's not a crazy busy street, but it's busy enough that I'd be worried if one of the twins got out.

I'm not going out and about but that is why I'm stressing because I can't. The doc said just a few more days would do it. I hope so.
It's just I need so much done and that's not even worrying about the house. I am going over tomorrow, I get my trash cans. I will sit in a chair and cut some boxes for the trash can and bag up the tape. I can easily get a can full at least. Need to get some out of the way for when hubs comes up with more stuff for the garage.
I wish I knew what box my purses are in. I just have the one big one that is like a backpack and its too big to carry around and I need some other shoes. They ended up stacking the boxes so not sure where they are out there. I need other items too, maybe one day I can get them sorted and get items out.

For a Washington state bank account, I recommend Boeing Employees Credit Union. Pays excellent interest and has great service. BECU.org

I like it. In Kansas, do they have to disclose if an inspection showed something previously because there was a recent offer that fell through. Could be over finances but if it was over something being wrong with the house I would want to know. I love the big front porch. I liked it too, but I would not be finishing that basement unless I lived there 1-2 years. Painted floor and painted walls in basement could hide water damage issues. Walls on outside don’t appear 2 be moving. An inspector might be able to clarify.

Another day, another trial by fire ... Crestie is still alive although I am not sure how alive he truly is. He's in his carry case which is small but a controlled environment. Need to find dad is dead paperwork I hoped to complete at the beginning of the month. I basically lost those first two weeks to the extreme heat. I did work, I did commute, and I probably seriously injured my right knee during that time. Of course being July, major vacation time here, things were challenging already. I really hope they get better by fall sometime, but perhaps this will be a record-breaking epic Fall as well. One year around Halloween we had an ice storm. I hope we do not need to repeat that, but who knows. Specialist appointment is at the end of the week and I am extremely anxious about it. I'm sure the appointment will go fine, its what I will learn about my knee, leg etc. that concerns me. Really glad to hear Crestie is still alive. Have you been able complete your father IRA paperwork? If not what information are you missing? In the middle of August, the daytime temperatures are due to be the low 80'S which is perfect to get moving on your many appointments and tasks.

Good morning, indomitable invisipeeps, juggling tasks and navigating obstacles including Covid. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day finds you closing the door on done errands and resting comfortably while you happily watch the Olympics and consume tasty beverages. Yesterday we watched the women's gymnastics team finals as the U.S. swept up the gold. We have an astonishing team, including the 27 yo Simone Biles. And Italy won a medal, too, its first in almost 100 years. I enjoy watching the swimming, too, but there are so many versions of races I find it hard to track. Also yesterday I made another peach bundt cake at DD's request. It's very good and I used up the peaches before they expired of old age in the refrigerator. I need to clean the fridge and sort it so I can stow an enormous watermelon I got at Costco a few days ago. Those are on today's agenda. Also, ordering new prints and mat packages for display. Our next show is 2 days in Mystic, Connecticut the weekend of the 10th followed by 2 days in Gloucester, Mass. the weekend of the 17th. August will be busy. Need to plan a trip to Boston this Friday. DD is participating in a research study. Yesterday's early morning was dark with clouds and a fierce wind pushing a high tide even higher. I focused on the beach and saw two pairs of ladies slippers:

My house in the hood was nicer than this by far. You just heard gunshots frequently. I live in CNJ so many of the homes are older. Looks like this one was built in 1920. It is being sold as a fixer upper and I would guess it is a foreclosure or an estate sale. It almost has the earmarks of a hoarder home on Hoarders that must be sold for the person's care. Its not new and shiny, built in the 70s or later. But what it does have is location and a level property. It might be worth seeing if and only if you wanted to flip it or rehab it for personal use. You'd want room sizes and to possibly do one or more walk throughs. But properties like this can be a way to buy into an area you might not regularly be able to afford. We can all see where time ran out and they stopped painting in that one room. Paint issues can be easily fixed if you want to. For me it would be things like it looks like the garage hasn't been used as a garage perhaps in decades. I prefer the protection a garage offers my car versus it aging faster outside, so fixing up the driveway would be important to me.

y'all, my life just flashed before my eyes. my arms are very scraped up and will definitely bruise later on, and I'm still shaking a little. I was just standing at my tall counter, about to log in for a work call. I went to put my left foot down on the floor from having been up on a rung on the barstool at the tall counter.....and I caught the power cord to the laptop. I started to fall backwards - immediately (~3ft) behind me is the wide open stairs down. cue me grabbing the counter, the laptop, the banister post, anything to prevent me going headfirst down those stairs. well, the power cord got pulled from the laptop and separated into segments around the power supply. laptop launched and thankfully didn't break. I landed on my butt and rolled back onto my back and I managed to hang onto the banister post. my head was definitely over the top step, though. yikes. with the universe as my witness, I will never let the power cord hang in front of the counter again!!

Glad you are ok. Now this has me wondering about the guidelines for workman’s comp and working from home. Oh, and don’t work with your back to open stairway Had to be scary as hell.
