I’m on a several week road trip. Drove from Florida to Georgia and spent a few days with a girlfriend. Then to Indiana, where I am now, to visit my former step mother in law! Of all things!! She’s only a few years older than me. We’ve been having a lot of fun. She’s been very good to my daughter and my daughter suggested it. From here I’ll head to Michigan. Several people to visit and check on my late husband’s grave. From there I will either go to N Carolina to visit my daughter or I’ll head back to Florida. That’s up to her schedule. So far it’s been gas and food because I take my hosts out to eat as a thank you but I will be staying in hotels in Michigan. I’m good with that It’s been a good trip so far. Got my car looked at before I left Florida and the oil changed.

Just for the sheer amusement of posting my driving after Zibs. I have to go fast, for 25 minutes today. And then I'm carpooling. I think that's about all I can do. We didn't have time/opportunity for me to drive more this weekend.
I'm sure my car is fine.
However, as I tell DH, the bad stuff always happens to me. And it's not like "oops, I stubbed my toe and it's not broken, it's just really sore." It's "Oh, your parent died. Well, shit that's not enough. Here's some cancer to deal with too."
Fingers crossed folks.

And I would be offended if that was what somebody got out of my posts here and asked me, when there is no reason to believe my SO is on drugs or doing anything to get high. Is that just a way of asking if he is “crazy” or something? Idk. But I’m not even azucena and that question would bother me. FWIW, I thought it was funny. I don't think I would have been nearly as irritated if his dinner snafu hadn't happened the same day that I had 4 home chef meal kits delivered particularly bc they have pretty short shelf lives. That in combination with having cleaned the fridge and throwing away so many leftovers and spoils just ring home how we're wasting money by eating out so much.

I used to make a "smorgasboard" for my kids when they were small with leftovers. A spoonful of mac and cheese, 1/3 of a pear, a bit of cottage cheese, 2 graham crackers, a dab of pulled chicken, a few peas and whatever else was in the refrigerator made them very happy and cleaned out all those little dishes.

I am so nervous. My interview is at 10. I took the day off so I could focus and not worry about timing and work.
Part of my brain knows I got this. Techs with my level of knowledge are becoming few and far between.
The other half has let my manager & co worm their way in. I got some really mean internal voices.
Trying not to pin a ton of hopes on this but it's hard. The breathing room with having EV gone and no meetings yet has really driven home the mental burden I've been carrying.
Just got to repeat what everyone else tells me. I got this.
You are smart enough you are good enough and gosh darn it people like you!

It's 1 ish and I am miserable. I started having sweats but not as bad yet I am antsy, so got up. Just feel awful. I made a cup of extra sleepy time tea to see if that helps me sleep. I think I have slept so much that is causing me to be awake too. At least DD is not coughing her head off so she is doing better. Hope you are both feeling better this morning.

Hope you’re able to drink your tea in peace, look over the next weekend happenings and plot outings to a farmer’s market, thrift store, local festival in addition to making a list of crafts that you want to tackle next. You got this! And as Rae said, you already have a job so just need to see if this would be a better fit and ask them all the burning questions you have. Hang in there!

DD tested positive too, so we are both pretty sick. Have appointments at the minor clinic tomorrow at noon. And I ordered soups and items from Walmart pickup so we are good, And told son to stay away. So sorry to hear you’re both sick. With as much as you had going on, and all the people coming to your house with garage sales, traveling, it might be hard to pinpoint where you caught it. The important thing is now to take it easy and rest as much as possible to give your body a chance to fight it off. Drink plenty of fluids between soups, Gatorade, tea, and just plain water. And really rest, take it as easy as you can. Many people have overdone it thinking they needed to do all kinds of stuff and it made their recovery longer. Just take care of yourself and DD, that will have to do for a few days. And call the doctor to see if you can both get Paxlovid. Hang in there!

I hope someone here can understand my excitement. I have had a difficult time finding the records of my parents' marriage because AI totally messed up the spelling. I had to go through frame by frame to find their license. I refused to believe they lied all of these years. I have the pictures taken that day and the date the pictures were developed is on the edge of the photo. Today, a newspaper popped up on Ancestry for the newspaper where my parents were married and has their marriage license in it. I'm guessing my neighbors heard my happiness if they were home. I was so excited to see that. I just emailed it to my sister. She doesn't get my excitement on any of this and will probably say they were married and we knew that. Well, one of my mom's brother's lied to their family for 50 years about their wedding date because they got married later than they said when they found out the wife was pregnant. They wanted to celebrate their 50th on the right date so the confessed to their children. It was definitely a possibility that we had been lied to. Congratulations! That took a lot of work, patience and persistence. It must be so rewarding to be able to fill in all these little missing pieces and tell the story of your family.

It doesn't help that my car was in the shop for over 3 months. And they told me they fixed the issue the first time, and then they really didn't. But, it's been driven for 2 weeks now, and no issues.

countrygirl2 I hope today's clinic visit gets you and your daughter on the road to recovery, and your son and husband too if they test positive. I can't wait for the new vaccine to come out this fall-we'll be standing in line for sure

Well, tried to sign up for the Experian thing but they seem to be stuck on the Verify Your Identity bit. Might be a bad day or time to do so. I would try after noon or tomorrow.

DH made breakfast and vacuumed-I cleaned up the dishes, filled feeders and ironed a shirt. And I ordered more melatonin gummies.

Gira, What kind of car? What did they fix or not? If its not fully broken it can be hard to diagnose the issue. Slightly OT, and feel free to ignore, but perhaps you can tell yourself and the universe you and the car are fine. If you keep telling us and the universe that bad things always happen to you, it will answer yes and the cycle continues.

I have found the wedding announcements for both sets of grandparents previously. Those are cool to read. No response from sister. I am going to send it to my cousin who is also in to genealogy. Last evening I was transcribing a Civil War pension file. The handwriting is so difficult to read. This soldier left two young children who received guardian pensions, which I had never heard off. Both parents were deceased and the one who served in the Civil War had suffered injuries that left him unable to do much in the way of work.

You have a place that is clean and neat to stay and those boxes in the other house? They'll be patiently waiting for you to get well and unload. Take as much as possible of the stress of your plate and relax

But I refrain. DD15 was at a sleepaway theater camp for an All State musical this past week. She was props manager. DH, bonus teen and I watched a preview of the show on Sun night. It's called "Sweet Charity" and the writer was def smoking something when he wrote most of it but in particular this random church scene where they called the pastor 'daddy'. Meanwhile I also can't get over that a show where the premise was a call girl looking for love was chosen for hs performance lol.
