After lunch we went to Academy Sports so I could get a Houston Texans shirt to wear Thursday night for their 1st pre-season game. I wanted a long-sleeve one too, but all they had of those were Nike brand and I'm not paying $90 for a t-shirt with a swoosh. I've always heard that Oofos are comfy and they had a display so I tried a pair on, and they were heavenly, but $74.99 for a pair of sandals I could only wear in the house is outside my financial comfort zone. The Saharan dust is here which is good for holding off the new low headed this way but I just can't breathe check out the Oofos website, and Amazon. sometimes they have deep sales on weird colors. if you're not leaving the house, do you really care what color they are? thatsaid, mine are lifesavers for how much time I spend on my feet.

Woke up to a sick kitty this morning. The vet's office had a cancellation, so we were able to get her in. She was vomiting, hiding, had a fever. Her blood work is normal, but they are keeping her overnight to monitor her. The house seems really quiet without her.

I knew someone here swore by them! I'll check that out. I might go to $30-$40 given that we have so much sandal weather here. I do find that wearing more supportive shoes in the house really helps reduce my knee pain.

I reread that post and I have no idea what having a her is? LOL! I think I meant we have a we can go to for no charge. We don't even have one in the county we are from in Indiana. I'm thinking twice about going to a bank this afternoon, I don't want to get others sick. Though I might go to a Walgreens and get a COVID test. If I have it will test DD too. Yes, I'm afraid we are contagious. Son, popped in and said he wasn't staying with both of us sick, don't blame him. Now I need to find out where to paint cans from the other house up here. There are a bunch. They have a place but sure there is a fee for that. So off to research that. I must be feeling better, I ate bacon and eggs. DD only wanted gatorade. "Have one here" was my guess. That makes sense - perhaps since trash services were being mentioned, it's a d.u.m.p. or recyling center. Probably a d.u.m.p. since that word gets deleted by the censors

Survived my first day back at work in 11 days...and I happened to have a dentist appointment today as well to make it even more fun. I got my new crown fitted and it still feels weird. I suppose it will for awhile.

One more comment on the defensiveness: I always associate it with How To Save a Life (The Fray). I think that’s specifically dealing with addiction, which is not a terrible way to think about it.
Try to slip past his defense, without granting innocence, indeed.

Last night was rough. I woke up about every 2 hours sweating like crazy and ended up drenched, then was cold. This happened at least 10 times but I went right back to sleep. Slept 13 hours overall. I'm still rather weak but better. DD was coughing and I had pills for that for her and it helped so she could get some rest. At least she drank a bottle of gatorade and water as she needed fluids. When I woke up from the sweating I would tell her to go to the bathroom, so we made it through the night dry. I need to make up her bed. So far this morning got trash service set up, will have cans Wednesday and bigger ones, YES! We also have a her which is good and I don't think there is any charge. Checked to make sure water service was switched and it was. The trash pickup is only $40 a month so that is good. And we have a garbage disposal, that has been years since we had one, so that will be handy. And I ordered a duplicate title for the motorhome, as I couldn't find the other nor could hubs. I'm sure he has it though. I had to bathe after last night and fix my hair, I looked wild. We are going to open bank accounts today and see if I can find where to change my Medicare supplement and drug coverage. Hopefully this week I can start on DD's changes for Medicaid, that needs done. It's nice to be able to do so much online. I'm glad you're feeling better but you are possibly still quite contagious so I hope you mask up when running your errands. I'm almost afraid to ask but what does "having a her" mean? I also wondered about this.

Newbie is mostly something like a ghost in our house, we can go hours without seeing her unless we just happen to be in whatever room she is napping in. She’s weird and mostly only comes to life when it is time for her to eat (I swear it seems like she can tell time lol), or when she’s outside. Boy, OTOH, is a very lovable pest. You can’t go hours without knowing he is in the house. But the house would feel weird if either one of them wasn’t at home. Whatever is going on with your kitty is not serious and even if it needs treatment, she will be okay. That is what I am claiming to be true!

A while back we were discussing whether we got a receipt at the gas pump. Well I do for the reason I stated at the time: to know when I last got gas. Today I decided to get gas and came to the conclusion that I have used 9 gallons since 5/7. Obviously I really, really don't like to drive and so I combine errands as much as possible. Still this has to be some kind of record even for me

Mister is out of sorts because he is going to work nights this week, to train a new guy that will be acting as a supervisor on Mister’s team.
The end result will be worth it, but Mister is really not thrilled about having to work nights to train him. But that is part of what Mister signed up for when he got this last promotion, when he knew that his staffing was severely lacking when it came to his management team, and specifically supervisors.
He went to bed last night like normal, but he is out of sorts today because he know he needs some more sleep before he has to stay up another 10 hours or so, but he can’t seem to make himself do it so far. So he will probably crash tomorrow.

I received them a few days ago and the blue matches my dress perfectly, and they are comfortable!

DH proudly texted that dinner would be ready when I got home from taking bonus teen to therapy. Got home to find that he'd taken the leftover taco meat, beans and corns that no one was eating for the last 3 days...and added tomato chunks, two more kinds of beans and overcooked elbow noodles. It's so gross that I can't even ask the kids to eat it.
Meanwhile I spent almost an hour cleaning out the fridge and freezer today bc we had so many different things open and leftover. Threw away a terrible amount of spoiled or close to spoiled food. I wish he would clean out the fridge to realize how much we waste bc he tends to ignore leftovers and also opens new packages (of things like cheese) and never closes the completely.
Not a great way to end the day.

I will say this - if I ever see a 9N, I'm buying 10 pair. lol...

So, I stepped on a scale for the first time in over a year yesterday and now I'm in a panic. I'm trying to decide if I try (again) to deal with this on my own or head to the doctor. At the very least I'd like to get a medically necessary form to use HSA funds for a diet plan or personal trainer, but I seriously need to do something. I walked the lake with Carrot yesterday and my heart rate was 165 and I was dripping sweat when we were done (it's only 3.7 miles!) Paid $30 for another app this morning that will probably end up just being a waste of money. What do you like to do? Figure that out and do it. If it's bike riding, take a spin class. Like to dance? Find a dance class. Whatever you would like to spend time doing, find a way to exercise doing it. Look at your diet and see what can be cut out or substituted for something healthier. We can always help with substitutions too if needed.

The tullis house has a contract pending. Now I can stop being torn on buying it. Now to just find another one! I think my realtor is feeling sorry for me. She said she's going to start sending me any new listings she gets and if I like them I can see them before it goes on the market.

One of DH's brother's and SIL looked at houses for 2 years. I'm surprised their realtor didn't them but they did finally find a friggin' house so I guess it wasn't all bad. I would shit a brick if I spent 2 years looking. I do not have that kind of patience. Or level of nitpickiness.

Stupid question alert! I got a letter from DH's wheelchair company, either last week or week before. Apparently there was a data breach, what else is new, and some of his protected health information may have been compromised. He's been dead for 4 years. Do I really have to care? Fraud happens at any time but none of it could come back on me since he's, you know, dead. I have proof and all that. Right?

Well, do you get some kind of survivor pension/benefit? if so, and DHs SS# is used by someone else, the entity providing that benefit might decide your DH is not really dead and come after you for "restitution". I don't see any other potential problem but I suck at criminal ideas so who knows

Plus Social Security was notified by the funeral home so they know he's dead. Meh. Guess I'll take my chances. It's just health info, not financial info, as far as I know. Just noticed there's a free credit monitoring thing. Guess I'll see if they'll let me sign up or if his SS# gets flagged.

Not a great way to end the day. It’s not the same thing, but when my children were growing up, I cooked meals that I tasted when it was done, and said never mind, what takeout do y’all want? LOL! They like foods that I don’t like, and I provided those foods for them even if I wouldn’t eat it myself, but that was stuff like oatmeal, milk, grits… stuff that wasn’t bad for them, I just didn’t like it. But when I cooked something that tasted horrible to me, I wasn’t going to try to make them eat it, and I would just go get something from a restaurant. All of that to say that I understand your decision that what your DH decided for dinner, is so gross that you can’t ask the kids to eat it. Dd trained me very well on that, when she was a toddler, to not try to make her eat something she didn’t like or tasted nasty to her. Because I would see it again, in the form of vomit. And because I don’t do well with that kind of stuff, I’d throw up myself, trying to clean up the mess she’d made. So yeah, if it’s nasty to me, I definitely wasn’t trying to make my children eat it, even if I’d just cooked it lol.

After about the 10 piece of mail I returned a form asking them to please put in change of address. Name and address of cemetery and lot number. She was buried in the cemetery that was sending all the mail. She had been there for two years.

Sometimes the only way to get them to stop is send a death certificate.
I did a few things at the house. Loaded up the paint cans, not much in them, but taking up needed space. I took the clothes out of a suitcase but only hung up about 5 garments. And I put the sheets off the beds in the washer. I forgot detergent and no way was I searching for it. Was there about 20 minutes and left.
DD wanted broccoli cheese soup and none of the Subways had it went to 2. So I gave her half of my sandwich, then I will fix her tomato soup.
Got a COVID test and getting ready to do that.
wanted a purse but don't know where the box is, I have this great big one I used on the plane and its too big and heavy.
My brain feels like it is muddled or something can't even think straight or type. It's like it's moving at a snails pace and not coherent.
Still very weak, am going to soak in Epsom salts again tonight, that should feel very good.
It's been raining off and on all day. I'm happy about that as everything needs watered.
Ok, off to take my COVID test, hope I don't have it.

I was getting so much crap in the mail for my dad, I just started putting Return To Sender: He's DEAD on them. They finally got the hint.
