DH has been working on an online training. Apparently, nobody bothered to proofread it. The amount of grammatical and other errors is ridiculous. It seems some of the errors are autocorrect. One line said to ”Mow the individual . . .”
He texted his boss who said it should have been, “Allow the individual. . . .”

My nitpick was on glove safety training. The woman was removing her PPE in the wrong order.

It's 9:15 and I'm ready for a nap. I did a guided meditation at bedtime and slept well but woke up around 3:30 and didn't get back to sleep until maybe 4:45. When the alarm went off I was deep in a crazy dream and it took me a minute to orient myself and get up. I've run a load of laundry, did the cleaning cycle on the coffee maker, and cleaned toilets. I have one more load to run later and need to scrub the tub. countrygirl2 Glad you arrived and are getting settled in. I don't know about Washington but here we can put a clause in an offer to require professional deep cleaning. If this is not specified, the norm is "broom clean" which is just sweep it out. You might check into this on your next home purchase.

I’m finishing up my work event this morning and then FINALLY heading home tonight. I am counting down the minutes until I am at the airport, lol. Fingers crossed for no major flight disruptions.

DH was bored yesterday and went to the KIA dealership. He has the new car itch, but hasn't seen anything he wants, so he's sort of a shopping surrogate for me as I HATE car shopping, especially when I can't justify getting the Land Rover I really want. The dealer had a Sportage with AWD and a bigger engine which meets my desire for something that sits higher than my stupid Subaru Impreza, also has AWD, and actually moves when I step on the gas. I'll probably look at it next month. The local auto shop is very interested in buying my car which is super low mileage and very well maintained. So you want a high hip height vehicle instead the Impreza. Can you financially swing a lease on a Land Rover and then plan to it after the three years or whatever term they are selling now? But I probably should ask what kind of justify are you talking about. I can't afford a new Land Rover justify? Or I shouldn't get a Land Rover even used because I should drive my cars into the ground justify or something else? FWIW, I never got to drive a Land Rover, I went with one of those free test drive post cards once to a dealer, and the salesman just wanted to check the box so I would get a free GC or an entry in some sweepstakes. He was right in that I was less serious about the vehicle than others I had test driven back then, but he was wrong in turning me away too. How would I know what was exceptional about a Land Rover if I never sat in one and experienced it myself? (Over two decades ago and I bet he would not have done that if had been male instead of the obvious female I am.) Yes, I want a taller vehicle for better road visibility and clearance in our frequently flooded streets. I have never driven a Land Rover either but really like the exterior styling. I can afford one but feel spending north of $60K on a vehicle just for looks is ridiculous when I garage it outside and only drive about 2,000 miles a year. And an old woman driving a high $$ car like that is asking to be car jacked in today's world. The KIA is around $40K. I'll also look at a Jeep or two.

The cat decided that since I woke at 2:30 and looked at my phone for the time, that it was appropriate to walk all over me and then stick her paws in my face so that I would get up. All she was interested in was the tuna treat and wet food I give her when I first get up and get coffee going. She had plenty of overnight kibble left, so she certainly wasn't starving. If there was such a thing she would win an Oscar for Best Cat Diva. I need a nap.

My wonderful barisita knew I was having surgery on my nose. She told me it is healing very nicely. She told me the swelling that is left will go down.
I mask when I go anywhere indoors. I can not wear a mask because the cancer was in the bridge of my nose.

first world problems - my wireless mouse suddenly doesn't want to really click the left mouse button. it's like something is stuck under the key. I couldn't dismantle it to check out the interiors, so I went on Amazon and found the exact same mouse for $14. it's arriving this afternoon.

I had to stop using a wireless mouse for work a few years ago. It does crazy, wonky things in the software we use. A corded mouse didn't do stupid stuff. I just had work order me a new corded mouse, since it stopped working properly. Left click was pulling up right click menus and other weird things. I was truly stunned when I saw that shipping was double the cost of the mouse. Corporate policies waste a crap ton of money. I could have gotten the same mouse for less and free shipping with Amazon.

That said, I am reading my dad's copies of some Edgar Rice Burroughs books from the 60s and the pre-computer age typos missed by the publisher is crazy.

I don't even know where the mouse that was issued with this laptop is at this point, probably in the desk I abandoned during COVID when I was informed that my desk had been designated as a "hoteling spot" while everyone was supposed to be overly spaced out when they were actually in the office. but, even if I didn't just buy it myself, I do have flexibility to buy and expense office supplies on my corporate card. so anything I need for the printer/scanner, for instance, comes from Staples.com and gets expensed.

As a worker-bee, I don't get corporate cards, and getting reimbursement is a ridiculous process, so it was path of least resistance to let appropriations take care of it.

oh, I'm reminded on the regular that I'm just a worker bee as well. I'm just one who manages remote operations and has to travel occasionally. if I was expected to front travel costs like my friend M does, that would seriously affect my willingness to travel.

Depending on the context I could see someone thinking that sentence was indeed correct Speaking of typos my mom used to be a transcriptionist and she always said you wouldn't believe the typos that made it into the recordings. Her favorite was when the guy goes "Q . .as in Cuba". She said that one made her brain short circuit.

So this. We have one newbie that says Golf Coast. It is very pronounced so not miss hearing. I think they are trying to correct since a very noticeable pause takes place before saying Gulf. At least they are trying. As for scrolling text that has turned into Saturday morning cartoons at times.

Why would anyone spend $60k on a vehicle with that kind of reliability? After TD’s experience with Range Rovers, he would not touch one if it was given to him. DH has had Imprezas, but they can go like a streak, but don’t set up off the ground. I drive an old Forester, which DOES have the power and the height, but Subaru has downgraded the power to increase the fuel consumption. They've also increased the size. My 2007 is still going strong, but it is a 17 year old vehicle. Since we do need the increased ground clearance that the Miata and the STi don’t have in crappy weather, I’m not sure what my next vehicle will be. Toyota has brought back the Venza, which is AWD and I like the styling of but I have not tried it out yet. I do like Audi’s little SUV, but very much dislike the idea of proprietary parts. I need a vehicle that is high, but not too high since I cannot climb into it…..I need to back end into it. So because I have not made a decision, I don’t make a move.

We used to have two old, like 1995 ish, Corollas that I'd hit my head bending down to get into. Since our first RAV4, 2006 which we still have, and our "new" 2015 RAV4 I like the easy entry.

I think Knoxville's airport is pretty tiny. You could also reserve the Uber ahead of time so you aren't waiting around on that. And if they are normally late that buys you some buffer time. I did a chunk of my stupid 8 hours of mandatory training for my contract certification at my aunt's last month. She has a nice covered patio with a fan and it faces her waterfall/pond. Better than staring at the walls in my house. I was irritated though because if you clicked to another window it stopped the video. I think I'm gonna roll the dice on the earlier flight.

We road tripped in my aunt's brand new hybrid Sonata. It was super nice and we made it almost the entire way to Bismark ND from near the Iowa/WI border in MN on one tank of gas, but getting in and out of a sedan when I'm used to a van or SUV was annoying.

Yeah, when this one goes I don’t see us doing cats again. I had DH stop doing boxes a long time ago because bending over to scoop was not helping his back problems. The older I get, the less I enjoy toting 20lb litter up and dirty litter down the stairs. We weren’t going to get any more pets after the cats are gone, but the more I think about it, the more reluctant I am not to have a critter. I have been relying on pets in the house to give me environmental cues that I can’t hear. I would really like to get a medium size doodle of some kind. Low shed, smart, friendly, and from what I hear, very loveable.

I slept well last night. Fell asleep in the recliner about 5 and slept for an hour or more. Made myself get up, brushed my teeth and crashed about 9. Had to get up to tinkle a few times but right back to sleep. Got up about 9 this morning. I'm feeling pretty good. The soreness is almost gone and my back is fine this morning. Sleeping on the floor 2 nights on that mattress wasn't so good. Back to my tempurpedics, ahhhh.
Fed DD, glad we have a place here already for her to stay and not a hotel room. So off I go to get a few things at the grocer and tackle the house today. It may not be 2500 sq ft or something but still a lot to clean. And yes I would say it was just broom clean. The really dirty room was the hobby room and I can see why with all her art and stuff out there. but its clean now and looks good. I won't get to landscaping for awhile, that's for sure. It all needs watered. I need to see if the sprinkly system is hooked up, that would help if it is. May have son come over and check it out. I still have to find roofers, want to do that Monday, the house seriously needs the roof redone and PDQ from the pics I saw.
A friend was trying to get in touch with hubs and can't. I talked to him last night so he was fine then. I tried calling and no answer. Probably his phone is off. But he will find him. He is helping him with things which is so nice.
Ok, time to get busy, hope I meet my goals today. I told hubs, not going to push all the furniture against the walls so we can't paint in a couple of rooms, he said, ho problem.
So off I go, later all.
