Each time we added a kid to our insurance (in VA) we had to name them as a primary driver on one vehicle, but they were insured on all. Agent said it was because they lived in the house so presumably had access to all vehicles. We were also required to add them as soon they were licensed.

Taking a break in Fargo. We were going to swing up to the northernmost point but one of my aunts didn't have her passport so we should be home fairly early this evening. It was a good trip,a little odd in that my cousin that we drove 10 hours to visit really didn't make any time for us while we were there, but at least my aunt got to see her grandkids for a little bit and the drive has been a lot of fun.

Then FMLA form crap, that will be next. Would like to be on to dad is dead estate stuff b4 COB my time, hopefully earlier.

After the way DN3 respected my boundaries without comment yesterday, I wish he had been available to drive me to the surgery.
People that are working can't really do those kinds of things.
I thought he would bring the food to me yesterday after work. Well, he had turned in his resignation as he is going back to teaching. He needed to leave early because he had to do his fingerprints for the background check.
He's done the background check twice before at schools, so he knows that isn't a problem.
They have had a lot of major life changes since the first of the year. New house, new car, new baby, and now new job.

My oldest daughter turned 16 two weeks ago. When she got her license we had to add her to the insurance and it's an additional $110 per month. We bought her a used car yesterday and that's another $240 per month. So our insurance has increased $350 a month or $4,200 per year . We've used USAA for years but I think it's time to shop around.

I would think she would prefer a restaurant if she refuses to enter your home. What would she do if she's at your cookout and has to go to the bathroom? She'd have to enter your house. What a weirdo. I was surprised that she didn't like the restaurant idea. When we had get togethers in the past, she would come inside to use the bathroom and then go back outside and tell everyone that it made her skin itch, and then spend the rest of the evening complaining about itching. The last time I invited them over for a meal, I had them approve the menu in advance. But that day she started a gluten free diet, so she wasn't willing to eat any of the food that I prepared. She sat around complaining to everyone about how hungry she was until I reheated some of my leftovers from the fridge that were gluten free. That is part of why I am not open to a cookout on the back porch tomorrow. ETA she does not have celiac disease or anything, the gluten free was to lose weight. I think if I were you I would make it my personal mission to always own at least one cat and make sure that all meals contained gluten. I'm petty like that though.

Going through some mandatory online training right now. It's on "workplace violence." I'm a full-time remote worker.

DD15 will become DD16 next week. DH is working with our car insurance broker to set up billing - seems like +$150ish per month which ouch! I thought teens were typically listed as main driver on your least expensive vehicle but DH seems to be telling me that she'll be listed as a driver on all 3. Does that sound right? She'll get a good student discount as well as a discount for taking the driving lesson package that we paid for. Depends on the carrier. For example, State Farm assigns drivers to cars like you're wanting to do. Progressive spreads the risk across all vehicles and you'll see one total liability price and the other coverages assigned individually. Sounds like yours spreads the risk across all vehicles.

Bonus teen started her first paid job yesterday so she's now a tax paying citizen. DH is already making jokes about her helping pay for our soc sec. ETA meanwhile I finally tracked down why my check was $60 short last week...apparently I crossed a Medicare surtax salary threshold. Booo, hiss! Not trying to humblebrag - mostly I truly find this tax stuff fascinating and it's completely nonsensical to me that Medicare goes up at a certain salary point whereas social security tax stops completely well before that. Not cool. I've been reading the posts here for quite some time, and I still don't know what a bonus teen is.

When I added DS we chose the car he was primary driver on (the 97 with no collision). I can't remember what it started out as rate wise...I want to say 400 and something every 6 months...but it dropped every year on his birthday. Now its less than $30/month. Yup, we always had DD listed to drive the oldest cars. We warned her she couldn't touch the newer ones. At the time, (I still can't believe it) we had a total of 4 cars since we got 2 from my parents. We drive EVERYTHING until it dies, or at least is no longer working properly. The older cars were REALLY old, so the insurance hit wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Work today went to shit quickly over the dumbest thing ever. Like, the amount of anger this one, small, insignificant thing brought out was so far out of proportion to the event, it makes me question the health and competency of the person who was angered. My boss is amazing and stopped the shit from rolling downhill but it has made me realize how this is the top of my professional growth at this org. I want literally nothing to do with working any closer to the angry bear than what I’m doing right now.

Went to Cirque yesterday with Simon and Mel. It was fantastic! They had to take a break about 45 minutes into the the show. Severe thunderstorms, and apparently it wasn't safe to go on. That wasn't the intermission.

I just did 2 mandatory (for my group) trainings on trade compliance. I lost track of how many times I nodded off. The important thing is that I passed the assessments.

Would you benefit from hanging out after the class to network? If the class is at the hotel and you are good with just cutting out (a lot of people tend to stay back with questions and to network IME) you will be fine - in that town, it would be different in September when college football season starts. That airport is not big and is usually a layover spot. They are also not known for getting flights out on time. If it were me, I would take the later flight and take a little comp time off the next morning.

My self proclaiming super green company is getting new carpet next month. Current carpet is 8ish yrs old and everyone keeps saying it looks great.
This will prompt all of us to have to pack up our offices and work from home for a week per floor. And, this prompted management including my boss to start side eying some of us who are unofficially mostly remote. We've once again run out of offices for vice presidents and above. Months ago, I told offered two of my coworkers my office since I wasn't coming in and they were. Neither wanted to go to the trouble of moving. My boss asked that I put 1-2 days per week in writing but he wouldn't hold me to it. I added that I was open to office sharing or moving back to cubicle land.
Comical that carpet might pull the rug out from under my unofficial arrangement (pun intended). Also crazy to insist when my boss, his boss, his boss, and his boss all work remotely from the Northeast which likely means they have higher COLA salary AND company pays for travel and lodging when they do come into StL. Me working from home doesn't cost them a dime.

A couple of years ago, our annual mandatory trainings started having an 80% test out option. So several of us may have compiled an unofficial Q/A bank to save ourselves 40-60 mins for each one. This year, someone is wise to us because they mix up questions as well as adding different answer choices. Boo!

I could be at the gate 45 minutes from walking out my front door if I got dropped off. If I had to park in LT parking, it might take another 30 min. I lived about 15-20 min from the airport. There is no way I’d do this in Seattle!

Right now my brain feels like a garbage disposal that someone piled too much food into and it's hopelessly stuck. I've read roughly 30-40 emails and texts (mostly redundant and unnecessary) and hit one that says "I'm not going to listen to a bitchfest from you naysayers". This particular pearl of professional communication was sent to the full board of directors by a person being pushed as a potential "Social Media Chair" in charge of all our organization's outreach via Nextdoor, Facebook, and email blast.
What could possibly go wrong with giving this small-brained, ill-informed, racist nut job unfiltered access to our social media accounts?

I'm leaving on Wednesday and coming back Friday so I get two days off afterwards. I just don't want to get home at 10 pm. If I leave at 2:30 I'll get home at 7.

Pink, what kind of Mustang did he get? Regular or Mach-E ... I missed this yesterday. He got a Mustang GT. I assume the Mach-E is an electric vehicle? His is powered by gasoline, and it drinks it like water.

The Air Tag thing yesterday was really weird. Especially after I Googled like Mich suggested and learned more about them and how they work.
We could most definitely hear a faint sound when we used that on my IPad. I Googled to see what it sounded like, and that was the sound we were hearing. And it wasn’t just me that heard it, Mister did too, after he drove his car away and came back. The first time I heard it was while he was gone to try to see if it was on his car, so that seems like it meant it was here at the house somewhere.
It seems like if it was on Mister’s car, he would’ve gotten the alert on his IPhone, instead of me getting it on my IPad.
I still dont know what to think about it.
