It is a high stress business. DH is under a lot of stress and it is mostly from his company's incentive goals. They cut the commission rate basically in half and then offer incentive compensation if you meet the monthly goal they set. They are aggressive, and DH is meeting it maybe 1/2 or 3/4 of the time. His income is up, not down, but his stress level is way up, and really there is not reason that we need him to make the kind of $$ he is bringing home. He is being told if he does not meet the goals they set they will shut him down, which just amps up the pressure. We need about 3-5 years yet to save the optimal amount of retirement $$. Sorry. There is most definitely an AirTag somewhere around the entrance to our garage. We can just barely hear it when we make it play sound, but we can’t pinpoint its exact location and find it. I am kind of freaking out. Try not to freak out. You will figure out how to find it and deactivate it. While it might be the car/garage, do you think Kiddo might be AirTag'd by mom and he left it behind by accident?

Sorry. It is cruel when they do that to salespeople and producers just so they can feel justified to lay some of you off in the near future. No, its not a layoff. He is an Exclusive Agent 100% commission. He does have a non-compete which would pay 150% of his last year’s commission. This has been his career for 25+ years. He could try a new career for 5-10 years, but it will be better if he lasts another 3 years or so. It was a guess on my part. I've been through too many mergers and acquisitions.

After riding in a taxi from the Pudong airport in Shanghai to the hotel there was a major interest on my part when approaching street lights. As you approach a street light at an intersection there is a count down or count up when the light will change from red to green or green to red. What caught my attention is the red to green countdown, for example I was looking at the light and it was counting down from 25s red light to green. Meaning the intersection light was turning from red to green as 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 GO!!!!!!!! What a dream for drag racing enthusiast racing from light to light.

Good morning, thoughtful invisipeeps, assessing religious faiths. Welcome to Thursday. I hope your day offers succor as called for and merriment between times. I hope your Cheerios are free of pee. Today I'm going on another Costco run. We're out of Melona, for one, and dangerously low on coffee. We will also go check on our pics on display in two galleries. Plus I need to dig in and revamp my website, moving some of the less popular photos out and adding in some new. Yesterday it was very cloudy in the early a.m. and dark as the middle of the night when we first got to the beach. It rained very lightly later in the day. I'm fighting the urge to be transparent at my place of employment. It is hard, because I have possible information that could shape not only product, but how the work is done. I know it's not my concern. It's still hard. You are silent because it potentially could will hurt you? Fixed, and yes. It has hurt me, as recently as a few months ago.

As you approach a street light at an intersection there is a count down or count up when the light will change from red to green or green to red. What caught my attention is the red to green countdown, for example I was looking at the light and it was counting down from 25s red light to green. Meaning the intersection light was turning from red to green as 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 GO!!!!!!!! What a dream for drag racing enthusiast. I sometimes do this with crossing signs, at crosswalks. Although not for those reasons. Usually it's because I'm feeling anxious. I'd be afraid someone would be in the crosswalk, or going through the light late. I regularly walk at intersections with countdowns. They give me a rough idea when the light is going to turn green or red depending on which way I am looking. For safety reasons I often have a preferred way to cross a 4-point intersection depending on what regular drivers tend to do. I think I posted here that one day a person in a vehicle wasn't thinking and decided it could cut through the intersection before the person on the bike would. They were wrong, and I know there is a law on the books for this county in specific that prohibits driving through an intersection while a walk signal is still active. (Yes they hit the bike and there was damage to the bike and the car) A woman was killed, and I think her father pushed to get the law on the books. Every once in a while, I feel like getting one tee shirt made up with that law's number on it. Won't save me from getting hit necessarily but might educate a few who let their impatience get the better of them. I think the countdowns are actual seconds, but not entirely sure. On one corner is a senior housing building.

If we can manage to keep some of the flat surfaces somewhat clear in the next few months, I might even be able to more fully decorate for halloween and Christmas. I don't think that's happened since the missy was born.

Depending on where you are and local conditions its wise to feel anxious. When I came to NJ, I think in the first three years I learned there was the concept of orange or pink lights. Yep, they do not exist, but apparently was the character of the yellow into red light condition. I think orange was the dangerous risky one and pink was you knew everything was clear just as the light turned red so if you were in motion or in the intersection when the traffic light turns red, the preferred option is to go through the intersection as quickly and safely as possible. However, if you see or sense danger near by, you may want to back up out of the intersection if it is physically possible. Sometimes you might be one of three cars in the intersection when the light changes. If vehicles drive around you, I pray I am OK until the next green light and when I clear the intersection. There have been some pretty bad accidents near where I live especially when they were doing construction and/or redoing traffic lights. I don't think anyone has been killed, but I really do not know. More than a few totaled crashed cars have been seen by me. And lately if it happens in winter conditions, car parts including front bumpers and license plates will migrate down a block or three because of snow removal.

If we can manage to keep some of the flat surfaces somewhat clear in the next few months, I might even be able to more fully decorate for halloween and Christmas. I don't think that's happened since the missy was born. How old is she now? I think flat surfaces attract paperwork that needs to be done or filed. Among other things of course.

Going to enjoy "Whiskey Night" with long time coworkers friends from at least 15 years ago. This is a tradition when I happen to be in China. I travelled from Beijing to Shanghai to meet them for what is referred as "Whiskey Night". We just had an amazing dinner consisting of live seafood hot pot where you enter an aquarium and pick the live seafood you are going to eat. There is nothing like it in all my vast travels. Will survive the evening to fight another day.

Going to enjoy "Whiskey Night" with long time coworkers friends from at least 15 years ago. This is a tradition when I happen to be in China. I travelled from Beijing to Shanghai to meet them for what is referred as "Whiskey Night". We just had an amazing dinner consisting of live seafood hot pot where you enter an aquarium and pick the live seafood you are going to eat. There is nothing like it in all my vast travels. Will survive the evening to fight another day. Be safe and have fun!

Shanghai is so beautiful! If first time there, take a nighttime boat on the river. The riverside buildings have such beautiful neon pictures and light shows
DD and I each chose a building that we thought was unusual. Mine was the one with a Moibus strip running up, over and down the skyscraper. DD liked the one with the giant hole in the top We loved the French quarter

Waiting for a ride. Will pick up the originals of medical forms HR wants filled out. I think all I need now is the FMLA form filled out by the doctor. This company and my last one likes both the disability and FMLA forms filled out so they can submit them together. So tired.

Waiting to fly home. I'm very thankful I get to go home earlier than planned. I got to the airport way early but I'm just ready to be home.

I take a bathroom break and go the long ways to the pilot plant bathroom instead of the one right next to the lab. I used to hide in the animal facility cleaning/rearranging cages for an hour or so when I was frustrated at the university. It was funny one day my boss and I were working together and she commented that when she was younger she used to hide in the animal room to get away from people because nobody questions what you are doing down there lest they end up having to help. NOOO I don't do that . . Nor do I bitch to the mice while doing it because I know they won't repeat what I say.

I'm going to top golf with company 3 this week for more networking. That 45 minute golf lesson has paid off more than I could have imagined. Having to find corporate styled clothes and hairstyles twice in as many weeks is definitely rough these days. But hopefully I can get some more business out of it.
I'd also like to come up with a dba for my company. I have a generic business name with my initials right now which I suppose is fine, but I don't particularly like it and since I'm starting to expand I feel like its now or never. I want something simple, that I could grow with, and is easy to spell for email purposes. But I'm terrible at coming up with those things.

Bonus teen started her first paid job yesterday so she's now a tax paying citizen. DH is already making jokes about her helping pay for our soc sec. ETA meanwhile I finally tracked down why my check was $60 short last week...apparently I crossed a Medicare surtax salary threshold. Booo, hiss! Not trying to humblebrag - mostly I truly find this tax stuff fascinating and it's completely nonsensical to me that Medicare goes up at a certain salary point whereas social security tax stops completely well before that.

Which is why I am so gassed. In other news, I dusted a light fixture attached to our ceiling 3. That's about as common as a Big Foot sighting. I need to get at work now.

I thought teens were typically listed as main driver on your least expensive vehicle but DH seems to be telling me that she'll be listed as a driver on all 3. Does that sound right? She'll get a good student discount as well as a discount for taking the driving lesson package that we paid for.

DH just has her down on our van. My car was in the shop from March-July, so he didn't add her to my car. There is no main driver anymore. And she does have to be attached to a vehicle. I actually don't think that's too bad. DS's insurance for a 20 year old truck is like 100 a month, and he's 20. So, this is a poor way of saying it sounds sort of right to me. DH won't know how much our insurance goes up until he gets the actual bill. DD1 has to pay for her insurance, and DH is responsible for paying for paying the insurance for his van. So. I stay out of all that. (I just confirmed. ) We'll add DD1 to my car, eventually. I want to get through the pay cut first.

When I added DS we chose the car he was primary driver on (the 97 with no collision). I can't remember what it started out as rate wise...I want to say 400 and something every 6 months...but it dropped every year on his birthday. Now its less than $30/month.
