I have an in person interview for the technical analyst position next Tuesday. Fingers crossed!
ETA: And I have a phone screen for the clinical lab technician role.
I found another research scientist job to apply for at the one company so we'll see about that. Their QA department was cuckoo but my former coworker works a lot with the research department and says they are cool so I trust his judgement there and take a chance.

I am shocked by what I see when I look in the mirror this morning. I will not be leaving the house. when DD was about a year old she headbutted me, and gave me a perfect shiner. I still had to go to work. I had law enforcement pulling me aside and asking me if I was safe. One of the attorneys i regularly worked with offered to beat the snot out of my husband. LOL! When we had Harpo, he peed indiscriminately. I would take him out and 15 min later there would be a puddle. One day he peed on the tile, I stepped in it and in an attempt to save the compost bucket full of coffee grounds and onion skins, I flung myself against the wall for support. I fell anyway, but hit the bridge of my nose and had 2 beautiful shiners, and what I think were fractured ribs. When I went into class (I was doing the CAD classes at the time) the guys were convinced TD had belted me and wanted to take him out. Other than it being nice that a bunch of 20 year old guys wanted to help me, I had to convince him that a puddle of urine and a compost bucket were the cause. Had I not tried to save the compost, I’d have fallen only on my ass. The compost still went everywhere, so my attempt was in vain.

Just got back from the vet with Harriet. We had to punt on her vaccinations due to her surgery last month. Looks like the mutt has some arthritis in her hips, so got an NSAID to try out on her to see if she’ll be more comfortable. Other than that, she’s in good shape.
Also learned about the new hoops we need to jump through to take her across the border. What a joke! The form we have can be sooooo easy to manufacture, so am wondering what the purpose is. The vet’s office is just rolling with it.

Apparently my BIL's wife didn't tell him that they weren't going to his parent's 50th anniversary party before she started telling everyone else. When my husband talked to him yesterday, he was extremely upset and said that they were all going. Right now the current plan is for her to sit out in the car during the part where they renew their vows, and then come in for the party. So the family crisis has been averted, at least until the next holiday or big gathering. Is she 100% sure she won't catch Catholic cooties from being in the parking lot? I mean she is condoning it allowing herself to even be driven there and sit in your parking lot. Maybe it would be best if she just didn't come. You don't want her to risk eternal damnation would you.

Well, I definitely have cancer. My options are chemo or cutting it out. I opted for surgery. They said with chemo, it could come back. Why is it that so many of us have have cancer ? Could it be that YMAM is giving us cancer?

Feeling old. Apparently no one I work with knows the meaning of the 80s slang term “tubular”, only the meaning of “made from tubes”. So when I respond to a vial question as “totally tubular” I get funny looks. Tubular Bells, by Mike Oldfield.

If I were going to do something like that, I would be hiding out as unobtrusively as possible. Because she is very clearly an attention whore?

I like the pic Finninme. I'm up because part of my brain reminded me I have to send the text of the day until I get the paperwork from the doctor to submit to HR. Then we can graduate to updating it periodically. My first appointment to see what is wrong with my knee will be beginning of August. Same weekend as the planned scattering of dad's ashes. I want to go now, but I do not want to make my knee worse. I will reach out to executor sis B possibly via letter. Texting can work, but the nice thing about a letter is it is longer and can be reread until it makes sense. And burning a letter or shredding it is less destructive than hurling one's phone across the room simply because you don't like what you are reading. Not sure if the mailman/post office peep will come at the same time they did last week. I know we had a temp, but I am not sure when the regularly scheduled person is to return to our route. It was fun the other day to watch two different Amazon drivers deliver packages to the same building almost simultaneously. One had the Amazon tiny van, probably an official FT employee, and the other one was driving a nice newer car, probably a contract/temp employee. Both of course had their vests on so So probably time to craft an email to HR letting them know I did not forget they are waiting on paperwork from the doc and me. Until my first specialist knee appointment was scheduled, filling out paperwork would have been part fiction. Now we know when I can first see the specialist and the doc knows what she might hear from said specialist. I wish I could just be well and my knee be OK without going through all this. But that's not RL. It is damaged more than it has been before. Probably cumulative overuse and abuse of needing to use NJ Transit busses 6 days a week so I can have a roof over my head. Need to work harder on becoming independently wealthy. So, what's the plan? TKR? Total knee replacement?

Just watched our 14U softball team (via livestream) punch their ticket to the Junior Little League World Series!
They are a combined team with a few players from our local little league and players from two other area teams. They won the state championship about two weeks ago and just won the Eastern Regionals today. This is unprecedented in our area!

My mom tried to give the JW that came to our house every Saturday her Catholic cooties. They doubled down and started showing up twice a week. I told my mom she apparently issued a challenge. It was getting to where I thought my mom was going to chant roseries out on the lawn to get them to go away.

But she's not trying to be unobtrusive, she's making it all about her. She literally got up and walked out of the funeral service for their grandmother while their cousin sang the Ave Maria. The cousin is a teacher now but she got a full ride through the university on a vocal scholarship, and the song was very beautiful and touching. Why Why is she like that?

I am shocked by what I see when I look in the mirror this morning. I will not be leaving the house. but I hope it that it is just swelling/discoloration and that the pain is, and will stay, bearable. There is swelling. It doesn't hurt if I am doing nothing. It hurts to talk because the muscles above my mouth are so swollen. Doctor assured me I will look much better by Monday. He better have been correct. So many sutures. The pictures didnt prepare me for it to be my face.
