Mr. T saw Mister and I in the driveway with the hood of the new car up, and he walked over and teased Mister by asking “you broke it already?” I told him if it was broke, Mister would’ve been laying in the driveway sobbing.
So they have been poking around under the hood and talking about cars and “boy” stuff for at least 30 minutes now.
Mister has lowered the hood, and is probably way past his limit for conversation. But I’m not gonna try to “save” him this time lol.

So, it’s a Friday evening, and I’m boring and work weekends. But what do y’all have planned for the weekend? Respectable stuff, or pure shenanigans, I’m here for it all. So what y’all got going on for the weekend? DH is working. One of his employees did not meet a deadline today, and what she did turn in was less than half the project. So he is going to cram the project completion himself this weekend so that the client can have it on Monday. He is royally pissed. So my plan tomorrow is hit the farmers market early, head to a place that has stone that we want in the 4x8 space between the bottom of our porch stairs and the gravel drive (when the landscaper finally gets all the plants I want, he will level and set those stones), hit the grocery store and Fresh Market (no Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, or Sprouts here), check out Home Goods (never been to this store) for fall/halloween decor, hit up Kohls. Everything is 30 minutes to an hour away, so I will be gone most of the day. I am perfectly okay doing stuff by myself tomorrow.

Packing and cleaning. I have the closets all emptied but what we are wearing the next few days.
I intend to pull the stove out and clean inside and out. I've been ditching some stuff from the fridge, need to do more. We are eating breakfast but the other meals we are mostly buying stuff from the deli. I'm going to go through the freezer and pitch stuff and move the rest to the big freezer so I can clean it up too. I want to pull it out and clean.
It's getting to where I need to clean odds and ends up and pitch or pack those. I filled a trash bag from the pill closet today from old out of date items. I went through purses and purged a bunch, packed another box of shoes. Hubs said do the best I can and if we can't keep it all we will donate up there. I just hate to have to take the stuff, so I am going deep in purging.
Got the screens off and washed. Now we can hose down the windows then clean them. Will make things inside look so much brighter.
We are running out of time, only 3 or 4 days to finish. Hope we can do it. I am sure trying.
They guys are back and cleaning up a pile of bricks that were here when we moved here, the yard looks very nice.
Hubs has gotten the motorhome going. He drove it today, did fine so I need to vac it inside and do some minimal cleaning.
I'm tired tonight but not exhausted like I was that one night.
Hubs went and got dinner, I'm ready for a bath and need to do our pills for the week.
Getting anxious now to get done and just go.

So what y’all got going on for the weekend? boring weekend planned here as well. I have walkway weeding and pool cleaning on tap before it gets too hot, and I still need to clean the bathrooms. that's the only stuff I didn't clean today. 🤷♀️

Thanks. I've decided that if I don't have anything by the end if the month and it's still on the market, I'm going to make an offer on the Tullis house. That's a good decision. Home buying has changed since 2009 when I bought this house. I had to attach a check for the earnest money to the offer. Part of the counter was an increase to the earnest money. I had put down $1000 on my own. That's the way the market in Boulder worked and this didn't cost anything like places I had bought there. I had to put down $2000 in earnest money. Useless realtor said pay it. When the loan officer saw it, he said the seller and his realtor were being a jerk. I had tried to buy a condo in Boulder that cost more than this house and I put $1000 in earnest money. Then the inspection said it needed a new furnace. Seller said no so that was the end of that deal.

So what y’all got going on for the weekend? Tomorrow and Sunday will be the usual round of cleaning but I am planning to go to Home Goods at some point. I haven't shopped there in 3-4 years and really want some new holiday decor even if I don't need it. Exciting, huh?

I live about 5 blocks from Highway 20. I only hear the highway if I have the windows open or if there are a lot of sirens. I can't see it from my house.
It doesn't carry anything kind of traffic like the interestate does or city highways.
So the next exit over has a new apartment complex that they have been slowly building. Of course, they built the good locations, farthest from the highway first. Now they are almost done with the ones that have the backside facing the highway. Nothing like sitting on your deck or patio and watching the traffic on the highway.
I predict in the winter there will be an accident and a pickup or some other large vehicle will fly off the icy road and into someone's apartment.

My exciting weekend will be: waiting for the Verizon guy, mowing the yard since the friggin' humidity finally broke, rearranging a garden area and watching the new neighbors next door move in. I was wondering if they were ever going to close. Got my answer. Current plan is to see how much of my backyard I can set on fire. Fire pit is going and last week I accidentally set the pile of wood next to it on fire. I want to see if it will happen again. I like fire. Plus I'm trying to clean up my backyard and the wood is a big part of it

But at least it sounds like most of it is stuff you want to do, instead of it all being things you really need to do. I had never been inside a Home Goods store until we moved here. Then I started going to the one closest to us, probably every week, for some months lol. We have built in shelves in our den, and Mister wanted them decorated. So I did a lot of shopping at Home Goods and Pier 1 for decorative items for the shelves and other things, even though I’d never really been a fan of buying stuff just because it was visually appealing, but served no real purpose, and didn’t know what I was doing trying to make the built in shelves look nice. One thing I like about Home Goods, is that every week I’d go, there would be new and different stuff from what I saw the prior week. So what I learned was that if I saw something I really liked, but wasn’t sure how it would fit with my decor, it was better to just buy it and risk having to return it if it didn’t work, because it might not be there the next time I went to the store, or ever again.

So what y’all got going on for the weekend? Farmer's Market in the morning. Mow the backyard. Start pulling stuff from the garden that is done, like the corn. I've also been going through stuff like my jewelry box. Found a baroque pearl necklace DH bought when we first married. The string broke and I lost a couple of pearls. It's really pretty, so I'm going to look into getting it restringed. Also getting back into genealogy stuff. I have found an old family cemetery - online - that I've been hunting for a long time. I reached out to the guy who found it and we are making plans with him to go see it together. Both of our GG grandmothers are buried there. I am super excited about it - I feel like such a nerd sometimes.

We're about 5 blocks from I-69 but only hear the traffic noise if outside in the winter when the trees have no leaves. We do, of course, hear the sirens of emergency vehicles using the freeway and the helicopters life-flighting to the major trauma center just off the freeway near us. But that's just urban life for us. It's funny what you get used to. It took me more than a minute to sort out and process the sounds after we moved here. Now I hear a chopper and decide if it's life flight (goes by fast) or a police chopper with spotlight and thermal camera hunting a bad guy in the neighborhood (hovers tight and stays) or local news channel filming a wreck on the freeway (circles high over the house for 30 minutes).

Because I’m old now, I don’t feel like a day has to be exciting to be a great day. A great day imo, is just being able to do whatever you want to do and even enjoy that day, even if that’s not much of anything and you are mostly just enjoying your home in whatever way works for you, instead of being out and about.

thanks, this was pretty much it. is soapy water with a bam enough, or do I need bleach? my pool is made of truck bed liner, but it is a snazzy shade of sea water blue. I'd hate to bleach that out if I don't need to. FWIW, the mouse was fully intact. it was tiny, so probably just a baby that hadn't yet learned to swim. it definitely wasn't there for a week, but I can't say whether it was there yesterday or not. Bleach. If you haven't used bleach, it's not clean IMO. IA Just a dab of bleach for sanitizing in this situation should do.

A couple years ago, my cousin was trying to burn some leaves in her backyard and managed to set the back of her house, her next door neighbor’s house, and the house behind her, on fire. So please be careful.

I like Fresh Market but overall, it is more expensive and unique than Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. (Have only been in one Fresh Market though). Crap now I want to go to there. (say in Tina Fey voice) Sometimes they have decent sales on things I love. That store can suck money out of my wallet faster than Wegmans if I'm not careful.
