We made it to the hotel. It's nice. We'll go to MOA tomorrow all day. Enjoy MOA. Clothing has no sales tax in MN if you see some back to school wardrobe pieces. Eta: When it comes to Minnesota sale tax, clothing has a blanket exemption, except for accessories, any type of fur clothing, sports apparel and equipment, and protective equipment and clothing. There is no price limit.

Sitting here thinking someone's dryer sheets stink. Just realized it's my dryer. Did you retrieve them from someone’s dog’s butt? I can’t remember who posted today or yesterday that their dog ate a dryer sheet.

I just love where we live! I sat out on the porch for awhile and watched the light fade from monochromatic grey to darkness and the solar driveway and stair lights winked on. The birds got quiet and the frogs and crickets started their night chorus. In the fading light, I saw a fox at the edge of the lawn near the stream. There are still some fireflies hanging around, but nowhere near what they were a month ago. Night all! Sweet dreams, restful sleep, and don’t let the bedbugs bite!

So, it’s a Friday evening, and I’m boring and work weekends. But what do y’all have planned for the weekend? Respectable stuff, or pure shenanigans, I’m here for it all. So what y’all got going on for the weekend? DH is working. One of his employees did not meet a deadline today, and what she did turn in was less than half the project. So he is going to cram the project completion himself this weekend so that the client can have it on Monday. He is royally pissed. So my plan tomorrow is hit the farmers market early, head to a place that has stone that we want in the 4x8 space between the bottom of our porch stairs and the gravel drive (when the landscaper finally gets all the plants I want, he will level and set those stones), hit the grocery store and Fresh Market (no Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, or Sprouts here), check out Home Goods (never been to this store) for fall/halloween decor, hit up Kohls. Everything is 30 minutes to an hour away, so I will be gone most of the day. I am perfectly okay doing stuff by myself tomorrow. This sounds like fun.

Tomorrow and Sunday will be the usual round of cleaning but I am planning to go to Home Goods at some point. I haven't shopped there in 3-4 years and really want some new holiday decor even if I don't need it. Exciting, huh? Another Home Goods visit lol. Because I’m old now, I don’t feel like a day has to be exciting to be a great day. A great day imo, is just being able to do whatever you want to do and even enjoy that day, even if that’s not much of anything and you are mostly just enjoying your home in whatever way works for you, instead of being out and about. DH is super grumpy about having to do work someone else should have done, and it is not a pleasant grumpy, so heading out and about makes me happy tomorrow. I am at home mainly Sunday-Friday, so I am always glad for the weekend to have time to get out.

Saturday we have a kids birthday party for DH's youngest godson. Later we are going to dinner at his cousin's and doing some planning for our joint August vacation.
Maybe a quick run through Macy's to see if anything catches my eye. Since we are in the land of decent shopping due the weekend.
Sunday I have to pack and leave for a work trip. At least Southwest doesn't appear to be impacted by the IT outage.

I need to figure out dinner. I kinda want BBQ, but I don’t want to leave the house. I wish I lived close enough to town to DoorDash something. Same!

My exciting weekend will be: waiting for the Verizon guy, mowing the yard since the friggin' humidity finally broke, rearranging a garden area and watching the new neighbors next door move in. I was wondering if they were ever going to close. Got my answer. Current plan is to see how much of my backyard I can set on fire. Fire pit is going and last week I accidentally set the pile of wood next to it on fire. I want to see if it will happen again. I like fire. Plus I'm trying to clean up my backyard and the wood is a big part of it I am kind of confused, so I will just say I hope you keep a running water hose nearby. A couple years ago, my cousin was trying to burn some leaves in her backyard and managed to set the back of her house, her next door neighbor’s house, and the house behind her, on fire. So please be careful. Hose is right next to me. Ready and waiting if needed. Doesn't look like it is. I don't burn leaves. Too close to the house. I mulch them with the lawn mower. Too lazy to rake and bag them.

I like Home Goods, they have one close by in Olympia, but I don't need display pieces, I have plenty. I did buy some pretty towels there. Seems like T J Maxx and those are owned by the same company.
I'm leaving some small cabinets and such that are not in the best shape, I can replace some of them at that store. We had plastic containers too and I don't want more of those.
I hope the neighbors are nice up there and not nosey or pests. We aren't much on visiting and with being so close. Well guess we will find out. I am getting excited.
Some of hubs friends are saying you will miss your mowing. Hubs told me that is one thing he will not miss. Having to pick up all the limbs, keep the moles out and weedeating the ditch. He said to have a small yard wont make him mad at all. I know he means that.
We are watching again Man from Snowy River, its a pretty good show.

Let’s see, weekend plans. DH and I had a date night tonight so that was fun. Tomorrow I’m going to workout, then to target, and then a manicure. DH has some big plan about cooking a fancy dinner tomorrow - 50/50 that actually happens. Sunday I leave for a week long work event. My boss was supposed to go with me, but he’s currently sick and thinks it’s covid, so likely I’m on my own most of the week. Which, fine, but I don’t have any details on where things were shipped or set up times and whatnot. So, should be a blast

Enjoying an adult beverage.
Just returned from the church festival at my parents' church. The band was good just not the same as my favorite band which no longer exists. It was a beautiful night.
Hoping to do some yard work tomorrow. Grocery shopping on Sunday. Such an exciting life.

I live about 5 blocks from Highway 20. I only hear the highway if I have the windows open or if there are a lot of sirens. I can't see it from my house. It doesn't carry anything kind of traffic like the interestate does or city highways. So the next exit over has a new apartment complex that they have been slowly building. Of course, they built the good locations, farthest from the highway first. Now they are almost done with the ones that have the backside facing the highway. Nothing like sitting on your deck or patio and watching the traffic on the highway. I predict in the winter there will be an accident and a pickup or some other large vehicle will fly off the icy road and into someone's apartment. I live on one of the busiest streets in Montreal. At the intersection of two busiest streets, actually. I always have the windows open. I'm quite used to the noise, and I don't even hear the police cars, fire trucks and ambulances anymore.

Royally PO'd. I just received a message from United that they had rebooked my trip to Germany in December. Now I always pay extra so I have a non-stop flight. They rebooked me with a layover in Chicago - in December. Uuummmm, no that is not going to work. With the computer problems today, which hit United hard, there is no sense in jumping on line to get this fixed so I'll be pissed until at least Monday.
And the day started so nice too and now they come and spoil it. GRRRRRRRR!

My weekend plans include making a 2 hour drive tomorrow to test drive and hopefully buy a 2015 sienna xle with 100k miles for $19k. Broke all the ym rules and hired a used car broker to help me find it as I was having no luck on my own. Price seems right and is likely decent since it's outside metro area. Supposedly price is already haggled and settled and there are no upsells or financing discussions.
Bonus teen is making so much fun of me for buying basically the same van that's 4 yrs newer. When I said it's a different color she just laughed harder.
Current 2011 van with 170k miles is being handed down to dd15 to coincide with her bday later this month.

Rather than a direct flight from London to Seattle, we had a 7 hour layover in MSP. Our other choice was 11 hours in ATL. I hate it when I start receiving change notices. Funny thing, I received NONE from either Korean Air or Thai Airways. There is no way I’d choose a layover in Chicago in Dec.

DD2 came over today with her girls. She put my new hammock swing together for me.
Earlier I got it set up with a charging cable, etc, to make it comfy, on my balcony.
It was too hot to sit outside earlier, but now the sun has gone down enough, it's not shining directly on me. It's very comfy!
And I don't have any neighbors across from me, or that can see me, while I'm out here. So I'm enjoying sitting outside, this evening. 😊
I might come sit out here, in shorts during the day and try to get some color on my legs.
Now that I'm hooked up to wifi, I might even read out here. That would be nice.
Right now, the temperature is perfect. I love it! 💕

I got REALLY distracted after whatever my last post was, and I’ll have to go back to try to catch up tomorrow.
I don’t remember how many hours ago it was that Mr. T came over to chat with Mister, but he just left less than 20 minutes ago. Mrs. T ended up coming over to chat with me, and even though I enjoy chatting with her, I have to go to work tomorrow, and still had things I needed to do before I go to bed. They were separate conversations, she was chatting with me and Mr. T was still chatting with Mister. I have better social skills than Mister does, and even though I said earlier that I wasn’t going to rescue him (again) after I knew he probably needed it after about 30 minutes of conversation with Mr. T…. as the hours went on, I didn’t know how to gracefully get either one of us out of it.
I feel bad saying that, but it’s true. We both like the T’s, and I genuinely enjoy talking to Mrs. T, but tonight wasn’t a good night, and I have to go to work in the morning
However it happened, Mister started his car and I told Mrs. T that it seemed like Mister was ready to put his car in the garage, so we needed to call it a goodnight. Mr. T was still talking to Mister, but Mrs. T got the cue when I said something, and Mr. T followed her lead.
During all of that, there was another issue because I guess Kiddo was bothered because he was not the center of attention, so he called his Mom and told her he was hungry, even though Mister stopped and got him something to eat on their way home. So his Mom called Mister, and that was another problem. The guys working on our deck had been here and gone by then, but while they were here, when they were going back and forth to their truck, sometimes they would stop and be the rebound guy for Kiddo when he was playing with the BB goal in the driveway, and throw him the ball so he could shoot it again.. That was NOT part of their job, and it would’ve been fine with me if they’d ignored him when they had to go in the driveway to the truck. But I appreciated that they took a few minutes to be his rebound guy instead of just ignoring him, which they had every right to do, since they were here to work and not entertain a child.
But I guess even that extra attention from some strangers was not enough for Kiddo today. So he called his Mom and told her he was hungry, which pretty much guaranteed that she would call Mister and have a problem with him, which she did. Even though there was no way that Kiddo was actually hungry, since Mister stopped and bought Kiddo some fast food that Kiddo said he wanted, on their way home.
So my Friday evening went left in a few ways that I had not planned. I am still interested in what my peeps here have going on for the weekend, but imma have to catch up tomorrow. In the meantime, I wish peace and blessings for all of my invisible friends here. Goodnight.

So when I got up this morning, I saw a “Public Service Alert” in my notifications that came through in the middle of night. You can tell that it looks like a link. No way in hell was I opening that!

I bought a pair of knee-length leggings. Beautifully made, and won't fall apart after washing. A perfect fit! I took them home and see that they're Extra Large I'm 118 pounds. How can I be an Extra Large? Is a Small for someone who weighs 40 pounds? They are probably really way to big for you. They are supposed to be tight. You probably could easily wear a M, I usually size up one size too, so you could go back and try a Size L and see how they fit.

Had a great day hiking up and down the great wall. I wore regular tennis shoes and the hard brick surfaces on the pathway made the bottom of my feet sore as well as my son's. I recommend hiking shoes cushioning soles to absorb the impacts of climbing and descending on bricks. After the excellent Peking Duck late lunch early supper, we went to a traditional Chinese foot massage establishment for our sore feet that employs blind masseuses only so as to support the local less fortunate.
On another note regarding massages. I recall traveling from the US to Southern China for a work assignment. I arrived in Zhuhai (adjacent to Macau) after 18 hour of travel time and did not really sleep the night before leaving. Flight left at 1:30 am and I arrived in Zhuhai around 10 am after 1 layover. The factory owner met me at the airport then off to lunch we went then off to the factory until 6pm, then supper until around 9pm. At that point I was really tired but could not sleep due to jet lag. So I decided to go to a massage place next to the hotel I was staying at overlooking the South China sea. This massage parlor offered hot stones to be placed on your back while wearing paper style underwear. The staff at this massage parlor placed me in a private room with bathroom including a shower. I recall paying around 45RMB or 6USD. After taking a shower, I was put onto a table face down on a table with a large hole so that I could breathe and my back was massaged and oiled before hot stones were placed upon my back. I was so tired and relaxed that the next thing I remembered was waking up around 7am the next day on the same bed facing down minus the stones, no one bothered to wake me up. Next I got up, showered, put my clothes on and left the premises after the night guard opened the front door to let me out. As I exited the massage parlor, I faced the South China sea and said out loud " Good Morning Zhuhai". When the factory owner picked me up at 9am the same morning at the hotel I explained to him that I did not need to book a hotel room since I could save the company at least 40USD a day by frequenting all night massage parlors. The factory owner then told me that I was nuts and not to tell him of my adventures since he feels responsible for my welfare while in Zhuhai. When I returned to the US, I received a call from the US distributor of the product made in the Zhuhai factory to tell me that I was also nuts but he added that the factory owner and the distributor were entertained by my adventure. In being picked up at different hotels in Zhuhai the following several years, I always greeted the factory owner with " Good Morning Zhuhai" followed by laughter from both of us. Great times.

Good morning, good and able invisipeeps, arising from the ashes of the Blue Screen of Death or BSOD as we call it. Welcome to Saturday. I hope this day finds you prospering and cavorting as befits a find weekend in July. This is just a quick drive by post. I need to run down to the Cape and finish setting up our tent, ready for the first of a 2-day show. I hope it goes well. Yesterday's sunrise:
