Simon is horribly plugged up. The other day, I asked a pharmacy assistant for 5 glycerine suppositories. Today, I opened the bag to find sublingual nitroglycerine pills . I don't know what happened, especially in light of the fact that you need a prescription for nitro. I'm glad I didn't give the package to Simon, as he would try to shove nitro up his butt. One of these things is not like the other. He's a male, so he doesn't read directions. Weird.

There is at least one HUGE bird living in the trees near our house. We have seen a lot of big birds since we moved into our house, but this one is HUGE. We see it coasting on the currents, high in the sky, all the time for the last few weeks. I know it may not even be the same bird every time, but we only see one huge one at a time. Even when we see it coasting high in the sky, the wing span makes it obvious that it is very big. Last Monday or Tuesday afternoon I was sitting outside and on the phone with Mister, but that time it came down from high in the sky and must have landed somewhere on the undeveloped land behind our house (where there are no trees). It didn’t swoop down, like it was after something, but I couldn’t see it anymore to see what it was doing, because fences and tall brush obstructed my view. It didn’t fly back into the air while I was outside. But I told Mister, the big bird is coming down behind our house! And he knew what I was talking about lol. And that reminded him of a couple of days’ prior, when he’d stopped by his parents’ house. The next door neighbor, D came outside when Mister was leaving and they chatted for a minute. While they were chatting D told Mister that the neighbor on his other side, B (2 doors down from Mister’s parents’ house) had a little dog like my son’s dog. Mister remembered B and his little dog. Well, the week before, B had let his little dog out into his fenced in backyard, and when B went to let him back inside, he couldn’t find the dog. After searching and calling for the dog, between B and D’s cameras, they saw that a big bird had swooped the little dog up. I then reminded Mister that when we first moved into our house, I kept reading where different people in our neighborhood kept saying not to leave small dogs and cats outside alone because of the predators, including large birds. This bird we’ve been seeing lately, definitely looks big enough to make that warning real. DS brings his tiny dog with him when he comes over, I’m going to have to remind him about the warnings. He would be devastated if something happened to his little buddy. But what, keep a leash on him at all times when he goes outside, to try to be able to snatch him back One of the perils of having little dogs. They can't be left alone outside. I had a friend whose dog got carried away by a big bird too. I honestly never knew that was a thing until I moved here and started reading the warnings from people in the neighborhood. I also never saw really big birds until I started riding my bicycle on a paved trail that was like riding through the woods near a river. I’ve gotten use to seeing big birds around where I live now, but this one is still the biggest bird I’ve ever seen, anywhere. I have seen a few big birds flying high in the sky over the last 10 or 15 minutes, and even though it’s obvious that they are not even close to small, they are nowhere near as big as the one I am talking about. Let me tell it, this one is big enough to carry off a small goat. I am going to try to get a picture of it the next time I see it.

I saw our hawk pair today but they are only mid-sized so squirrels and song birds are their prey. Larger hawks can definitely pick up something tiny like a Chihuahua or smaller cats

I am making an educated guess that your huge bird is a vulture. Is it black?

I was thinking Mister's new car was going to be an EV. Is that not true? If it's an EV, wouldn't he want to keep it in the garage in order to charge it? No, it’s not an EV. Neither of us are interested in EV’s at the moment, or even hybrids. Especially not when it comes to sports cars, I am fond of old school muscle cars, even though I’ve never owned one, and so is he, to a lesser degree. We both like the sound of a powerful engine and the sound of one roaring to life, if it’s right and not just noise to make noise. If I win the lottery tomorrow, one of the first things I would buy, would be an old muscle car. I’d rather have that than a brand new luxury car lol. That might sound immature or even silly to someone that doesn’t get it, but that’s something he and I have in common and understand why the other likes it. The T’s vehicles were loud, Mr. T’s car more than Mrs. T’s Trackhawk. If we were outside and heard Mr. T’s car start, that was almost like music to our ears, instead of an annoyance. I understand that for many people, a vehicle is just a means to get from point A to point B. I’ve always been a car person, even though I have never been able to afford a car I REALLY wanted, and even with that, still had to tame that part of me even further, and did so enough that I still have my old Honda that I bought new in 2003. I am asking, please don’t flame me if you (general *you*) aren’t a car person and don’t “get” anything I’m saying in this post.

I don't understand why we just can't have normal rain. It always has to be severe thunderstorms or nothing.

You guys. Shannon Doherty died. She fought a good fight. Not just cancer but she stood up for herself in business, and was labeled a nasty word for a woman because of it. She was already my hero. Every re-watch of 90210 still confirms she was my fashion icon.

We do have bald eagles in the area. I was once driving on the new I-269 section in far east Shelby County. I saw ahead on the northbound side (my side) in the breakdown lane two turkey vultures picking over an animal carcass. Suddenly a bald eagle flew in, chased the vultures out of there and claimed the carcass as his own. Rarely will a hawk attack a small dog. Hawks cannot pick anything up greater than their own weight. But a great horned owl can, though incidents are rare. A bald eagle is able to snatch a small dog and carry it off for a short distance. The dog probably passes away hitting the ground after being dropped by the eagle.

He also has issues with diverticulitis and could not delay the surgery. After 2 urgent care visits and an ER visit to rule out blockage a nurse told him to use magnesium citrate. OTC and cleared him out. Suppositories and enemas did nothing for him.

Larger hawks can definitely pick up something tiny like a Chihuahua or smaller cats Idk enough about birds to tell the difference between a hawk or an eagle. But I am pretty sure that you are right and it is some kind of raptor. Several years ago, DD had a VW, I think it was a Passat. She and I were chatting on the phone one morning while she was driving on the expressway and while we were talking, a large bird swooped down in front of her car, like it intended to get some prey it had spotted. It happened so fast that DD figured she had run into the bird, but she didn’t see it in her rear view mirror, so she got off the expressway at the next exit. There was a stoplight right after the exit and while she was waiting for the light to turn green, she said omg Momma, people are staring at me, this bird must really be on the front of my car. So she drove to a male friend’s house that lived nearby. When he came outside and saw the bird she was asking him to help get off her car, he told her he had to go back inside and drink a beer first, because WTF. It was like 9:00 in the morning lol. She sent me a picture, and the bird’s wings were still spread, almost the width of the car. It wasn’t bloody, the head was caught in the grill on her car, and it looked like the impact must have snapped its neck and killed it instantly. But I could see from the picture why people were staring after she got off the expressway because it really was a big ass bird stuck on the front of the car with its wings still spread. When her friend was trying to make sense of what he was seeing, that made him think he needed a beer before he could try to get the bird off her her car, he told her “you know these white folks don’t play about these big ass birds, right? They gon lock you up if they find out you killed this damn bird”. He sounded like he was serious lol. But even if what he said was true, she didn’t kill the bird, it kinda killed itself with an error in judgement. I was on the phone with her when it happened, and until she got off the phone with me after he said he needed a beer because WTF. She loves animals more than she likes most people, so she was really upset that that happened, even though it wasn’t her fault.

The first one was one flying and settling on a neighbor’s roof. The second was what looked like a baby since it was so small, that I didn’t see with my own eyes, but the day after one of our cameras recorded it standing in our driveway and then flying toward our roof. I’ve also seen a woodpecker IRL for the first time, since moving here. And colorful small birds that I’d never seen before IRL. I follow a page on FB that has cameras set up to record a pair of bald eagles where they nest. I didn’t realize until I started following that page that bald eagles are so big. This huge bird is always coasting high in the sky, except for that one time last week when I saw it come down behind our property. It’s never been close enough to get a good look at it. I think I would’ve been able to tell if it was a vulture though. It’s not. Our dogs weigh between 50 and 60lbs, I hope they are too heavy to get carried away. Especially when there are so many smaller critters around.

A nice day trip, especially in winter, is up to Reelfoot Lake in the northwest Tennessee counties of Lake and Obion. A number of years back, a friend and I drove up there to see the nesting bald eagles. The park has a tour bus which takes you around to the nesting bird sites. It's maybe about a 90 minute drive to Reelfoot lake?

Eagles and hawks primarily take live prey while vultures feast on carrion aka dead stuff. But eagles will also run vultures or other predators off a kill because it's a lot easier to mooch than hunt. When birds are after a kill they don't pay attention to anything else and they do indeed smack into cars, houses and anything else.

Our neighbor a couple of blocks over brought back the propane tank we loaned him and visited a spell. He and about 10 other folks near him are still without power and may be for several days. Closer to me another friend and about 50 of her neighbors are also powerless. Life is not kind to all equally.

Today was kind of semi productive. Ex came over and helped DS to do the electrical outlets outside so we don't have an extension cord running to the septic anymore. We didn't get any of the lights installed though because apparently it is more involved than originally thought and we need more electrical stuff. On another note things have been moving into the mounting blocks for the lights already through the holes cut for the wires to go through. First I noticed wasps going into one, so decided to plug them all. I was on the last one and plugged it and then heard something scraping around inside. Pulled the rag out that I'd plugged it with and a little bird flew out...I think a wren. She apparently has a nest in there, but no peeping of baby birds, so it's plugged up again maybe with eggs, but she really can't be in my electrical box.

My favorite vulture (if one can have a favorite vulture). I’m glad he didn’t take them. How did that mistake happen? and I find a glass of draft beer always works. or coffee and some bacon. 🤷♀️ He doesn't drink coffee, either. He's kinda weird.

Weird. DH was blocked up before his foot surgery. He also has issues with diverticulitis and could not delay the surgery. After 2 urgent care visits and an ER visit to rule out blockage a nurse told him to use magnesium citrate. OTC and cleared him out. Suppositories and enemas did nothing for him. I have a bottle of magnesium citrate waiting for him.

We had many turkey vultures up at the lake. I loved watching them ride the thermals in the sky. Soaring and gliding so effortlessly.

We had a lot of people in and out today picking stuff up. We convinced one couple to take some more things and they go to flea markets and sell. The old time themed restaurant in our town got the green and white 1920's or so old stove I had. It will blend right in with her decor. Also she will get the freezer when I can get it emptied. It's for her restaurant.
The one couple stayed forever. Hubs and I had not eaten anything and was way past lunch time for DD. I thought they were never going to leave though I enjoyed their company. It was 91 and I don't know what humidity, but damn hot. It's 82 out now at almost 11 and like an oven when you walk outside.
I finally got to the store after 3 or so and got hubs and DD lunch. I bought some barbecued chicken wings for me. Had to go the pharmacy and Walmart too, we have packed her bras and she needed one. I bought me one and I like it but think I need one size bigger.
Poor hubs was dragging, having to go out and help load some things, others brought help. We are thrilled to have more gone.
I finally got our bathroom mopped and his shower cleaned. It was awful, had not been done since before my last trip. I washed the mat with some blankets and then scrubbed the shower. Took down the shower curtain and its in the washer waiting for a load of towels. I washed all our linens this afternoon and hung the sheets out, they dried but the mattress pads were a bit damp so threw them in the dryer for a bit. Nothing like fresh line dried sheets.
I got energetic and mopped our bedroom, the kitchen, hallways and DD's bathroom, and the kitty room. It was absolutely gross in here. Those guys had come in to use the bathroom and get ice, so they were in the kitchen and all the way down the hallway to DD's bathroom and tracked dirt and mud all over. I used 4 buckets of water on the tiled areas. Tomorrow will get DD's bedroom and the living room, going to try and move things around so I can get most of it. I hate dirty floors.
I hope to start room by room and finish clearing things out, they will likely be donated. The basement needs for me to finish vacuuming and mopping. I saw they didn't get the treadmill out and the 2 exercycles, we wanted to take the treadmill, have to see how that goes.
I told hubs tonight, we need to give it a year in that house and if we find his cancer has gone into remission, I guess is how you say it and he feels like getting a house with a bigger yard and garage we can. If not this is likely where we need to be. I'm not sure either of us will be satisfied with it, but it will meet our needs. And its so nice we can easily resell it. My agent said there are hardly any places for sale in the retirement communities, I noticed that. But for now this will suffice and I think serve us well. Son agrees this place will be easy to sell if we decide to do so. And also we need to recoup some of our money and get it out of houses and back into the bank quick as we can to see where we are.
I think hubs made another $400 or so today.
We have a couple with a big truck and trailer who are retired and are willing to drive a load of stuff up for us if we pay their expenses. Hubs and I are talking about it and very much considering it. I don't want him wearing himself out. We are going to discuss it. First thing tomorrow, up very early and transferring the rest of the money to the other bank so we can wire transfer it, likely Tuesday morning.
And no I have not remembered what I did with those damn bonds. I thought I knew where I put them but apparently did not. I keep thinking it will pop back into my mind but sure has not yet. And yes, its worrying me. It's a fair sized packet and its one of the older zippered bank bags you used to get to put money in with the Bank Logo and such on the front. It's not something you can miss if you see it. I still think they are in the desk area somewhere, that is where they brought in all that stuff and mixed it up with things I had already sorted. I'm going to spend an evening going through all that and see if I can find them.
Still its a huge relief to have gotten rid of as much as we have. Like hubs said its stuff we won't even miss. And the few things we might need we can easily replace. But I agree with him, we need to think twice before we do so.
I have a little snuggle buddy on his back bracing his legs on mine dozing. He gets tummy rubs every so often. Smokey actually let the lady pet him today and did not scratch her or bite her. I was worried, he meowed and looked at her and followed all over but did ok.
I'm really tired, need to get a bath and get to bed.

Good morning, tiny dinosaur champions, car connoisseurs, and real estate mogul invisipeeps of Y Ma'am, readying for the next steps. Welcome to Monday, Monday, can't trust that day. I hope it goes well for you in all your endeavors. I hope you enjoy a good nap, a great repast, and have power that lasts and lasts. Yesterday I had lunch with some old friends from high school. We each brought something to the home of one of us in the town we grew up in. It was nice. I brought sour cream cornbread, gluten free due to the sensitivity of one of us. It's something I hadn't figured on being able to do when we moved here, to see friends of over 50 years ago. We each and all look hawt! Today could well entail a Costco run for us. And I hope to see the sun rise, which I could not yesterday due to persistent very early morning clouds. I did see an unexpected sunset, though:

Enjoying the next 6 weeks vacationing in Asia with the family. So nice to be away from the political madness going on in the USA. Time to enjoy peace and quiet and diverse cuisine.

If my RL is any indication, Simon spoke at length about mom's heart problems when he picked up the scrip. Yesterday I waited after online church to speak to someone, but the attendees scattered quickly. I had spoken to the church admin who works mostly virtual from her cellphone. I was very stressed, trying to find a ride for the in-person doctor appointment this week. Its possible all the admin heard when I was freaking out was the very end of my call ... knee surgery. My concern is I have damaged this knee badly enough that I might have to get knee surgery in the future. I don't know how bad it is. I just know its the most messed up its been during my entire 15 months of walking to and from bus stops. We are under the worst long stretch of heat indices since the 15-month adventure began. I probably should have led with I got the oddest email from possibly the current church president. It was something like we can't help you with your knee surgery appointment or some such. This church has had their email hacked thoroughly, and scammer(s) have been working it for more than a year looking for money through GC scams etc. Sorry, probably should edit or delete that. Will revisit late morning.

I hate shaving my legs, and then I remembered something I packed in the bag I used to take to the country. It's a depilatory mitten. You just gently rub it on your legs in a circular motion and the hair disappears. Followed by some lotion. my legs are as smooth and hairless as a baby's bottom. I'm going to use it all the time now. www.jeancoutu.com/en/shopping/product/natural-hair-remover-mitten/101727/I like just having a working electric razor. (Do not have one now) Decades ago Lady Braun was good. Now I guess I missed the Father's days sales, but Black Friday into Christmas would be the next time for me to pick one up at a good price. I prefer something quick. How painful is that? Do you have fine light baby hair or coarser and darker than the average woman?

I am making an educated guess that your huge bird is a vulture. Is it black? Turkey vultures that I've seen are big. I've only seen them with dead stuff, but they might be opportunistic feeders. They are more brown than black.
