Mom was apparently awake earlier. I was asking the nurse about her waking up and he said she already was.
I got a bit testy with dad for a moment but cooled off. He's exhausted and he was afraid it was that last burst of energy moment and didn't want Bob and I getting hopeful.
Nurse said it was definitely awake. She tried to get up. They had to sedate her again so she wouldn't try to pull stuff out.
So that's good news. Will likely not be today but mom may wake up soon.

It was Barbara's idiot boyfriend who drove me to see her yesterday. Barb's daughter set up my ride. It's really far away, but THE place to be if you have Traumatic Brain Injury. If anything, I loathe him even more now.
"There's nothing wrong with her! She's fine! There's nothing wrong with her! She's not confused! I'm taking her home!'
"Well, I'm really glad a forklift operator knows more than all the docotors"
"I do know more than her doctors! I've known her for 4 years and there's nothing wrong with her mind!"
'Ive known her for over 30 years and she's NOT fine! She doesn't even know where she is and why!"
What a fucking ass.

Yes, I think the house is too close too, but what a beauty and the floors are heated and look at the garage. Then the view is awesome. Hubs says oh I don't need a big garage and stuff. Yes, he does. But the good news is the prices are coming down, so there is that. But if we do anything it would be next year. Oh my, just got a call, another very old relative passed away last night. Hubs family is one of those where the hubs lost a wife and married a SIL. His grandmother and the other guy's grandmother were sisters or something like that. I can't figure it out, but they are related. So, we have another funeral to go to in a few days. They day they come in 3's. But this old gentleman was fortunate, he had only been in the nursing home a couple of weeks and had hospice and died at home after 3 days. Dang it! Again, I'm sorry. Take care of you. ♡

Today is our last full day at my brother’s house before we head back home tomorrow. We won’t reach home until Sunday but still. We’ve had a great time!! There will be many tears when we leave. Today is also my birthday!!! I’m 43. First time I’ve spent it with my brother and his family, and it’s been a long time since with my brother. My DH and my brother are golfing while us ladies (me, SIL, our mom, my 2 DDs, and their 2 DDs) are killing time until we go roller skating. I believe we are having steaks tonight too! Yum!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! I hope you enjoy it! I'm glad you're with your family and things are going well. 😁🍰🍸🎁

He says "I know some people think I'm with this much older woman for her money. I have my own money!' Right. It's about more than her cash. He was destitute and living in a cramped basement apartment before he met her. This alcoholic is on his 10th job in 2 years, and is living in a beautiful, paid-off condo, and has access to a lakeside cottage with boats so he can do some fishing and relaxing. I can't say anything negative about him to her because she always got really mad.....so I don't.

I dropped into a Dollar Plus store yesterday and found some really nice underpants. 100% cotton and some lace around the legs so you don't get panty lines. Made in China, of couurse. Thing is, they're a size F. What the hell is a size F? Does the F stand for Fat?

Dad finally crashed. That's good. I took a walk to get circulation back in my legs I'm good to sit for awhile.
No changes. They weaned or lowered her off something I've lost track of names. She's holding steady.
Her color is better. Fingers crossed. Just got to make it through today then worry about tomorrow. We made it through yesterday and did well enough she woke up for a bit.

Every situation is different, NomoreDramaQ1015. I don't need to tell you that. But to offer you a bit of encouragement, both my brother and sister had massive heart attacks at an early age (40 for my brother, with other ones in his 50s and 60s during which he coded in the ER; early 50s for my sister, which was followed by a stroke). They were helicoptered to the larger hospital in the big city. They both made relatively full recoveries, a bit more easily fatigued, but living relatively normal and full lives. I wish the same for your mom.

My MIL nearly died IDK how many times in 14 years before it finally caught up.
Every situation is different but I'd like to think if she could cheat that many times my mom should get a chance too.

Happy Birthday Taz.
Drama - glad things are looking better and your Dad is sleeping.
I got a F'in notification from JCP that I had a balance due. I couldn't remember the last time I purchased something there. I logged in.
In March I purchased $86.59 in hair products. I also had a credit of $27 (refund of late fees)so balance was $59.59. I paid $80 in May, and was billed more late fees, so now I just paid another $27 and told them to close the account. The only other store cards I have are Kohls and Victoria's Secret. I should close VS too, I have not used it in ages. They used to give good coupons to CC holders. I feel like they changed their CC program and I have not been getting coupons. Idk. I don't miss my Visa bills b/c 1) I have a default pay set up, but I also have the Visa where our other accounts are, so I see the balance due when I log in to check on our accounts. Kohl's has an auto pay set, so I don't have to worry about that one either.

I bounced back, and wish the same for Drama's mom.

So, we did quite a few madlibs in the car. One of my favorites is from a madlib on how to get a good night's sleep. There are 5 suggestions...and this is one of them "Exercise steadily at least 15 tvs a day. Doctors and red therapists suggest a combination of push ups and poop-ups, jumping toilets, and of course, deep butt bends." Traveling with a 4 year old is indeed, delightful.

So do we have to strengthen our YMAM bail out fund or do we have enough in the pot from prior occasions? Killing the ass is fine but a weekend in the slammer is not. We have Sushi to think ofc snd (I forgot his name) Welrz' fish as well.

I'm happy to report that I've been keeping that spending limited to sales and not just all the damn time. They probably wonder where I went. I've been going months without ordering. I saw where Ulta was in financial trouble. You may be to blame I'm the one who put them back in the black! Did this just happen? If so it is my fault.

Back from ou4 dog sitter’s. TD offered to fix her gate and he finally got out there this morning with his tools. He also fixed her garage door for her.
I messaged my sister that dog sitter is going to be unavailable 12/19-30. We leave 12/19 for our cruise. The response I got back from my sister was ‘I am fairly confident I’ll be out there by then’. My response was ‘Fairly confident does not inspire confidence’. We are sooo f#$&ed if she bails on us.
On a better note, stopped at a farm stand and picked up fresh picked berries, then had my weekly allotment of fat a Five Guys. Harriet was with us, we ate outside and she got the rest of 2 burgers and a bunch of fries. Of course, she’ll want dinner at 6, on time.

I'm so tired. No major changes but they were talking about urine output being very good.
So I'll take that because I do know if the kidneys are going that's pretty much it.
We decided to proceed with Gwen's birthday. I'll come by here with her afterwards.
Poor Gwen lost it yesterday. I told DH don't shame her. She lost other grandma three months ago and faces losing another.
She watched her grandpa one of the strongest men.she knows totally lose it followed by her mother breaking down. As of last night she thought she'd said goodbye.
Her birthday is something she can fully grasp and feels like she has some control over.
Let her cry. I know she understands deep down but she's mad at the universe. Let he be.

It's healthy as long as she's not doing anything truly destructive.

DD and I did well at the doc, I had lost 5 more pounds, DD 3 or so but we are both fine. All our stats were great. We got more kudos for weight loss, they said between us we have lost 106 pounds!! DD 62 and me 44. So they want me to cut my Ozempic back to .25 mg from .50, and then will go to none. I told them I'm panicked that I will gain back the weight. They said if I start gaining they will put me back on it again. I am going to try to keep my eating like it is, but they also said the ozempic does flush the sugar out in the urine, so I can see why you would regain.
But other good news, they have been denied 3 times on the Nexlizet, I explained about my cardiologist, so they are going to withdraw their requests and let him try. They agreed he might be able to get it approved. I told them I quit asking for samples, just didn't feel it was right to keep doing it. They assured me it was not a problem at all, she said they get new samples every couple of weeks and have plenty, just keep asking and they gave me a months worth. It keeps my cholesterol perfect with no side effects. My glucose score was 4 and DD's 4.7, all our stats last night looked so very good. They are testing she and I again to see if any changes. They also highly approve of my steel cut oat regime. I said only issue is I get tired of them but will eat them anyway.
Last visit with neurologist, we also talked about my duloxetine and he said if I can drop a does without symptoms, I can cut back. My docs are very happy with me I don't ask for more and more but try to scale back if I can. So, I have been eliminating the night dose and sleeping better, and so far, the neuropathy symptoms have not come back in the front of my legs, we will see how it goes. I don't want to have to take any more meds than I have to. I had read that the symptoms might clear after getting off the statins, took me almost 2 years. If I can cut the ozempic, that is sure going to save some bucks. The other drugs aren't all that expensive.
So it was a great day for us.
DD wanted to go to Olive Garden and she bought lunch. Then to Five Below and we both got a few things. Then she to Merle Norman to get moisturizer for her face. I stopped at TJ Maxx and bought her 2 cute dresses, first time she has had any in years, she looks cute. Then I went to JC Pennys and they had Levi's for little guy for $29 instead of $48, they have adjustable waist bands inside, he now has 3 pairs. I got him new shoes, other shirts and pants, socks, and jammies. He has plenty of shorts, shirts, underwear. Socks are an issue all the time, the dang things shrink, son said they fight that all the time too.

today's brought a huge change of plans for the next week. I was 90% sure I was heading up to an outdoor event later tonight, but I just bailed on that. it would have been at a cultural center, with my friend's cover band playing and a bunch of food trucks. but, pup care for the weekend got more complicated with my having to drive down tomorrow am (beating traffic) so I didn't want to be out way late. as M and I were talking about that and that I was bringing them back Tuesday night so I could head in to the office for that stupid harbor cruise, she offered to keep them straight through til she comes up next Saturday to pick me up on the way to a dog-friendly party in RI. so I'm going to be pup-free from tomorrow morning til we come home from the party next Saturday. that's going to be weird. maybe I can create some new (better, healthier) habits next week without anyone else to worry about.

I'm not ever getting a puppy again. It's so much work! All dogs are but puppies are nuts! I must be blocking it out. I had two puppies as an adult and don't remember it being that bad, but my last dog was so perfect in every way she was probably a perfect puppy too. I was trying to remember what I did for housebreaking her since I still worked then but for the life of me I can't remember. She was probably only a year or so old when ODS was born and I quit working, but we would have gone through all the bad stuff by then. I managed to teach my Bullmastiff not to use it in the house when she was a puppy and I was working FT. I bought a crate that would be big enough for her as an adult dog, but had a divider to limit her space as a puppy, so she had enough room to be comfortable, but not enough room to poop and get away from it. And when I was at home, if I was doing something where I couldn’t keep a close eye on her (like taking a shower) she went in her crate until I was done and could keep a close eye on her. That was the dog I put the most work into training as a puppy. I only weighed 120lbs myself when I got her, and I knew she would end up weighing close to what I did, if not more, as an adult, so I knew it was imperative that she be well trained, because I would not be able to control her through brute strength once she was bigger. It was a lot of work, I worked with her every morning before I went to work (I worked evenings at the time), and again every night when I got home from work. But it was worth it to me in the end, because I had a big, muscular dog that did what me and my children told her to, even though she weighed only 10lbs less than I did, and more than my children for several years while they were growing up. But they could walk her on a leash without her dragging them, and obeyed their commands just like she obeyed mine. The standard poodle had already been trained with the basics when I got him when he was 10 months old, so I didn’t have to start from scratch with him. I still don’t mind puppies. With my children, and even now with Mister, the hardest thing about training a puppy imo, is often “training” the other members of the household to be consistent too. We don’t know how old Newbie was when we got her, but we think she was still very young, probably less than a year old. I took charge of training her and made it clear to Mister that he HAD to be consistent too, because I was not living with TWO unruly dogs. OG was house trained, but VERY unruly in other ways, even with Mister, but she did get better with him after he started using some of the things with her, that he learned from watching me train Newbie. I still say I want another Bullmastiff one day. Mister has said recently that if we’re going to get another dog, we need to do it while Newbie is still young. When we got Newbie, he expressed concern that he’s always heard getting a young dog pushes the older dog out of the way, meaning the older dog dies soon after. I’d never heard that, but I can’t argue with him about it now, since OG died less than a year after we got Newbie. So I understand him saying if we’re going to get another dog, it needs to be soon, while Newbie is still young. When I had both the standard poodle and the Bullmastiff, the Bullmastiff was several months older than the Poodle, but the Poodle immediately became the dominant dog even though I had the Bullmastiff first. They became best buddies. I called them my dynamic duo. As scary as I am, I felt like even if I left my house wide open, my children and I were still safe because of my dogs. The Bullmastiff was really laid back, but if the Poodle got crunk, the Bullmastiff was right there to back him up. I STILL miss both of them.
