So the more that I think about it, Cernech is a no. I'm on the fence about Tullis. The other houses I bid on I was 100% absolutely yes on. Maybe I should just wait and continue to look.

andi9899 aren't you in a rental right now? If so, is it possible to pay month to month until you find a house you are happy with? If you can, that will hopefully avoid you feeling pushed to make a decision on something that you might regret.

I did some back of the napkin math. And opening of IRA statements. (Not in that order.) (I'm really tired).
Including the worth of my pension if I separate, we're getting close to 7 figures just in our retirement accounts. NW is higher than I thought, with how much housing has gone up. We might be at 7 figures just in retirement accounts. I only opened our IRA statements. I haven't seen one from DH's account in years.
I think total NW is going to hold, and if we need to go into our roths to release a little stress, we can.
Or, if we make it through OK the next few years. I could actually retire at 57/58.

I reached out to a person at a facility on a personal note last night. After a few minutes she brought up an audit being done there next week and how management is informing them that they can "just make sh*t up because the auditors do not know how any f*cking thing works". UGH. I know the auditors who will be there and can assure you that they most definitely know what they are doing. I still think that I may need to have a discussion with my manager. Well, this just took a turn. I have not yet spoken to my manager, but one of the auditors just reached out to me about another facility about concerns that he has with their reporting and asked me to take a look for any gaps before we all meet late Wednesday. This is the same auditor who will be at the local to me facility next week and I fully expect him to ask me to attend.

Here's my wisdom for the day.
Never ask how much worse it can get. Because you think...not, it can't get worse. And then it does.

More people getting power back today but it's very spotty. Our guest got hers back this morning so she went home but not before we played with the dog and let him chase a squirrel and cat or two in our backyard. He played the total fool for DH laying on his back for a tummy rub which he got His DNA test shows 50% Cocker spaniel, 20% Brussels Griffon, 8% Affenpinscher, and miscellaneous other spaniel types. We're still running on generator and hoping for restoration soon maybe

I am now listening to my toilet cycle continuously because our new head of maintenance dos not realize he isn't centered in the here and now. So yesterday he and his smarter helper got my toilet to go from 10 minutes to refill to 20 minutes. And now its basically at zero, i.e. always refilling because it appears he loosened the ring on the bottom that the flapper goes into and made the problem worse. I want to report the issue. But I don't want him in here again until he realizes working in these current CNJ conditions makes you dumb and dehydrated. Earlier in the morning I started going down to the recycle bins to it. His smarter helper walked up to me and basically said I'll do it since I am walking so slow. So he dumped it in one of the big recycling bins for the complex ... and pulled out a metal grate for over our stove burners. Not sure if they even make them anymore. I think the recently renovated apartments have better stoves, dishwashers that aren't Kenmores from the 70s, etc. x 1 gazillion If this drains completely, and I do not catch it, it will overflow and I can have 2 to 3 inches of water in the bathroom in about 20 minutes. I am mad at myself doe letting him in. He is the maintenance super for the complex, however I think he was intending performance art not fixing it. I should have gone in there. So he took the top of the toilet off which has crap on it, sat on the bathtub and was in and out in under 10 minutes. There should have been at the very least the failing flapper in my garbage and the new one installed. Instead, it appears he loosened the ring below the flapper and maybe something else. No garbage from the fix, nothing. Its brutal out there. The helper does not have a separate # either, otherwise I would call him.

How am I supposed to sleep with the constant sound of the 23094rq304tydfsfh toilet running! I hate people. I hate myself for not locking the door and saying its not a good time. I did not enter a ticket for the toilet again nor other stuff. He just showed up. Probably to pretend to rescue a damsel in distress. Instead just caused this damsel more f&^%&^ issues.

Pulled the loose plastic piece out, and it might be OKish for a bit. Not a plastic ring that belongs in a toilet from what little plumbing I do know. Send alcohol and bodyguards!

Mold really messes with my health especially sinuses. Have you tried using bleach or vinegar on some of it, to at least make it safer for you in the short term?

But, most states don't allow you to keep them as pets without a permit. They don't live long either. Maybe 2 or 3 years even if in captivity. This lady runs a rescue and always has Facebook videos of her taking her possums to get a pup cup from Starbucks.
My mom has several that she takes care of in the wild. They have heated cat houses on her porch for the winter and she feeds them cat food year round.

Hmmm. I am not convinced that the cleaning that happened was worth $150. Seems like more effort into “organizing” things (which I mostly don’t much like bc then I have to figure out where she put them and move them back). Multiple surfaces with visible dust/stuff on them. DH would probably be more comfortable with a commercial service too.
But for the moment, good enough and done for another month.

Today is the dreaded "Gus trimming day". Last time he was a total dick head. If he keeps that up we could lose the one guy keeping him upright.

LOL. We caught 2 birds trying to make a nest in one of my hanging plants yesterday. The threw a bunch of the dirt out and had half a nest built. DH dug it out and put a mouse trap in it. There is now a very unhappy bird in front of my bay window squawking at me. My robins are back. They were confused that the lights were gone and they couldn't build on top of them anymore, but they found a new spot under the deck. They still get wet between the slats when it rains so I'm thinking of setting a table or something over them. F*@*# sparrows, but I'll let the robins be.
Robin eggs are beautiful!

I would love foxes, but that's a rescue too. A woman and her man had this big rescue. All sorts of critters, but many were foxes with missing limbs or similar issues.

We are also in a heat advisory - feel like temps of 114 expected today. Humidity is currently at 80%. We are also under a heat advisory. Real temp is expected to be 104° today. Then 105°+ through the end of the week. I'm SO glad we don't have high humidity!

If it was cloudy it would be less bad. It is slightly windy, but real feels won't fall under 100 until after 7PM. Last summer was more moderate here.

They can drug them, but that often makes it worse. As the farrier says, "most minis are dick heads". They have little man syndrome.

I took Macy out yesterday and when I came back in Jackson had gotten into the trash. The neighbor was outside smoking and heard me yelling "you dick! Stay out of the trash!" Oops!

my neighbors routinely hear me telling LD "don't be a dick!" when he's growling at whoever is walking by.
