DH bagged up about half the backyard tree debris and I raked the front yard stuff into piles so tomorrow we can finish the bagging process and sneak them into the trash bin one or two per week. It's 89 with 101 heat index so that's all for today

Need to get DD new nursing shoes. Hers are too narrow, it turns out, and her toes are numb. She fell down a couple of times, a big problem at work. As long as it stops, I told her, it will be okay.

I'm going to see the Tullis house after work. I think I'm going to like that one better. The realtor told me I can make an offer on both and see which one we come to a better agreement on. We'll see what the other one looks like and the area it's in.

In an ironic twist, PP’s Airtag fell off and we can’t find it. We all have iphone SEs that don’t have the spiffy specific location tracking ability, and the “play sound” feature keeps complaining it’s out of range even when the app shows “with you”. near as I can tell it’s in the front yard somewhere but the metal detector isn’t picking it up. Starting to think a bird carried it off to a nest. I have conceded defeat, or at least annoyance, and ordered a new one with different holder/ attachment

I have conceded defeat, or at least annoyance, and ordered a new one with different holder/ attachment DD2 finally put an air tag in DGD2's "lamby", she sleeps with. They've gone through 4-5 of them. I don't know how they keep getting lost and not found, or where they go. But it's traumatic. DD1 has made them. So the last one, she made with a pocket for an air tag to go in it. I was surprised how undetectable is is.

The classmate who has been keeping track of over 500 people for 55 years sent me the master copy of our class.
It irritated me because there is a ? mark beside my best friend who died in 1986 and I have told them numerous times of the exact date. She said she has a notebook with all of the obituaries she can find. Well, I went on newspapers.com and found her obituary and sent it to her. It better never show up again with a ?.
The classmate that died before we graduated is listed the same way. His fiance at the time does the same thing in the FB group for our class. There is a page devoted to him.
Just because we weren't the popular kids, we don't count?

My order of stamps is going around the Midwest to get to me. They were supposed to arrive yesterday. They were in Kansas City. Then they were supposed to arrive today. There are in St. Paul.
So USPS can't deliver packages purchased from USPS?

My cat is an idiot. 2 days in a row now, she had been missing for breakfast. Yesterday before I got up, I thought I heard some noise under the bed and didn't think of it. Then she didn't come plop on my foot in the bathroom then didn't show up for breakfast. Yes, you can see where this is going. I went to the bed and the nitwit got under the bed frame but couldn't get herself out. So far, she has done this not just once but twice! God help me but she is not the brightest bulb. On the plus side, got my new mattress today and now feel like i need a step-stool next to the bed to get on it. I have forgotten what it's like to have a normal bed and mattress.

We too have an ash tree that is slowly dying, and I don't even want to think what that'll cost to take down. It's over 20 years old, so it's a big one too. Stupid ash borers!

I have an appointment with ATT to come out because we have one of their old service lines hanging down to knee level. We think it's for the old landline but ??

Trying to figure out volunteer shifts that work for Carrot and I for the music fest. There are a ton of ticket booth ones that say at least one volunteer must be an adult, but all the times that work for us only have one opening in the booths (I think they started with 2). I'm just going to assume the prior volunteer was an adult and throw Carrot in with a stranger. Hopefully that's ok...

We had 10 removed 3 yrs ago and there’s at least one more in next year or two. We would let them just fall over but need to have the tall ones removed that would reach our roof Plus the ash trees in neighborhood are falling over and taking down the power lines. Last week a 6 hour outage. Most neighbors have generators now and that’s another expense But we love living on a lake with wooded area . Wouldn’t want to live in a development with one tree in front of each house

I needed ground black pepper for cooking. Use pepper grinder for table Well I bought what I thought was a $3.95 jar - it was $13.95! In check out. Should have just left it but I was at a self check out and attendant was busy. Today bought a smaller for $5.95 . Will return the big expensive jar
When did pepper get so expensive?

But buying it to grind is the way I prefer to go. You can store unground pepper in the freezer for years. And use as needed.

I just finished with a Teams meeting for my side gig. I have been dreading it for weeks lol. It’s a good thing I was not required to have my camera on.
It has been a rainy, gloomy day, and it has made me feel even lazier than normal today. I am also a bit sore from playing with the gym thing yesterday. My upper back and puny arms. I didn’t even try to do an actual workout, I just tried to learn to do a few upper body exercises correctly, so I don’t hurt myself. Good grief, what would I feel like if I’d actually tried to do sets?! I’m very glad I didn’t go that far.
I had planned to learn a few of the lower body exercises today. That got narrowed down to 2 this morning and I didn’t want to even do that, I had to force myself. And I only did a 3 or 4 each, because I’m not ready for my legs to be sore too.
I like using the machine more than when I was doing body weight workouts. But I didn’t like being sore back then, and I still don’t like it.

I made the executive decision that I'm not doing the to-do list I had for tonight, and I'm parked on the deck with the evening news streaming on my laptop. I'm gonna sit out here til the bugs are unbearable, whenever that is. it's been at least a week since I've been able to do that!

It is actually a little cool outside to me. The weather app says it’s 77°, but it’s cloudy in between all the rain, and it’s been windy all day. I’ll take the wind over the sweltering heat we’ve been having.

I won’t tell you what we paid to have a bunch of black walnut taken out this winter. The only upside is that my neighbor’s dad has a small sawmill. He is making 1” planks for future built-in, 2” planks for a dining table, and a raw cut as large as possible for a future mantle when we do our addition. He is not charging to cut the wood since we gave him two trees worth of 80’ poplar. He can also use any walnut scraps and any that don’t make decent boards. He makes things with wood.

I love heat, this has been something else. I'm leaving the windows open overnight, too. this whole week had "Hazy, Hot, Humid" on the 7-day weather forecast just now. I can hide in the house again tomorrow.
