Good morning, music aficianado invisipeeps, organizing and staying safe. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope your day proves enriching in the best ways, and that you avoid overwhelming heat. Whelming heat, okay, but not overwhelming. countrygirl2 , it's possible you are short on electrolytes and so crave salt, potassium, vitamin C and the like. Follow your tastes is my advice. My XH was a very controlling bully by the time we divorced. He was also a big collector including of music. We had 2 CD cabinets exactly alike, organized alphabetically by band. As our possessions needed to be split I told him he could have the M-Z cabinet. I'd take A-L. He was furious. He'd envisioned going through all of the hundreds, picking out what he wanted. I was unwilling to spend that time in his presence. I reasoned that all the good bands didn't start with the first or last half of the alphabet. I switched and kept the last half. And that is how I ended up with the complete Rolling Stones, Steve Winwood and ZZ Top, and he got the Beatles and Grateful Dead. I still have mine. Today is DD's first training day on the floor working with patients. She's ready, I think. Next step is for her to get her bearings on her income and buy a car. That will take a while, but it's all good. Yesterday we went to a gallery which had invited us to provide pictures for this month's show. I and DH each offered two and were interviewed briefly by the very local press. THe opening is this Friday. Today I definitely must go through our pictures, make sure each is tagged and wrapped properly for transport, and organize by theme or subject, ready for the next show. It was densely foggy yesterday and quite warm. The no-see-ums were biting so I didn't spend much time on the still beach. I did get some pictures of a scalloping boat leaving for deep water, a lonely lifeguard stand and this, a wild sweet pea growing near the dunes: The only album I regretted not taking when I got divorced was Josh White Live. It was Ex’s when we married so left with him. I found it at a flea market back around 1981. A vendor there had hundreds of old stuff. Needless to say I snatched it up. Paid $5.00 for it. And the flower is beautiful.

Sold my old mower that the transmission was going out on on Facebook for $400. Let's see if the guy actually shows up. He's coming from a couple hours away and said he'd be to my house by 5:30. I'm hoping a mower brings a better class of buyers than the PS5 and cell phones did. Did the guy show up?

Good morning assorted and sundry samples of humanity! Power is still out - restoration possible tomorrow or not. We all slept last night, some better than others. Only thing louder than our generator is the frogs who have gone into major courtship mode. Heat alert today. More yard cleanup and fence fixing will happen accompanied by much sweating. Life goes on and we are very fortunate

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap little netbook?
I'd rather have a netbook than a tablet.
Mostly it would be for posting here, downloading and using knitting/crochet patterns, have a recipe up while i cook, maybe playing you-tube in the background.
I don't want to cause a stir at the new job if I get it.

Last night I teetered between "I need some effing help" and "f*uck it, I don't need anybody to do sh*t for me", so I took my ass to bed without saying a word. DH could tell that I was in a mood and let me be, which was for the best. Not sure where I stand this morning.
I know there are things that he physically can do. But I legit worked 10 hours and did 3 loads of laundry, only to see the kitchen sink overflowed with dishes at 8PM. There were not a lot, just mostly large items like bowls and coffee cups. Things that were not there when I started working in the morning and none of them were used by me. I did not say anything, just started running dishwater. He saw this and said he would do them - I kept running the water until the dishes were covered. He then decided to bathe, so I just did the dishes.
This is one of my biggest peeves. HE put those dishes in there, HE saw the sink was full, but it did not cross his mind to was the dishes until he saw me start them?
Now I am just getting mad all over again.

My DATA wasnt working all night. I tried to call customer service, but they were closed. So I had to wait until this morning and call.
It's so frustrating, to not have service, when I just added service to my account, 2 days ago. I need to get a modem, or whatever, so I can connect to wifi and not worry about it.
But it's working again, now. I hope it continues to work!

I had stuff sorted by rooms and also in the garage was going through things and getting rid of boxes that had little in them.
I got up this morning and screw that shit. It rained so the guys couldn't work on the landscaping, so hubs decided for them to clear out the basement. NOw they have stuff stacked all over the garage, no order, no nothing. I am tired, I am aggravated. I was having them take to the lawn shed items likely the shipper can't take and we are going to move. That ended too. Hubs goes my priority is getting the stuff out of the basement. I understand that but I just needed today to go through it out there.
So where are they now? All out in his garages doing something and the basement is not clear.
I need to go down in the one room and pack and haven't even had time for breakfast yet. I did get the cats fed and DD, he forgot to even do that I guess.
OK, I'm just tired but that aggravated me a lot. Taking my vitamin B and my multi, getting my shoes on and getting busy.

Today is going well so far. A woman technician came out to fix our air conditioner, and it is running once again. After a long weekend with no air, it feels SO good!

I don't want to cause a stir at the new job if I get it. I have a little Lenovo Yoga that I like. It’s easy to haul around. I know that my friends like their Surface. I have a desktop, a laptop and a tablet. When I went on the world cruise, I hauled my Yoga with me as it was easier to do some things on it than my tablet. TBH, for patterns and cooking I prefer paper. I HATE having to reactivate the screen to be able to see it for a second.

I’d do this! Sources of contamination are always a mystery to solve.

For those that have had sinus infections, did your congestion clear up off and on during the day, or did it stay consistent? I can’t tell if I have allergies or a sinus infection. I have no sinus pain. It’s just a stuffy nose, but sometimes nothing comes out, with a runny nose off-and-on. Earlier today, it was clear when I was outside and moving around. Now I’m inside and it’s getting stuffy again.

I’m jealous of soupandstew generator! We’re without power due to the hurricane, but since we rent, no generator for us. However, we are fortunate that one of the hotels near us has power and so we’ve secured a room for tonight. I’m camped out in the lobby using their WiFi to work (and post here ). I feel a little bad for DH. I’m leaving tomorrow (assuming my flight doesn’t get canceled for some reason) to go see my parents who live in MI and have AC. He is staying here so hopefully he doesn’t swelter too long or too bad! We’re very fortunate to have all these options, and he can always stay another night in a hotel if need be.

I had opened a High Yield Savings account last fall at US Bank. They have now dropped my interest rate way down, saying that was an introductory rate. Wondering where some of you have parked $$ for something like a sinking fund for your house or emergency fund. We have just over $75,000 there now and could easily make it $100,000. Do you have to keep moving the $$ around or are the online banks better at continuing the higher rates? DH opened an Apple CC and could get a higher rate with Apple I think, I never got added to the account b/c I have to unlock my credit and I am not really sure how to do that. ETA, I will figure it out, just that I only have the code to unlock one of the credit bureaus. The other two, I had issues with when I originally locked my credit, and had issues communicating with them afterwards. I don't really need to unlock my credit for any reason, so I have not done it yet.

I went to see the Cernch house and I like it! The kitchen is smaller than I would like, but the rest is nice. It looked smaller because it's so cluttered, but they're going to have to take that crap with them. It has a nice gazebo outside for entertaining. I could also put folding tables in the garage for more space for parties. Plus it's right in the area I want to be in.

I'm pretty happy with AmEx in general, would def recommend this if you do end up moving yours.

I keep my cash in a Vanguard Money Market fund, which has been paying 5.3% for over a year; however, it is not FDIC insured. If you want FDIC insurance, Vanguard has a Cash Account that is FDIC insured but it only pays 4.6%. One thing to keep in mind with Vanguard is that it sometimes takes a few days to get your money transferred to your regular bank account when you want to spend it, so you have to plan in advance. investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/cash-investments#richtext-a772c87365

Once it is swapped, congestion gets a little better.
