In other Boy news, I let him go with me to put some water in the bird bath and water my tomatoes in the yard this evening, since I didn’t do it this morning. That meant I had to trust him to not run off or act a fool since that meant we were outside the fence.
He did great. He stayed by my side without me telling him to. Part of it was probably because he is fascinated with water coming out of the water hose, and loves trying to “catch it”. So I stopped ever so often to let him play with the water, which probably helped him not get distracted and run off somewhere. By “run off”, he doesn’t leave our property, it’s just that his recall isn’t always that great because he is stubborn. Well, he has run over to greet the T’s if they come home or outside and I don’t grab his collar first, but he hasn’t done that in a long time. Mostly because I haven’t given him the opportunity though, so I can’t really say that he’s learned not to do that. The T’s know he is just being friendly, but nobody wants to have to deal with their neighbor’s dog every time they are outside their home, even if it is friendly. They’ve never said anything, but that is a big deal to me, to not allow him to do it. Plus their twins are afraid of dogs, and I would hate for him to frighten them.

Okay I probably shouldn't bitch or ask because I know the answer but I'm going to anyhow.
So one of the things my manager said warranted me getting a four is that the person they decided would be my back up had to ask a question when I was on vacation.
She said I was expected to train them to do my job perfectly like I wasn't even gone.
Asking a question showed I failed.
WTF? It's not his regular job and like the rest of us he's running around doing 3 people's worth of work.
Of course he's going to ask a question!
Am I wrong to believe that is a bull shit reason to dock my performance? My work BFF was my back up for over a year and he still had questions because he didn't do it every day.
He has my cell though.
R doesn't have my cell but he was smart enough not to ask my manager. He asked someone else and my manager happened to walk in.
How is that an environment conductive to collaboration if you have to worry your coworkers are going to be thrown under a bus you ask a question?
I knowvI shouldn't care. I know I should let it go and get myself to a place where I am numb till I can get out.
But I'm struggling. I am working on building compartments in my head so I can be a good little peon who understands her place.
Not that I ever would but I'm understanding how people can end up snapping. Nobody should deal with this crap day in and day out.

I want brownies. What kind are you making? Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate. The one with walnuts is my fave box mix.

Making sure someone is fully trained is a supervisory duty. The person who should get docked is that person. Your boss just sucks. I got a new supervisor once. All of a sudden I was breaking all these rules I never knew existed (because they didn't) and weren't in the written protocols. So I started asking a lot of questions. I got my EE and it literally said I asked too many questions. So I responded with what I said above as being the reason I had questions lately. I got a new EE with that comment about me asking too many questions, and my rebuttal, magically gone.

Nobody should deal with this crap day in and day out. Ask if you needing to ask her questions mean she's failed as a manger. (Yes don't do that unless you like how her face will look before she fires you.) Worst manager I have ever had, wanted me to do all the work because I was FT. This was despite the desk had to be covered for at least 84 hours a week and I could only work 37.5 paid hours at the desk unless approved. You know the answer. Dumber the reason, the more it shows that you are being targeted simply because she feels you are a threat and/or she is blaming you for some of her performance failings. You are younger than me by quite a bit with a nice family and a husband. You have yet another toxic workplace. There are many. What's your exit plan if you can't wait her out or get her boss or boss's boss to see her lack of ability? Sometimes the ship is sinking and the best you can do is to hope to jump off before you get pulled under. MO.

so we started hearing some booms from a few ponds away, maybe an hour ago. this one is on me, I forgot that tonight is the last Saturday before the actual holiday, and it's usually when people around here go nutty with blowing shit up. after the booms start is way too late for any CBDs to land for LD, and all my windows are still open from the cooler weather the past couple of days. he hasn't been pacing and stressed, which is amazing. tomorrow morning I'll be closing the windows and putting the AC on through next weekend.

The park is only modulars we are moving into. Every house has to have a 2 car garage and apparently landscaping. All of it is quite beautiful. Many of the homes have an added room like ours. Our house will be 2000 SQ ft, some are even bigger, saw one that is 2800 SQ ft. There are only 51 homes in the subdivision. And I have only seen one sold in 2015. Apparently people really like it there. I hope we do. If you were not told they are modulars you would not know it.
I am exhausted but made $523 today, so did ok.
My hubs called at 8:30. He said our neighbor had called him to say I had people in the driveway waiting. I was awake but petting Smoke and hadn't even looked out. I threw on some clothes. The guy hadn't noticed the time in the add. So I went out and he started it by buying a lot of stuff, I priced it cheap to get rid of it.
Besides the sale in the afternoon when things slowed down I mowed, have the yard about 3/4 done.
Also in between I packed a few boxes that I finally got in today.
I have more but I'm so tired I'm going to bed. I don't know how many times I have been up and down steps today. And I had to help a guy get a shelving unit upstairs, we worked well together getting it up.
After we were done, I took a bath and DD and I went to town and grabbed dinner and ate it while coming home. I'm ready to hit the bed. Kitties are fed, just need to brush my teeth as I'm not going to make it much longer.
Night all.

The guy who did my BK in 2012 told me I should work for IT in Trenton way back when. I'd be OK working for the state. Its not that easy to get in but damn they really could use me. I'm still mad at Gov. Murphy from that debacle that was UE cutover test for the Feds on IF verify. I have never to my knowledge gotten exceeds expectations. Half of the people I have worked for think I should be able to read their minds or shore up their egos etc. In big Pharma turns out it would have been helpful to have a boss do battle hard because he wanted his own exceeds expectations reward.

BTW I just spoke to one of my college friends, also female and underemployed. We are smart women of a certain age which well shall we say being discarded overlooked and fighting tool and nail for whatever progress you got is the norm. We are also the tail end of the Boomers who are the poorest micro demographic over decades. Remains to be seen whether any and enough of the Millenials can have it bad enough to "win" that award that no one wants. So in the quick update cause I missed calling her in our shared birthday month, I learned both her and her DH were cutoff from Medicaid and like CG2 are currently not in Indiana. They are in Colorado because a friend gave her a FT job. I also learned her DH, my buddy from college as well, had a stroke that took out his left side. Oh and her Dad died about the same time as mine ... and the adopted son is in prison. So I am reeling. The prison bit is TB discussed at a later time. So their finances are more in the toliet than I knew. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/melancholy.png) I got those last bits after admitting I might have to give up and move to the cheap midwest in the next few years. Said it was too bad I couldn't move in with them or at least nearby. She was OK with that except she's got her first FT job in years temporarily in CO. Maybe they'll be back in the MIdwest maybe they'll be in CO. FYI, please do not quote. Probably should trim this a bit. I was both happy to talk to them both and distressed at what's happening. DH is still following our alma mater's Men's BBall team. He and I share a love of Purdue bball and chocolate chip cookies. He tells me Florida got some 7'9" center and Purdue no longer has the tallest. Reading for another day I think. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/chocolate.gif) Is this day over yet?

I won’t quote the post, but even though I’m not willing to research it and provide links to confirm my thoughts, I tend to disagree that the Boomers are the poorest demographic. It seems to me that they are the generation that had the most opportunities to be successful and not poor.
I think my generation had the potential for a good start in life, IF our Boomer parents did this and that to help us have a good start, and I don’t mean just with financial resources.
I feel bad for my children’s generation, because the world has changed so much since the time between when they were born and when they became adults, so trying to do the same thing or better than what even I was able to do as a blue collar worker is even more difficult for them in general.
I won’t even get into Gen Z and what I perceive as their challenges.

It kind of depends the age of the boomers, to get an "average" of how they're doing. We got out of college right when the "Reagan recession" was going on. It was an awful time to be hunting for a job, and a lot of my classmates, including DH & I, had to "settle" for jobs just barely above minimum wage in order to have any job at all. (I often worked 2 jobs just to try & save for our first house.) A lot of my friends never really caught up. Those who managed to inherit money from their parents are doing better, as well as those who never worked for companies who filed for bankruptcy (DH & I had no luck at all for a number of years in picking stable companies, but eventually things got better).

I am toast. Between less the 2 hours sleep Monday night, a very emotional Wednesday, and two glasses of wine with too much pizza today, I keep falling asleep! I did get nearly 8 hours solid last night which is unusual, and very YAY! Congrats on the solid 8 hours of sleep last night and two glasses of wine. Your Monday night was my Tuesday night. Maybe I can do as well as you soon.

Its why I am somewhat I think attracted to the start of what they call the Millennial generation. Their experience echoes mine and many of my fellow engineering grads. Disagree away. My parents were Silent generation. I am not the Boomer some of the collective you like to treat me as. You really have no clue. I've done the research, I've lived it. When we were looking at houses over here, no central air was a deal breaker. l Well, to be fair we very rarely have temperatures here where I need more than a fan. Last year this A/C never came out of storage for longer than testing. It looks like this year may be different as the updated forecast for We takes us into triple digits. At least I have the ability to cool the place down and, VERY important, yesterday Haagen Das bars were on sale at Costco. Like the be-prepared girl I am I made sure to get a box of those. Have you tried their Oreo ice cream sandwiches? I think I could eat about ten in one sitting.

Those who managed to inherit money from their parents are doing better, as well as those who never worked for companies who filed for bankruptcy ( DH & I had no luck at all for a number of years in picking stable companies, but eventually things got better). Luck always played a role. When I graduated in the early 70s with a degree in analytical chemistry (I don't know what the US equivalent is) I found a job fairly quickly - I was just 1 of 4 out of a class of 100 to get a job in the first year due to the oil crisis. I just "cold called" six companies and took the first job I was offered. Strangely enough over the next seven or so months I received four more offers while my classmates were struggling to find anything. I guess at that time HR of these companies had taken a liking to not advertise for openings but just interviewed whoever knocked on their doors. In 2000 when I once again graduated with accounting/finance degrees the job market was so hot that I swear if you could fog up a mirror you at least got an interview. Once again I got lucky and got a job at 49yowhere I proved my worth before the tech bubble burst. I survived at least four periods during which multiple rounds of RIFs took place. That was due to being good at my job and very hard work. Still I got my chances purely due to luck. Work life has not been easy for early boomers either but some, like me, got lucky while others struggled. For the record: what I have is define not the result of an inheritance. I am one of seven from a blue collar family

Good morning, you (invisible) beautiful people of Y Ma'am. Welcome to Sunday. I hope your day includes its requisite sundae and rest and relaxation, too. You've earned it. Yesterday turned out very well. I won second prize in photography in the arts exhibit. Considering the stiff competition I'm delighted. The first place winner shows all over the country extraordinary work. Also made some sales, which is pretty great, too. Today I'll unpack the car, do R&R and dream of sundaes for Sunday. Here is the picture that won. I call it Morning Panorama. ODB calls it The Eye of God. ![Morning panorama](https://i.imgur.com/Q8x7Dbf.jpeg)

I woke up cranky yesterday and today. It has lasted all day today though, and is worse than yesterday. I am feeling some type of way toward Mister, and he hasn’t done anything in particular to provoke me, he’s been the same person he’s been lately. And that is probably why I’m feeling the way I am lol. I changed my mind about what I want to do Thursday, I’d almost rather go to work. That really says something. We have a joint counseling session Tuesday. If we had to do it today, I’d probably have a bad attitude and be uncooperative. That might still be the case by Tuesday, because I’m not really interested in trying to get myself into a different state of mind by then. Well, I am, for my own sake, but for trying to be all in and actively participate in trying to improve our relationship, nope. I am also aggravated because Boy keeps peeing on the deck. He is peeing in a contractor garbage bag they left out there, and 2 stacks of wood they cut. I hose it off when I see it. I’ve asked Mister to just move that stuff off the deck so Boy will stop peeing on the deck, it’s still out there. I refuse to move it myself, because I’m tired of just doing stuff myself because he won’t do it. So in my mind, it’s possible that we might end up with a deck that is problematic because it gets stained to soon, and also reeks of dog urine. I did tell him that the stain might get gummy if it’s done too soon, and get on the dogs’ paws and all of that. He worked late yesterday and when he got home, I showed him how the water that I’d sprayed to rinse the dog pee off the deck was still sitting beaded up on the boards and told him that’s probably what the stain is going to do too, instead of soaking into the wood like it should. The water (and the dog pee before I saw it!) did soak in here and there, but the majority of it did not. But even with that visual, as of today, when I asked, he is still planning to get it stained next week. I did not help, pay for it, so it’s his money and his investment, so if he can’t be bothered to move that stuff so Boy doesn’t keep peeing on the deck, and he is okay with the risks of spending all of that money to end up with a funky ass, mess of a deck, he can have at it. Just don’t say shit to me when everything goes wrong or expect to hear anything from me other than I TOLD YOU! Because I’m definitely gonna say that as I bitch about it and expect him to fix it again. I don’t like all of this complicated shit I’m having to navigate with our relationship and with trying to take care of this stupid house. I know that part of life is having to figure things out sometimes, but I am very much OVER every day and everything being complicated and challenging. I prefer simple and uncomplicated, as much as possible. My apologies for ranting. Vent away. I'm in an opposite mode. I'm in my Ima just take control and you can go along for the ride or not with DH. IDGAF who paid/pays for what I'm making the decisions. It also helps that he is not yet on his feet after surgery, so he doesn't have much of a choice anyway. We'll, that's not really true - his parents are eager to help him so he could just tell me to kick rocks. But now I think he is afraid I might actually do it, and I still might. I'm just going to continue doing what I want to do, not what I'm expected to do. It's working out pretty good so far. ETA - We married later in life and have yours, mine, and ours accounts - with transparency. I know more about his accounts than he does, lol. And so I'm about to hire an electrician to rewire our porch lights so that our security camera is on its own switch, which I've been asking for for 2 years. DH said he can do it, but it remains undone. Take a guess who is going to pay the electrician. Hint: Not me, and not a joint account.

finnime. All your pictures are wonderful but that one is spectacular. Congrats on sales and second prize. I can’t imagine what first prize was to beat out yours.

Hmmm. I didn't imagine you were a "boomer". I thought you were Gen X.

I love your picture, Cheesy FL-Vol. Fuchsia are beautiful and you captured their delicate grace perfectly.

Cheesy I was so stressed out yesterday that I was afraid to go to bed after I realized it was already 11PM. Stupid, so I did use up some important sleep helper whose scrip expired. (My fault for not calling in for the last approved refill in time. Missed it by a day! but that doctor retired in April so I was SOL.) I am probably going to have to use it all up by the end of this week, because July! (Always bad for me anyway) But enough on that, got to plan Sunday and Monday, as I actually get two days off in a row during a work week. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/banana.gif) Assembling this weeks work laundry load now.

I have a Master's because there were few options for me in 82/83, so I became a TA to help fund my Master's degree. You can PM me if you prefer. I see myself as Gen X fwiw if I can hide my actual dob. I have aced every GenX test in comparison to Boomer tests, but I stopped taking them around the turn of the century. A real Gen Xer I worked with had the opposite experience because of his relationship with his father and what he taught him. He's on my list to reach out to and see if he's 1) still alive and 2) still in NJ or even the NYC metro area.
