I want a collie (BIG Lassie fan when I was a kid), but I'd want a rough one and I'm not keen on the hair. Our lab already sheds like there's no tomorrow. DH isn't keen on pits, but the ones I've met have been nice and my SIL's boxer/pit mix was a sweetie.
I'm pretty gung-ho on going with a puppy from a reputable breeder, but I wouldn't be opposed to some type of mix if our humane society had a litter of puppies. But with the kids, I really like knowing the temperaments of the parents, the health tests that were done, the socialization of the litter, etc.

oh no! sending huge hugs and healing vibes. She's beating on her own but her blood pressure is still low. I called my brother to come up he hates hospitals but I can't carry dad and myself alone. DH is coming up soon. I'm shaking so bad I can barely hold the phone. So many hugs! I'm so sorry! 🫂

DH and I are on the hunt for a third dog, but we can't figure out what breed to get. We currently have an 11yo beagle and 3yo lab. We want a dog that is active and good with kids. I don't want another lab, and he doesn't want anymore boxers (we have had 3). We were thinking about a vizsla, but they are even needier than labs. Then we moved on to german shorthair pointers (too much energy), then rhodesian ridgebacks (too stubborn and big), then irish setters (he says they're too hard-headed), and now wirehaired pointer griffons. I want a medium-sized dog that I can pick up (our lab is 85 pounds, but the vet said he needs to lose 10!) in case of future mobility issues (I carried our boxer up and down stairs for several months before he died) or whatever else may happen. We just cannot come to an agreement! But maybe I should look into large dogs. We don't want another small one until our beagle passes away (I'm rooting for a cavalier king charles spaniel but DH says no). The kids and I really wanted a smooth coated collie. We've started thinking about a 2nd dog but will go for a mutt. If we didn't have the pet insurance and benefits through dh's job we would have spent thousands on devil dogs gi issues which makes another pure bred less appealing. For multiple reasons I'm team mutt these days too.

Harriet is a mixed breed, border terrier and something bigger. She’s about 45 lbs and so smart it’s scary.

I really want a young adult female beagle or beagle mix. We have many cats and one dog. My dog really needs a playmate! I'm keeping an eye out and know the right dog will cross our paths.

They didn't rush to do the other catheter. She's critical but more stable than she was at Mercy.
She's still out and incubated. They mentioned She's trying to breathe on her own.
Waiting on blood tests.
I need to remind her she is hell bent on out living grandma. Maybe she'll hop right up.
I'm off tomorrow too. Haven't decided if I'm staying all night or not. I'll follow dad's lead on that.

Brother is coming up in a bit. ask your brother to stop for some Gatorade, Smartwater, or even some watermelon on the way if he can. you guys aren't going to want anything for awhile, but you still need to "secure your own oxygen mask first" and keep yourselves okay. signed, the girl that grew up visiting Nana in the cardiac ward

I have two HANGRY cats this morning. In 10 minutes, one gets loaded in to her carrier. The other one gets fed. He will be a happy camper. She will not be a happy camper but will feel nothing until she comes out of the anesthesia. They have been all over me since 3:30 AM. I am ready for a nap. I do now know that if I die here, they will eat me. Amelia is home. She had a broken tooth with an the root open, so that is gone. She is supposed to "take it easy" for 2 days. Sure. Maddow is exhausted from worrying about his sister. No more stinky breath so I did take the right cat in first. The vet kept asking why I was bringing the younger cat. It was because of the stinky breath.

Spending a staycation day at Main Event. $19 pass before noon - all the bowling, billiards, and laser tag you want. Dd13 is trying to be a better bowler with dh. Dd9 is on her 8th consecutive game of laser tag.
Skipping the arcade portion. Apparently, it's common for games to be 7.5, 9.5, and 11.5 credits each. 140 credits for $25. Spendy!

We just cannot come to an agreement! But maybe I should look into large dogs. We don't want another small one until our beagle passes away (I'm rooting for a cavalier king charles spaniel but DH says no). how about a pittie? LD is about 65lbs, and a complete goofball with those in his world. he also has two speeds - nuts, and OFF. the breed used to be known as "nanny dogs" in centuries past as good with kids. I agree with this. Newbie is my first pittie type dog, and she LOVES children. I remember years ago, I took my dogs to a park, and a couple was there with their pittie and 4yo little girl. They tried to convince me that pitties were awesome dogs, but at that time I believed the hype about them and didn’t believe anything they were saying, even though I could see how gentle their dog was with their little girl. I am a believer now. I’ve had several dogs in my lifetime, pure breeds and mutts. I’ve had a chihuahua and a Cocker spaniel, but I prefer big dogs. I had a standard poodle that was an awesome protector and bodyguard for me and my children, but he had a bad attitude with other people, so I kept him away from other children. His bad attitude may have been in part because my neighbors use to mess with him through my chain ink fence when he was in my backyard. Besides Newbie (the pittie I have now), my best dog ever was my Bullmastiff. But that might be a bigger dog than you want. She weighed about 110lbs, and was actually kind of small for the breed. But she LOVED children too. One of my neighbors had a special needs child and he would come over sometimes and ask if my Bullmastiff could come outside, and I’d take her out to play with him. When I would take her out to parks and stuff, she was always happy to let children pet her. I learned to make her sit first though, because she’d get so happy and wiggly that she could and would knock a small child down accidentally. My daughter use to call herself trying to rescue dogs and find them good homes. A few years ago she had some kind of big terrier (I can find the exact breed, I just don’t recall right now) that a guy she knew had seen get thrown out of a car, and the dog tried to chase the car, but of course he couldn’t. So the guy brought the dog to DD. He was BIG, but a gentle giant. Apparently, they’d tried to make him a fighter (one of his ears had a small piece missing and his balls had been burned, and still had scabs, which apparently they do to try to make them mean ) but he really just wanted to run around and literally sniff flowers and play. True story. One night, DGD was laying on the sofa and had put a space heater on the sofa with her, unbeknownst to DD. And the heater fell over on top of the cover DGD had over her. The dog went to DD’s bedroom, barking something serious, like he meant business, a different bark that DD only ever heard that night. Scared the crap out of her because she was sure somebody must’ve broken into the house or was trying to. The dog took her to the living room where DGD was, and DD couldn’t see what was wrong until she noticed the red light on the sofa and turned the light on to see what it was, and saw the heater. By then, the dog had went and laid down in another room, like his job was done. I guess he made all the fuss to tell DD, “Come get your child before the house burns down!” The space heater went in the garbage and the dog got lots of love and treats. Unfortunately, DD found out the dog was very sick and she had to have him put to sleep.

My vehicles are acting up. I haven’t driven the Jeep in about a week because the oil pressure light randomly flashes. It chimes, the light comes on and goes right back off so fast that if I’m not looking right at the dashboard, I just hear the chime and don’t see the light flash. We haven’t gotten around to putting it in the shop because I don’t want to have to wait for Mister to get off work to bring home. Then today when I got home, the brake lights on my car wouldn’t go off. I guess they were on the whole way home, idk. The only reason I realized it was because I back into the garage and I could see them on the wall after I cut the car off. I know it’s the brake lights because the brake light on the spoiler was on too. I couldn’t get them to go off, so Mister had to tell me how to unhook my battery so it wouldn’t run down before he gets home and can try to see what’s wrong with it. I was tempted to just take it down the street to the dealer where I always go, but I’m sure it will be a lot cheaper if Mister can fix it. Especially since I don’t know what’s wrong with the Jeep and how much it will cost to fix it. If Mister can’t figure out my brake lights, I guess both vehicles will have to go somewhere. Sighhhhh. But then I get to drive his beloved Tahoe! I think he’d almost prefer I drive his baby, the Honda, over the Tahoe lol. I really prefer to drive my own vehicles though rather than be responsible for one of his. I do really like that Tahoe though, even though I’ve only used it once.

@pinkcshmere My Jeep does wonky things with the warning lights too. On mine there is a spot to the right of the steering column that I hit with my palm and it fixes it every time.

Pink Cashmere, at least your car is doing all the wonky things at once, so you don’t have to keep getting back to the garage for one quirk after another.

That sounds more like my car lol. I bought it new in 2003, and it has always been quirky. Among other things, random lights come on on the dashboard that may or may not mean there’s really a problem lol. The Jeep really went haywire last year, it would “start”, but acted a fool, the likes of which I’d never seen. The engine would be running, the windshield wipers and headlights would come on even though I didn’t turn them on and I couldn’t turn them off, and it wouldn’t shift into drive. $800, 2 weeks at a dealer and a new dashboard cluster later, it was fixed. Now this.

Google says it’s not a complicated or expensive fix for an amateur (Mister). I hope that’s true. I bought my car new 19 years ago, and even with her quirks, she’s been a great car. At this point, I don’t even get upset when something happens. Because even when she needs to go to the Doctor (a mechanic ), besides the time when somebody cut my battery cables too short, she has never had me stranded somewhere, which is very important to me…… not wanting to get stuck somewhere I don’t feel safe. And it wasn’t her fault the battery cables got cut too short. I got the battery cables replaced and that was problem solved. She’s a real trooper!

It's not good. I told DH to bring the kids.
OMFG. I can't do this. It's going to kill my dad. They were going to hit 40 years in two weeks.
I thought she had covid. I should have driven her here myself on Wednesday.
I don't know what to do about Gwen's birthday I feel like an ass canceling it. I feel like an ass not canceling it.
I'm losing my fucking mind
