Wow Andi that first one is super cute.
The second one looks nice too, but why the flat gravel area next to the patio? Just make sure it is not covering up a foundation/water issue.

Thank you for kind words! The vet told me today that they never expected her to live this long. Diagnosis and treatment started Aug 2022. Apparently prognosis is around 6 months. So we got about 1.5 years of bonus time! It was worth it!

I should be working but I am so unmotivated. Another hour and a half to go. Nothing is making sense in my brain right now. This is when I miss working in lab where it was possible to keep your hands busy without needing to think too hard sometimes.

Ooh, I like the one on 74th Terr! I don’t see anything odd.
I think the other one looks great too. The front elev of 74th has more character than the ranch in my opinion.
I don’t think you should rule out a property that is not fenced. It is something you can have installed before you move in.

Mich, I am also one that really likes periwinkle. Good luck with shoes. Maybe silver? I think that color is popular this year. Cheesy, I am sorry for your loss. DB, DS and I visited the Senior living place DB wants to put my mom at today. It is $5,450 for a private studio suite. The place my friend has their mom at is $5,450 for a one Bedroom unit with a kitchenette. I am going to nose around a bit to compare to other places, but DB wants mom at this place b/c proximity to his house. Sent a text to mom's neighbor for the name of the place her dad is at. It is also close to where mom lives now. Drama, I have a Santa like you describe. I loved it, but it no longer plays music, so I did not bring it out last year. My Bombas socks I bought in spring (4 pr) have all disappeared. I don't wear them that much, but I don't know what happened to them. I still had one pair around last week. I am hoping they are in the hamper, otherwise DD may have nabbed them. Ask about the level of care they provide. There was a place my grandma could afford but because of the level of care she needed they wouldn't take her. They also did not have memory care so we would have been stuck trying to move her the worse her dementia got and it's is fucking HARD to move them around once they are already in a home. A place that has increasing levels of care would be ideal because a resident is grandfathered in so they get automatic preference once a room opens up should they need more care. And that's pretty cheap I am impressed. Grandma was $8,280 for a private room. They hiked their rates and now she pays MORE than that to share a dual space with another resident. She has her own bedroom but they share a bathroom and common area. Medicaid pays about $5k and I have to pay the rest out of her SS.

Well, that is that. I absolutely did the right thing for our girl. She lost 1/2# since her weight check at the vet Friday. I held her and brushed her until the sedative took hold. I couldn't hold onto her for the last part, but at least she knew I was there and was making her comfortable. Now I am a blubbering wreck. I'm so sorry. I can't imagine.

It looks like someone's grandma's house, but it's pretty much what I'm going for. I have to be able to get old in the house that I buy. And I don't want to do a bunch of work on anything. I'm going to ask to see both this weekend.

I like the second one a lot. I'm not fond of upstairs rooms like the one in the first where they only have 8 foot ceilings down the middle, but otherwise, it's nice too (although the wallpaper in the kitchen I could do without).

I'd just rip-off the wallpaper in the kitchen after moving in. My first house had loud giant 70s style flower wallpaper in brown, yellow and orange on one wall. One day I couldn't take it anymore and I just took it off. [img src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png" class="smile" alt=" "]

I did not buy yarn, as I have no skill with that material. I did have a $15 off of $75 total purchase. Which is odd, because all I went in there for was thread and hanging wire. 😬😳🫣

The vet visit was a nightmare, 2 sedation shots each, oh he doesn't like to give them too much. Give me a break sedate the darn cats. They went bat sh** crazy. Took the vet with my welders gloves on, he had some but those were available. It took me the vet, and a tech to get them their shots. He said no need to exam their throats and teeth got many good looks at those.
I thanked him for his patience, he said no problem, this happens more than you think it would.
I did not get away unscathed, my right hand is pretty beat up, glad they had a supply of bandaids. I have 5 on that hand and blood on my shorts. I'm going to peroxide it good pretty soon.
He said what gets him is when people bring in pets and say oh that dog doesn't bite. and he said you can tell right away it is mean and it will bite. Or he said a cat that they say will be fine then it goes ballistic.
I told him their shots were late but I hated to have to bring them in. Now I"m wondering if I picked up my flea treatment. So we were there over 2 hours for a 20 minute visit. It was still less money then they had quoted me. I said you won't want us back, he said no problem at all, sure we will
At least it was $571 instead of $635 so a bit less.
Now I need to kill some of these blow flies buzzing around from the doors being open so much. And of course, both boys are sound asleep, not a care in the world. Jeez.

There is a sewing room with lots of fabric in 74th street Perfect for countrygirl! I like that both houses have nice trees.

Successfully navigating the modem thing gave me a boost of energy so I dusted one room and ran 3 loads of laundry. And continued yesterday's 1 hour+ text and email chat with a fellow director. We have reached a very constructive level of honesty at this point.
Tomorrow will be busy. The 50+ travel group from our former church is heading down south about 30 miles to a wonderful museum focused on the history and current presence of Black cowboys. Then we'll lunch at a nearby cafe. Tomorrow night is our monthly community meeting with multiple speakers on what to do during the summer months-door prizes include family memberships at local museums and passes to a nearby safari park.
Friday morning I'm meeting up with some fellow directors to fold 500 giveaway t-shirts for Sunday's annual fireworks festival.

Though admittedly I may be looking for too much since DSis1 is wheelchair bound and her home is fully adjusted to her needs. That may skew my perspective. I like the fact that there are fewer stairs in the second house. Not only does the first home have two steps to get inside (one is not too much of a problem with a wheelchair, two narrow steps are just about impossible) but the steps of that first house are starting (?) to detach from the walk way.

Well, the last dress I ordered wound up being the unanimous keeper. Only one of the 5 dresses received was an absolute no (it itched badly). The one I’m keeping is periwinkle blue, the second least expensive of the 5. I do have to give Nordstrom’s kudos. When I called to make arrangements to return 3, it was so easy. Everything is boxed up and labeled to get dropped off tomorrow. On to shoes next! Have I missed the links to the dresses? I am curious…okay, just nosy No, I didn't post any links. I will though. I wound up starting with Nordstrom's, only because I knew I'd be returning them and I wanted the process as easy as possible. They really did have the largest selection in my size. First Place: Comfortable, strangely enough. Looked really good, even without any sort of shaper underneath. Loved the color. www.nordstrom.com/s/adrianna-papell-beaded-floral-godet-gown-plus/7678229?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=400Second Place: Comfortable, and looked better on than on the hanger. This was also the least expensive. I really liked it on, the only thing I didn't like was that it was sleeveless, but I did bring back a cashmere pashmina from India that would have worked well with it. I hate my upper arms. www.nordstrom.com/s/gathered-waist-sleeveless-gown-plus/7869372?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=485Third Place: Comfortable, moved well. I liked it, but the navy background almost looked black. www.nordstrom.com/s/kiyonna-embroidered-elegance-floral-gown-plus-size/5404532?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=001Fourth Place: Fit, was comfortable. It was darker than I thought it'd be and I'd need to cut a good 8" off the bottom. Neck was a little tight and wouldn't allow me to wear the jewelry that I wanted to wear. www.nordstrom.com/s/mac-duggal-floral-embellished-gown/6961458?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=003Fifth Place: Itched like you wouldn't believe. As soon as it was zipped, I needed it off NOW. Would have looked great with my black pearls though. The color was more of a pale pink with a grey lace overlay. This was the most expensive of what I ordered. ttps://www.nordstrom.com/s/floral-embroidered-gown/7659881?utm_source=N_transactional&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ReturnIPrint&utm_channel=email_tran_ret_p&utm_term=755956&utm_content=20240625_proddescr1

If the assisted living facility is not attached to a memory care facility, you can be in big trouble if it becomes necessary to move them. We were just ready to pay for the assessment for dad to go to assisted living. That's the day the stroke happened. I already didn't think they would accept him because of the level of care he needed and we were told they would not take him after the stroke. He did get preference at the nursing home or he would not have gotten in there. Where my cousins are is not attached to a memory care facility. The one with dementia is NOT a wanderer. She stays in her room unless someone comes to help her. Her daughters have been told if she starts wandering, she will have to move. My aunt lived in a facility that only had memory care. The residents were in small cottages which made for the residents to know where they were. All the memory care places I know of move the resident to a nursing home when it is near the end.

Now I am sitting up in bed relaxing, I took some things from DD's room and she is getting upset. Sorry I told you it had to go, you have nowhere to put this stuff. And a lot more needs to come out.
So sitting in bed, guess who wobbled in and managed to get on the bed and is curled up beside me asleep. He tried to rub his head on me and failed, looks like a little drunk kitty. Maybe he is sorry for clawing me, but I doubt it.
We did get weights today, Smoke is 15 pounds and Tigger is right at 20, big kitties. Tigger is sprawled out on an area rug in the living room.
Strangely the vet said with all that activity their heartbeats weren't even elevated. He said probably just adrenalin. They were afraid, I held Smoke at first and he stuck his head in my arm he was shaking and trembling all over. Poor Baby. At least its another year before they have to go through this again. And he said they are very healthy, good looking teeth and all.

Where MIL was, they started out for a price for the first level of care, it was tiered and went up 2 more steps until; they had to go elsewhere. They were treated well their and seems like it was about $3k, It was quite reasonable and Medicaid and VA paid for it. Otherwise we would have had to have sold her house until that money was gone then would have had to chip in, that would have killed us.

If that is it, that is less than underwhelming. I thought the higher toilet seats were becoming standard? That second bathroom is also quite small and while it may or may not look like it has a roll-in shower, I think maneuvering a wheel chair in there would be quite difficult. Also, I don't see a grab bar. All that said it really is a nice house and I could see myself living there
