So because there is a chance of rain tomorrow, I went to Google and learned some things. Apparently treated lumber is “wet” and should dry out before staining it. I told Mister what I’d read and told him to not just take my word for it, but research it himself, since the original plan was to have the deck stained after all the work was completed. He very clearly preferred not to be tasked with doing the research and making the decision, and wanted me to do it. So I said, well come outside with me to talk to the guy doing the work. The guy seems to be use to clients that just want everything done asap, but admitted that it really IS best to let the wood dry before staining it. He said he can come stain it whenever we want him to, no problem. I was okay with being the nit picky person since Mister didn’t want to deal with it, THIS time. So I took a piece of lumber they had cut off and discarded and put some water in it to see whether it absorbed it or not, which from what I’ve read, can help you determine if the wood is dry enough to absorb stain products. The water rolled right off and did not absorb even a little bit. So now I am the crazy lady, trying to figure out when it’s okay to stain the new wood on the deck. I ended up saying let’s not stain it right now, even though we’ve already bought the stain. Any advice or suggestions WRT to doing it now or waiting, and how long to wait, would be very much appreciated. I’m not sure why trying to be wise about things like that seem to be more important to me than Mister, when I know he’d be very upset if we don’t time the staining correctly and it has to be done again much sooner rather than later, and cost some more money unnecessarily. OAN, he took off work today and we ended up going to a Ford dealer. He made an order for the Mustang he wants. I don’t really care about him buying it. He very rarely spends money on himself and what he wants, so even though it’s a lot of money, he can afford it and he is stuck on getting it, so whatever. I do have some concerns, but they have nothing to do with him buying something he really wants, or him being able to pay for the car. But after this, I do not want to hear SHIT else about a vehicle. I am a car person myself, but I have tamed that demon years ago. So we have 2 fuel efficient vehicles that aren’t problematic, a large SUV with good towing capacity, another 4WD vehicle that can get us almost anywhere we want to go regardless of the terrain, an old luxury vehicle, and he is now adding a sports car to all of that. I am DONE with vehicles now, until the time comes that I have to let my beloved Honda go and replace her. Whenever that happens…. and I don’t want to give her up until I absolutely have to, I don’t think that replacing her will be unreasonable, since I bought her new in 2003. I have always heard to wait a year before staining pressure treated lumber.

I cannot adequately express how much I am not looking forward to this meeting. As the messenger, I am hoping not to get shot…but frankly I couldn’t blame them if they did

So in news that I either need to get my ADD under better control and/or I might want to have my vision checked again I spent 10 minutes last night thinking a fuzzy white pillow was Wilbur on the couch before I remembered he was outside.
In my defense the pillow WAS in his spot on the couch.

The new modem installation went like a breeze! ATT does provide a really good video to watch and the app (and I hate apps with all my heart!) automated the whole connection process. The best part is the new modem thinks it is an identical twin of the old one and we didn't have to enter our password for every connected device. Hallelujah!
As a bonus DH and I managed to not get into a shouting match over stuff in the process.

Speaking of phones hanging up in anger with a cell phone just does not provide the same level of satisfaction as slamming down the receiver. This.

One more question. Thankfully, it's a pretty easy one to answer.
I don't know how someone can decide whether or not I'm capable of doing the job after quite literally 6 minutes of me talking.

Well, that is that.
I absolutely did the right thing for our girl. She lost 1/2# since her weight check at the vet Friday.
I held her and brushed her until the sedative took hold. I couldn't hold onto her for the last part, but at least she knew I was there and was making her comfortable.
Now I am a blubbering wreck.

Yes, under the circumstances you previously posted, you did do the right thing. Please try and remember that in the days ahead. Cannot tell you how sorry I am and do know what you are/will be going through as I've been there myself. It doesn't seem like it now, but the pain will get better and eventually smiles remembering your girl will replace your tears.

You got six minutes? Yup. 6 questions, one minute each is allocated to respond. I take it you've never done a one-way recorded interview. It does take less time, on my end. I have much less prep/research on the unit, as there is no interaction. I'm spending a lot of time, though, doing retakes. I've only done one other interview like this. I was not extended an invitation for a second round of interviews. ETA: I'm done.

Pink we had some deck boards replaced last year. The carpenter we hired advised us to let it cure for several weeks before we put sealer on it. We don't stain our deck, we just put Thompson's water seal on it. So that's what we did.

Amelia and I are going to the vet this morning for her annual wellness visit and one vaccine. My nose has healed enough that I can wear my mask in the tiny exam room, so that makes me feel better about taking her. Amelia was a very good girl. She has lost 2 pounds since last year. At her last visit for stomatitis, she had not lost weight and the vet said to turn the automatic feeders to the setting where she got the least amount of food. DN3 did that and it's paid off. He would still like her to lose more weight so she gets to stay on the weight loss cat food. He checked her gums for signs of stomatitis and she has no signs of it either. Successful check up for Amelia.

I can say I've never done a recorded interview. But the last "interview" with micro upstairs lasted 4 minutes and I wasn't able to get a single word in. They already knew everything they needed to know about me or so they said. Okey dokey. I am waiting to see what fresh graduate student with nothing but a master's degree they hire this time. Or which one of our new director's favorites get put in the position under the claim of "getting fresh eyes on things". Whoever they are I'm sure they will be a happy perky doormat just grateful to be employed. Which is what they really want.

Well, the last dress I ordered wound up being the unanimous keeper. Only one of the 5 dresses received was an absolute no (it itched badly). The one I’m keeping is periwinkle blue, the second least expensive of the 5. I do have to give Nordstrom’s kudos. When I called to make arrangements to return 3, it was so easy. Everything is boxed up and labeled to get dropped off tomorrow. On to shoes next! Have I missed the links to the dresses? I am curious…okay, just nosy

Mich, I am also one that really likes periwinkle. Good luck with shoes. Maybe silver? I think that color is popular this year. Cheesy, I am sorry for your loss. DB, DS and I visited the Senior living place DB wants to put my mom at today. It is $5,450 for a private studio suite. The place my friend has their mom at is $5,450 for a one Bedroom unit with a kitchenette. I am going to nose around a bit to compare to other places, but DB wants mom at this place b/c proximity to his house. Sent a text to mom's neighbor for the name of the place her dad is at. It is also close to where mom lives now. Drama, I have a Santa like you describe. I loved it, but it no longer plays music, so I did not bring it out last year. My Bombas socks I bought in spring (4 pr) have all disappeared. I don't wear them that much, but I don't know what happened to them. I still had one pair around last week. I am hoping they are in the hamper, otherwise DD may have nabbed them.
