Today's journaling question:
3. What is most organized in your life? Absolutely fucking nothing. LOL That was my initial response as well. Then I read "most". In the past that would have easily been answered with "finances", but I don't think I can claim that anymore!

What a beauty! Very nice pics. I know you provided a very loving home for her. I won't post any sappy Rainbow Bridge platitudes.

Very windy yesterday and last night Deer repellent I had on a table on the deck fell and spilled on the deck. STINKY! Washed with lots of water and detergent then used paper towels. Right now it’s in the shade. Might still stink when the sun hits it I need to spray repellent tonight cause it’s rained since last application

I didn't tuck it under her paw. I posted that on FB with the caption along this line: "Catnip problem? What catnip problem? This is for...er...um...for a toy mouse...yeah, that's it, a toy mouse."

This one is a no. I'm telling you, these people who take the pictures make tiny areas look huge! This house is a bigger project than I am willing to take on. It needs some love.

True. I was going to try and go the manufactured home route so I could get exactly what I wanted. Holy crap those are expensive! I decided against that real quick. This one really just needs some paint on the walls and refinished floors on the inside. The outside could stand a good power washing. All those things can be done over time. The house appears to have good bones which is really all that's important. I'm trying to figure out the layout. It looks like that place to the far left of the house in the picture of the back would be a good place for a deck (that window above and to the left of the electrical is the kitchen), but I can't figure out what's in that area with no windows further left by looking at the inside pictures.
What's over there??!
The garage. I wasn't impressed.

So, I've purchased four homes. For me, location is the most important factor. NOT "a fixer-upper" is equally as important for us as we are not handy people. Is the plan that this house purchase is it--like you're living there til you die? If so, and you don't want house with huge projects, maybe increase the purchase prices you're looking at? www.zillow.com/homedetails/2110-N-104th-Ter-Kansas-City-KS-66109/75696361_zpid/

Yeah, I wonder about those magical cameras they use. Especially when you see pictures like the one where the fridge seems super short and wide.

I spent most of my day parked on my butt with my laptop, so I didn't put the huge brace on. I also wasn't really walking around much (just to the printer and back) so I didn't put the flat-bottomed shoe on either, in favor of the squishy slides I was actually wearing when I wiped out on the stairs. I can also really feel my calf muscle on that leg. I'll definitely be icing my ankle later tonight when I can put my foot up. for all that have chimed in with tips/advice/medical knowledge when I've asked (I'm looking at you, Mich, among others), I'm floored as to how accurate y'all have been. not that I doubted any of you, I just hadn't realized exactly how intricate the foot/ankle setup is and how intertwined everything actually is. so, thank you! I'm still waiting on my friend the PT to send me over an ankle regimen, so I can just do it at home and not have to schlep out to an office and pay the copay for however long I need. Just don’t do what I did! I was stupid and as a result was sidelined waaaay longer than I should have been because I was impatient and wanted to get back to life.

I'm stealing all of Chloe's journaling questions.
The pictures are probably done with a wide angle lens. DH's family rented a beach house one time and the spaces were much smaller than they appeared in the pictures.
We are having a similar thing with DH's nephew looking for an apartment out of state. Anything can look good on a website.

Wilbur is so stupid and I am so mad at all of us. He ate a damn tampon. He barfed it up this morning. That would explain all the hacking and gagging the last couple of days. He is lucky he got it up. I am very upset with him and our carelessness. I gave him a stern lecture. We need to make sure all sanitary products are out of his reach and keep the bathroom door shut. Also need to get a can with a lid which will at least slow him down and we can hear him trying to knock it over. Stupid dog. I've never had a dog with a tampon fetish in the entire time I've owned dogs so this is a new one for me. I had a cat with a tampon fetch when I lived in Boston. Apparently OB tampons skid across hardwood floors very well and are the perfect cat toy. The closet in my bathroom had a curtain, not a door (and it also contained the litter box) so he used to drag out tampons to play with. I used to have to open the door carefully when I came home, as who knows how many ‘cat toys’ there’d be in front of the door waiting for me. Thank god they were well wrapped!

I am glad you decided that, I did not like the back yard, and questioned if the driveway butted up against the house might destabilize the house foundation. Why don't you look at your budget again and see if you can afford more house. Also maybe wait until fall? People who have kids tend to try to move before school starts, so maybe less competition then?

Plus, my mom already uses a walker,so I need her to be able to get in and out. I don't really care where I live, just so long as it's a safe area. I have to have a basement in the event of a tornado. I also need a fenced in yard for the twins.

You are correct that no house is perfect. Maybe if you have a custom home built for you. That was never in my budget. I do like this house. Even when you do get a house custom built, there are things you get wrong. My sister moved into 2 houses they built. The first house had issues, which she corrected with the second one. Even the second one had issues…..but they were entirely different things. I think it takes living in some place to figure out the shoulda, woulda, oughttas.

Correct. I want to budget max $300K. The bank will give me more, but I don’t want to live paycheck to paycheck. I did it for far too long when the girls were younger. I like disposable income.

This one is a no. I'm telling you, these people who take the pictures make tiny areas look huge! Girl, who are you telling?!?! We were CONSTANTLY being catfished while looking for homes. I still remember one from 2 years ago. It looked totally fine from the outside, but we stepped into the house and the ceiling was - no joke - less than a foot above our heads! And it was like that in every room! We joked that some elves must have lived there.

I decided everything down to the last outlet placement and there are a lot of things I'd change if I could do it over. Had I known I was living on top of a lake, I never would have dug a basement. I would have built the basement above ground and had dirt brought up to it. Also, would have never used the siding I did, would have put a bathroom off the entryway and wouldn't have had a house with an open stairway to the lower level...too much sound travels from the lower level. I also would have built it single level with a big-ass front porch.
Those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head!

I'd like to move sooner for various reasons and am trying to get out of my lease.

Maybe I'll look for open houses and weed some out this weekend.

I am hanging in the air conditioning in Arizona. We flew down for a week to check on our house and see our son. It's been a good trip, hot but overcast with the monsoons, so we have been getting outside a bit.
Today we get pedicures, tomorrow dental cleanings. What an exciting life we lead!

Dogs are gross. That is all. Definitely. At one time we had one that helped herself to presents in the litter box. She really had to cram herself in, because we use covered boxes and both girls poo in the back of the box. Hey, my dog eats those too. Along with the goose shit in the yard. And then rolls in the dead fish that wash up on the shoreline. Get a lab, they said! They're great dogs!!!!
