She's a Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog). I used to have two of them many years ago and they were the bestest dogs. I'm in a couple Shetland Sheepdog groups on Facebook and this girl popped up, and I got all "Awwwwwwww". She's in SW Iowa so only about a 5 hour drive for me, but $1200 when I'm pretty broke. I don't even know what the final bill is for the siding yet.. that lands some night this week. I told her I wouldn't be able to make a trip before Saturday so I'd mull it over until then and not to worry about holding her if someone else came along. Not real fond of buying from a breeder either. But..."Awwwwwww" She is the spitting image of my Nietzsche dog that died in 2007. Doo eeet. I spent $800 on Wilbur and regret nothing. I vote "do it" too. I drove about 4 hours one way to get both of my naughty puppies, and regret nothing. (At least, most of the time...)

It's been under contract twice and fallen through twice, so hopefully you will be able to see the inspection reports. Same thoughts and not thrilled with the sloping yard.

Saw the surgeon this morning. Surgery has been scheduled and I insisted on the first appointment of the day. That means I go back in a week to get the sutures removed at 7:30 AM. They asked if it was okay if a Physian's Assistant removIed the sutures. It is and it is a thoughtful thing to ask. I now have my expectations of what will happen.
I will be there at least 90 minutes. It's a local anesthesia so no driver is required. I will be bandaged, bruised and my eyes might swell shut depending on how much cutting has to be done.
He listened to me and explained my options again. I want to go straight to surgery.
The topical chemo did reduce the size of the cancerous spot to where he does not think I will be disfigured once I heal.
He said if I drive myself, I may have to hold the bandage on my nose. I don't quite understand why there wouldn't be tape.
There was a little fellow there who was must unhappy as he was getting tubes in his ears today. His dad said he and mom hope this is the solution as the kid is sick all of the time.

At yesterday's family reunion for my mom's side of the family, it was agreed that the family is going to do a piece of a wall for veterans. All 5 brothers who lived to adulthood were in the military. We have all heard how grandma worried and that is when her hair turned gray. I know my mom would be very much in favor of this so I will make a contribution.
My cousin the doctor has said if there are not enough contributions to pay for it, she will make up the difference. I hope she gets enough to pay for the entire wall.
So probably next summer, I will be making a trip to Albia Iowa to see the panel for my uncles.

Spent the weekend getting rid of and changing decor in the house that I do not like. Most of which were already in place when we married 15 years ago. Like the runner by the front door. It matches the large area rug, but both are brown and boring. Anyway I was tired of the runner moving around and having to vacuum so much because the backing is mostly worn off. Eventually the carpet will be being replaced with laminate planks and I am fine with nothing there until then.
That is just 1 example, but I got rid of a lot of stuff that I have never been crazy about. I know that some of it was me asserting dominance and me showing that I am no longer interested in keeping with the status quo. DH did not squawk.

A had a doctor appointment today, I went with. He is off the rest of the day, but with this heat we are just staying inside relaxing.
I spent 12000 on Momo and haven't regretted it.

I'm pretty sure DD set a record. She got her license at about 5:30 pm on Friday. On Saturday at 3:30 she had an accident. She was at fault. No one was hurt. Her car has a boo boo that needs to be fixed by the body shop. There were 4 passengers in the car with her. Under NY law, there is only supposed to be 1. DD will not be driving again anytime soon. Or using her phone. Or leaving the house except for work and school activities. Or driving with a passenger in the car until she's at least 17. Dumbass. Glad she's OK. Although I'm pretty sure you'd like to hurt her right about now. If it makes you feel better I had a kid (insured, not my actual kid) get into in an accident in the DMV parking lot.

Completely adorable You’ve had Shelties before? I think my aunt-by-marriage’s family included a breeder…I know she had a few. I was always sad that they were very people-shy but presumably they bond just fine to their actual person. Mine were in no way people shy! They loved everyone, but I took them everywhere with me too. I had a Tri like the one in the pic and a sable. The sable would play ball with kids at the park non stop. If we saw people practicing hitting he was all over it and would run out there and assume the catchers position. If the kid missed, Max would grab the ball and run it back to the pitcher. If the kid hit the ball Max would run out and field the ball and bring it back to the pitcher. He was SO intense and took that job very seriously. I was probably about 4 around then so entirely possible it was a little white lie and they were just 4yo shy, as behooves a smart dog!

Been stressing for ages about running a potentially very touchy meeting about recommendations to convert a process into higher throughput. Buncha people I don’t know on one side, coupla people that are supposed to be experts yet doing extraordinarily and unnecessarily tedious work in high volumes on the other…but they were very open to feedback and recommendations; it couldn’t have gone better and I am thrilled that a. it went well and b. it’s over Now I just have to deal with fallout from a broken promise on another front. Oy.

I spent most of my day parked on my butt with my laptop, so I didn't put the huge brace on. I also wasn't really walking around much (just to the printer and back) so I didn't put the flat-bottomed shoe on either, in favor of the squishy slides I was actually wearing when I wiped out on the stairs. I can also really feel my calf muscle on that leg. I'll definitely be icing my ankle later tonight when I can put my foot up.
for all that have chimed in with tips/advice/medical knowledge when I've asked (I'm looking at you, Mich, among others), I'm floored as to how accurate y'all have been. not that I doubted any of you, I just hadn't realized exactly how intricate the foot/ankle setup is and how intertwined everything actually is. so, thank you! I'm still waiting on my friend the PT to send me over an ankle regimen, so I can just do it at home and not have to schlep out to an office and pay the copay for however long I need.

We got the roofing estimate, its $15k.So now we wait to see what the sellers offer. The agent said the seller's daughter is going for our offer, and she thought they just might only go to full price which would cost us $5k more. We decided we will go to half but no more, so I hope this works. I think we will know this evening or tomorrow.

He fashioned a hook out of a coat hanger and I was able to get my hand far enough down to hook it and bring it up. Not fun at all but better than having to replace it.

My AC is not acting right. It's hot and I'm grumpy. Thermostat says 87 in the house right now. My friend's AC went out last week when it was hot. They slept in the back yard that night.

I am so tired, didn't do much today. I did make $51, my neighbors bought the mower and a shirt. The mower is new but it's just a Murray, seems like that was a Walmart brand, I bought it cheap so that price is ok. I sent them a note as it has no oil gas or anything in it, to make sure they didn't gas it up and try to start it.
Hubs got in a detour and was backed up all over and is coming down from Seattle, he said he couldn't get on his normal road. He probably got turned around, but now he is on I 5 and said its going close to 50, so he will be there soon. I don't know how he does it. Sleeps half an hour here, and hour there and does ok. I used to be able to do that but no more, haven't for years. I get so sleepy when driving anymore. I did today coming home from the dentist.
I forgot to stop and get fresh fruits and veggies today, my stomach is trying to rebel. I guess with even the small amount of ozempic I'm taking I crave them. So tomorrow, cutie oranges, nectarines, apples, a few bananas. DD will eat bananas and apples only. I opened a can of pineapple I was so hungry for fruit. I get the kind packed in its own juice, no sugar added.
I am going to make an appointment to see about my foot with either an Ortho guy here or the podiatrist. It's hurting up on the inside of my shin about half way up. Will see which one is the quickest to get into.
Already, I'm kicked back in bed at 9, this exhaustion about did me in today. My neighbors were here for another hour this evening and all I wanted to do was take a bath and crash, but I was nice as they are nice folks.
Money is going to get tight for awhile, or available money I should say. Not paying any penalties to get it out, so as hubs says, we have to tighten up for a bit. I already have. Only necessities, like groceries, cat food, litter, and items like that and fruit and veggies too. Hope we can sell a house soon.

I can’t sleep. I think I am going to have to bring our sweet, almost 17 YO seal point snowshoe siamese for her last vet visit today.

We’ll have one girl left (a blue point) and she is elderly too, turned 16 in Feb. Ten years ago we had 5. Both girls are SPCA adoptions.
The blue point had a sudden spike in blood pressure that almost killed her last summer. She is being treated for that, but is also exhibiting symptoms of feline dementia.
The seal point has been treated for pancreatitis for almost 2 years. When we saw the vet on Friday, she told us she did not expect sweet Mokka to still be with us this long.

He no longer wants to play with his favourite shoelaces and ribbons. He just wants to lie on the couch with his head on my thigh while I stroke his cheeks and belly. I can't do that all day, but then.......he doesn't have much time left.

Beautiful kitties, so sad when they have to go.
With hubs gone last night, both boys slept with me. I didn't even know they were here as they slept in hubs side of the bed. Gotta love them. Got Smokes nails trimmed, he isn't a problem. All of Tigs but one dew claw and a nail, will have to nab him again. He fights getting it but not by biting or scratching, he just squirms till I can't hold him any longer.I dread the vet today, that will be a battle.
I'm awake, but figure about an hour or so and likely go back to sleep.
Hubs got to the kids safely so that is good to hear. DIL sent me a picture of little guy on the old tractor. My dad wouldn't believe how much hubs and his grandson and great grandson thought of that old thing. Son wanted it so his dad spent over $2k fixing it up and who knows how much for fuel at 9.5mpg to get it there. It's ok, for them its nostalgia, sometimes guys like them say nothing, but their feelings are evident.
He would be so proud of them if he saw the men 2 of them turned out to be and hopefully little guy follows in their paths.

Good morning, illustrious invisipeeps, making continuing progress. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope your day is a delight, ending with peace. And I hope the ice cream is in the offing. I hope no floods or wildfires threaten you or yours. Today we have penciled in on our calendar the Civil War club discussion group's picnic. DH joined this shortly after we moved here. He's been to only a couple of meetings but has enjoyed it. He, too, is a nerd. I think I'll make peach bundt cake to bring along. Yesterday was very dark and windy at dawn. Never did see the sun until hours later, then it came in full. Here the sun is beaming over the hurricane barrier and harbor lighthouse. The revolutionary war cannon in the bottom right is part of the fort in the park.
