I like this one. Maybe I missed it, but I don't see pics or mention of a basement. ETA - The bedroom windows are strange too. It says partial walk up. I think it's more of a storage area under the house. As long as I have somewhere underground in case of a storm, I'm good.

I just turned into that person. A woman, grade-schooler in tow, just drove up to the property across the street and let her large dog out of her vehicle while she dragged the kid to the front door. Doggo charged across the street and took a in my front yard. I went out and yelled at her to come clean up the crap and she just waved back so I taught her some new words in English and Spanish.

Look at this one 2811 Parkview Drive, Kansas City, Kansas 66104. And its a good price too. I'm personally not a fan of splits or tri-levels. that said, this is right next to a major highway interchange. that's why it's priced where it is. I don't see that being a viable option for andi with the twins. I know LD would need to be sedated with highway noise. Macy isn't that far off, from andi's posts. I'm not doing split levels. I also don't want anything near the highway. I worry about twins getting loose and getting run over.

Worth looking at although some of the photos seem AI generated so would want to verify in person, especially the basement area.

That’s the owner’s suite in the basement? I’m weird, I don’t think I could sleep with all of that going on over my head lol. But I guess it could just be covered with a solid ceiling? But that’s just me and my issues, and really the biggest thing that stood out to me.

I thought some of the pictures seemed off, not necessarily AI, but I figured that was maybe me weird again lol. I have learned that taking good, accurate pictures for a house listing must be an art by itself, because more than once I’ve had to try to figure out the layout, how it all fits together, and what the purpose of some rooms should be.

What does "show for backups" mean? The status changed since this morning. I’d guess an offer pending? I think the furnishings make it look more dated than anything. Don’t like the kitchen cabinets, but there are a lot of them. It’s got what looks like a huge lot (with a lot of grass to mow). The furniture, curtains and paneling were the worst offenders, I thought. Although I didn't look closely. Some women have a "pool boy". You'll need a "lawn boy". You can invite him in to shower, when he's done! 😉 😊

My brother and his family have lived in a similar home that was designed with all the common rooms on the upper level and all the bedrooms and full baths on the lower level. Kind of a reverse two story. Walk out basement and all the bedrooms had big windows or sliding patio doors. They have been happy there for 20 years, but it is an unusual configuration. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to sell when they decide to be done with the big house.

I wouldn't do a backup offer. Keep looking you may find one that won't need so much work. Look at estate sales too, sometimes they just want to sell them and take the money. We have gotten some good buys like that. I have to get busy tomorrow and start packing to move. So much to do. I placed a backup offer 2x. Both original offers fell through, but we chose not to buy the house. Sometimes they have the right to tell you that you must remove your contingency or they will take the secondary offer.

Ugh...I hate wildfire season. Can you believe that my youngest child went to a music festival and did not stay for Stevie Nicks!!! It sounds like you raised her wrong. I believe my husband’s exact words were “ I thought I raised her better than that.”

Quindaro is an area that I wouldn't even walk around in at night, and I grew up in a really sketchy area. You wouldn't know about that area not being from here, but thanks. I'm trying to keep the streets in at least the 4000 and possibly up to the 7000 blocks. The bigger the number the further away from downtown KC. My old address which was ghetto AF was 54 for reference. Please do post others if you see them. I do appreciate it.

I was tossing and turning, unable to go to sleep. The tv was on, with HGTV playing, volume low. I always do that, with the sleep timer set to turn the tv off. So it was just enough light from the tv, for me to see something on my pillowcase as I was turning over. Then it moved. A bug on my PILLOWCASE?!
As weird as I am about bugs in general, I am super paranoid about a bug getting in my hair and getting tangled up in it.
I flushed it down the toilet, so I know it’s gone, but my nerves are still really bad.
I still haven’t recovered from Mrs. T saving me from a huge ass wolf spider in the garage a few days ago. It was even bigger than the one Mister killed in the garage a few weeks ago.

Sorry you went through this. Ugh.

EEEEK!
I think two childhood incidents is where my arachnophobia originated.
Once, I was sitting on the grass watching my brothers wrestle around and a spider decided that my lap was a cozy place to be.
Another time was a summer evening that I was having trouble falling asleep. It was still light out when I opened my eyes to see a large spider on my pillow in front of my face. I think that is the fastest I have ever moved. In one motion I leapt out of bed, grabbed the fly swatter off my desk, and beat the living hell out of it. I remember shaking so badly after, that I could hardly stand up.

Good morning, anti-critter invisipeeps, vanquishing insects and other demons. Welcome to Wednesday, Juneteenth in the U.S. I hope your day is sweet and uncomplicated by spiders or other bugs. And I hope nothing takes an unsanctioned crap in your front yard. I hope you are untroubled by fire, storm or heat, and that there's plenty of ice cream for you. Yesterday's lobsters were perfect. I'm going to go back tomorrow and get more while they're $6.99/lb. "alive and kicking" as advertised. Thursday is also the solstice, so it seems fitting. Today I've got to scare up my art supplies for Saturday, and also rework the Bin on my website. I have new pics to add to it and need to take off one that sold. Our heat wave has commenced here. Fortunately we have sustained breezes off the water that keeps the heat from building up too much and also disrupts the gnats and other bugs. The sunrise yesterday was into a column of light in the clouds above:

It's growing warm in our house with the 90s we've got. Our old house usually holds temps for a few days, so we got it cooled down as much as we could in advance by opening windows at night early this week. Still not bad downstairs. The lakes usually keep the area cooler, we tend to average only four 90 degree days per year. We are expected to get 4 just this week, and it's not even technically summer yet! Lots of houses like ours don't have AC. The library DOES have AC, so we are letting people know we are an informal cooling center. I put the letter board sign out front to catch passersby, and posted on FB where other community groups shared the message.

A random comment from my co-worker made me realize I'd never been added to the Directors email group after taking over when G left (early May). I emailed Central to ask how to get put on the list. I did ultimately get added, temporarily, but I wasn't expecting it to be controversial! I'm doing the job, whether you call me "director" or "manager", I need to be in the info loop. Or would you rather I run around oblivious because I missed the memo? I swear this is 90% of my job right now, fighting to get access to some account/portal that didn't get transferred over despite G's best efforts. There's so many...

I just noticed the predicted high is 98 for Sunday. Very humid now. Glad for the day off but wish it was much cooler.

Working on some reporting for a facility that does things that do make sense. It is going to be a long day.

Fell asleep around 11 and woke just after midnight to pee. DH was in bed but awake. My brain decided it was the perfect time for a CTJ talk.
Did not get everything resolved but did get my feelings out. Made it very clear that it will be a while before I can be vulnerable with him again, so he needs to decide if he wants to put in the work. I want the loving relationship back and if that is not in his plan one of us has to go. I have zero interest in being in a "roommate" situation - I would rather be on my own.
Did I mention that it is going to be a long day?

It sounds like you raised her wrong. I believe my husband’s exact words were “ I thought I raised her better than that.” nah, I'm with your kid. Stevie Nicks' voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. I also can't stand James Taylor, I'm a bad Masshole lol.... 😉

This morning is not starting great. I had to take an eye exam for work. I figured with the very first appointment of the day I'd be in and out, but I sat there for 30 minutes waiting to get called back. The test took like 5 minutes, but the nurse was annoying and not very friendly. "What? You can't see anything on that side? Are you sure?" No. I can't. It's called BLIND in that eye. Not sure you covered that in nursing school, but it's where you can't see. Then my blind ass got lost trying to get back to the entrance of the building! Holy maze Batman. I've never been in that clinic and we made like 5 turns to get to the screening room and I wasn't paying attention.
I'm not going to punch out for lunch today so I don't have to work later to make up the time. They should have paid me for the time to go do that anyhow.

Taking dd15, bonus teen, and five other theater teens on long weekend to airbnb about an hour away. Leaving this afternoon. Been looking fwd to it, just need to get my butt out of bed - finish laundry, pack, knock off at least one lingering work project and finally stop procrastinating doing the shitload of online paperwork to enroll dd11 at her new school.
Daisy - wish I were as brave as you are. I've been passive aggressively putting off enrollment to make the point that 99% of the kid jobs land in my lap. Even after my text earlier in the week, husband has continued to ignore the elephant in the room. Hoping getting away clears my head. Should have time for some journaling.
