My 2024 bucket list concert series continues tonight. I'm seeing Stevie Nicks!!!!!!!!!!! Going with my mom and sister. I already know I'm going to cry more than I did seeing Neil Young and Crazy Horse last month. Next month's bucket list show is Pat Benatar. My mom last saw her when she was heavily pregnant with me. What's your bucket list? A different concert every month? I am insanely jealous.

I'm starting to think I should move to Kansas City. I like that house. Not like Mass holds a lot for me. I have been feeling like I need to do something but I don't know what. Inertia has a mighty strong hold on me. KC, Burlington, VT, anywhere but here. Today, though, I'm blowing up the pool. We are getting foster kittens in this afternoon and that is all my plans. The fosters will pick them up at my house and that will take a total of 45 minutes. Woo, the excitement. Well, if you ever decided on KC, you'd have me and my huge family. You might double in size though since we always have way too much food.

The Aerosmith concert that got rescheduled from last year finally has a new date, 1/25. Who the hell wants to come here in January?! I don't even want to be here in January.

I like it but the back deck looks like it needs replacing.

I thought surely I would be called up on stage for being the oldest person there. Love my concerts!! Years ago son treated me to Bob Dylan concert. Waiting for concert to start folks were just talking among themselves and lady behind me ask "wonder what the demographic make up of the audience is" I turned and said "Retired" We laughed and then she motioned to my son and said it was nice to see younger people come to Dylan's concert. My son turned and flashed a big grin and said "I was listening to Dylan before I was born" TRUE so your Mom and you can relate!! Enjoy!!

Oh that is so nice. Had you ever had a deck there before? The one at the house we bought, has no railings or anything either. Going to if hubs will change that. This one has to get railings as it's like 8 feet off the ground. I just noticed last night that the railing is going to butt right up against a window. I'm going to call him Monday and see if he's got any special plans for that. I was thinking to just angle the railing in the last little bit so the window can open 45 degrees or so. It might look a little odd, but that is a window that I do open quite a bit.

A lot of faves over the age of 70 are touring this year (or rescheduled from last year) so I figure this is my last chance to see them for the first time ever. Hence, bucket list concert series: Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Bruce Springsteen in August (rescheduled from last year). Husband and I are also seeing Kesha next month, and Pearl Jam and Old 97s in September, but those artists aren't bucket listable yet.

I got the mower swap done this morning. The "new" one is home and unloaded and ready to try out, but I'm going to have to get someone with a forklift to get the snowblower unloaded...which is kind of a pain since I also need to help my cousin move a swingset sometime today. Right now I'm just relaxing with a late breakfast watching the livestream of Carrot's band competition.

Making chocolate zucchini bread. Really, it's just an excuse to eat a ton of chocolate.
And a way to hide the fact that we can't eat out a whole lot on our trip.
I was going to make brownies, and now I am rethinking.

And also, why is it that we feel compelled to deep clean before we go on vacation? I've purged another two grocery bags of clothes, and will have a nice car full for dropping off at the thrift store. We don't even buy that much. Seriously. We can't afford to. Because it is nice coming home to a clean house. That way all you have to do is unpack and laundry.

Slept well but had weird dreams (why was I stringing thousands of wooden beads on twine?). I'm headed to the farmers market after breakfast, laundry this afternoon. We're forecast for flooding rains Monday-Wednesday, so I'll hit the grocery store tomorrow. Stay safe!

I suspect that thought it's because I have the energy and a good block of time. Three grocery bags doesn't even scratch the surface.

Lots to like—especially the size of the lot. Is that real brick in the dining room?

Oh that is so nice. Had you ever had a deck there before? The one at the house we bought, has no railings or anything either. Going to if hubs will change that. I want 2 things done there for sure. A heat pump added so we have AC, and quartz countertops in the kitchen. It's too nice for just the old ones on the cabinets. I'm getting excited. But we are going to have to really pinch the dollars till we sell the 2 houses likely pretty quickly, but we expect our house to take awhile. But putting that money back will make me feel more secure. Yes, I really worry about money. You will when you no longer work. But getting rid of 2 of them will really reduce our expenses. We have so much to do, time will fly. When is the inspection deadline? I'm retired. I get what you're saying about money worries. I've been spending money on a new kitchen, new flooring, and an updated bathroom. (And buying a new car, but that's another story.) I was feeling really tapped out for a while, thinking I must have lost my mind as I was seeing the cash in the bank headed down with each purchase. But I took a very close look at my overall financial picture and started to relax a bit. I imagine if you consider all your assets, you might relax a bit more. Your personal balance sheet will show the same amount of assets, just (temporarily) divided differently. You'll have less cash and/or retirement funds, but more real estate. When you sell some of that real estate, you'll put the cash back in savings. It's just a short-term switch. For many of us, the biggest worry is where to live. Paying cash for a house makes it easy to know you can stay put if things get bad (as long as your health holds out). Also, factor in peace of mind. You have spent so much time and effort going back and forth on this decision, and now you can relax. You know where everything will go in the new place and that will help you decide what to take with you and what to sell or donate. I'm excited for you.

Our sourdough croissant guy was not at the farmers market today, nor was the tamale lady. We consoled ourselves with a bunch of fresh figs and two beautiful turned wood pieces. One is a bud vase from crape myrtle and the other is sort of a candle holder thing of maple and crape myrtle with resin inserts. They are very unique-the guy is really talented. The two wood pieces decluttered my credit card limit a bit, but won't show up in my midsection like the croissants

I am close to being out of goat milk soap plus cheese. She is elderly but has had a younger person with her the last several years so unusual for complete no show. I’ve been buying from her for a good 15 years. Asked a vendor or two if any reason for absence but no one had a clue. But was able to get other stuff I went for. Love my Market in the Park!

countrygirl2 Congratulations on the new place - I love the window treatments. Did you buy any of the paintings, they are very nice? What do you think is the best way to fix the cabinets under the sink? You'll have so much fun with the lovely house and gorgeous yard

We’ve gone to our town’s annual porch fest. The weather is a brilliant 65°F and sunny.

My zucchini bread ended up baked a tad to long.
It is a bit crusty on top. I think it will soften up though so I'm not too worried. Sometimes my banana bread does that, and the next day it is fine.

Neighbor came over with a bobcat and we got the snowblower in my barn with the forklift attachment. After that I got my cousin's swingset moved and she also asked if I would haul her daughter's playhouse across town as well, so been running all day. It's her parent's truck and trailer, but she's a big nope on driving a 30 year old manual transmission diesel towing a trailer. Only 143 miles and we burned through 3/4 of the first tank. Yikes. Now I would like to mow...but it's raining. Carrot got pretty wet in his parade and they have another one in a few hours where the weather doesn't look much better. He won't be getting back to school until after midnight, so maybe I should just take the dog out for a quick run and take a nap.

I clean my whole house, except running my bedding through the laundry. b/c usually when I get home, all I want to do is sleep, and I don't want to face-plant my travel-dirty body into a nice clean bed. I take care of that the next day, after a solid 10-12 hours of sleep lol...
