I think the daughters’ parts must have been so much fun to play I do remember that scene but I’d focused on the whole breeches (britches?) bit.

I have a question about Supreme Court Members not disclosing trips given to them by so called friends that own businesses. If they call them gifts the value is not taxable? Did Halan Crow take a tax deduction for the "gift"?If Dd's employer lets her fly in an empty seat, she has to pay tax on the value of the "gifted seat". how is that any different? Why is it taxable to one person and not another?Because she’s not a Supreme Court Justice?

Just like average joe can only donate $2,000 per election to federal election candidates and $41,200 to National Party Committees they should limit how much you can gift (ie. Bribe) a Supreme Court Justice with to a similar amount if they refuse to put any other limits in place.

I got a notification that someone was approaching our front door. It was a man, no vehicle in sight. When he rang the doorbell, I used the doorbell camera to ask how could I help him. He said he lives around the corner, and he’s noticed Mister’s old Lincoln in the driveway when he goes for a walk and walks past our cove, and he wondered if we were interested in selling it. I told him it’s not my car, but if he wanted to give me his name and phone number, I would ask the owner and get back to him. He gave me his info and told me he likes old cars, and he use to work as a mechanic, and started rambling about 2 old cars he use to have. I called Mister and told him the man had rang the doorbell asking about buying his Lincoln, and what he said. At first he sounded kind of excited, saying that might be a *sign*, because he’d just talked to a Ford dealer this morning about finding the Mustang he wants. Then he mentioned something about his Dad, and did not sound so excited anymore. I told him he can think about it, just because someone is interested in buying it doesn’t mean he has to make a decision right now. I already know it will be difficult for him to let the car go, he has been sentimental about it from the time I met him, just because his Dad gave it to him years ago, when he needed a car. Even though he wasn’t driving it anymore when I met him, it still meant a lot to him that his Dad gave him the car, and at some point in his life, his Dad had become partial to Lincoln’s and that was all he drove. It is even more complicated now, the sentimental stuff about the car, since his Dad passed last September. I will not try to influence him one way or the other, because I want nothing to do with it if he regrets whatever choice he makes. The car rides like a dream, it feels like you are floating over the streets riding in it. It’s also a “good girl”, and has been a champ, even though it’s been neglected for many years. Even with the neglect, she does her best when he asks her too, which is how I know how it rides, because I’ve rode in it with him several times over the years. But the longer it sits up not being driven, the more issues it is developing, which is on Mister, and nothing to do with the fact that she’s a good girl. It is not as old as the old cars I’m drawn to, which are old muscle cars, vs what was luxury vehicles at the time of production, but I do feel like it would be nice to take her out for a cruise ever so often if he got her all fixed up, so I wouldn’t mind him keeping it, IF he got everything fixed and took care of it. But he is overwhelmed now with where to even start, and trying to find someone he can trust to do the work that needs to be done. But there is also the fact that we already have 5 vehicles, and he is getting ready to buy another one. That is kind of ridiculous. If the end of our driveway was not wide enough to accommodate 3 vehicles side by side, parking would’ve been an issue when we got the Tahoe. OD and my son always park in front of the Lincoln (it’s backed into the driveway), and that is the only spot left in the driveway where we can still get the other vehicles in and out of the driveway and garage without shuffling things around. Idk where he’s going to park a darn Mustang. He might be willing to move his Honda out of the garage, to the driveway, but even if the Mustang isn’t too long to fit in the garage, it will definitely be too wide for it and MY Honda to both fit in our garage. And I’m not moving my car to the driveway. She’s always lived in a garage, for almost 21 years now. Idc that she’s old, she’s been very good to me and she’s my baby and I am sentimental about her too lol. Anyway, I went off on a tangent, but I also wanted to say that it was weird having a whole conversation with someone through my doorbell camera. I don't understand how his brain works. He has 5 vehicles and a bunch of credit card debt. So his bright idea is to take on a $700-800/month car payment? Why doesn't he just sell what he doesn't drive first? I can see having a car or SUV and a truck for hauling things, but 5 (soon to be 6) cars is a bit excessive.

ah, gotta love the mornings when you hear the Teams ping noise before you even get out of bed. I knew exactly who it was going to be, and I wasn't disappointed. today's a good day to not be in person, b/c I'd be fired for some of the things I've already said out loud here at home. I managed to not type those things back in response, but when I'm pointing out in a group chat that this pushy woman is CC'd on all of the document approvals that she's asking me about, you know I'm over her crap this early in the morning. TGIF, kids! I shut my computer completely down when I log off work. I'll just deal with the BS the next work day.

It's to the point, now, where I am quite fearful that somehow I'll leave a call open and folks will hear me. Actually, I'm quite fearful in general if I say something other than "Yes!" that isn't 100% "everything is awesome." I'm currently on a call for this project now, and I'm definitely on mute for it. although earlier this week, I left the line open and had to walk out back to peel LD off the fence. that wasn't quiet, either. I mute myself when I'm not talking for this same reason. A few weeks ago I was on a team meeting which included my boss and her boss. The Amazon driver dropped off a package and knocked on the door. Both twins went apeshit. Luckily I was muted and nobody heard anything.

I'm right there with you. I don't understand this mindset. Why do women have to have the government or religion have any say over their body? The world would be a much better place if people would just mind their own damn business. That will never happen, but it would be nice. Trying really hard not to bring politics into the thread…but the suggestion to donate to this particular cause Who said anything about politics? Being so entitled to think that you can control other people under any circumstances is not political. It's just stupid and I don't understand it.

I can close Outlook and Teams, but the pings still come through. she was a PITA all damn morning, so the fact that I heard it early didn't really change anything. I actually had other team members reach out to see if I was alright, b/c my answers got really short and clipped. I just need that woman to go away and find another effing target to focus on. she likes me b/c I don't do things the way she likes. whatever, you're not my boss.

That’s why he was waiting to buy the Mustang, to deal with the credit card debt first. I assume he is going to finance the Mustang, because he keeps watching his credit score. I think he might have left small balances on 1 or 2 cards, because when he started paying them off, his credit score started fluctuating (as in going down sometimes for some reason), and the only debt he has besides the cards, is the mortgage. To be fair, 2 of the 5 vehicles are mine.

I got to pay tax on anything over the certain amount that my employer paid for my PhD. However, someone can pay a SC justice's nephew's private school tuition?

I have been haunting TSA's gov web site since I got home because my NEXUS card renewal was conditionally approved, with an interview. I kept going back to check to see if new appointment slots for interviews opened up. This morning I went into the website, and my conditionally approved has been changed to approved. No interview necessary!!! However, my sister, who applied Jan of 2023 is still pending approval for a new card.

As I look worse with my nose crusting over, I decided I need a mental health day. I'm going to chill and do whatever today. I can't with my clueless sister. She sent a text last night asking if the next round of chemo will hurt as much as the first one. Why won't it? I will still be putting poison on my nose twice a day that is to kill bad cells. Yes, it's going to make a wound and get sore again. I suppose that was her version of "helping" and providing "support" but she's so far out in left field, she might as well be playing a different sport. She is clueless. Totally clueless.

I went to Trivia Night yesterday and had a blast.
I just finished watering the plants....it's a huge job. I have everything from lettuce to flowers on my balcony, a massive Boston fern, a huge spider plant and orchids in my bedroom and the living room looks like a greenhouse.
