Mister has been saying since last week that tonight and tomorrow night, he is going to work the overnight shift. He is working on getting more supervisors, but he still does not have a supervisor at all on the overnight shift. He needs at least 2 supervisors on each shift, but it is a process and a lot of paperwork and bs to justify the need and get things approved for him to get supervisors. So for now, he only has 1 real supervisor on the day shift, and an acting supervisor on the evening shift.
He has “gone to bed” several times today, since before I got off work today, and after I got off work, to prepare for going to work tonight and having to be up all night. He still has not slept, and can’t stay in bed. His plan is obviously falling apart already lol.
Knowing him, he will still probably tough it out and go in later tonight, but if he doesn’t, it’s not like he’ll be in some kind of trouble, since he’s the boss. But he’s been wanting to work this shift for some months now, just to see for himself what’s going on on that shift, and let the employees on that shift see his face. They have already requested a meeting with him a couple months ago, and he went in early, before they got off work, to have a meeting and hear what they wanted to talk to him about and address their concerns.
He is really struggling now, with his plan to work with them tonight lol. Nobody knows it’s his plan, so it’s not like he will be letting anyone down (besides himself) if he doesn’t make it there as planned.

I am sitting outside in the dark again with my bodyguard.
Mister and I both got skeert about sitting on the deck at night after that “thing” snuck up behind me in broad daylight. And Mister not nearly as scary as I am.
I am looking forward to being able to sit on the deck again, after the repairs are done. That really was a happy place for me. Getting the tree in the backyard trimmed, includes removing the branches that are hanging over the deck now. I wouldn’t mind the branches hanging over the deck, if we didn’t have those worms that make those nasty looking webs in trees, and one of those worms fell on my shoulder last summer. Which was the last straw for me sitting on the deck, even in the day time, and why I’ve been sitting outside on another side of the house since then, and avoiding the deck.
I am terrified of the thought of any bug getting in my hair, because the way my hair is set up, I might not be able to see/find it, and it’s very possible for a bug to get so tangled up in my hair, that it can’t get out even if it wants to.
So I see a lot of hair covering type stuff in my future for this summer. Those kinds of concerns weren’t on my radar when my hair was relaxed and straight, so I understand how people that aren’t so afraid of bugs in the first place, and don’t have hair with small curls and tight coils that get all tangled up just because it’s doing what it do, like my hair does, don’t get it IRT my fears about bugs getting in my hair. I’m okay with that.
I really was just saying that I will be very, very happy when I get to enjoy sitting on the deck again, like I use to.

Well I am up late.. I ate so much last night I overdid it. My ozempic dose is way down but I was afraid it would make me sick, thankfully it did not. Grandson entertains himself and DD is like me, sleeps in. I am still staying up to late at night. Math help is going to be out, I had algebra and advanced in high school only, and trig in college. That's it, so I'm no help, didn't need that in accounting. Grandson will have to learn on his own. I remember bits and pieces. I guess if he is interested he will. I need to fix breakfast, grilled cheese for the kids, they always want that and I will have some bacon and eggs. It is really pretty out today. I'm going to wash the last blanket and the sheets off grandson and my bed today. Next week won't take much to be ready to leave. Mopping and vaccing. We are eating out too much but I don't want to stock more food with only being here another week. And I definitely need to mow. I have not trimmed or worked on the sidewalk like I intended to do. I am watching on Utube a police chase. Where do people get cars that will go almost 200 mph? I can't tell what kind of car it is as its dark. The Dodge Hellcat is rated for 203. Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, many others out of a showroom are good for 150+. DH did 110 on a closed track in a Cadillac V. Right now he's drooling over some little Toyota thing that produces 300 hp straight off the showroom floor, no modifications. DH’s Corvette is listed to have a top speed of 171 mph before modifications. I’ll have to ask what the top speed he’s hit on a track day is.

I had a yellow Chevy SS that would go 120 and I did one time. It was totally stupid as I had about 4 girls with me. I have done some really dumb things and came out unscathed. I still think what if the cops had stopped me. Dad would have taken the car, I could not have gone to college and who knows what. That's why I worry about grandson, I know some of the silly "shit" I did and there was more.
But to have one go 200 mph that would be something. And truth be told, back then I might have tried it.
I took grandson to McD's that had a playground and he played with some girls after he ate. He enjoyed that. His dad had come to get him so I took him on home. I love him a lot, but he does wear me out. I'm cold, need to go get warm. Bathtime

Going to hit the sack, I am so tired tonight I can't keep my eyes open. I sleep but most of the time never feel rested. I have no idea why, I think that is a problem with lots of old people. I even napped off and on today.
Maybe I need to try vitamin B again, it tends to give you energy, maybe that will help.I mowed a small area of the lawn today. I was just beat and had to stop, it just lack of energy. Or does this just happen to old people?

Good morning, adventuresome invisipeeps of Y Ma'am, traversing the country or just your own homes. Welcome to Monday, that untrustworthy day. I hope this proves to be an easy comfortable day for you, in which you get only applause for your efforts. And if not, I hope you at least wend your way to the bitter end and get sweet rest. There's a bar called the Bitter End at the edge of town here. Some day I'll go there and get pictures, perhaps with chiver78. Today DD has a job interview for an RN at a nursing home. She has some trepidation. She uses a cane to remain steady on her feet and is unsure how they'll take it, plus nursing homes generally do not pay well. I told her it's good practice anyway. Ideally she'll wind up with a remote job somewhere. She is awesome on the phone. We'll see what happens. I told her to hope for the best, be ready for anything and to not count on anything in particular. I'm just chugging along. I slept most of yesterday except for getting Sunday sundaes and working on the web site. The sun rose yesterday morning into mostly clear skies. Before that, the light was caught by the broken cloud cover:

So DD1 cleaned up the kitchen a little bit while we were gone. Why do I feel so bad? I feel like a failure, like I should be on top of everything. Which is silly, I know. I'm already feeling badly work tomorrow. You should feel happy and proud of your DD1 and you! Your teaching her by example to take responsibility Well done!

She's really a good egg.

I may have blown up (figuratively) my home in the middle of the night last night. Can't wait to see what today brings.

I just waited too long to say it and it came out harsher than I intended and resulted in some harsh words thrown at me in an attempt to gaslight, which I was not going to allow. Apologies were made, but nothing really resolved.

Finished power point presentation to be presented this afternoon, followed by another late meeting. Hoping manager cancels that one because everyone involved will already be in the presentation meeting.

And if he isn't, there isn't anything I can do about it anyway. We have a crazy few weeks coming up. So that's where my head will be.

I hope your peace continues.

Left the wedding location and drove up to my cousin’s in Peru. We spent a very nice day in their pool, floating around talking and drinking. Took off around 7:30, to give then a break from us and to drive to Logansport. There is a frozen custard stand there that has the best frozen custard ever. I remember getting sent down the alley from grandma’s house as a child after dinner with a quarter and a penny for tax for a single dip cone. I must have been all of 6 years old….if that….so this stand has been there since the early 1960s. The only difference that last night cars were backed up in the drive thru onto E Market St. The walk up window was to the road. I don’t ever remember seeing it like this.
Today, there will be more pool time, plus a visit to the cemetery to see my folk’s headstone. We are going to hit another cemetery to see where my birth grandparents are buried. My grandfather died in a farm accident, my grandmother not long after my mom’s birth so her sister raised my mom and her sister.
Was sad to see the diner across the street from the Best Western has closed. The breakfast here is barely edible, but at least the coffee’s ok. We used to hit the diner when we were here last time, but that would have been around 2015.

back to work today, and I'm already annoyed. but, I'm sitting on the deck and enjoying a mild morning with no breeze. breakfast was a plate of Malarky's delicious strawberry breakfast casserole with local syrup and a mug of coffee. I'm going to be burning a path between the deck and my printer today, but that's fine. it's all on one level

Okay so people who are in corporate America I need to know if I am crazy or not. Apparently the fact I did not take that lab tech position is "proof" I am not interested in moving up because if I had been I should have eagerly taken a lateral move into their department based on the promise that "someday" I would be promoted. Despite seeing ample evidence in BOTH my current department and theirs that this doesn't always happen. To me it was like no this is not a good career move for me. I'd be taking several steps further down the ladder and you have made it clear the only time anyone is promoted is if there is an open position. So I could be waiting YEARS washing your dishes to move up. Or I can stay down in my current department which sucks but the director seems to want to develop me so I have been given opportunities to get out of my hovel and "prove" myself. I gave them every opportunity to show me that they were actually interested in developing me, that they had a plan. I laid out for them why I did not feel that this was the right position and they had every opportunity to counter offer me. They did not. I specifically asked them what does this roledo, how would I get opportunities and they said "Well you'd be mainly washing dishes/doing autoclaving but maybe after a few months we can get you started on tests like pH" No. No! Absolutely not am I going so far down the ladder you need to train me on how to do pH! Not when despite manager issues down here I am already primary on one test and I was being asked to consider doing HPLC work to demonstrate that I can walk the walk. If I had been a fucking external candidate and turned that lab tech position down they wouldn't have likely said boo about it and forgotten all about me. And NO I am not coming up there to do a job beneath me to learn shit I already know how to do. You fucking said it yourself that my resume is PERFECT for your needs. So why would I take a job below me? Is that how corporate America works? I have to go lower and lower before I can move upwards? That I have to prove I can "hack it" as a peon to them despite the fact my resume has 14 years experience, two papers and I word for word was able to copy their SOPs into my resume because I've done it all already? And if I am not willing to grovel and make lateral moves/lower moves this shows that I am a lazy unambitious human being who barely deserves the job she has? Going back to if I was an external candidate not only would I have gotten an interview it sounds like I would have damn near been hired on the spot. Did I take the wrong colored pill or something?

I know but I have also been wondering if maybe I can't hack it in corporate America. Maybe I really am one of those people who should have continued to hide in the ivory tower of academics. If I can't play the game I'm never going to win or even be able to stay on the board. So I have been wondering if maybe I am the crazy one and this is just how the world operates? I don't want to leave and end up in the same position or worse because it really IS me and my lack of understanding how the real world works. ETA: Which this reminds me I need to look up how much is in our HSA and see if I can pay to reactive my therapy account. Clearly I need it.

So DD1 cleaned up the kitchen a little bit while we were gone. Gira, I would never in a million years thought to do that for my mom. Never. You have raised a great teenager. I think J is a lot like your missy. He talks non stop. I don't know how they take it.

FWIW, I do work in corporate America and that is not how the company I work for operates. There are good companies and bad companies in corporate America.
