It's now my coffee time as I bring along the west coast time zone in the enduring attempt to catch up to the rest of you. DH is already out in the hot tub (It's 8am here). I suppose that's the point of having a hot tub, right? One can use it whenever they want? Miss Grandbaby is spending the night tonight. She's requested we bake something, so I'm considering what we'll bake. It's cold and cloudy and rainy this morning, so I won't be doing yard work today. I do have a project I've been painstakingly procrastinating on since we moved in this house 22 month ago. I really should make progress on that today. I"m also researching new recipes as we're in a bit of rut dinner-wise.

Seeing if I can use some yarn I have at home for my class. while I don't understand how folks can open up their closet full closet and have nothing to wear, I can see how it could happen. I opened up my sock yarn container, and I didn't have much to work with. To which DD1 replied 'That's all sock yarn?" Yes dear, and I will pet it and call it george.
I am satisfied with what I found, though. I hope the yarn store will cake one of the yarns. I did buy it from there, like 8 years ago. DD1 asked if we could go shopping beforehand, and I'm trying to make it work while prepping for brunch for tomorrow. OMG, almost sprayed screen with coffee! Thanks for the laugh - priceless.......

Okay, breakfast done, floors clean, and stuff picked up so we can make a good impression this afternoon when the realtor comes.
Next time y'all decide to have one of those "I can't sleep parties" would you please not invite me? Awake at 4, DH was flopping around like a beached fish while snoring loudly. I finally dozed off just in time for the 6 am alarm.

I'm taking a break from yard cleanup and planting. The contractors did a great job, but two of my flowerbeds are destroyed. I'm pondering a Home Depot run later. The excitement just never ends at my house.

Falling deeper into the depths of this cold. Carrot says I now sound like demon from Hell. As predicted it's a steady rain out there so no mowing. I really should make a Sam's Club run today though. Maybe a long hot shower will clear my head a little.

I slept late and really wanted to just stay in bed.
Nephew in law just left. He caulked all of the vents on the roof and walked all over it several times. It is his opinion, I do not need a new roof and he thinks this will solve the problem. He was in the attic yesterday and knows the rain is coming in at the vent pipe. So after dark, I will call the Amish to let them know I do not need their services at this time.
NIL also said he would not put a steel roof on my house. He said given my age, he would not spend the extra money for someone else's benefit. He would put good quality shingles when the time comes.
The ceiling can't be dealt with until it is dry. Then I will try to find someone who will do a small job. That will probably take forever and NIL said he knows how to do new drywall but he does not know how to match the ceiling so he is out. BIL said they were able to do a special kind of paint and then paint the ceiling. I'm not going to worry about that until fall at least.

I'm finally having something to eat, while I tune in to the start of today's Sox game. today's been productive so far! in addition to S mowing my lawn with her own mower after mine wouldn't start I was able to weed most of what's starting to come through the mulch beds. some of it wasn't big enough for me to grab and pull down to the roots, so I left it to grow a little more before I yank it. then, mooch texts to let me know that he'd be here by noon to put the outdoor shower online for the season. he brought M, and she made herself busy tending a fire in the fire pit. there was still a pile of the small sticks the landscapers cleaned up as they worked a few weeks ago. she got that pile down to nothing and started adding some of the crap wood (old landscape timbers, pieces of picket fencing, etc) that the guys had stacked on top of the good wood pile to get it out of the way. yay! less for me to have to burn later. I just wish I'd remembered to close the bedroom windows before she started, it smells like a bonfire in here. oops. I'll just leave the windows open to air the house out, until it's too cold. it got cloudy as everyone was heading out, and the temp dropped a good 10-15 degrees. ugh.

No, not retired, I just rarely sleep more than 6 hours and am usually up in plenty of time for work. It is hard to be late when the morning commute consists of dodging cats on the way down the hall to the corner bedroom office.

It is May right? Sunny weather with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s are supposed to have arrived. Sure that was true yesterday. But today wet stuff is falling out of the sky at a pretty good clip (in other words rain not just a drizzle) and the forecast is for ~0.8" - granted not much but the average for the entire month of May is 0.5"! And it is only 56° so I am wearing a sweater. in friggin' May when I should be thinking about whether I want to go down to the pool. I feel majorly jibbed!

I'm colouring Easter eggs. Tomorrow is my Easter. Enjoy! I think we should color all our eggs, all year! I love hard boiled eggs. I use them a lot in cooking, especially Asian dishes. Sometimes I colour them red and green for Christmas. The udon, bok choy and garlic shrimp I'm going to make will have sliced hardboiled egg in it. Also great in Asian noodle soups.

Oh, by the way, the guys in this video I posted aren't Palestinian terrorists, with their faces covered. They're Tuareg nomads, and the coverings are essential for the blowing sand.

I have the 2 chairs partially put together but I haven't really started to finish them. I need more caffeine even though is after noon. I know I will finish the chairs today and work on the table also.
The loveseat might be a few days-- the screw tightener thing is different, and it can only go one way so you can't flip it so the handle is longer which would be easier for me.

Okay, our estimated sale price is between $261,000 and $300,000, probably toward the upward end of that range. She said our amenities were exceptional

I'm beat. Ran my town's spring clean up day this morning. I'm on the couch trying not to close my eyes because I need to dry my hair and get presentable for dinner. Husband is running Broad Street tomorrow (10 miler in Philly), so early dinner then a relaxing night watching soccer with some wine.

Looked at several houses today and none were suitable. The realtor we are working with thought we wanted to buy a house at a lower price point than we want. Total miscommunication. We’re going to look at more houses tomorrow at a higher price point. Two of them look like they are viable options.

DD1 asked if we could go shopping beforehand, and I'm trying to make it work while prepping for brunch for tomorrow. LOL! I just rolled a ball of yarn from a hank this morning. 374 yards, according to the label. It turns out that the striping was not as bad as I thought it looked in daylight, so am proceeding on with this project. The hank of yarn I have is a good bridge between the blueish purple and the purplish blue. As we were winding, TD asked if I just can’t knit from the hank. I think we got about 1/3 the way through and he understood what kind of mess can happen. He thought him pulling yarn from the hank and me winding would work, so he put the hank around a bag. I didn’t think it would work, but he’s an engineer so he knows these things. While I was untangling the umpteenth mess, he said ‘I guess that wasn’t such a great idea’. To be fair, I knew this yarn had the potential to be a bitch as I was there when the yarn shop was caking my other hanks of it. This Hank I bought on Amazon, hoping to get more of what I needed. There is always an excuse why I can’t use the yarn I have. Not enough, wrong color, wrong yarn……I am also starting to acquire a bunch of partially used yarn where there is not enough for anything.

Donate your partial yarn to preschool when you get back. My DH does this craft all the time where the kids dip the yarn through glue and then make pictures on paper. It's ooey, gooey fun.

I'm colouring Easter eggs. Tomorrow is my Easter. My wife finished the Pysanky yesterday. All the food is ready for the basket we take to church to get blessed at tonight's service which ends in Liturgy after midnight so we don't have normal Sunday Liturgy.

Just saw the most interesting pollinator sipping at one of my hanging flowers. Took me a bit to put a good descriptor in a search engine. It is a hummingbird clearwing moth. This is an internet image, not mine.

My hands and fingers are so sore. Got 1 chair done, got the table but am fighting the 2nd chair. I'm going to have to rest my hands for a while before trying again.
The love seat is for sure going to be a multi hour thing. Probably multi days also.

After falling asleep before 10 pm last night I was up bright and early today. Hopefully that means another early bedtime. In the meantime, I’m enjoying relaxing on my couch with an adult beverage while I catch up on my tv shows

DIL and I finally found little guy some shoes. My son doesn't believe we can't find them. A clerk at Dicks Sporting Goods helped us.
We got 2 slip ONS, hard to get on but they will loosen. He is a size 4.5 and so wide it was past the E on the width. He said soon at he gets a little bigger we can get wide widths for him. It is almost impossible to get him shoes, these just happen to have a wider toe box.
Little guy is doing really well in school. DIL said when she met with his teacher this year, she said you do know your son is a genius don't you? She said I didn't know what to say. Here last year the teacher said he was disruptive and such and he kept saying he was bored. I knew he was smart but a genius, really?
But then he and I had a discussion about Pangea on the way home. And he showed me the formulas he is working on figuring out, I have no idea what they are. He is learning tons from utube, but also some not so good things so they have to watch him. His curiosity knows no limits. I asked how much of this he was learning from school, he said lots of it is from other sources. But I think he is having some problem relating to some of his classmates, but he has friends. And if he continues having good teachers he will do well. But I'm not sure this is the school for him. But our little genius still can't tie his shoes, LOL! And he is still just a kid.
I'm going to do some work on tightening this place up. This window air conditioner through the wall is likely causing cold air in here. I covered the inside and out side with covers. But I'm going to take the inside cover off and stuff it with insulation. Next summer if hubs doesn't take it out I am, and cover and block up, inside and out, the hole and insulate it.
I'm also going to make some covers for the bathroom vents, these are older ones and have nothing inside to stop heat from going out. Will look at the kitchen vent over the stove too. I grew up living in older homes and we used all kinds of means to make them warmer, just haven't had to do that sort of thing in many a year. I think this may be what this needs. It's pretty comfy everywhere in here except the living room and by that kitchen stove. I know it won't make it worse so we will see what I can do.
