My front porch was in a car accident this afternoon. All the drivers are ok, but the porch not so much. The police just gave me a copy of the report so I have all the insurance information for the drivers involved. I think I'm going to wait until my husband gets home so he can figure out how serious the damage is before we call the insurance company. No clue if we would be better off just fixing it ourselves to avoid getting our premiums raised. Go through their car insurance. Homeowners claims count way more than auto claims unless they're weather related. Plus you don't have to pay your deductible.

This is beginning to seem like Freaky Friday because good friends just posted a pic on FB of a car that was forced off the road and is now sitting in their backyard. Fence and patio are toast, but fortunately the car did not hit the house. Here in H-town odds are slim that #1 Offending driver stopped, was apprehended or had insurance or #2 Victimized driver has insurance in which case it will go against our friends' homeowners policy in some way. Sucks all around

I'm over Jackson y'all. Today is laundry day so I washed my bedding. Anyone ever try making your bed with a 100 pound dog in it? I kept shooing him off and he kept walking to the other side of the bed and jumping back on. Weirdo.

L will be moving in with my dad in June. Her rent I'd getting too high. Dad's house is paid off so it makes sense. Not sure how I feel about it. I told him I know it's not my place but is he sure HE is ready because he was talking about cleaning the house and was getting upset. I said I know he asked her but doing what is going to be the final clean out is a huge step. Yeah it's been two years but if you're not ready you're not ready. He said yes and no. I will be taking mom's cookie jars. He doesn't think L would mind but he doesn't know and doesn't want to get rid of them or stick them in the basement. This is going to be hard. I said of course I'll help. It's a welcoming gesture and no way would I expect dad to handle all that alone. It's too much. Hell the idea of it is overwhelming me and it's not my house. But it's my mom. It's going to be weird for awhile. I appreciate he gave me a decent heads up. Does she not have kids she can move in with or a friend she can roommate with? You're handling it well. I don't know if I could. My parents have been married forever like yours so I imagine you have a lot of feelings going on. Not really and my dad offered. It's definitely weird and probably going to fuck with my head till I get used to it. But my dad is young and should be able to move on. He'll never stop loving my mother. I could tell that when he opened a random cupboard and stared at her tea mug for a solid 5 minutes.💔

DH retired today and I’m not sure how I feel about it. He’s going to be home all the time and I don’t really want him underfoot all the time. Remains to be seen how it goes. Congrats to him. I hope it goes well. After my dad retired, my mom went back to work. Too much togetherness, for awhile. It majorly messed with her Social Security, when she retired. Good luck!

We're okay. The worst is over for the moment.
Wilbur did not like being downstairs. He was freaking out pretty bad.
No damage to our house and we still have power.
It took out Eppley airfield and 35th and Broadway.

I try to stay away from my sister to maintain my sanity. She is a bully and tries to bully me in to doing what she wants me to do. I have my friend Jerry to thank for this clarity. Back to the eye doctor for the test for peripheral vision. I had misunderstood and thought all I was doing was that test for 30 minutes and I though I would be crazy after it. I hate that test with a passion. I was only in the office for 20 minutes and that was not the only test I did. So all of that worrying for nothing. Honestly, I'm glad you stay away from her most of the time. From the stuff you post about her I want to throat punch her sometimes. So do I. It is in my best interest to stay away from her.

I am finally home. I did go see DGS when I got off work. I didn’t stay long, and when I was leaving DGD2 got sad and didn’t want me to leave. When I got home, Mrs. T and her son were outside taking pictures of her oldest daughter. She was dressed for her prom. I went over to ooh and aah over her before I went in the house. She looked so pretty. She’s a pretty girl anyway, but she looked lovely all dolled up. I am very tired. I hope I get some good sleep tonight because I have a LOT of stuff to do tomorrow. And I HAVE to do it all.

We can't get her fully downstairs, at least I can't alone. I had to leave her on the basement stairs landing. He didn't like that.

My car has to go back to the mechanic.
While they fixed things, they did not actually fix the problem. In fact, it is worse.
This is like the worst timing.

I was telling my dad about the work BS and how I'm single handedly destroying productivity, morale and customer satisfaction in the lab.
He said well there is always someone might as well be you and if I'm going to do it go all out. 🤣

my body decided I needed a nap earlier, so I climbed into bed for a little while. well, I woke up around 730 thinking it was morning, and checking my phone to see why the alarm hadn't gone off. 🤦♀️ neither pup rustled when I got up to pee, so I climbed back into bed. I think, unless one of them declares otherwise later on, that I'm in bed for the night. we can all do a big breakfast in the am.

Recommendations for a few days in Juneau- Alaska please. A whale watching tour. Seafood feast. Mendenhall glacier. There was a park there that was full of bald eagles - at least several hundred, but I can't remember the name of it.

Since I'm 100% sure your porch did NOT jump out in front of that car, this should not impact your premiums. When you report this to your insurance company, they will go after the responsible driver(s). It may take a bit but this should not be on your nickel Yes it will. Homeowners insurance doesn't work the same as auto insurance.

Go through their car insurance. Homeowners claims count way more than auto claims unless they're weather related. Plus you don't have to pay your deductible. So we should call their car insurance instead of calling our own insurance agent? Yes. Let the property damage piece of their car insurance cover it. If they don't have enough coverage, then file a homeowners claim.
