azucena do they have a Facebook page? Maybe you could find someone that way? Or maybe chiver78 would have suggestions on finding a cruise roommate? if the event is worth its salt, there is a FB page, an IG page (or whatever that's called) and a bunch of other social media outlets dedicated to it. I've never heard of the Jen or the company listed on the website, so I'm not much help there. but def look into the social media outlets for the trip. you're booking with like-minded folks, so you're going to find friends onboard. even if you still book solo in a cubby on the bottom deck to preserve funds and have personal space, you'll absolutely have a good time outside of the cabin. Cruise was just announced. She hosted one last year, has one in Nov and now this one in Jan. Clearly they make money for her. I know I will find like minded women as part of the group. I don't think a fb group has popped up for this particular cruise yet but good idea to look for one. Thanks chiver78! DH was completely on board with me going so I'll call tomorrow. Wondering if they have some kind of roommate quiz form to help put like women together. Hatmaker has written at least a dozen books and a few on NYT bestseller. She started out as what I'd call a Christian influencer. She's become more progressive in her faith journey the last 5+ years. Kinda mimicking my own journey. Most of the stuff she posts either resonates with me or challenges me to think.

same!! so what you missed this morning, before the jury came in, the defense got up to further object to photos not being allowed in* last week for the purpose of impeaching the testimony of the one lady EMT who happens to be very good friends with the daughter of the homeowner. ICYMI - her answer to the prosecution when asked if she knew C was to say that "there was a girl named CA in my class, sure" and the defense came up with a stack of FB pics over the years, of the EMT and CA all buddy buddy. well, this am, defense showed up with another stack of pics that had been sent in from various people, showing the EMT and CA together as recently as a baby shower during COVID and all buddy buddy. really? that's an acquaintance? yikes. oh, and CA is also on the witness list.....so the defense wanted to make clear that this was coming up again, and could we have a side hearing about it today? *the reason the photos weren't allowed was called a discovery violation by the judge. defense argued that the sole purpose of the photos was for impeachment of witness testimony and doesn't fall under the rules of discovery like other facts pertinent to the actual crime. swamp - thoughts? also, sorry/TIA.....I'm probably gonna tag you a few more times before all of this is over. I was reading the morning recaps during the MANY sidebars during Goode's testimony. I of course have my own biases about this trial, but those "Sure" answers just sounded (and looked) like a big "eff you, whatever you say" type of response while trying not to incriminate himself. I liked how the defense kept pointing out that Goode knew and had relations with the homeowner and their family. Oh, and that address was incorrect on the face page of the report! Also how was Goode able to reach someone who was there within 10 minutes to take over the call center for him at 6AM in the morning on the weekend so that he could investigate.? And the homeowner never came out while there was a firetruck, 3 police cars, and one ambulance (and then another for KR) was in front of the house. With all their lights going. Plus 2 unmarked detective vehicles - you know he knew they were there. And neither did anyone else on the street. I have lived in a major US city known for crime and the in rural areas and have never seen people not be nosy! I also can not believe that any of the evidence from the scene is admissible due to how it was collected.

We are feeling really good about the realtor we met with Saturday, and will definitely use her when we decide to sell. She's very professional, part of a 15-person team, and hits all the marks for marketing including social media. She's Army Reserve, and her brother and dad are Army too. Anyone who block walks in Texas weather to hand out flyers for an open house understands hustle and is willing to put in the time to make it happen. Her digital and print presentation to us, with comps, was impressive.

Is Mr. T moving too or are they divorcing? FWIW, I’ve been out of the loop as I needed a break from the boards. She is leaving Mr. T and moving back to her home city. I’m not sure what Mr. T’s plans are, but he would have a very hard time selling their house unless he found a buyer that is into dogs like he is, because of all the stuff he’s added in the backyard. He trains and breeds German Shepherd dogs that he sells for K9 type work. He added another shed, something I can only see the roof of because of the fence, and another structure that looks like a large shed, but is actually a heated and air conditioned thing for when one of his dogs has puppies. It is attached to a large run/kennel/whatever so that whatever dogs are in there can go outside when they want, but not have free run of the yard. I think (but am not sure) that all of them can’t have free run of the yard at the same time. I do often see a *monster* roaming freely, I can just barely see them through the small gaps between some of the boards of his fence when they are walking close to it. They have a large backyard, but between all of that stuff and their pool, I don’t think there’s much space left back there. I would think that only someone with the same interests would want all of that stuff taking up so much space in the backyard. I missed that part about her moving back home. Is that very far? Are their twins going with her? I hope it is not far because from what you have posted in the past both are good people and parents.

OMG. This program review is supposed to determine which projects receive continued support and which get kicked to the curb and they couldn’t even keep straight which project they were talking about. Seriously, I‘m still not sure if it was Project A that needed to be licensed out in 6 months bc it was too speculative or Project B bc it was too expensive…maybe both? Also they canceled all the breaks bc we were so far behind schedule, no lunch or bathroom breaks 10 am-4:45 pm. Assholes I would put up the BRB. I can skip lunch, but no bathroom breaks in almost 7 hours?!

I made some half sour pickles, recipe was copycat from a restaurant. They came out SO good, maybe just a tad on salty side. Have 2 jars. Also have some Asian pickled radishes that I am enjoying.
Yesterday we did Mexican street corn. Such a weird recipe, but came out really good also.

Good morning, ambidextrous invisipeeps with things going on on all fronts. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope your day proceeds smoothly. I hope you find things you'd thought were lost to the ages and that all your socks have mates. I hope you enjoy a decadent dessert. We should see some sun today. We did yesterday afternoon after a soggy start to the day. I don't know why but my hands and feet are swollen a bit and tender, like they tended to be in the heat of early summer. It's not been particularly warm. I've still been wearing my winter jacket for the morning beach strolls. I need to replace a missing hub cap, I noticed yesterday. It looks shabby to have one gone, like missing a tooth. I bought some (temporary) purple hair dye yesterday. I'm going to do a shock of hair in the front because I can. It says it will last about 6 hair washings. WTH. I'm an artist. Yesterday was gray during both picture taking times for me, so I got this shot of a crab apple blossoming at the park:

Joining Finn being awake at this unholy hour. Tornado sirens went off and I was the only one who heard them. Got up to rouse everyone to go downstairs. Seems like we might be down here for an hour but unlikely we will have damage. Stl tends to have tornado alleys. Going to mess with dd15 sleep for school though.

We don't have tornado sirens here, or tornados typically either... When the sirens go off, do you stay in your safe place until the sirens stop? Is that how you know it's safe to come out? That probably seems obvious to those of you that live in tornado-ville. It's not a thing here. Thanks!

Sirens go off when there is a tornado warning, meaning one has been spotted nearby or conditions are really good for one to develop. Warning sirens go off for several minutes. We go to the basement and if we can tell weather is really bad, we go to interior bathroom. Last night I watched the radar on my phone for a bit and could guess that tornado path was heading northeast away from us so I went back to sleep in basement as did my fam. Good thing I'm the responsible one and set alarm for first wakeup needed. Having phone to monitor radar has made things so much easier than watching local tv or listening on radio. All clear happened around 515. Thunderstormed for another hourish and now quiet. Enough rain that my softball game should be cancelled which is just fine bc I'm sore from gardening sat/sun and pickleball with DH yesterday.

I have been awake for a bit. Pink if Gmail is your e-mail server, there are two settings for e-mail deletion. You can delete off single device i.e. your phone, or all devices (phone & computer). I am not sure what my settings are right now, but I also need to do a major purge.
I try to purge mom’s e-mail several times a week so she doesn’t donate to every politician and shady charity out there.
I was frantically trying to crank out financials for one of the companies I work on when mom called and said she really needed groceries. So, I told her I would go after work ( was planning to go on my lunch, but I didn’t take lunch yesterday) ended up working past 7. Called DH at 6 to get dogs. Went to store, got to moms, carried in groceries and on my way out to car to grab last few bags, caught my foot in an old post hole. Maybe 4X4? And went down. Knees are scraped up but good. Was wearing nice WHBM dress pants in a petite size. They don’t have all their styles in Petite anymore ( none in that style in any color in my size) 🤬. I was/am pissed. I asked my brother at least 2 X to fix. Last year to fill hole, and more recently told him mom needed a railing there.
My brother used to stop in there a lot, but I don’t know how often he is there anymore b/c mom just doesn’t remember. Last week I asked him to replace a light in the bathroom, and I know he stopped in & took care of it, and I got a card for his new granddaughter which mom signed & wrote a check for, and he stopped in & picked it up. Mom, forgets stuff. She told me last night she needed a card for the baby, I said no mom, I got a card last week, we filled it out, wrote a check and I called DB to pick it up. We put it on table by front door & it is gone, so DB picked it up.
So, last night I brought a card for my youngest niece who is 19 on Saturday. Had mom fill it out & write a check b/c she will go on Sat for dinner at DS’s house. We also wrote check to church for booster tickets and she wrote a check to me for groceries. I walked in door at home about 8:30, to my husband raging b/c I was so late, and my Dog barking b/c he wanted to be walked. I had not eaten yet. I told DH, I will walk dogs as soon as I eat. I then got a lecture about how I should have eaten with my Mom. He waked the dogs. I didn’t ask him to do it, because I kind of wanted to walk/relax/unwind.
Today s/b better. I need to clean my house a bit. I also need to do s major purge/declutter. I did some on Sunday, but have a long way to go. DD will be home Thurs or Fri till Sun afternoon, so, I would like to clean up a bit. I might visit Homegoods-my living room could use a seasonal update.
M is ready for his walk. Gotta get up.

And our “tornado” season is usually in December. Not a season that’s just when we are most likely to have one. We gets TV/phone warnings from time to time. But they scare the bejesus outta me anyway

It's eerie winter weather here in StL on days when it reaches darn near 70 and then plummets that makes for some bad shit.

Someone took the non functioning power washer last night. Wasn’t picked up with garbage and I was going to put on free cycle Went to farmers market yesterday. Great prices, 1.49 for 3 lbs onions or 5 lbs potatoes. 1.50 for blueberries Then went to grocery store ShopRite and was again dismayed by costs. One stood out $6.75 for jar of hellmans mayonnaise. WSJ article about people not buying brand names. Wondering when this is going to affect the stock

Wondering when this is going to affect the stock I am getting pissed about continued price hikes. Quaker instant oatmeal packets were 10/box for 2.89 for years, even through the pandemic. About a year ago, they cut the packets to 8/box and the price jumped to 3.69/box. Just noticed another price hike to 4.29/box.

I was planning to pick up a bottle of olive oil yesterday at Walmart, since I hadn't realized I was almost completely out the last time there was a sale anywhere else. the 50oz bottle used to be $13 or $14 there, and it was $22 yesterday. so no, I didn't get any olive oil yesterday, and will be waiting patiently for a sale soon.

Olive oil has gone up due to poor harvests creating a shortage.

Didn’t realize how screwed I was until they skipped the planned 2:15 break (which didn’t actually happen until 2:45). I really needed to be there for all of the last 2.5 hours I did skip off to the ladies around 11:30, and I have a mini fridge by my desk that happened to contain a couple of cheese and pretzel snack packs. But still…rotating speakers but otherwise the same group of people. No wonder they have trouble getting people to sign up for the panel
